Great food at great value and even better service. This place makes a tasty shawarma. Not like, drive across town amazing, but at 10.99 for a good sized shawarma, it's really good and fantastic value. What really makes this a five star establishment though is the guy running the place. Literally the nicest person, always so friendly and polite to everyone no matter what their energy is. Delicious food!!!! This place is fantastic. Probably the best falafel I've ever had. More texture in the mix, so they probably use fresh chick peas vs. powder. The roasted potatoes are to die for and the chicken shawarma wrap was not only full of tender, deliciously seasoned chicken, it was huge. And there are toppings galore. We came here before a Canucks game to eat better food at better prices than what you can ever get at a corporate arena. It's a five minute walk, so it's super convenient and soooo worth it. Amazing wraps and service! I found this place on yelp and we were staying in an Airbnb across the street. I ran over there and got takeout so we can enjoy it at our place and I was not disappointed! Both the chicken Shawarma wrap and the lamb wrap were delicious. He makes it to order and you can put in as little or as much of all of the items as you want. There are so many different fixins to put on including cheese, vegetables, different types of sauce, and some spicy stuff. I also got a Greek salad which was delicious. Everything was very fresh and good quality. We actually got take out here twice in two days, that's how delicious it was! The guy working here is super nice and very accommodating. I have to say Einstein is a pleasant surprise near Keefer Street (or International Village neighbourhood) and Yelp brought me here for cheap eats. I got Chicken Shawarma wrap ($6.50) for lunch earlier and it was filling and delicious. Meat slices in the wrap was tender and moist, whereas some Donair joint had dry pieces in them. Used to go here all the time when I worked in the area. Their platters are generously portioned, with fresh meats (my favourite is the chicken), moist, flavourful, and saucy (if you request their sauces, which I recommend!) Their platters are pretty customizable. The shawarma is good and generous as well, but I prefer the platters because you get pickled turnips (and the owners always knew to give me extra turnip because I loved them) and salad. With the meats, they grill them first before topping with the sauces, and you get nice moist pieces with some crispier ones... Mouth watering as I write!! The restaurant is super small but there are a few bar seats inside. As a few people have already mentioned, the owners are really kind folks who put a lot of care into their food and serving their patrons. If you go often enough, they end up memorizing your order and like to chat a bit as they make your food. Before you go, I suggest calling ahead to make sure they're open (they sometimes run out of meat early, like an hour before closing!) I just called today (4/28/2021) and their hours under the pandemic are Mon-Fri 11am-8pm (same as mall hours), and they are unfortunately closed on Sat and Sun due to a shortage of staff. COVID has definitely hit smaller restaurants hard, and this place deserves all the support it can get to stay afloat and survive. read more

It's a wrap / donair / pita place... It's right beside the entrance to the International Village Mall parking lot.... Pretty new place (they've only been open for about 2 weeks).... the owners (family place... wife, and husband) have been involved in this kind of business before (the husband worked at Pita King on Expo Blvd for a few years). Now they've struck at it on their own. Limited menu... chicken shawarma and lamb... a few combos with salads or rice as the side. It's a tiny place, but the space is used fairly well... there's a few bar stools spread around the front window, and on the wall. I had the chicken shawarma wrap.... as a combo. The chicken was pretty tasty and flavourful... the salad was pretty good (maybe a touch too much vinegar in the dressing... but only a touch). And thankfully they're making taboulleh for the wraps (I think this guy was the only one at the Pita King making taboulleh... when he left... no more taboulleh). For the price... it was VERY filling, and I felt I got a lot of value for the $$$. Would definitely go back if I was feeling hungry or snackish! Edit... Surprisingly good. I honestly did not expect the food here to be this good. After one visit, this place has become my favorite wrap/donair place. I had the lamb and chicken platter and every component of the platter (except for one) ticked the right "tastiness" box. The chicken was tender and not dry. The lamb was bouncy and not tough. The rice was moist. The salad was fresh. The platter was not overly sauced - the right amount of sauce was drizzled on. The hummus had a good consistency along with a good flavor. The pita was nicely toasted so that it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The lone outlier was the falafel - it was super dry and super tough...but that was totally forgivable given the tastiness of the other components. 3.89 stars read more

Wraps start at $6.49. To be honest, I don't know the difference between a shawarma, donair, and falafel... So I ordered the lamb platter, which was $8.49. The plate comes with salad, potatoes, pita, lamb, and rice. It was flavorful and the lamb was tender. Portions are large for me, and the prices are reasonable. They opened around a month ago. Staff are very friendly, and I like that the place is clean (I hope they keep this up). Since it's staffed by two people, don't expect to be in and out with your food in a minute. I have no complaints and can see myself coming here regularly for lunch (I'm Asian and love my rice after all). My only suggestion: aside from word of mouth being a good way to promote their business (and yelp of course), it's the smell of tasty meat that draws me to wrap places, eg. World wide wrap in Gastown, and Babylon in downtown. If Einstein Wrap House can somehow make the aroma of tastiness float through the open door, I'm sure they will have long line ups. read more

