I went there as a new customer for a good trim of my layered bob. My layers were trimmed horizontally instead of vertically so now I have a step bob and my right side is shorter than the left. I will have to wait a few weeks to get it fixed because if I do it now my hair will look too short. Extremely disappointed. Looking for someone else. read more

I'm a Supercuts fan from wayyyy back. I worked in a Supercuts salon in SoCal twice many, many years ago, and I still have friends that work for the same location today, and they've been there about 25 years now! I love Supercuts! Since I've been in Reno, (April 2011), I've tried a few places to get my haircut (I'll be Yelping about Great Clips next!). Now, while I am a very picky girly-girl, my hair really isn't ALL that difficult to cut; and the older I get, the less picky I am about it! There is just too much Yelping to do to worry about my hair! :) HOWEVER, the one thing I NEVER stop being picky about is CUSTOMER SERVICE, and my TWO experiences now at this Supercuts have been EXCELLENT. I have had my hair cut by Jen and Michelle. BOTH were FABULOUS ladies, pleasant to talk with, very attentive to what I wanted, patient, and just very nice to spend 20-30 minutes with (compared to others I've met at other salons)!! When I arrived at this location, they were not busy, but the manager, Kim, was on the floor cutting a man's hair. She had to stop what she was doing, come help me, answer my questions, put my name in, etc. She was NOT RUDE, NOT IMPATIENT, FRIENDLY, AND VERY SWEET. Now, I don't know about y'all, but SO MANY TIMES, when people get INTERRUPTED, they get rude. KIM DID NOT GET RUDE, and I LOVED IT. I was WAITING for her to be a pooper, too, and she was not. YAY, KIM, YAY! :) I LOVE A GOOD MANAGER!! LEAD BY EXAMPLE!! Roll of the dice... Through experience I have learned that you need to get to know the stylists here. Kim is excellent and always does a wonderful job and a couple of others are good. Waiting times are usually less than 15 min. and the shoppe is kept nice and clean. However, on two occasions I have gone home and my wife asked whether Edward Scissorhands had cut my hair! It was of so many different lengths it looked like a shag haircut from the 60s. I had to return and have the cut corrected. Now I call first and make an appointment. read more

Well... I don't usually like making poor reviews but i recently went and got a haircut at this location asking for a fade and even showing my stylist a photo of what I would like done. She then proceeded to shave basically all of my head bald on the sides until I told her to stop. I could of cut my own hair better then whoever just cut mine so I am advising everyone against getting your haircut at this location. Waste of time and money for sure. read more

I called and made an appointment. Showed up 30 minutes before my appointment and still waited 1 hour after my appointment. They had 4 walk ins after me and they received their haircuts before me. The staff appears to be overworked and inexperienced. I will never go here again. read more

I am soo mad!! The lady that trimmed my daughters hair Cut it half way off was down to the top of her rear end now it's up to bed Bra strap!! Didn't even ask me anything she's 14 ! Washed her hair blew it dry , straighten her hair out product in her hair then charged me 81.00!! For that !! All I said was a trim, and wash! I will never take her or my grandkids there again!!! Through life we learn to not judge others by their appearance, for it is bad. I went into this Super Cuts looking disheveled this last week. I just moved up here from the Bay Area, and I have been doing everything from unloading trailers to renting 26 foot trucks and running errands. I certainly don't look like the West Coast Regional Manager of a National Distributor, but I am. Monday 8-24-14 and I walk into to get a haircut because I have to meet the President of a corporation for Racquetball at 430. It's 330. One guy goes in right before me, but I should be okay, as there is three people working there. No one greets me, and I did not sign in because believe it or not, I had never been to Super Cuts. So, twenty minutes later when my turn is up, I am waiting and she looks at some list and asks if I'm Matt? I say no, I am Tim and I had no idea a list exists. Well, Matt hears his name, and his rude little behind gets up and is ready to go, even though he and his mom clearly know I am next. So what does the dip-shart lady do? She takes one look at disheveled old me and says, "I'll just take him real quick and then do you, seeing he was on the list." I then said, "no thank you, I will get my hair cut elsewhere." I did let Matt's mom know what I thought about the situation before I left. Super Cut's employee treated me that way because she prejudiced against me based on my looks. She probably thought that there was no way I was heading off to meet a captain of industry, I mean just look at me, I needed a haircut. If I would have been dressed in my business suit, there is no way in hell she would have tried that crap. I ended up going to meet the man looking like crap, and all I have to say is. I was up in Reno for work a couple of weeks ago & had a day off, so I went to the SuperCuts near my hotel. I needed a trim & conditioning treatment. Don't know the hair stylist's name (she was approx 35-40 & blonde). Anyway, it was obvious she was either new or didn't know what she was doing (maybe both). My hair didn't feel any better after the treatment & I still had split ends. She didn't do a very good job at all. The price was higher than you would expect for a "discount salon". Definitely not worth it. Would NOT recommend this place. And, I definitely WON'T go back there on future trips to Reno. read more

