Revisited our buffet to see if things had gotten better or worse. Besides prices edging up to unaffordable (unless you have a coupon), the quality & quantity of food has stayed about the same. It is an American buffet so expectations shouldn't be high. Variety is very good with dozens of choices for meats, veggies, salads & desserts. The simpler items like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, pot roast, salad fixings, etc. we're all good. They even had freshly pan-fried Chinese dumplings. Dark chocolate dipped strawberries made for a nice finishing touch. But with any buffet, if items stay too long in the warming trays cuz they aren't popular, these items will dry out. Simply don't choose those items, which is easy to do given the many choices at the buffet. Service was friendly, both the waitstaff & the cooks. I saw no significant problems with cleanliness. My daughter picked here for a birthday lunch since there are no buffets in Eugene . She wanted to go back in time when we had hometown buffet here . The lady that checked us in was very nice. Our waitress also very friendly. But the quality of food and the lack of care showed . There were two pieces of pizza the whole time we were there nothing fresh came out. There were no chips for nachos I had to stand there for I don't know how long before someone asked what I needed . The soup was dried over gross . They did not refill popcorn shrimp , basically most of everything was really low I kept watching to get something hot but nothing was getting filled I was only able to get couple pics one of the workers was starring at me while I took couple pics and he didn't look happy . Was really looking forward to a hot fresh buffet and did not get that. The salad was the only thing that was full so whoever was in charge of that section was doing a great job. Dined in on a Saturday evening recently, & this place seems to have declined since my last visit quite sometime before. Starting with the cashier: no wasting of energy or breath for any pleasantries: no greeting not thank you, just the amount owed. Well darn: I thought maybe my patronage would've been appreciated, as it does help to keep the place open. Beginning with the seafood station, as I'm a seafood fan- except there wasn't any there, just land type food. Around on the other side I found some fried shrimp, catfish & okra. The shrimp were with tails on; the catfish was dry & the okra (as we know tho, not a seafood ), well- a few more recently cooked pieces were good, but mixed in with the older cooked pieces that were hard & chewy did not make for an overly good eating experience. Oh, & if you want cocktail or tartar sauce - you get to walk down to the salad bar for that. The clam chowder was just ok, but at least it was warm. There was a shortage of spoons though, despite walking the entire food bar- none to be found. So when back at my table, I asked my server to please find me one. Upon her first return, she asked if a plastic spoon was ok, of which I wasn't fond of, so she continued to search & eventually brought me a real spoon, yay! The salad bar is good, except people get sloppy & drop things into where they shouldn't be & the work crew stays busy & not always on top of getting such situations corrected. Desserts: the pecan pie was OMG way to sweet, so I just scraped the top pecan layer off & tossed the rest. The chocolate cake was ok, the frosting being a bit too sweet also & the cake itself easily fell apart. The water is not filtered & tastes bad, so I asked my server to please bring me a soda, of which she was good enough to inquire of my choice re: ice- kudos to her! Overall, I would've given only 2.5 stars if possible, but server Kylie is what made the difference! They also make an attempt at playing music overhead, playing 3 songs then nothing for a bit of time before 3 more songs, the only thing is that people then talk louder to be heard over the music in an already noisy environment. First American Buffet experience. Came here with a large group on a Friday afternoon. It wasn't that busy. Which was nice- gave us a lot of time to look around and make our choices without being rushed by the amount of people around and anxious to make a choice. We really didn't know how things worked but it was pretty simple. When we entered, you grab your drink first. They have different options for cup sizes- they have this extra large to-go cup, medium to-go cup or their regular restaurant cups, then the kids cup. Once you get your drink, you can grab a seat- but since we were a party group, we had a designated spot. We started at the salad bar area. Lots of different lettuce options- I went with spinach, then all the toppings you could think of- including dressings. There's also tuna, and imitation crab salad. There's chips and dips too! For the main entrees, there was lots to choose from. Heavy on pork options, which surprised me! The pulled pork was delicious! Seasoned properly, moist, and had an extra bbq sauce on the side if you wanted more flavor, but it was okay by itself. The pot roast was also very yummy. Side options were typical, but all very good as well. We felt very overwhelmed but overall, it depends on how you build your plate. The price way too much we thought for what we could eat $25 a head not including drink ouch. Food was ok huge selection waitresses kept tables cleaned very nice building needing some love