Large servings, delicious food, and under $10! This is a bright little restaurant that caters to those on the go (ie. lunch takeout, before/after a concert or game). It is a family-run business, and you are always greeted by one of it's owners when entering the shop. Many of the patrons I've seen here are regulars who all love this place. Alex (the owner) is always personable, friendly with his customers, and is genuine. The dining area is limited to stools with counters lined up against the front window and the wall; there are no tables/chairs. I love the food here. Chicken shawarma, lamb shawarma, donairs, falafel, I've had it all. Always juicy and flavourful. And Alex always makes sure there is plenty of food on every plate he serves. Veggie lover's haven...Had the super tasty veggie wrap with hummus and all the trimmings! All sauces are home made and the owner is incredibly nice. Great value and portion. I can't speak for the meat or falafels but it's rare to get different types of veg, hummus, yogurt, potatoes, rice and delicious and healthy sauces without getting fried falafels. I felt great supporting this family run restaurant. The owner was not only patient with my questions, he was extra kind to what looked like a homeless customer who came in, taking care to ensure he got everything he needed. The place is run by a husband and wife and without fail they are always sooo nice and friendly (I've probably been six times since first checking it out). Food is really good! Why even open a restaurant? Like there are a bunch of great donair restaurants in Vancouver... If you aren't going to do a better job or even an equal job, then what is the point. It's like, the food is ok... I mean there is nothing wrong with it, but the service is awful. The lady at the front counter who appears to be an owner or at least the wife of the owner really does not want your business. There is no one in line behind me and she is rushing me to pick an item, then says do you want everything on it & I reply, what is everything, she just points to a bunch of toppings behind a counter. I had the combo chicken/lamb platter and it was a solid dish. No complaints. Nothing to rave RAVE about, but a nice little place when you're looking for a healthier alternative to pizza or Micky D's. Everything was done well. The restaurant itself is kinda sparse. It's not really a bring a friend to sit and have lunch place, more like a quick bite before the game/movie/sushi places are closed kinda joint. One thing I will say: If you love lamb shank like I love lamb shank, then get here EARLY! It takes forever to make and is priced extremely reasonably so they're usually sold out at lunch. I've seen a few recent Yelp reviews that rave about this place, so seeing as it's close to where I take a night class, I decided to stop in last week. It's the second gem that I've found in/around International Village (the other being the Sri Lankan stall in the food court). I was greeted warmly when I entered and my order came up very quickly. The chicken shawarma platter had rice, a roasted potato, Greek salad and chicken shaved freshly off the spit. You also get a bit of hummous and tzakiki with toasted pita. Truthfully, it was too much food for me, as in twice the necessary amount! So tasty though and fresh fresh fresh (especially evident in the salad)! Next time, I might opt for the wrap, even though I'd prefer to eat things in plated form. There were some desserts on a tray (looked like they were wrapped in phyllo and covered in honey) that I will have to inquire about next time...once I saw my platter, I knew I probably wouldn't eat for the rest of the night. They also had samosas available. There is somewhat limited seating, although I think the traffic here is more for take-out, at least in the late afternoon/early evening. If it's full, I suppose, you could always take your food and sit in the food court upstairs, where there is always space. There are probably 10-12 bar stools, some facing the street. The chicken seems to be the most popular, both in the platter and wrap form. If you're looking for delicious, healthy food at a low price point, this is a good bet if you happen to be in the area! read more

Stumbled upon this gem on my way to work and my oh my was I surprised! They have 3 combos (chicken, lamb, falafel) donairs they come with salad and a drink and it's around $8! Their platters also look AMAZING. I ended up getting combo 3 which was the falafel donair, a Greek salad and a canned drink. Tiny place with bar seating. Staff are friendly but maybe not so used to chatty folks instead of those who just order and go. Nothing too special here except decent CHEAP eats: For $6.50, you can get a wrap that is as big as two cheap burgers. You can choose the toppings, including "everything", which will give you a decent amount of veggie in your meaty wrap but which will also cool down the meat in your wrap so don't expect a piping hot meal here. Sorry to say, they are also somewhat lousy at wrapping OR maybe we asked for "everything" in our wrap and the filling was too fat for the wrap to be tight enough. The result was a mess trying to eat it UNLESS you asked for it to be cut in half. TIP: Ask for your wrap to be cut in half. They will put it under a panini grill briefly. When I asked why, I was told that it helps keep the wrap together when and after they cut it. Once your wrap is cut in half, you get to start eating from the middle and it holds together nicely until the very end, which will still probably fall apart on you, so try not to eat these things on the go or without a paper bag to catch the bits. You can probably get away with carefully peeling off the aluminum foil into a "plate" but it can be tricky. Again, eat this sitting down! Food is mediocre, but bonus points for a filling portion being cheap. Aside: Yelp is asking for my opinion on Bike Parking near this business. Choices are "Yes", "No", and "Not Sure". How about, "Only if you want your bike stolen"? read more

Great service and food. The chicken shawarma wrap, my go to item on the menu, is always delicious and fresh. I always get it with extra hot sauce, and it has never disappointed! I've also tried the lamb do air but it isn't as good; the meat tasted kind of bread like and the texture was off. The chicken wrap though is 5/5, any day. Try ordering it without the cheese though if you want to save an extra dollar. There are already enough things in the wrap to make it burst. The lady who runs the store is very kind and always has a smile on her face. She answered all my questions about the options happily. I haven't tried their meal platters but I probably will one of these days as I work very nearby at the moment, and I pretty much drop by here at least once a week. Got the chicken shawarma platter to go for lunch. Tasty and awesome. A few points off, as the Greek salad lacked tomatoes (mostly cucumber), and the grilled pita was a bit dry. But the meat and seasoned rice was so good I couldn't stop eating it. Roasted seasoned potato was also solid. Service was quite fast, portions large, prices reasonable ($10.49 taxes in), and the staff friendly.
