I decided to give this place a try after seeing so many people online eating there over the past few months, and let me just say, it did not disappoint! Staff were super kind and accommodating (I wanted to sit in a specific spot and they were kind enough to allow me to wait for it to free up.) Hostess was a sweetheart and Bianca was an excellent waitress with great recommendations! The food was great. I got the corn ribs, the Shoyu Beef Ramen, the Veggie pan fried gyoza, and the matcha tiramisu (not pictured because it was devoured). The ramen and the corn were delicious, the gyoza could've used more flavor but otherwise everything was delicious! Their Thai tea was good too. All in all, I will definitely be back!

I wish they were closer to downtown bc I could see myself here a lot!! We split a number of things, including the sushi conveyor, the omurice, the mentaiko udon, pan fried gyoza, spicy chilli dumplings, karaage, Yinyang ramen, cherry blossom jelly, matcha pudding, and a brown sugar boba. Everything was delicious, but I especially liked the mentaiko and the chili dumplings. Our server was really nice and apologetic about how slow the food and drinks came out. The honeycomb seating was super cute and made for a really fun atmosphere. My biggest complaint was that while the menu and the illustrations were super cute, I would've appreciated more detail about certain dishes (like the sushi conveyor)

Fun ramen place with an extensive menu and ample and eclectic seating. The private booths with different themes are like little train cabins. Would love to sit in the graphic novel library one next time. The wooden plates to write your name and message and hanging by red threads is like an inviting canopy. Attentive service. Now to the food: Vegetable miso ramen 5/5-broth is light, the addition of dumplings makes it heartier. Kale noodles instead of usual white is a welcome addition too. Steamed chicken dumplings (ordered without chili oil) 5/5-vanished from kid's plate before we knew it. Steamed pork bao buns 3/5-pork was a tad chewy and the bun too doughy. Popcorn chicken 5/5 Kyoto Veggie Tempura Roll 6/5-there continues to remain a dearth of vegetarian rolls beyond avocado and cucumber, this one was an exception. Burst of flavor from truffled yuzu and kizami wasabi. The asparagus tempura wrapped and presented inside a lettuce leaf shaped like a flower is beautiful. Purple rice add to the visual appeal. Spicy Tuna Roll 5/5 Salmon Avocado Roll 5/5

Recently opened with a room for improvement THE GOOD * food is pretty good * modern design with many traditional elements. THE MEH * restaurant doesn't have alcohol license yet and you can't buy alcohol drinks. * serves was the least friendliest person we interacted with. Almost like we inconvenienced her by being there. * restaurant is new yet paper menus look old and messy. BOTTOM LINE Competition is strong in the area and unless there are improvements on customers service side, I don't see myself coming back.

The Kyushu Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen is the right amount of spicy, nice firm noodles, plenty of vegetables and for a limited time, there is a sign at the bottom of the bowl. If you get a certain sign, you get a free meal or drink. Truffle Salmon Carpaccio was a favorite--lovely truffle sauce with roe with salmon. A bit salty but still delicious. Kaiten Sushi Carousel is mainly for vibes and ambiance. It's cute because it rotates but it is a lot of rice to fish ratio. Premium Sashimi boat was good but the ebi was very slimy. It had plenty of variety and the quality was alright. Lovely staff but some times they forgot about us. We got Thai tea after and they took 10 minutes before we were able to flag anyone down and they didn't have tapioca for my friend. And the server kind of gas lit us into thinking there was. But we could see there was none... so we told her again there was none when we tried it and she left and came back and said "oh the reason why we don't have it is because we ran out"... It kind of was a bit annoying that they charged us the extra topping and it was a very weird interaction because we could obviously tell the tapioca was not there and they took a really long time to tell us that they were out and they left the charge on.

Honeycomb Platter $13.49

Weekend lunch. First time visiting. Social media marketing is what brought me in, but the food and service fell so short of expectations that I left feeling like I'd been baited by the hype. - (3/5) Honeycomb Platter $13.49 - (2/5) Tokyo Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen (Black Garlic) $17.99 - (2/5) Katsuobushi Pork Ramen $17.99 - Extra Noodles $3.00 - (1/5) Matcha Pudding (Slurp & Win, Red Stamp) Sadly, this experience felt all too typical: average food and forgettable service. Ramen broth lacked the depth and richness that are hallmarks of good Japanese ramen, and overall the food fell noticeably below the standard I generally expect from Japanese cuisine. Service was equally underwhelming. Staff interactions felt indifferent and transactional, with little effort made to be welcoming or attentive.