carpets run down dirty. My review is 5 stars because for what it is, the food was freshly rotated, pretty good, a ridiculous amount of options, and very filling for the price. Everything was clean. The service? Immaculate. Updated review on 5/21/23: The food was as good as I expected. I enjoy dining there occasionally. However, I do miss using the chocolate fountain and the many dipping options they used to have. When I was there this time, only the dipped mashmallow was available. The staff is definitely understaffed. It makes refilling the soda very difficult. We weren't greeted but the host seemed preoccupied by the folks in front of us. It wasn't busy until around 5:30pm, but still did not fill the restaurant. You get your drink and pay first, then seat yourself. We paid $20/person and found it to be a reasonable price. They have a salad bar, taco bar, dessert bar (cotton candy and ice cream cones are additional $1), and a variety of American options: steak, mac and cheese, bbq chicken, pot roast, etc. We ate mostly the same things cause we tried a bit of everything just to try it out, and seemed to enjoy the steak, pork chop, fried chicken and churros. The churros were mini and so delicious. We may be back to try the breakfast buffet. It's a lot of simple food and you get a variety. Okay let's be honest.. it's not the best but it's a buffet outside a casino. Not a great and not a horrible price for all you can eat for an adult and child under $30. The salad bar is actually pretty good with more than just iceberg lettuce and cheese on it. The rest is more fast food quality with a table. The dessert bar never disappoints! I found myself driving through Vancouver one early afternoon last week (June 2024) and stopped by for lunch. Now that I am old enough to order from the senior menu I was sure to take advantage of the savings. The selections were hot, fresh and replenished frequently. As much as I want to try many different choices I always fall back on their fried chicken. It is always hot, fresh, flavorful and made about every 10-15 minutes. I wanted some catfish but the fried fish was farm raised tilapia which is not my first choice. The wait staff clearing tables were especially kind and helpful and had big smiles even though it was a busy lunch service. It is an open, friendly atmosphere but Jerry is certainly missed! He was promoted and I miss him mingling among the guests with his great attitude. It is not fancy dining but hearty selections of favorites that hit the spot. read more

She was so snotty and rude that we ended up not tipping and just left, and this last time we were here she was working the register and cleaning and when my wife went to the bathroom, Jasmin was listening to her headphones and started spraying my wife with cleaning chemicals while she was other toilet. My wife started yelling for her to stop but she either didn't hear her or just ignored her and when my wife left the stall she confronted Jasmin and Jasmin once again was just a snotty little brat. Both times I visited the buffet line, I had to scrape the bottom to get potatoes. My husband asked when a new supply of bread pudding would be out and was told 30 minutes !! Wow. I'm not ashamed to say this. I was satisfied. A buffet does not have to have every item be good. It just has to have enough that I feel justified in the cost. The higher the cost, the more items needed. Apparently these yeast rolls are a thing. They are pretty darn good. They make these meatloaf sliders with them but you can literally throw everything in there and it's delicious. The fried catfish was pretty good. Didn't even need the hot sauce. I'm dubious it was even catfish Pot roast was delicious. However there are three items that could identify as pot roast but I did find the beef and loved it. They have a slurpee machine in the buffet so passing on the beverage was smart. I will make a claim that this was the best buffet fried chicken I've ever had. Hands down. It was crispy and juicy and interesting. I appreciate that they use the whole space. I love being able to sit away from other potentially infected patrons. Just went here today 04/09/2022 around 3 PM, it was a nightmare! They literally had nothing to eat and anything available was barely edible at best. How many can say they've ate a watery taco meat? I took a bite and had to spit it out and took a picture of it while people around wasn't looking. They had a small piece of ham without a server there for the whole hour I was there trying to make it worth my money I paid for trying to figure out what to eat that was safe to eat. I looked at fried fish and asked what kind of fish it was and it was a fish from Asia that lives in the most polluted river in the world called "Mekong River" the local people around there doesn't even eat the fish from that river so they export it abroad and they're trying to cook it and serve it to us here in the USA? Also noticed the canned fruits that are non US based, and I saw more employees standing outside smoking cigarettes for hours than seeing them inside cooking food. I ended up filling my belly with fresh salads with vegetables, I stayed away from withered looking vegetables that seemed to have turned into a zombie! Even their cooking and cakes were very bland and didn't taste like anything. People come to Golden Corral wanting to eat American Food that's sourced locally or from within USA!
