I think this is the first Pepper Lunch/ DIY rice plate concept of this kind in SF(?). It's not bad and I think the flavors are just right. Go with the classics- pepper beef or curry pepper beef. You get the sauce on the side and get to add however much you want to your rice, meat, and corn. The hot plate comes out sizzling and you get to cook your meat in front of you. Beware it's extremely hot. I think they should have the side seasonings on the table because sometimes you want the extra spice, but all in all it is a solid spot for the DIY concept. P.S. Appetizers: The garlic fries are bomb- very crispy. The spicy chicken wings are not ones I expected and were interesting - they are more like braised wings. I'd pass on that next time. read more

My go to place when I don't know where to get dinner! Also, my go to place when my friends come to SF to visit. I usually get the black pepper or the curry sauces with the beef. I always alternate between the two sauces, and they always offer more sauce if you want! The few times I did get something else, I was whatever about it. I wouldn't really recommend straying away from the beef rices. Service is good! It's usually the same guys that's always working, and food comes out very quickly! I went to a tepanyaki place I Tokyo that I really liked so I was excited to discover Super Pan in SF. I ordered the curry pepper steak with an egg on top. It's the same as the regular pepper steak but just with curry sauce instead of heir house pepper sauce. Either way, all of their tepanyaki dishes were under spiced and my whole table had to dump a bunch of salt and pepper on our food. The steak pieces were also really big so they couldn't get crispy from cooking in the pan. We also got 2 shaved ice desserts that were mediocre. I wouldn't mind going here if I'm just craving rice with meat. The meal was big and decent if you added more spices. read more

We ordered the pepper beef with curry and egg on top ($1 extra). The curry in the picture had curry "powder" on top which is what I was expecting since I had it in Japan like that. (It gives it a more stronger curry taste) but it came out with Japanese curry sauce. When I asked about the picture vs what I got the server responded with "yeah in the picture it looks like that but it's not powder" I said okay even though the picture is clearly powder. FOOD - I liked it over all. The meat was so tender and it went well with the curry and corn. I was attracted by the pretty layout of the food on the pan and thought it would be fun to cook the meat yourself i got the garlic fries and the pan with noodles and meat, the garlic fries are soooo good and they bring you a small plate of ketchup too which was cute. The plate also comes with a sauce too depending on what you order i would recommend putting the sauce after you mix the plate around or it will dry up, and for the meat and noodles plate it was good definitely something to try and the service was great friendly people and fast service does get packed towards 5-6pm. read more

For teppanyaki, it's not terrible. Price-wise, it's very decent at about $12-13 per standard sizzling plate. The cheese omelette and beef with garlic pepper sauce isn't the best thing you'll eat, and the rice could do with more of a pre-loaded cook to make it crunchy like a dolsot bibimbap. To be honest, the veggies and meat quality of a bibimbap would be preferred, but a different type of sizzling plate/bowl with some hidden garlic butter isn't a terrible thing every now and again. Lines are almost non-existent, and you can get etea from next door when you eat here, so it's a one-stop shop. This is a serviceable meal, but don't expect much more than that. 3 pieces of broccoli and some thinly sliced beef with rice is your standard. read more

