Came across Super Panga on a Newport Beach night stroll. Decided to try it since me & my friend were craving Mexican food. Was a cool vibe but the authenticity just wasn't there & we both ended up having upset stomachs later that night. We got the carne asada burrito which was large enough to split. I like that it's near the pier but unfortunately did not have the best experience.

The food is really good here. The nachos are enough for 2. I recommend the Mahi Taco Plate. The Taco Plate is Two Corn Tortilla or flour for the gringos. Tacos with Choice of Protein. Served with Side of Rice & Beans, Cotija Cheese Sprinkle & Shredded Lettuce & Pico De Gallo On the side. They have a full and great views of the beach. Counter seating is available to look outside at the beach or passersby on the walkway in front of the restaurant. You order at the counter, they give you a number clipped to a stand and they bring the food out to your seat. Counter, high top tables, and table seating is available.

We were at Newport Beach last Saturday and walked along the boardwalk when we passed by Super Panga. The lively atmosphere immediately caught our attention, so we decided to go in and give it a try. I'm glad we did because it turned out to be a great choice. One of the cashiers told us to find a table first and then come back to place our order. We were lucky enough to get a window seat, which gave us the perfect opportunity to enjoy the sunset while having dinner. The food exceeded my expectations. Usually, restaurants in tourist areas don't offer particularly memorable food, but Super Panga was definitely an exception. The California Burrito ($15) was delicious with generously portion, we couldn't even finish it. The Seafood Burrito ($15) was equally impressive and packed with flavor. We also ordered two Taco Plates ($14 each), which come with two corn tortilla tacos, rice, and beans. For our tacos, we chose the Al Pastor, Carne Asada, Blackened Mahi Mahi, and Crispy Cod. The Al Pastor was delicious, featuring flavorful pork, onions, pineapple, and cilantro. The Carne Asada was very good as well. The Blackened Mahi Mahi was my favorite. The combination of cabbage, cilantro, pickled onions, and mahi mahi made it juicy, fresh, and satisfying. The Crispy Cod was also excellent. The Street Corn "Esquites" ($9) was OK. The Chips, Salsa & Guacamole ($10) were tasty and served in a generous portion that we couldn't finish. They also have a full bar and offer a large selection of cocktails, which added to the fun and vacation-like atmosphere. The service was great, and we absolutely loved our window seat. Watching people stroll by on the boardwalk while enjoying the sunset made for a wonderful dining experience. With the ocean breeze, lively crowd, great food, and cocktail selection, it felt like we were in Hawaii or on a tropical island getaway. I would definitely recommend Super Panga to my friends and will happily visit again the next time I'm in Newport Beach

I've been here a few times & it's consistently been fantastic. You walk up & order. They bring out your food to you. Friendly fast service. The loaded nachos are so delicious. The pinto beans are perfection. Pico de gallo is tasty, fresh & chopped small. I'll be dreaming of these. I loved the shrimp quesadilla. The mahi mahi taco was the best I've had in Newport Beach. My husband loved the el pastor taco. I love the signage & vibe. We sat at the counter every time & looked at the ocean & pier. Super awesome Panga!

$10 taco plate on taco Tuesday! Perfect location and honestly I would come back to bring my SO here. Taco Tuesdays also include $5 tacos amongst other deals. You order first and then are seated! Don't sleep on Super Panga!

If you're looking for a quick bit with drinks come to super panga taqueria. Came here on Taco Tuesday! Got a plate of loaded nachos for 8$!!! Birria nachos!!! The service was nice and the beach vibes with great! The drinks were a little weak though tbh my girlfriend got a double shot for the spicy mango and she said it was weak. For the price it wasn't worth it. The food though super worth it.

Came out here with some coworkers while on a work getaway. One of my coworkers had had a rough morning and wanted a drink. We happened to be walking by as they were opening. They have open seating with view to the street and TVs. It is a very casual ambiance and they had breakfast and lunch items available in the morning. The staff were friendly and we got seated right away. It was Us open season and it was great that they had it on the TVs. It wasn't too loud but it also was t busy yet. Now to the food, the reason for the 3 stars. My ceviche was just ok, nothing impressive and have for sure had best. My coworkers were not impressed with their breakfast burritos, but it was food I guess. The drinks were good. Overall I would probably give another place a try unless you are looking for a sports bar vibe.

