Came in for a haircut this past weekend, a simple trim with layers. I checked in online, and wait time was minimal upon arrival on Saturday afternoon. My hairdresser was super friendly and professional, with a focus on "healthy hair" and a "healthy cut". In the end, she also insisted and helped me check my finished look thoroughly using mirrors to make sure I was satisfied. And I was. Plus the pricing at Supercuts is still quite affordable compared to many independent salons that do all the fancy stuff I don't need and often have much longer wait times. read more

When she sat me on her chair i don't know why but I just had a gut feeling she wouldn't do a good job and yeah unfortunately I was right. I should have walked out immediately when he sat me at his station and all his instruments were dirty with the previous customers hair allover them. He didn't clean them and when he tried to cut my hair and I brought it to his attention he simply blew his equipment off with a blow dryer... These are supposed to be submerged in cleaning solution between every cut.. Basic hygene... I was too tired and in a rush so I just took my cut which also was terrible... I told him I brush my hair backwards... He brushed it forward and made his own thing... Then he asked for a tip... I said no. I'd go back..I'm at a point in life that if he screwed up the haircut... Horrible service. Horrible haircut. This older woman with grey hair. She said she knows how to cut A-line haircut. She fitted so straight like I can just cut at home. My boyfriend was not help. He was 2nd person in list. They skip him and help 3rd and 4th person. That's ridiculous. Do not go here. It's horrible. I told her do not cut my front hair and make a sharp a-line. Ever since I moved to the area I have been coming to this location, never had an issue before no problem. However my most recent visit with my boyfriend, who needed the haircut this time, this experience was rather just disappointing. While the female employee was preparing her station, my boyfriend and I were rather excited and discussing about how short his hair should be, look, etc. We told her what my boyfriend wanted for a starter and said we'll see how it comes out and adjust (cut more or less if needed) depending on if we like the look or fix it a bit. The lady then interrupts me mid speech and said "We don't do that here. He has to know what he wants. We don't adjust. I just cut it." I was so taken back by her response. Correct me if I'm wrong, but employees ask their customers during the process of cutting if the GUEST likes the look. Needs to cut more? Shorter? Etc. u get my point. This female employee basically said they don't do that. In other words, doesn't care for her guests opinion of what is happening on their head and their hair. It was like she just wanted to cut his hair quick and for us to leave... I told her, "that doesn't make any sense, I've had my haircut here before and they always make sure I like how it looks. If not we adjust it accordingly." She rudely was all "no no. U didn't come here. We don't do that." Who is she to tell me where I've been? This location is 5 min from my house?! Anyways, I clearly could tell I wasn't going to explain common sense to her so I said nvm. She kept talking at me babbling nonsense (keep in mind I'm not even talking anymore while my poor bf is sitting there in the chair just wanting his haircut). I held up my hand politely and said, "thank you ma'am we're no longer discussing this, you can stop talking about it know." Yet she kept talking so I went straight to my phone and wrote this review. It was my first time to get a haircut at a supercuts and my experience was okay. It was underwhelming, but then again I just needed a trim. The day I came in, it seemed like the stylists on duty weren't in the greatest moods. Seemed like they just wanted to go home. The lady who cut my hair did her job but at the end I was expecting her to at least blow dry/style my hair after cutting it, however she did not do the extra effort to do so.Usually when I go to my neighborhood salon, the person who cuts my hair would also blow dry and style it even if it was just a trim for the same price of $25. Also, she worked on a man's hair before mine and took more than 20 min to finish his hair. I don't mind waiting at all but when it was my turn, I showed her a picture of a cut I liked and she just trimmed my hair for about 5 minutes and was like "okay, you're done." I asked if she could cut long bangs for me but said that the layers on the side of my face would not connect. I felt like she just didn't want to work on my hair anymore? I just got the worst haricut of my life. I asked for a fade, and answered all of the lady's questions, and she didn't understand what exactly I wanted. She went for it anyways. The back of my head looks awful, like she gave up on the fade half way. The top is uneven and choppy too. I had to take off my glasses for the cut, and it seems she took advantage. At the end I put my glasses back on to what had to have been a look of disappopintment, as she asked what was wrong, and offered me a hot towel. From the start I was nervous, since she used a much different technique than my liscensed stylist in my hometown, and I should've left as soon as she started. When I asked the lady for a haircut not too short, somewhere in between like a medium length she says she doesn't know what medium length is, after fuss she decides to cut the hair and it was a terrible job tbh, very disappointed with the haircut. I came in knowing that where ever I go to get my hair cut, my hair will be chopped off half the length (my hair reached my belly button, now it's at my clavical). I call in, they tell me to come in and when I do, they tell me they don't have time. I try to make a reservation for the next day they won't let me! They only take same day reservations. I come in, they tell me to wait 30 min, I wait for an hour, no luck, I leave.... What is wrong with Supercuts? They can't handle a simple reservation system. I actually never really had a problem with this store until today. I have eczema which is not infectious and is just a dry skin condition that depends on weather or stress. It can get bad but many days it's completely fine. They have given me haircuts before. But today I was turned away because I was told my skin condition was unsanitary. Which eczema isn't. read more

