I have come here from time to time because it is close to my house, and it's affordable. Today I go in for a cut and the "stylist" cuts it. I'm handed a mirror, "is that length okay"? "I think". I come home and wash my hair to find out my hair is short down the middle of my head, the length I asked for, but an inch off the center on each side of my head the hair wasn't cut. So I'm looking at my hair in the front and it's horrible. There was a good half an inch difference. I could have gone back and I'm sure they would have fixed it, but it should have been correct the first time. It's not like a small area was missed, it was both sides of my head. I should have reviewed them sooner, and I should have stopped using them sooner. But I didn't, and now when I'm not heading to work I'll have to get it fixed somewhere else. I've lived in San Diego all my life and have never been able to find a place that can cut my hair the way I want it without me having to continually specify. Maybe it's because of my watermelon shaped head. When I do find a good place, it is usually a high end salon (usually around $40) and even then, there isn't consistency. I've been coming here to have Carmen cut my hair for almost 2 years. She's tremendously talented! I come here every 3-4 weeks knowing that I am looking the worst for my professional job and trusting Carmen that I'll leave looking my best. Carmen is super friendly, personable and attentive. She has a great eye for style and fashion and pays a lot of attention to detail. When I want a new style, I ask her to find one that suits me and she just always gets it right. I really couldn't ask for more and can't imagine going anywhere else. I honestly don't think anyone else will be able to get it right and consistent every single time like Carmen can. Stephanie has cut my hair a couple of times when Carmen isn't there and I really needed my hair cut for special events. She's very talented and I was always happy when my hair was cut by her too! Pricing. The pricing for Men's haircut is $16 or so. Very reasonable considering you are getting top talent from Carmen (and Stephanie!). For an extra couple bucks you can get that hair gel washed out of your hair for a fresh hair cut. If you feel like pampering yourself, an extra $5 or so will get you the Paul Mitchell Green Tea Experience! Imagine how refreshing it is to eat minty come and sip an ice cold glass of water. Now imagine that, on your head. HAHAHA, it is super refreshing. The place is always clean and the rest of the staff is friendly. I'm always greeted when I walk in and my name immediately taken for the wait. Wait usually isn't too bad, around 15 minutes or so (you can always kill time by getting a drink at Starbucks or Tapioca Xpress). It's worth it for me and I look forward to coming here every time to get my hair cut! read more

What's the point of the app! Check-in, wait time are useless. I know it's not an appointment but if you check in for a 10am spot and the app says "0" minutes wait time then show up 15 minutes prior and then be told it'll be an hour! What makes it even worse is that I checked into another one that said 5 minute wait. Showed up and was told the same thing. One star was warranted for wasting my time but the haircut saved it. I have been going here for a long time and I have been happy with the results most of the time. I am a little bias because I have had the same stylist for nearly ten years now. I have followed her from two different salons. She has gone from cutting my hair to now cutting and coloring my hair. Damn I am getting old. I always schedule an appointment because it can get pretty crowded and busy. I have never had a problem scheduling an appointment. It is pretty funny that I do not even have to tell her how to cut my hair. She already knows how I like it. Once my cut and color is complete I always get a rinse and some gel for my hair. A quick brush off around my neck and face and I am good to go. I highly recommend this place. read more

My last visit to this place was quite negative. I wrote a complaint on their complaint website and within minutes the area manager, Amy, called me and listened with empathy to my complaint. She offered me another visit for free to make amends. The manager, Roxy, was a lovely gentle woman who did an excellent job on my hair. Yesterday (3/3) I went to supercuts at 5 and one of the hairdressers turned me away saying they closed at 6 and they had 3 people ahead of me, (mind you, they were mens haircuts) I just wanted a trim nothing big. I went to the other location (Otay Lakes) and they took me in with 3 people ahead of me as well (women's haircut). I've worked in customer service before and I was always taught that if a person came in 5mins before close we still had to serve them... I came in an hour before closing. BEWARE: Usually I go elsewhere to get my haircut. Once in an emergency Jennifer cut my hair at this location and she did a great job. Today, that was not the case. Unfortunately, I was in need of a quick trim and my hair paid the ultimate price. I arrived and waited for 30 minutes til Leslie, one of the stylists became available. She washed my hair and asked what I would like to do to it. I asked for .5 inch trim, my bangs to be cut and my layers in the front to be touched up. I didn't realize how bad it was because my hair was wet. Once it dried, I noticed that 3 inches of my hair were cut off and botched layers in the front. My hair is very uneven and I am extremely displeased with it. I will never come back and I will not recommend SuperCuts up anyone. read more