Stopped by here on a whim in the middle of the night. It's nice to sit by the open window facing the street for fresh air and to people watch. The Loaded Fries are massive??? It was like $12 or so? Also tried the Calamari fries. I liked all the fresh toppings and the sauce but the batter was a bit thick. Got the Haven & Hell cocktail and I loved it! Very refreshing very good. My friend thought it was spicy. Service is casual, order first and sit down. Servers were really chill and friendly! Nice place right by the beach.

Looks like Dory's was open but under construction so we went next door. I wasn't sure if the food was prepared here or there but it was good. I had two chorizo and egg breakfast tacos with beans and rice, my wife had taquitos. Great seating on the rail to watch the people come and go. You order and pay and take your number flag to your seat and shortly, piping hot and with the smile the food is delivered. I'm sure the two spots will return to normal soon but on this day they didn't miss a beat!

Taco Tuesday Win at Super Panga! If you're looking for the ultimate beach vibe in Newport, this is the spot. I'm not from the area, but I'd come back in a heartbeat! The Vibe & View Oceanfront Seating: It's an open-air spot right on the beach with bar stools that face the water. The Crowd: It's a fun, chill spot--especially for Taco Tuesday, which is an amazing deal. The Food Crispy Cod Tacos: The batter was perfect, and the fish had a wonderful buttery flavor. Easily a 10/10. Carne Asada: My friend got the steak with onions and cilantro--classic, fresh, and delicious. The Extras: They give you several types of salsa in individual cups, and the sides of rice and beans are huge! Pro-Tip: Parking Free Lot: There is actually a free parking lot nearby! It's right by the beach, so it gets super crowded, but it's worth circling for a spot. The Verdict Highly recommend this place if you're visiting Newport Beach. You can't beat eating great tacos right on the sand.

Beachside taqueria in Newport Beach serves up tasty tacos and brews with incredible brews. Affordable, fast service and a wide selection of, but it's the view that will make your experience memorable and keep you coming back.

Our friend brought us to Super Panga. She said she liked to come here after work to relax while sitting towards the water people watching with a tasty meal!! This small restaurant gets crowded quickly. As you enter the door, that's where you order your meal and pay before finding a seat. They will hand you a number and bring your order to your table. We ended up sitting towards the back. It was nice to chat with a meal knowing no one will be passing you by like if we were sitting towards the front area. A couple of our friends ordered the burritos. ( Land Burrito and Seafood Burrito ). I had the protein bowl and the other was the taco plate. We all enjoyed our meals over great conversation. Overall, we had a great evening. The restaurant is small, but popular. The decor is upbeat and colorful. The bathrooms are gender neutral and clean. The parking is crazy. We were quite a few blocks away. That's the price you pay for a beach area.

I appreciated that the quesadilla was super cheesy, it was a great size too and was perfect as an entree with the beans and rice. I was very happy with the flavor of the beans, you could tell they were cooked with a lot of love! The tacos were delicious as well, the roasted salsa was slightly smoky with a good jalapeño flavor, the meat was tender, and the tortillas had a great chew. The churros are not to be underestimated- they were thick and fluffy, and the dipping sauces were perfect accompaniments. The flan was the super star of the whole night for me- genuinely the most perfect, custardy, unctuous flan I've ever had. The vanilla bean specks throughout gave it such flavor, there wasn't a ton of syrup but it honestly did not need it. There is absolutely nothing that could have improved that flan. Will definitely come back, hopefully dine in and try a few drinks!

