I've been to a couple of others too when she took her maternity leave and always professional and a good cut. No matter which Supercuts you go into, you know what to expect...a decent haircut for a relatively decent price (for men, it's $16 and with a shampoo, you can add another $3 to it, excluding tip). Didn't catch the name of the lady cutting my hair...come to think of it, I don't think she ever told me. However, she was very friendly and courteous, although not as talkative as most that have cut my hair. When I called to see what the wait time was, the person answering the phone was much more bubbly and excited to have a customer. Stopped in around 7pm on a Monday afternoon and there was no wait, nor anyone else in the shop. While they close at 8pm, when I left around 7:30, there was about 4 procrastinators waiting in line for the 2 stylists. When no one was there with me, the stylist asked if I wanted to try their tea tree special (included a haircut, tea tree shampoo-conditioner and scalp massage, and hot towel service for $24). At Paul Mitchell salons, this service is typical with your haircut, so I see this as Supercuts attempt to step up it's game. These salons, though, also charge double the price, so you get what you pay for. The massage was a little rough, just the way I like it (just kidding). In all seriousness, it wasn't a great scalp massage, but the tingle caused by the shampoo left my head feeling refreshed and invigorated. read more

I have been a regular at Supercuts for over 15 yrs. I have seen stylists come and go . But for the last 18 months I've been getting my haircut with Maria Roche every 3-4 weeks . She always does on amazing job !! She's very professional and she always remembers the way I like my hair. I went to get a portion of my hair dyed in the back with a group of my friends and their customer service is absolutely horrible. They are rude. Also if you want to get your hair dyed know that they will not allow you to do so at random hours of the day even if they have an empty store and many workers. Very unimpressed and would recommend a different location with workers who have better respect for their customers. Too bad there is no negative star ratings. read more

I'd been getting my hair cut here for about a year. Nothing great, but cheap. My hair is simple and straight. Number "4" clipper on the top, scissors on the sides. Got home and looked in the mirror and I barely had any hair. Basically a buzz cut. Went back today to ask for a coupon for a free haircut or my money back. They kept me waiting for 20 minutes. Several calls to the owner/manager. Final answer, they would be willing to give me $2 off on my next haircut. I'm done with this place. Do not get your hair cut here. read more

I was very pleased with my color and cut done by Maria Rocha. Maria is normally with the Newbury Park salon and was working this past weekend at my local Oxnard Supercuts. Maria was meticulous with my coloring. She also understood my concerns about my thinning hair and cut my hair to hide the thinning. Maria's personality made me feel very comfortable. So my wife has been there a few times for coloring. The first time they did good, after that they have skimped on the material and we see fades just a couple of days later. Top it all off was them over charging her card by $60 at her last visit; they said it was added as a tip by mistake!! Yeah, some 'mistake'!! And they never honor appointments, even when you make one for when they start working, walkins are always served even if its a minute before your appointment time. So, not good service and too many 'mistakes'. Too many, Too many, mistakes and over charging, we are staying away for good. read more

They are really expensive. For basic kids (under 10) hair cuts, $16, really? And for an adult it's $18. So you're telling me that a young child has as much hair as an adult?! Now onto their "list." They claim if you put your name down, it holds your spot in line. I walked in just behind another mom and put my two sons names down. The other mom ahead of me was told 20 minutes. So, we went home so that my kids could get a snack. When we came back, people who were not in the store, or on the list were in stylist seats and one was in the waiting area. The lady said there was one ahead of me. I asked how that was possible, being that the woman right ahead of me had her son in a chair, and we walked in right after. She said the list was in the computer. ?? What?! I looked at the list. They crossed my kids out and there were three names after my kids. WTF?! That's straight up RUDE. Even after my protest, she still took the person in the waiting area before my kids. If my boys didn't desperately need their hair cuts, I would be going elsewhere. I haven't seen the manager here for my last several visits, and the place is going to crap without her here! I'll be adding the picture of my kids names. You can see three below my boys. I would recommend better customer service to these stylists. They took adults over my kids, and my kids names were on the list. Don't have a friggin list if you aren't going to abide by it!! Don't take walk ins, if you have a list. It's really pretty simple. There are other salons that I will frequent over this place. Piss poor customer service. read more

