If you're like me, I am not a fan of ANYONE cutting my hair. I've had people cut my beautiful long hair too short, or cut it crooked. I went in wanting a summer look in a style I've never done before. I went in for a long pixie. The hairdresser I got was amazing! Her name is Michelle. She talked to me the whole time, asked if she was cutting my hair too short. I had to tell her it was okay to go the shortest possible because well, I knew Pixies are a short hair style and would mean more time between maintenance. She made sure the haircut was perfect and just the way I wanted. She was funny, personable and did a fantastic job. I will be going to her if I need my new cut trimmed again when it grows out. Avoid this location at all costs !!! Go any where but here ! I walked in on a Saturday morning with only one person ahead of me. I signed in and waited About 20mins to be called. When It was my turn i am seated, I let the girl -petite Asian lady - who was helping me know I want 3 inches cut off and my hair straightened. -I had my hair In a side braid- She then pulls my hair and drops it on my back so all of her coworkers can see & says I'm going to check how much it's going to be because you have a lot of hair she walks away and her and some red head start to LAUGH! Infront of all the other customers! Very unprofessional! She then immediately comes back and does not tell me the price and tell me this, " sorry, but our flat iron is broken, so we can't straighten your hair." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WHAT KIND OF HAIR SALON ONLY HAS ONE FLAT IRON???? at this point I was livid, it was very clear they did not want to deal or style my hair because of the length. I get up and everyone just gave me blank stares like oh well, bye. But I hope that someone of real authority reads this review! Just know I was willing to pay up! I have been going to this Supercuts for over 2 years; have brought also my granddaughters there; not always the best job on cuts, but okay. I realized recently poor job on the last cut on my left side, which wouldn't hang properly. Went in, waited 30 minutes to see stylist Haemi, only to be told because it was over 7 days, they would charge me for a cut to have a 3 minute quick repair of left side! I NO LONGER recommend this place, advise you go somewhere else, with much better customer service! I and my daughter will no longer bring the grandkids here, either! read more

I've gotten my hair cut here 3 times. Each time by a different person, and with varying results. Two times I would give them 1 and 1/2 stars and the other time 2 and 1/2 stars. The only reason I go back is it is so convenient. My biggest gripe with this place (actually it's true of all Supercuts) is the way that they push products (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) on you when you are done and paying for your haircut. The prices for their products is crazy! Why would I pay that much when I can go somewhere else and get it for 1/2 - 3/4 of the price? read more

I had the most horrible experience at super cuts in the lakewood mall location.I have really long hair and bangs, all I wanted was to get my bangs trimmed. The stylist cut my bangs so short plus no style to them and she even cut some of the back hair. She ruined my hair!!!! THE MANAGER DIDN'T EVEN HELP!!! she said " all I can do is not charge you for your bangs" I'm not interested in your litle discount all I wanted was my bangs trimmed. I came here to get my son who is autustic a haircut. He can be very figity when it comes to haircuts but the young lady who took care of us was very patient and did a great job with his haircut. I called ahead to check in, and when I arrived I was seen right away. I had extremely long hair that I cut 15" off prior to going to the salon to have them even out the cut I did. I hate that I am terrible at remembering names, but the hairdresser that cut my hair was very nice, and I am very happy to have exactly the haircut I wanted. Everyone I know is shocked that I cut my hair, but they all say it looks so much more healthier now. Worst haircut ever. To the girl that cut my hair, if you can't do it, then say so. You won't make money, but you won't mess someone's day up and make them pay 2 people for a decent haircut. I had always had a good haircut when coming to this location however there is a girl that rush into my haircut I felt she didn't pay attention to the detail because I asked for a clean cut and got it just a mess and after the back of my neck was burning me, and aside of all that because she was going so fast she kept hurting the back of my ear and neck. This is the worst haircut I have ever had in my entire life. I can not even begin to explain how mad I am. The haircut is at least an inch shorter on the right side. The lady didn't even part my hair she just had it all down and cut straight across. My bangs are curved on one side and straight on the other and go WAY to far into my hair. I asked her to thin my hair out and she cut twice and then told me to let the hair fall out on its own because if she brushed my hair it would damage it. The worst part is I didn't notice until she started cutting that there was hair from the last 2 clients on the floor, her station, the scissors and the cape. Now I have to waste more money on going and getting is fixed but there is nothing I can do about my bangs I will have to let them grow out. read more

