I genuinely cannot recommend Sophia and this nail shop enough! I've been going to Sophia since 2023, back when she was at her previous location in Dorchester. So when I heard she was going to open her own nail shop, I already knew I had to follow her! When I first moved to South Carolina, one of the things I was most nervous about was finding a nail tech who could consistently do good work. Anyone who gets their nails done knows how hard it can be to find someone you can actually trust with your nails, and Sophia has never once disappointed me. My nails easily last me an entire month, and the only reason I go back to get them redone is because my natural nails have grown out so much that they're too long! She's incredibly detailed, takes her time, and somehow manages to make my nails look even better than the reference pictures I bring her every single time. I just got my nails done yesterday. Fast forward to later on to the day to the following next day I started noticing that my left hand side on mostly all my nails have been lifted from the sides. What I had done was an overlay no color just clear. It was so noticeable that food,dirt could have gone in between. In this case I was able to my nail between the acrylic and my nail. I should have checked Yelp PRIOR to walking in at opening to get my eyebrows done on a Saturday morning. I mean.....it is Saturday morning at opening and eyebrows! That's it. I watched 4 pedicures and 2 full sets and a new set before I was acknowledged and told someone would be right with me. Why did I sit so long? Because I honestly did not want to try to find another place to get my brows waxed and I was told the owner/owner's wife was the best at brows. All that waiting and she wasn't even the one that did my brows. After an hour and twenty-eight minutes, it was time to go. I must admit, my brows did look great but the ROI doesn't match! I have a hard time keeping polish on, but even after errands, cooking, and cleaning there are no chips. But that's just me. The reason I say their service was excellent was how they treated my friend. She has cancer (she has given permission to relate this). She is hyper-sensitive to touch and temperature at the moment. She also has in-grown toenails. Walking is a challenge. Monique was her technician. She was extremely gentle and took an hour to make sure my friend experienced no discomfort. I'm very picky about my pedicures! I have been to several other places only to find a poor paint job miss shaped nails and constant up charges. This place might not be super fancy but they really took there time to shape trim and paint like real professionals. My daughter wanted coffin shaped nails and the were perfect! Had a pretty good experience here today. I only got a manicure, but the gentleman who did it did a pretty good job. He did an excellent job trimming my cuticles and giving me a massage. I wish that he was more friendly, he didn't say a word to me, and the color I chose was very light and he was just going to do two coats. My girlfriend and I were looking to treat ourselves before a busy weekend ahead so we stumbled across Super Nails & Spa. We arrived as soon as they opened and it was downhill from the moment we entered. Only 2 people know how to speak English & they were not welcoming at all. The nail tech even got upset with me because I asked to sit beside my friend. When two people walk into a salon together, it is common courtesy to sit them together. She tried to sit us on complete opposite sides of the salon! Once I noticed her attitude, she then showed how upset she was by doing the job of a toddler on my fingernails. By the end, a regular of the salon came in and told me that my nails looked awful and needed to be fixed. I asked another nail tech to please fix them and thankfully she did a decent job. The owner then proceeded to give me an attitude (the first lady who polished my nails was her sister apparently) then after checking my account this morning, she overcharged me for their AWFUL service!! I will never go to this "salon and spa" again and would highly recommend that everyone else save their time and money and go somewhere else.