You can tell the restaurant is fairly new. They're sorting through things. It seemed a bit unorganized, every few mins the staff would bring someone else's food or beverage to our table and we had to tell them we didn't order it. The bubble tea spot located inside of the restaurant ran out of milk tea and when they made more I tried it and mine tasted like coffee lol. I would say this is a spot to come back to when everyone is trained up. It was a bunch of college looking students. I'll steer clear for now. We didn't make a reservation and came here on the fly on a weekday for dinner. There was a short wait so we hung out and ordered bubble tea. I got the milk tea with bubbles it was a 2/5. It didn't taste at all like milk tea. It tasted like coffee. Initially they told us they had ran out but were making a fresh batch. I may have gotten the wrong thing though. My husband ordered their fruit tea which was actually really good and refreshing. Whenever we try this place again I'll get their fruit tea. After 15 mins a table was ready for us. We ordered the ramen 2 person B1 Classic combo. It comes with an app, entree, and two desserts. The broths were actually decent. It surpassed my expectations in regards to flavor. It was so chaotic I didn't think it would actually be good. Popcorn chicken 4/5 Tokyo Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen 3.5/5 Sapporo Miso Ramen 3.5/5 MatchaPudding w. Red Bean 2/5 Japanese Cherry Bicesom Jelly 3/5 There's some good deals on the menu. Also, there's opportunity for freebies. The interior is nice and there parking but it's for the entire shopping lot so parking may be limited.

Do yourself a favor and skip the wagyu fried rice... for almost $30 you'd expect a bit more than tiny little pieces of beef which is falsely advertised on the menu with bigger chunks. The fried rice was nothing special and nothing else in it besides some egg. There was also a huge puddle of oil under. The service was also okay... we pressed the call button multiple times which didn't seem to work. The other dishes I did enjoy! I really liked the cucumber salad, lobster balls, corn ribs, shrimp tempura, and speciality sushi! The yakitori platter, ramen, and mapo udon were standard. The fruit drinks were also good but nothing special. They were out of a bunch of items like the omurice, mentaiko udon, grilled squid, etc. Overall this is a mixed bag depending on what you order, but I did enjoy the ambiance and decor. I hope to try the out of stock items next time.

Sashimi flight

Close to IAD airport and I stopped by because of flight delays. Place is clean and the staff is very friendly. Edamame was hit and tasty. Sashimi was decent but I felt there were some pieces that were not as fresh as I wanted but overall it was as expected however The karage was not; nothing serious but I dont think they used panko or potato starch and therefore not very crispy as most Japanese karage is. I think they just used a normal batter of egg and flour? Overall it was a great place to hang out before my flight and I would go again to try other items.

If you want delicious food, you should definitely come here. I recommend making a reservation if you want to come here because it seems busy pretty much all day. I requested to sit in a honeycomb in my reservation because they're so cute! This restaurant is so beautifully decorated, it is very similar to izakaya nana in chantilly. They have a separate tea shop where you can come and order just that if you want to or you can also order from your table. I ordered a spicy vegetable miso ramen and the flavor was amazing and it came with a lot of toppings. It was my first time trying omurice and I loved the flavor, I can't wait to eat it again. They also do a cool show of cutting the omurice with a large knife and pouring the sauce on top. Our waitress was really kind and patient and our food came out quickly. I had a great experience at this restaurant even though it is fairly new and quite busy.

Yakitori and other dish menu

Expect to wait. It took 45 mins for 3 of us to get a seat on a Friday night. The place is big and there are many open spots but there doesn't seem to be enough staff. The Super in the name should suggest the size of the menu. I counted the 70+ options (not including the bubble teas) while I waited. That can be overwhelming both for you and the staff. The decor is quite polished. I like the dimmed lanterns, small private rooms, and the overall Japanese vibe but the hexagons weren't working for me. It is still a pretty spot for a date or a hangout. Getting a parking out front would be like pulling a Charizard. It's a busy area. Don't fret though. Drive all the way to the right side of the buildings. There's a big, free parking lot next to Hello 2 India. Oh, btw, don't stop by Hello 2 India for Tuesday dinner because they have a portal straight to India's street food stalls. We got 3 ramen bowls, takoyaki, matcha tiramisu and matcha pudding. My Japanese friends have high standards on ramen so my view can be a little skewed but objectively speaking for the general population around the area, the ramen here was fresh and delicious. If you don't get the spicy version, the soup can feel very rich. I was reading a review about Andrei being the most friendly, helpful waiter while I was waiting and we were so stoked when our server showed up with the name tag "Andrei"!! Dude has a good aura. He recommended #3 Shoyu beef ramen, #6 Spicy Tonkotsu ramen, Paradise roll for sushi, and matcha tiramisu. I tried two of his recommendations and they were fantastic! I'll be back for the sushi later! Don't go there super hungry but definitely check it out!