I came here today. By far, the worst haircut I ever got. I clearly told the girl exactly what I want. She was more concerned about me than her job. She kept mentioning how my hair was uneven and how I have bald spots in certain areas. Forgot to mention, she also said "you are going bald." "You have bow-cut." She started laughing. I was aggravated because I never had this problem before. I kept telling her what to do. And she kept responding, that she couldn't because of the way my hair is growing. Great place!!!! I never wait more than 5 minutes and all the gals who work there are friendly, kind, and give great haircuts. I have been to a few other ones in the area and this one is by far the best. Its a bit of a drive for me, but is worth it. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I have been to this Supercut for over 2 years. Recently, the haircut quality have depreciated. I am a male so all I required is a haircut and/or trimming. In addition, I would appreciate it if they would blow off the excess hair. They never seem to worry about it. I always walk off with hair residue on my head, in my ears and on my clothes. Also, they do not offer gel anymore after the haircut. I like to have gel on my hair to see how it looks. Come on! A little bit of gel would be great after the haircut. I was told that they don't supply gel anymore for their customers after the haircut. I would always have to go back home and rinse off. read more

I've been going here on and off since I was a kid, you'd think now that I'm 24 and my mom hasn't made me get my hair cut here in years I'd stop going but no... I will never learn. I'm giving it two stars because of the location and most of the time cost, the workers and outcome of the cuts only get one star from me. I've had trims, colors and "fancy" cuts at this Supercuts and all but one time I was not happy with my visit. Most of the people that work there like to tell you want you should do with your hair even if you know just what you want and I have had one girl tell me she would not cut my hair the way I wanted because I would not be happy with it so I waited for the next girl open and got my hair cut the way I wanted. I had my hair colored once and the color was not what I asked for I told them that I was unhappy with it and the chick that did my hair told me she thought I'd look better with a lighter color, it took me about 20 mins of talking to them to get a refund. The worst thing that has happened here was when my hair reached the bottom of my back, I went in to get a 2" trim and layers. The woman did not listen to me at all and cut 3 layers 2" apart, the trim was about 4"... and nothing was straight, I talked to them before I left and they told me to come back in the next day to get it fixed. At the end of it all I lost about a foot of hair, did not have what I wanted because they had cut off too much and I did not get a refund for the first cut. Good news, I found out a week later that they let that lady go. I don't expect a perfect wonderful beautiful cut or color but I do think they should be able to do a simple cut or trim with no lip. read more

I have been getting my haircut at this chain since I was a teenager. It must be 20 years by now. And in all the time, I don't think the same person has ever cut my hair twice. I guess this place is just training ground for new stylist and then they take off. The wait time is unpredictable at SC. Sometimes its a 5 minute wait and other times it's over an hour. Even when you call ahead they don't give you an accurate estimate of how long it will take. I'm not picky with my hair. As long as it's symetrical and they don't cut me, I am happy as a clam. read more

My hair is extremely hard to manage, so finding the right person to cut my hair is a challenge. There is only person who I can trust with my hair, Jamie Garcia. I drive for about an hour every time I need a haircut and don't mind waiting if there is a long line because it is totally worth the wait. She always knows what to do with my hair, whether it be a bob, layers or a plain straight cut. A few days ago, I took my mother and convinced her to get a haircut. She loved it! I have been a regular customer here for over a year. The ladies are nice and they see to it that you get the haircut that you like. My last one wasn't great but at least I saw the effort from Eliza (I think that's her name). Then comes Jennifer. Haircut done in less than 3 mins. If not for the previous reference wherein she got the idea on how the others cut my hair, she would just go at it and chop away like she's cutting grass. She was in such a hurry, I hardly warmed up my seat when I realized she was wrapping it up. Side burns were uneven, one side was thicker than the other and she made it square when it was pointed before and also without asking my preference. If she's not pregnant, I would tell potential customers to avoid her. She will ruin your hair and your day. The 2 ladies were discussing how business was slow on a Sunday (yesterday) and were wondering about it. I think I have the answer...your customers are going to other salons because of the kind of service that you give. Overall rating for this franchise is 3 stars? Jennifer/Jenny completely fucked up my hair the last time I came here. She's cut my hair before and did a good job, so I don't understand how she managed to mess it up this last time. She even asked the manager to help her. She seemed to have forgotten how to cut hair because she seemed lost and like she didn't know what she was doing. While she was waiting for the manager to come over, instead of just WAITING, she continued to cut my hair even shorter! After I told her I wanted to keep it as long as possible. The previous time I got my hair cut here, by someone else, they left it completely perfect. I just wanted the ends cut and to redo the outgrown layers. After this cut my hair was ruined. Some parts were longer on one side and shorter on the other. It was totally uneven. I haven't cut my hair in 6months and haven't wanted to because of this horrible experience. I don't want to call out the actual name of the person. My haircut turned out fine. Soo much spray that my hair was super greasy though when I left. But my eyebrows... she did one strip on both bottoms and then was like ok we are good... really?? Then everytime I said they still need a little more she was like I don't want to overdo it.. what?? I finally gave up and paid and left. But seriously.. she didn't do anything on the top or the middle. My unibrow is as prominent as ever. If they can't do a non-hair cutting service they should feel comfortable admitting it and either turning down the business or letting another employee do it. Im a single mom living paycheck to paycheck. I wait until I know I have enough for a tip also before I go get anything done, because that is only fair. I went in for a haircut and was not satisfied I sat down in the chair and I asked for a trim and I explained to her the way that I wanted it , a simple trim . I literally was in and out in less than 10 minutes. When she finished my "trim" she wasn't going to show me the back of my hair it was very impersonal . She didn't say a word to me . never again will I go back I could've done this myself ... a waste of $18 . when I got home to style my hair it was slightly uneven on one side I wasn't offered a shampoo nor a blow out because that's what I initially wanted but from the beginning she just seemed like she was in a hurry to get back to folding towels . read more