Cynthia is an angel. She salvaged my hair in under an hour. I'd gone to a different chain for colour the day before and my hopeful summer ombré dreams were squished with a bad blend and super bad damage on the ends. Cynthia recommended a protein treatment and gave me the cut I wanted. She was so fun to talk to and we swapped salon horror stories. When she was finished I could move my fingers through my hair again. My hair instantly felt better. It still needs to be babied for a while, but I feel like I can go out in public now. I've been going to this place for a while now and most of the time I'm somewhat satisfied with my haircut. However, yesterday I ended up getting a haircut from an elderly Asian lady. She was incredibly rude and doesn't give a flying f what style you want...she does what she wants. I told her I wanted an undercut and to part the sides of my head first. She doesn't part it and just shaved away the long ends of my hair that I have been growing out for couple months now. I was extremely pissed. And in the end, the overall haircut was not even complete. The left side of my head looked more trimmed than the right. Never going back here again. Also, she clearly and loudly asked me in front of everyone waiting behind me if I could leaver her a tip. Are you effin kidding me?? I should've handed her a barber guide or something as a tip. I went to this supercuts on a Saturday at 11 AM and there was nobody in the shop. I was the lone customer which was good for me as I did not have to wait for my turn. But this is really surprizing to see a supercut completely empty on a Saturday. The stylist here are really stylish but they do a below average job at dressing hairs. My stylist was in a hurry to go for lunch so finished my hairs in less than 10 mins. She did not even have time to ask me what I wanted. Her work was incomplete and I had to dress my hairs at few places after coming home. I certainly don't want to return but I might as this is the only hair cutting saloon I know close to where I live. Given any other option, I definitely want to ditch this supercuts. read more

This would have been a 5 star rating if it wasn't for a stylist named Gail, yes she was knock off 3 stars bad. Although I will say that she was not my stylist and did not work on my hair, (my stylist Belem did a great job!) but this woman made the atmosphere and experience a nightmare and my rating is based on my entire experience. She made me feel so uncomfortable with her obvious disgust and anger towards her customer that I had started to regret choosing a Supercuts. All I have to say is do whatever you can to avoid Gail, she will stall as long as she can before taking you to her chair, complain non-stop about doing your hair, try to get out of doing your hair, and then treat you like you just killed a puppy. The other ladies working were the complete saving grace of this shop. I did not leave feeling irate or annoyed. I went in for a trim but decided to live a little and cut my hair. I should've known better. If I could turn back time, I would've turned the car around and peeled it back to my usual places or actually just gotten a trim. The haircut was bad. The type of bad you leave the store with a sinking feeling and a boulder in your lstomach bad. The bad you get when you ate too many chicken nuggets in college at 3 am bad. I got layers on my previously long and shiny hair (RIP). Well, when I say layers, I meant "layers" as in keep the original length but add some volume but putting in layers. Holy s this lady (god bless her soul I didn't remember her damn name) cut across the middle of my hair in what looks like a poor replication of an avant garde art piece. It looked like steps. Okay, now I have steps. What's next. She also had no idea how to blend in said steps to look natural. Nope. She just put down her tools and told me to look at the mirror. UH NO. Can you please try that again. She cut literally an inch below where my old ombre hair started and my natural color ended. It was now a step AND a bar of color. After another try it still looked terrible and I decided to cut my loss and just leave. My hair went in smooth (after many months of hard work and care), long, and healthy looking. My hair now looks frizzy, damaged, and a s---show. She didn't attempt to talk to me at all until the last 3 minutes when she was trying to be subtle and think of convo to get her tip. My hairstylist was initially planning on charging me for a neck trim, but this owner/manager insisted that I pay for a full haircut. I just noticed that they opened one up in the San Jose Market Center on Coleman, so it might be a convenient place for people around downtown. It's fairly spacious, and clean. There was no wait on a Friday at noon, but I was told that after lunch it picks up, and weekends, of course. I'm sure that since this is a chain, there's not a lot of variation, but for ~20 bucks I was very satisfied, as the stylist (Eva) spent plenty of time on me and asked plenty of questions and offered suggestions. I usually go to the cheapest place I can find, but I usually get my money's worth. This time I thought I'd 'splurge' with a twenty dollar haircut....