We walked in to get my husband's haircut. His haircut takes maybe 15 minutes. We walk in at 6:30 and they close at 7. The lady was already huffy that we walked in. She then rudely asked how long it would take because she has not enough time and "multiple" services (no one's even in there besides us). Good job, we will never be back to this place. read more

I have followed my hairstylist from another chain store in my neighborhood, to 14 miles south to this Supercuts location. The salon is clean, and the staff greets with smiles. My stylist Stephanie Balsinger is great with all four of my kids and my wife trusts her with style and color. I appreciate that Stephanie knows how to properly shape and groom a beard, which keeps me looking professional. She even gives a hot towel clean down at the end, to clean up the fresh cuts. I highly recommend this Supercuts location, and Stephanie as your personal stylist. Call ahead, to put your name on the list! read more

I would give a zero if I had that option. My husband signed in to get a haircut was told it would take 15 minutes roughly. There were four people ahead of him and in the 15 or 20 minutes four more people were called. Not once did they acknowledge my husband to say it will be a moment so my husband left to go to Great Clips in the Smiths shopping center on South Meadows where he was taken to a chair immediately. read more

Watch out for the bait and switch :( Without going in to a particularly long diatribe ~ Supercuts does not garner $30+ for a wash and dry (no style, just dry) particularly when they quote a starting point less than a third of that on the phone. The stylists who took care of me was sweet and my hair was dry, but that's where all customer service ended. I will either stick with my normal salon or go elsewhere in the future. read more

Husband and I came in and got a hair cut this morning. I received services from Kim the manager. Not only did the other stylist dress unprofessionally but I got a haircut my 5 year old daughter could have done better. Now I'm off to a new salon to see if they can fix my butchered hair. "I have meetings to go to" Husbands hair turned out good enough to wear under a hat. I will hardly ever complain about services, but I hope this helps someone else out. read more

He always receives a scissor cut, eyebrows shaped and a senior discount.........We request the manager to perform the cuts. Now our froends do the same thing. Gave this place my last chance. Went in to get a haircut. And just like the previous 5 times, everyone working there is new. Is this where they train new graduates from cosmology school?? It's pretty neat how employees talk trash with me about other co-workers behind their back. The best part was I never got my sideburns cut, my hairline wasn't straight and my hair was blended so high that I looked like Bert from Sesame Street. Good thing I got the hot towel for 3 seconds at the end. That made me feel great. The days of having a regular hair stylist at this place will never happen. Horrible! Took my almost 2yr old son to get his haircut . I usually take him to teamclips in Carson, they're amazing! Since I was in Reno I figured we'd give super cuts a shot. She told me she couldn't use scissors on him, since he was so young and might move, that she would have to buzz clip him. I told her how teamclips always uses scissors but she argued that it would be safe...for her apparently. Team clips takes maybe 5 minutes and he's done and handsome. Super cuts not only left him uneven , EVERYWHERE, but she took forever! My son became impatient and at that point, he was done. She continued to try to trim hairs hat she get were long getting upset that he wouldn't sit still. I insisted more than once, he's done, that's good. She continued to try to cut with scissors. I had to say stop and go. Horrible! Will always take the trip to Carson for a great cut at TeamClips! read more

Worst hair cut place I've ever been to. I called in to get my place in line. They said 10 minute wait. I get there and no one greets me. No one offer to take my name so I sat down. An hour later 3 people have been called in front of me. They said I was suppose to just stand their until someone came to get my name. Sitting isn't allowed until you've checked in regardless of how busy they are or how long it takes for them to get to you. This was the second time this happened. Will never come back read more

Walked in and the person there didn't even tell me that she would be with me in just a moment or anything. I sat down and I asked her if they had a receptionist and she replied with "no" and went right back to cutting the girls hair and I then asked her if she was going to ask me what I needed and she said "yes, as soon as I'm done" like she could've at least told me it would be just a moment or something.... If you go here wait for Elsa, she is the best hair stylist there. I have been bringing my two boys(5)(13) for a few years now and they are always satisfied with their cuts. In a pinch we have tried the others there and find the results are not as satisfying. So call ahead and make sure she is on! She is worth the wait. read more

I moved to Reno a few years ago and have spent lots of money on expensive haircuts (between $55 and $80) -- some with curly hair "specialists". The quality of the cuts ranged from awful to not too bad. I decided if I was going to get a bad hair cut I might as well try supercuts and not spend a fortune. I walked it and was having my hair washed and cut by Kim within 10 minutes. The result was the best haircut I've had since I moved here. The price was $20 plus I left a $5 tip. The one negative to this experience was a very uncomfortable hair washing. While in the chair that leaned back over the sink my legs were literally left dangling (at a very awkward angle). At 5'6" I was too short for them to reach the floor and, unlike every other salon I've been to, there was no foot rest to put them up on. Come-on people, even if the chair doesn't come with a foot rest, get a hassock for people to put their feet on. read more