I had a major event to go to a while back. I waited until the last minute and went to Supercuts. Boy I shouldn't have. The woman doing my hair really didn't have an understanding for what I wanted. My hair is a little short on the sides and the woman kept insisting on shaving the sides of my head (Miley Cyrus style). I told her no. Well she decided to take her time doing my hair (she even took a bathroom break). I have a lot of thick hair so I understand it takes a little longer. She blow dried for a good 20 mins and took twice as long to press. In the end I left 3 HOURS later with a worst cut, bad curls, and 50 bucks less. I got home and ended up pressing out the curls (they weren't doing anything for me). The other stylist brought a kid with her who ran around the entire time. Basically, you get what you expect from Supercuts. Cheap, mediocre hair service. I will not be going here again. I will continue my hunt for a hair Salon. read more

I took my daughter here during the Girl Scouts Locks of Love week. First of all the person who cut her hair, cut it wrong. She had me put it in a rubber band and cut it below the hair tie not above and then hand tied the loose cut hair. When we were done I was so proud and ecstatic for what my daughter had done that I didn't listen to my gut feeling. I asked the receptionist if they took care of the donation and he said yes. I was not given anything to fill out or anything to show that I was there but the pictures I had taken. The following morning I had a very strange feeling that something was not right. I called Locks of Love and told them that my daughter had went to the Supercuts as part of the Girl Scouts and I wanted to confirm that if it was correct that they submit the donation and how would my daughter get her certificate of appreciation. She said that I would have to mail the hair with a donation submission form. I then told her that the salon kept the hair. She said oh no, you should always mail your donation, because a lot of times the salon will keep the hair to sell it, I almost cried. I immediately called the salon and spoke to the manager and told her that I was never asked to fill out a donation form, she said I don't understand why they know to ask everyone to fill it out. I said no we need that for her recognition. the manager then told me well don't you just need the pictures? I said yeah for the patch, but that is not why we are doing this. I then proceeded to tell her that I wanted my daughters hair back, she said we have a lot of ponytails, how will I know which it is? I told her the color of the hair tie, she said well I will look but if I can't find it "I'm sorry". She said she would look and call me back, she almost hung up without getting my number. I waited on pins and needles for 45 minutes. I called her back and she answered and said oh I'm sorry but I can't find it, I told her I would be there to look for it my self. I bolted from my work and was there in no time. I walked in and she was doing something and when she came to me she says "ok ready to look?" when we went to the back she had my daughters hair sitting on top of a counter. OMG!!! She then told me that she normally gets the forms to submit but this year they didn't. I told her you know we did this with the idea that we were doing something for a good cause and then I call to find out that this is all wrong. she said nothing else but that I was lucky because she was getting ready to ship it off. I walked out of there so upset with my daughters hair in my hand. I have no proof but the feeling in my gut. Something did not add up. She may have sent it to locks of love she may have not. but I believe that the people of locks of love would like some proof or some type of submission of who they are getting hair from as opposed to a box of pony tails. Lesson learned. My daughter had long beautiful hair and cutting 10 inches was something very special to her and to me. I would not be able to sleep at night if I had not followed my feeling and went to pick up her cut hair that day. This was such a horrible experience. I went in after calling about 10 salons on a Saturday trying to get a haircut and only supercuts had availability. I had a good experience when Darlene cut my son's hair but this time it was Chammy (I think the only Asian lady there). I asked for long layers and side bangs. I am so disappointed at how she did my bangs. She did not properly cut them and they look choppy. When I was correcting her she would say "You can not decide"...ugh no, you can not cut hair to save your life!! Someone named Felicia that works there also tried to help correct the horrific job she did and Chammy still did not understand. I paid 67$ for a lame hair cut, choppy bangs, and ugly curls that she rushed to finish because an old man walked in and asked for her to cut his hair.
