Super Pho is a new Pho joint in Northern Virginia. It opened four days ago in a space formerly occupied by a Chinese Buffet restaurant. The place has a rather large dining room. Clean looking with bright colors! I ordered the regular size Pho Ga and glass of water to drink. The Pho came out fairly quickly. I asked for some extra bean sprouts as I felt like the plate of aromatics/veggies were a bit light on the quantity of bean sprouts - they quickly brought out some extra bean sprouts. The server asked me if I need a fork for my Pho - I laughed and said no. The Pho broth had a wonderful aroma wafting up from it - hints of Star Anise and other seasonings. I added the aromatics/veggies: Basil, Culantro, Lime juice, Jalapeños, and bean sprouts. The noodles were slightly clumped so I worked to break up the mass. The broth was steaming in that O' so pleasant way. There was a lot of tender white chicken in the bowl. As usual, I added Sriracha to bites throughout the meal, as well as a large dose to the broth at the end. I had a hard time discerning what the broth actually was. The broth did not scream that it was a chicken-based broth. I asked later when I was paying my bill what kind of broth was in the Pho Ga. I was told it is a chicken broth! I would have guessed it was a beef broth. Overall, a decent Pho Ga. Most of you probably go for beef-based Phos - so I can't comment on how their beef Pho is. Also of note - their Men's Restroom was incredibly clean! Liberal use of large dark tiles - really nice! Service was good. They offer free Wi-fi as well. Super Pho is worth checking out! read more

I've heard great reviews about this place and was recommended to try it out. As I walked in my boyfriend and I were seated right away. The restaurant is pretty spacious so don't worry about crowds. It's also clean and bright. My boyfriend and I decided to explore the menu beyond pho. We started with fresh spring rolls. It came out quick. It was eh. Basically, it was cold and chewy. Tasted as if it was made yesterday. Next I ordered spicy beef stew and he ordered the lemon chicken vermicelli. The stew wasn't what I expected. I thought the broth would be bit more flavored and would come with french bread (according to friends). Womp womp, I was wrong. Instead it was served with vermicelli, the broth was watery and the beef was mainly fat. In the end, I still ate it but didn't hit the spot. Sad face here. The lemon chicken according to my boyfriend, was okay. It was light and the chicken reminded him of Mongolian Grill. The portion was decent. He wouldn't get it again because of the portion and price. Overall, the menu prices are a bit higher compare to other places. This place gives smaller portions and uses less ingredients. I would not get the same dish. I wouldn't mind driving to Eden Center for a good vietnamese entree. However, we will come back to give their pho a try. read more

After trying this place again (9/10/21 after last coming here in Nov 2020), they seem to have figured out how to operate well during COVID. Place is clean, staff take proper precautions with masking, cleaning, and distancing, etc. The service and food are high quality and I'm so happy to say I'll be coming back again as a regular for sure! **3.5 Stars** Not the best pho I've ever had, but it certainly wasn't bad. The broth was pretty clean and tasty, not watered down. I ordered my typical order of pho: eye-round steak with meatballs--the meatballs were delicious! I also liked that the meat was cut up into smaller portions. Additionally, the noodle/meat to broth ratio was pretty generous. They provided sate sauce on the side but I kid you not, that joint was like pea-sized so we had to ask for more. It had a good amount of heat and was tasty, but not the best sate I've had. The bowl sizes are pretty standard, but pricing is a tad bit higher than most pho restaurants. The inside is clean and spacious, lots of seating available and the food came out in a timely manner. My (non-Vietnamese) coworker told me how Super Pho was one of his favorites when he used live in Herndon and since they were featured in the NoVA Pho Wars a few years back, I wanted to finally try it out. Unfortunately the night that I went, I wasn't impressed. We went around dinner time and there were a decent amount of people in the restaurant and others ordering carryout. If it's not close to closing time, why were our pho bowls only lukewarm? Most pho spots come out with piping hot bowls that you risk burning your mouth with your first bite. I also can't justify paying almost $13 for a super large pho bowl. Super overpriced for the area, in my opinion. The bowl was definitely "super large" but the actual contents filled maybe half of it. Viets also do not typically eat pho with sate (I think that's what was brought out with the bean sprouts and limes). But adding it to my broth made my pho a little tastier. read more

My family has been going to Super Pho for years & today was amazing! We LOVE their sate sauce & put it in the pho & also use it to dip the meat. They don't give cilantro unless you ask for it separately, so if you a cilantro person, make sure to ask! Absolutely reliably excellent! One of our 'go to' destinations for a quick delicious dinner. I love the vermicelli noodles with veggies and an egg roll while my wife reliably chooses the beef stew. Very disappointing. My family has always enjoyed the pho from this place, but today we decided to branch out a bit and ordered the marinated grilled chicken with rice and the marinated grilled pork with rice. These dishes had good flavor, but: 1. Portions were very small for the price. 2. We found hair in one of the rice portions. 3. Half of the pork entree was fat, leaving very little edible meat. In addition, the bill for our takeout order was significantly higher than the prices listed on the web site, and I was not even offered a receipt so I could check the discrepancy (didn't think of it until I was on my way home). This is my go-to pho spot in NoVa! It's no wonder there is always a large lunch crowd-- The broth always comes out hot, service is typically fast (there have been a few times where we've waited 15+ minutes after ordering), and there's a healthy serving of whatever meat you pick. They also serve each bowl with a small dish of tasty satay sauce (?) which is not standard compared to your normal sriracha and hoisin. With tax though, a regular bowl comes out to around $11 before tip. Not what I expect to pay for pho but it's yummy enough to ignore. This spot has made significant improvements in their pho bowls! Whatever they are doing, keep doing it!! This place has a very calm ambiance and is very very clean! We got the P1 pho bowl and gave their veggie egg rolls a try. I'm not a fan of veggie egg rolls usually but these were great, they were hot and fresh. As for the pho, from the meat to the noodles to the soup, it was all perfect! We really enjoyed our time and will be coming here more often since it's down the street for us. read more

