Used to bring my son here to get his haircuts through the last 4 years. He's gone with Raquel, Carmen & Becky. The last stylist he had was Becky. He really like how his haircut turned out, which is why I booked with her again for today. My appointment was set at 5pm. I get to the shop a few minutes early and Becky says she's running a little behind and asked if I could come back later because she also had a 5:30 appointment or have another stylist cut his hair. I booked her specifically per my son's request, so I asked what time. She stated 6:30. I had my day scheduled so that would not work for me. I then asked, wouldn't my appointment get pushed to 5:30 then since she was running behind and my appointment was at 5. She stated that it wouldn't, did not explain why, then stated that she could only do 6:30.. I got up and stated I would go somewhere else then. If you don't like Hispanics Becky, just say that instead of wasting peoples time. I've been getting my hair cut here for years now. Most of the similar places around have ruined my hair at least once, this is the only place I've always been satisfied with my experience. That said, the service depends a lot on who actually cuts your hair. My cut is simple, but depending on the stylist it takes anywhere from 10 minutes to 30. Today's staff seemed to be less enthusiastic but were efficent enough. I lost confidence when I was asked to show with my fingers how long I wanted it, and the next girl helped was asked to do the same. I've gotten the same cut there for years and never been asked to "show them the length with my fingers", it felt unprofessional. My stylist made no small talk and actually seemed annoyed. We all have bad days, but who wants an upset person anywhere near their head with scissors? I wasn't offered a hot towel, I wasn't blow dried long enough to keep from getting hair bits all over my clothes on the ride home either. I wasn't even showed the back to be sure it's even. Despite all this, the cut is solid and what I wanted, as well as having taken only 10 minutes. Usually the staff is far friendlier and attentive, so I won't hold this less than stellar visit against them. You can call ahead to set a time and skip the lines, and more people seem to be taking advantage of it so if your in a hurry call them and make sure they can squeeze you in. The only other person waiting in the shop was told there were 3 appointments ahead of her, despite the empty space. Guess I got lucky this time! They also offer a free cut after 10 visits, a reward program that saves me about 15 dollars a year. One last note, it's always clean in here. No sticky, dirty floors. No weird hair smells or overpowering chemical smells. Just fresh air. The bottom line here is that the staff changes frequently, so if you find a stylist you like ask them for their name and about their schedule. My recommendation to the owners/operators would be to shoot for more consistancy, as that's what brings people back in for a second and third cut. I'll keep coming back as long as I never need to wear a hat for a month to cover an uneven cut, a situation I literally had after a terrible cut not far from here. read more

It's funny, they have a sign out front that says, "Best haircuts in Mundelein," and they were right! I'm in from out of town, on a very crazy schedule, and in desperate need of a haircut. The stylist asked all the appropriate questions, such as how much did I want to cut off, how I normally wear my hair, when was my last cut, and most importantly, did I have places to go after my cut. Because I was going directly to my next appointment, she did a dry cut so I could be on my way fairly quickly. Let me tell you, I use Supercuts on the road and at home all the time. My daughter and I were long overdue for a trim so we stopped by this supercuts location because it was pretty close to where we were. First, they were very friendly. It was nice being greeted and they were really sweet to my daughter and I. HOWEVER, the services they provided were less than average. For my daughter, she got a shampoo, cut and blow dry and she was finished in about 10 minutes. When her hair was dry, I noticed that it was still uneven so I asked for her hair to be evened out. The hairstylist who was super sweet kept complimenting me about how cute my daughter was and how great her hair looked and kind of dismissed the fact the hair was uneven. I asked her to even it out so she did but she didn't put a cape on and small little hairs went everywhere on my daughter's clothes and back. She didn't use a comb to even it out but just kind of snipped at the ends of the hair to get it straight. It is still not even but she said, "I'm not perfect but that's about as perfect as I can get it." I wasn't looking for it to be completely perfect, just some time and effort to make it as even as possible would have been nice. For myself, I did NOT ask for the shampoo and dry but my stylist still took me to the sink and wet my hair (and while she was trying to gather my hair back, she got her finger stuck in my mouth on the way back and only apologized because I mentioned something) because she said it would take too long to spray my hair down to cut it because it's long and thick. My hair is not too thick but it is pretty long. BUT it is the winter time and super cold outside so it seems inconsiderate to me to wet my whole head to save her some time and then send me out into the winter cold. Had she used the spray bottle, my hair would have had more time to dry as she cut it and it wouldn't be soaked. When I asked to perhaps get a little more cut, she said she thought it was fine as it is but relented. All in all, very nice ladies but very poor customer service. It seemed like they wanted to get done as quickly as possible and didn't want to do much work. I know a trim doesn't require a huge change but the effort and results were subpar. Online it said every cut gets a hot towel but when I asked about it, the stylist said they only do that for men or for guests who got shampooed and blow dried (which my daughter did but she did NOT get a hot towel service) I am pretty disappointed and won't be returning. read more

I'm not sure of the woman's name who cut my hair, but she did an awesome job and did it really quickly. I had a mop on my head and she turned me into a somewhat decent looking guy. You can get a coupon for Supercuts if you go to Dominick's and look on the back of your receipt. My haircut was for $7.99! It's also nice that if you have a long wait you can go next door to Subway or TJ Maxx. read more

Terrible customer service. Walked in and was told itd be 35 min. Came back right on time and was told sorry, i had to close for an interview. You can wait or schedule another day. An interview is scheduled. There is no reason she couldnt have told me to come back at ther correct time to begin with as to not waste my time trying to get back to her just to be told to wait more or go away. I would have been fine with an hour wait, just say that so I dont waste time trying to come back too early. I took my business elsewhere. Have been frequenting this location for 10 years ... BUT NEVER AGAIN. All of the good stylists and colorists (Mia, Alisa, Megan) have left for other employment. The people working there now are just terrible at hair in general. Went there recently and received the ABSOLUTE WORSE highlights and cut from Janet,who should relinquish her license to practice. It's so horrible ... I had to book the first appt. the next day at Mario Trococi to fix this mess. NEVER GOING BACK -- which is a shame. It USED to be a reliable, wallet-friendly salon. read more

Very unsatisfied with the work ethic that this establishment has provided. I have only gone in here a few times, the first two times were not too bad of a visit, but the third and most recent had been a disaster. I had walked in to see that there was no one there in the front. When someone finally came to the front, it smelled as if they were smoking in the back room. Not only is this unprofessional, but also very inconsiderate. When it came to the haircut, the lady had seemed in a rush, and not very pleased to have a PAYING customer sitting in her chair. Then, when it came time to pay, she had told us the total and asked if we would like to "add any more" to the bill, implying a tip. Graciously, we had given only a couple dollars deeming it only necessary out of courtesy. We got the receipt back, and had found out that she gave herself six dollars as opposed to two. Although I might sound like a stuck up, ignorant suburbanite, I think that this was very upsetting to see and experience. Most likely NEVER coming back. read more