So why have online appointments if it's first come first serve. Do not bother making an online appointment, just wait. 30 minute wait at least. I wrote a review about this place a couple of years ago, but it has changed. I've made this a regular stop for the last 7 years but I'm done. Never again. The last 4 or 5 cuts I've gotten have all been awful for one reason or another but the common denominator is the "stylists" inability to listen or pay attention. For this review, I'll just tell you about yesterday's experience. When I was seated, I was asked how I wanted it cut. "Clipper the sides (#3) and trim the top." Pretty simple, right? So, she says, "Like 1/2 inch or less, right?" "Yes." At this point I also stress to her that the way I have it styled now is the way I always wear it only a little shorter! In other words, don't change anything, just make it a little shorter. So she does the sides and back with clippers. Fine. But as I see the 1 - 1-1/2" pieces come off the top, I'm thinking "Oh, geez. Another one who has apparently never seen a ruler." So I figure whatever, it'll grow back. But here's the part that really bothers me and it happens ALL THE TIME - not just here, but at several "discount" hair cutting places. When she finishes cutting, she combs it STRAIGHT BACK and asks "How's that?" As I said, I made it a very strong point to let her know that the way it was when I came in was the way I always wear it, only shorter. That being, parted on the side, and NEVER straight back like some kind of a cholo or something. Did she bother to look at my hair before she started chopping away? Does she even know what 1/2" looks like? My hair is awful now. It's way too short and there's cowlicks all over. There is absolutely NOTHING good I can say about this place. It's been this way ever since Megan left. Why it's taken me 4 or 5 trips to this place to figure out I should never go back is beyond me. Perhaps because for years prior it was a regular stop (convenient) on my way home from work and I'd almost always been happy. Not anymore! Never again. I wish all stylists would learn to take a few minutes to discuss the customer's desires and actually pay attention. Also - study a ruler. Get to know what 1/2" or 1" or whatever actually looks like! Unless you're just getting a buzz cut, I'd stay away from this place if I were you - heck, I think they might even be able to screw up a buzz cut so probably best to do your own. It'd probably come out better. read more

Everytime I go into this super cuts I have an awesome experience. All the girls are very friendly and nice. The last time I went really disappointed me. I had called 4 hours prior to me going in to see if i can make an appointment. They said they don't do appointments just walk ins. They told me to call 10 min before coming in so they can write my name down. I called before I came and they wrote it down. I was In a hurry and was pretty stoked I can go in and out. So basically I took a seat inside and saw that there was another gentleman waiting along side me. He was annoyed to see that I was before him because I called ahead and said he was in a hurry like me. So the woman that worked there assured him that he was going to be ahead of me. I don't understand how that is okay. I called ahead. And I was like wtf...I guess their policy is pretty fucked up. That experience made me rethink if I want to come back. I may try the one in Thousand Oaks. I hate to leave this one though cause the other clientele is better who works there. read more

I was taken by this pregnant cutter who seemed to have no interest in retaining me for future services and was so uninterested the whole time as if I was just another body taking up time in her day!!! This place is horrible. What kind of complex do these people have where they take what you ask for, run it through their "professional stylist" filter, and you come out with something completely different than what you asked for? My hair WAS longer in the front and then it tapered towards the back with shaved sides so all I wanted was an even amount off the top to freshen it but same deal with the length. This bitch did that sideways so the hair on the left side of my head is longer and it gets shorter towards the right. And then she has the fuckin audacity to tell me that that's how it was already and she did what I asked and took an even amount off as if I don't know my own hair and SHE deals with it everyday. All I wanted was some length off and she did her own fuckin thing with it. Why did I even tell her what I wanted if she wasn't gonna listen? And she didn't even bother to blend it or fade it. Now I have to pay to get it fixed, if that's even possible. Only reason I came here is because I'm in the army reserves and I needed a cut before my weekend and I didn't plan well enough to make an appointment at my usual place. I knew these idiots were gonna fuck it up somehow. Next time I'm just gonna get yelled at by my command for the sake of not having to come here. Shut this place down. read more