I got the marinated pork with spring roll now and chose rice (could've chosen vermicelli noodles). Tasty pork but a little to much fat. I've been to spot a few times...and every time I tell myself I'm going to give them a break! But this has got to stop!!! I usually place the easiest order! Today I ordered shrimp fried rice bc I wanted pork but the lady said they were out. I asked for it to be made spicy. This was a to go order. I also ordered the fried spring rolls. This restaurant has good food however they are lazy and untrained. I arrived at 7:20 pm and was greeted at the door by man who said we close at 8 so we only have take out. Ok no problem. I placed an order of 2 regular size Pho orders which their menu states is 12.95 per order and an order of crunchy spring rolls again the menu stated $7.00. He told me my total was $39.60. When I questioned the amount quick math told me it should have been around $34 with tax the man pointed to the menu that stated there was $1.25 fee PER TAKE OUT ORDER. Then he pointed to the wall behind me there's another 3.95% fee for using my debit card. I declined and offered to pay cash and requested a receipt. 12.95+12.95+7 is 32.90 plus the 1.25 fee should have been 34.15 plus tax. I was charged 2 fees of 1.25 plus another $0.50 fee on my crunchy spring rolls which is listed no where on the menu either. For a grand total of $38.10. So in order to be serviced at the location who refused me service inside at 7:20 pm I had to pay $3.00 additional in take out fees not advertised on their menu. It took the man over 8 minutes to provide me a receipt after getting help from another female worker who was also very confused. When I questioned them on the fees and showed them the menu stating PER ORDER not PER ITEM he look confused and said that's what they told me but refused to list the fees on the receipt. So when it's all said and done the fee was being added to each item and then I'm taxed on the additional $3.00 fees as well. Today is a Thanksgiving day. Not many restaurants open to serve customers for today. I was lucky to stop by and ate at Super Pho. I ate a big bowl of combination beef pho. It was so good and delicious. The waitress was very friendly and offered a cup of dripping milk coffee with my bowl of Pho. Nothing beats hot Pho and condense milk coffee in a middle of cold weather. Once seated, I looked at the menu. $13 for a lunch combo?! For pho?! I'd never heard of paying this much for a bowl of pho before, so I figured it had to be pretty good. I ordered the regular-sized pho tai combo which came with a crispy spring roll (cha gio) and a soda. The spring roll came out relatively quickly. It was ok, maybe a little too flaky. Then the pho came out. Again, it was fine, but definitely nothing to write home about. A pretty good pho place. I got the tofu pho and the tofu was fairly crispy which is what I prefer. Everyone else got a beef pho (I don't remember which one) and they really liked it. I absolutely love this place. I've been going here since 2016 and I've never been disappointed! I usually get the beef pho and it's the best I've had. Super delicious but this time I wanted to try something a bit different so I got the beef with rice and let me tell you it's better than what I was hoping. The beef is nice and tender and seasoned perfectly. The white rice is steaming hot and cuts down the flavor of the meat a bit to give it an amazing flavor. For an appetizer I got the vegetable spring rolls and they were amazing too. A nice big size with a great crunch. The inside is filled really well. I could eat these all day long. The super pho staff also gave me a little side cup of their amazing broth after I finished my meal to wash it all down. Every time I've been to super pho they have treated me like family. I really really loved this place. I used to take my lunches here all of the time with my coworkers. It was quick, good food, and reasonably priced. Today, we sat down and literally 2 minutes later a huge roach crawled across the wall right next to my table. It was so close to me I could have touched it. Straight up, descent, 6.5/10 tasting pho with the highest price I've seen. $10+ for "regular" and $11+ for their "Super Bowl". You would think you get a lot but owner came up with a clever trick to give you an illusion of getting something big while giving you actually less than any other pho places around the dc metro area. They use a huge bowl with a LOT of soup while minimizing the actual meat (both literally and figuratively) of the bowl. Taste wise it could pass for 3 stars but still on the instant mix pho spectrum. Rolls are not that bad. But who cares. It's a pho place. Their cheap gimmick is laughable but it's sad that they pack the restaurant (apparently) during lunch because there are no other good options around and/or people fall for their "Super Bowl" novelty. The Pho broth was good and tasty and the spring rolls were nice. Nice and clean restaurant with friendly staff and a lot of seating. My only issue is the price, it was a bit more than what I expected to pay, $16 for a regular bowl and spring rolls. Probably the best Pho joint between Chantilly and the clock tower in Herndon. Also, the spring rolls are crazy big. One of my favorite things about this place is they give you sate sauce with your pho. The meat quality is generally pretty good too.