The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere with a beautiful design that strikes a nice balance between upscale and comfortable. It's the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy a leisurely meal. We started with the roasted bone marrow, which was pure indulgence. I spread that rich, nutty, buttery goodness over the crispy toast points, and every bite was better than the last. Next came the prawns. The chefs did an outstanding job highlighting the natural umami from the shrimp head before the sweetness of the corn and shallots blended perfectly with the tender, succulent shrimp. It was a dish that kept evolving with every bite. The smoked short rib was the star of the meal. I asked for the sauce on the side, but it was clear the meat had already been cooked sous vide with the sauce, allowing those deep, savory flavors to fully penetrate every bite. The result was an incredibly tender short rib that practically melted in my mouth. Absolutely delicious. From the welcoming ambiance to the thoughtfully executed dishes, Fable and Spirit delivered a memorable dining experience. I'll definitely be making a return visit the next time I'm in the area.

We've been here a few times before and always thought it was decent. So, we made the last minute reservation online and got here 15 minutes early. When we arrived, there was a short line, but per the reservation instructions, one of my friends went in to check in while we waited outside. Friend: Hi, I'm checking in for a reservation. Bartender: What time is your reservation. Friend: 10 Bartender: What time is it now? Friend: 9:45 Bartender: Then I'll see you at 10pm. Friend came back annoyed and explained what happened. The bartender didn't say it in a joking way, but with attitude and annoyance. Most staff would respond "Thank you for checking in, we will let you know when your table is available." We weren't going to let this ruin our night, so we waited and were seated by the hostess. The bar itself is dimly lit and very tight. The music was loud enough that we had to almost yell to hear each other. The waiter came by soon after and was extremely friendly. We said we'd been here a few times before, but it's been a while. He refreshes our memory by saying they specialize making variations of classics. They want customers to focus on the flavors and that's why the menu doesn't list the spirit in their drinks. Also, they only make drinks on the menu because their drinks are prebatched/premade. We ask for recommendations which he was happy to give. We each order a drink and a snack for the table. As we're talking (very loudly so we can hear each other), we lose track of time before we realize that it's been 20 minutes and we haven't gotten our drinks yet. For something that's prebatched, it shouldn't take long. Before we can flag down the waiter, he comes by and apologizes that they lost our order and had to put it back in. We appreciate the honesty and say it's no problem. 5 minutes later, our drinks and food arrives. He again apologizes for the wait and has a second order of our food that he's including for free. Honestly we were ok with just the apology, but extra food too? Hell yea. Sounds like it was turning around. The drinks were okay. Not amazing, but definitely above average 3.8 / 5. The snack, bread and butter, were surprisingly good. 4.5 / 5 When we asked for the check, the waiter brought the credit card reader and told us we can swipe our card any time and left it on our table. We look at the bill and realize the waiter not only gave us the 2nd snack for free, but comp'd 2 of the drinks also. We all agree this waiter is GREAT. So why the 2 stars? Well first let me say, I would leave it at 1 star, but the waiter definitely earned them another. We wanted to pay cash, so we waited for him to come back. Instead, the original rude bartender comes by and realizes we haven't paid yet. We ask if we can pay with cash. He explains that they don't accept cash. Friend: Are you sure? *Proceeds to try to insert cash into the chip reader slot* Bartender: You're pretty stupid, aren't you? Friend: Maybe if I swipe it instead *Doubles down and proceeds to swipe the cash through the magnetic strip reader* Bartender: Wow, you really are stupid. My friend is a 100% a goofball and having fun with the bartender. It was OBVIOUS that he was joking. Was it funny? A little. Was it stupid? 100%. But for the bartender or ANY customer service staff to call a paying customer "stupid", that's simply unacceptable. We're all pretty pissed at this point and simply swipe the card and the bartender leaves. As I said earlier, we've come here a few times. We don't live especially close, but when we're in the area, we would always consider coming here. Now, there's no chance. For any business, even if your drinks and food are great, customer service can easily DESTROY your experience and that's exactly what the bartender did. Note to the male bartender with no hair: You really shouldn't be interacting with customers. You were rude from the start and have no sense of humor. Could you be having a bad day? Sure, but that's not an excuse to be rude to customers. I know management saw my original post because it was removed, probably because I referred to the bartender by his hairstyle (or lack thereof) multiple times. If they rather remove my post than deal with their bartender, that's another sign to avoid this place.