I came here with my friends on a Saturday around 5PM and there was only one other table of people so it wasn't busy! The waiters served us water and gave us our menus. The menu is very non-coordinated but I do like how there are pictures. I ordered #8: cheesy omelette w/ pepper garlic creamy gravy w/ beef. It came out really fast, like 5 minutes after we ordered. This was just ok, both quality and quantity. I do agree with the other reviews, that's bland most of the time. Couldn't really taste any of the garlic butter after mixing. Ordered the steak plate and Winnie the Pooh boba (from the boba shop that shares the space). I like the concept of this place (closest to pepper lunch in South Bay) and the food was okay to good. My steak had some (undesired) fat attached to it. It was tasty overall (esp with the sauce). My pieces cooked a little unevenly so the ones in the middle of the plate were well done while the edges medium rare (desired result). But this place definitely hit the spot and didn't break the bank so will return next time I'm craving teppan style food. But unlike Pepper Lunch the meat did not have a lot of flavoring. I chose #3 which was the curry beef pan I think. The waiter instructed us to cook them eat first before adding the curry on the side. I liked how we were given instructions unlike Pepper Lunch where they assumed we knew what we were doing. The food was fine but I expected it to be less bland. I think my expectation was way too high for this place because everything looked so good on the menu. I got #11 - cheesy omelette w/ creamy tomato sauce with chicken. There was also corn and broccoli on the side. The food came sizzling on a pan, which made me pretty excited to start eating. But I was quickly disappointed... The tomato sauce wasn't tomato-y at all, and was pretty clumpy. I wasn't too sure how to describe the taste. The chicken and broccoli were also diced into pretty large pieces. It just seemed like the place assembled the ingredients and slabbed them onto a sizzling pan. The portion size is big so you can definitely get full from one meal. This review is very long overdue! My husband and I LOVE this establishment, and rave about it to others. The food is always fresh and made to order. We have found our favorite dishes and stuck to them, they're so delicious. I constantly get the pork chashu ramen, and it has never failed me. The ingredients and broth are so tasty and full of flavor! My husband loves the garlic fries and chicken wings. He says if we ever had a big enough party, he would get them catered! Besides the food being amazing, the staff is equally at par. The servers are always friendly and make sure our preferences are met. Good teppanyaki, warm & cozy little atmosphere in the outer Richmond, perfect for a cold windy night. Stumbled in after ichiraku ramen was closed due to running out of broth!!!!! I went with the garlic noodle steak. It came out in two minutes sizzling hot. Took only a few minutes to cook. They even brought out a new bottle of siracha for me. The only reason why I didn't give this place 5 stars was the price and the flavor. Super pan tastes 4 stars good , even with the garlic sauce they give you to add it isn't that flavorful. This is a great place to go if you're looking to eat a lot for an affordable price in San Francisco. I got the beef pepper rice and it was decent! Not outstandingly delicious or anything like that, but it's kind of a fun eating experience as the meat cooks on the hot pan in front of you and you can really eat your fill. This small restaurant can be easily missed, especially because you go through E Tea before you find a couple tables. It's a little spot that has only about 8 small tables, but the two of us came half an hour before closing. I didn't even realize they were about to close, but the waiter was incredibly welcoming nonetheless. I ordered the classic Beef Pepper Rice ($10.99) while he ordered the Salmon and Chicken Combo ($12.99), which came with rice and sauce on the side. We also got an order of Takoyaki ($6.99) to share, except I ended up eating five out of the six balls. It was bursting with flavor that got overwhelming, but so yummy! As for my actual dish, it was so delicious as well. I loved the presentation before mixing everything up and letting the heat cook the rest of the beef. She wasn't really eating it at first as I devoured my peppered beef. The broth tasted really weird and watery. She kept sneaking spoonfuls from my pan. I tasted the ramen and attemtped to eat it. I couldn't. The best I can describe the ramen flavor was old vegetable water and bamboo shoots. It was super unpleasant. 3 stars for because overall, it was a mixed experience. Inconspicuously attached to a boba shop is a neat little restaurant with a very delicious looking collection of pan meals. All the meals range from 10-13 bucks, not too bad of a price. I got the #6 with curry sauce and it took about 15 min to get my dish. The sauce makes the dish pretty flavorful; it's a necessity since the rice with beef and omelette itself isn't too amazing. You don't really need to get any sides or appetizers, the dish is super filling. I came here for the novelty of the dish (and because the wait for dragon beaux is insane lol). My tip is written very clear and couldn't be mistaken - you can't mistake $40.23 for $44.24 what they charged me - I still have my original receipt . What the waiter did is wrong and is called Fraud, and i hope that management will discourage it and fire anyone caught doing it.