I placed a pickup order for a Sapporo Miso Ramen, Pork Bao and Thai Iced Tea, and I did not receive my Pork Bao, very disappointing as to waste my money as this was my first visit here and I regret not checking my bag before leaving but it was sealed shut. Even though this ramen was supposed to be mild there is still a good amount of spice to it, I just thought it was ok. The Thai tea was decent and they have very nice packaging and aesthetics overall. When arriving to pick up my order it seemed like just telling them my name wasn't enough to get my order so be prepared to have your receipt ready to show them.

Matcha Tiramisu
Jasmine B.

Super Kyuramen is their new location in Herndon! I began with the Thai iced tea which was refreshing and a great way to kick things off. For food, I tried the Negima yakitori and really enjoyed it. It was juicy and not dry at all with good flavor throughout. For my main, I had the Kyushu Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen which was really comforting in the rainy weather. The chashu pork was tender and not dry and the broth had a nice richness to it. To finish, I had the matcha tiramisu. It was decent and enjoyable but a bit one-note in flavor compared to the rest of the meal. Our server Christian was really sweet and kind. It was a really enjoyable experience overall! Good especially for a rainy day!

Have tried Izakaya Nana, Genki Izakaya and Super Kyuramen and been to Izakayas in Tokyo and Kyoto…read more I love that so many Izakayas have opened in the NoVA area. The bad thing about Genki Izakaya is how crowded it can be. I'm not sure I would show up without reservations again. I've been there 3 times, the first time we didn't have a reservation and the hostess seemed very hesitant to add us to the wait list. She said the waitlist was very long. We decided not to wait. The second time we also didn't have a reservation and the hostess again seemed very hesitant to add us to the wait list. This time we did wait and were quoted 1.5 hours and it actually took about an hour. Not as bad as quoted but still busy! Third time we finally had a reservation and it still took us 20 mins to get seated as they did not have a table ready for us. To be honest the restaurant itself seems too small, they probably could be twice as big. The reason is the food at Genki Izakaya is in my opinion the best of the 3 Izakayas in the area. The Yakitori is good, hot and reasonably priced although I wish they would let you customize the $20 Yakitori Platter. I tried the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Hot Stone and was surprised that they cook it for you instead of you cooking it yourself on the hot stone. The waiter overcooked 2 pieces of the Wagyu which is annoying when it is so expensive but overall it tasted great. I like their Tonkotsu Ramen, it broth tastes great and I've had ramen all over this area, in New York City, LA area, Tokyo and Kyoto. It isn't the best I've ever tasted but it is really good especially for this area. Once seated the service is good and the food comes out quickly and everything we've had has tasted great. The only problem is how crowded it can be because its so popular! Only bad thing for us is it isn't too close about a 45 min drive but worthwhile - definitely try it if you like Izakayas and Japanese food.

The fried lotus was surprisingly my favorite non meat dish. Had no issues with the meat and service - although it was a tad slow and the 10 minute cooldown between ordering was unexpected. Our server was great and kept checking in with us. A few items we ordered never made it out to us, but at that point we were too full to care. My main complaint was with one of the hosts. We finished our meal and thanked our waiter and made our way back to the parking garage. From behind, we heard a very loud "EXCUSE ME." We originally thought we had dropped something and someone was looking out for us, but was appalled when she followed us halfway across the street and said "you think you're just going to leave without paying for your mocktail?" That was hands down the rudest I've been treated by a customer service based establishment. I've worked in hospitality and know you should never accuse a customer of anything. To make matters worse, she got the wrong people - we never ordered a mocktail. Will likely not return to Gyuzo for a while and stick to other bbq places with better service.