They were nice enough but chopped about 5"-6" of hair when I went in for a trim. It took me forever to grow out my hair. She left it wet so I didn't notice as much as when it dried. A month later and I'm still sad when I run my fingers through it. Won't be going back here. The price was right but the service was all wrong. I'm sad.... I'm just sad. :/ I want my hair back.... We had the most incredible experience at this Supercuts today. I had brought my daughter in for a trim and we had a good experience and left the store. What made this an incredible experience was getting a phone call from the manager shortly after we left saying she thinks the stylist we saw misunderstood the consultation and didn't trim her layers. Worst customer service!!!! I asked one of the girls to put my mom on the wait list, the wait was 45 mins. So me and my mom we just drive around. Then we come back and the girl tells us we need to wait 20 more mins. My mom asked the girl why she could cut her hair. She replied "it's cause I have 2 other ppl that are waiting". The place was empty how can their be ppl waiting. So me and my mom left annoyed and felt disrespected. I've been going there for years- everyone is always super friendly and professional and the salon is always clean. I've been seeing the same 2 stylists for years and they both do a wonderful job (one does chemical treatments and the other doesn't). As long as I've been there there are at least 4 of the same ladies there so I don't think there is too much of a change in their staff. Prices are fair and I don't feel like they try to upsel products to me at all. read more

At some point a rocker guy like myself needs to get a haircut right?! Going to the stylist to get a haircut used to be a big battle for me, mainly because I would go to places where people would not listen. Some of the hair places I've gone to in the past have made me feel like I'm getting a haircut by a robot that doesn't listen to me and only is programmed for the same style. I've gotten into some big fights with stylists, for this same reason, but I won't go into that right now. The first time I walked in here I felt a bit awkward because I saw an army of women doing each others hair, and gossiping and what-not, but I went back a few weeks later, and have been ever since. I've tried a few stylists here, but I finally found one I am comfortable with. So what I do is I make an appointment with nobody else, but her. These ppl at hair masters have been real good about my spontaneous appointments. Like last time, I called at 1:55, and got scheduled at 2:00. It was pretty awesome!! My stylist rocks, I love this girl, she's young, but she gets its and knows what look I want. That's the most important thing!! Try telling some uncool lady, or some robot that you want a hair cut that makes you look cool. Its not gonna happen. All in all 20 bux is a good price for a guys hair-cut. I wish they played metal while I'm there, but that's never gonna happen! read more

i DO NOT recommend this place AT ALL!! I think stylist Leslie was trying to set a record on how fast she could finish...didn't even ask if I wanted my hair washed, she just started spraying my hair with water. I have pretty thick hair so usually they section off and cut in layers but she just cut straight across. I normally don't go to this store but I was at Walmart and it was close but NEVER AGAIN. I went in today cause it was close to home and I had kid free time for an hour so why not get the trim I needed really quick. I called ahead and there was only a 10 minute wait. I got there and Andrea was with a customer and Martha came from the back to get me started right away. The cut was simply a trim. I was literally in and out in 12 minutes, so if you need something on the fly it's a plus. I'm giving only a 2 star review because of customer service. In only 12 minutes Martha took the excitement of treating myself to a haircut while kid free, to wanting to just get back home. She was very dry and I want to say, rude...but maybe borderline rude. I don't know if I was interrupting her break, but everything she had to say was negative. Didn't ask how I was or introduce herself and continuously insulted me. How the heck do you give this negative stars. It doesn't even deserve a star at all. KARLA who is supposedly one of the managers there...an unfriendly staff at that. Does she smile? He was done in less than 10 minutes! Wth? I go up to pay and this unprofessional "manager" turns to me with a loud ass voice with a room full of customers and says, "I think your son has ringworm!".....WOW! Are you kidding me? She starting ranting off that her son had it before so "she knows". Oh hell nah! He has exactly was he was diagnosed with by his pediatrician...which is a simple dry scalp (not quite scalp psoriasis but can show dry skin with of course a stupid haircut). Who the fuck is she to diagnose and run her big ass mouth the way she did? Not even a medical office is allowed to do that AND they are able to diagnose. Not only that but his haircut which I thought was fine was uneven! I spoke with Amy the district manager (?) and vented my frustration. She apologized and stated she will bring it up to her management meeting for this to be addressed across the board. So if you come across this type of service in East Chula Vista, request to speak to Amy because something is still not being corrected. This literally pissed me off! That is not how a business is ran. Get Karla back to training in both Customer Service AND school for cosmetology on hair. Maybe a class to teach her how to smile too for goodness sake.
