She never parted my hair before cutting so when I get home my haircut may be messed up. She soaked my hair and kept spraying me in my face, and would constantly ask me if I liked the length while I had my hair in my face. Girl I don't know if I can't see. I like coming here because it's conveniently located near my house and the stylists do good work and are very friendly. However, they are always running behind schedule. I always make an appointment but my last 4 trips in, I've had to wait at least 20-45 min past my appointment time before I'm seen. People who walk in after my appointment time always get seen before me so it appears that they choose at random who goes next which is extremely frustrating. I'm not sure how they manage their system but they need to rethink how appointments should be handled. If your time is important to you, I'd suggest going elsewhere. read more

Honestly was trying to not write this. I had my haircut by the older foreign lady at this place and let me just say I have no clue who hired her but they also need to be fired. Not only did she butcher my hair but I even went back and instead of giving me a new barber they gave me the old one again. And guess what she made it worse. For starters, Supercuts is usually a good experience. If your plan is to get in and get out and you book an appointment, (like people who work 9-5 Monday through Friday), I would not suggest going here. Your "check in" that you booked online does not secure you a spot. I booked a "check in" online and the stylist said it would be a 15 min wait because the person you booked an appointment with is on lunch. I understand taking a lunch as an employee, and promote only working on times you get paid, but this was an example of improper staffing. Also, keep in mind, even if you have a "check in" online, they will let walk ins go ahead of you if they show up first. read more

I felt like I was just a number and they tried to get me out of there as soon as possible, vice taking time to cut my hair correctly. Came here for a haircut after about 5 years of not cutting my hair, so it was gonna be a big one. They don't allow advance appointments so you have to make an apt the day of or just walk in. I made my apt for Tuesday at 4:15 and it was dead. There was only one other customer. I checked in around 4 and the hairstylist was ready for me after about 5 minutes. I showed her three pictures of how I wanted my hair cut - the length, the kind of layers, and a side photo. She quickly glanced at them and didn't say much. She confirmed with me the length I wanted (I was getting about 8 inches of hair cut off), and started cutting. I told her that I wanted a lot of choppy layers and the back tapered to a v-shape. She gave me one face-framing layer and didn't even layer the back. She also never showed me the back of my hair (my fault for not asking) so when I got home and looked at it, it was definitely a u-shape and not a v-shape. Some parts were also uneven. I've been to Supercuts 3 times and was only really satisfied once. I liked the length of my hair but the layers and tapering were all wrong. She was also super quiet and didn't bother to make small talk. And another flag - she never asked to look at the reference photos I showed her at the beginning while she was cutting my hair. Overall, the price is decent ($21 for an adult haircut) but be sure to really hammer down on what you want and ask to be shown your hair from all angles/sides before you leave. read more

They are ALWAYS friendly. Every time you walk in you get greeted immediately and they add you to the list. I won't go anywhere else anymore. It took me a while to decide to post such a negative review. I have been a supercuts customer for over 20 years which means, I find it pleasing to be a customer. I have gone to several locations and always been happy. A few years ago I wrote a five star review for Supercuts Encinitas. This first and last experience in San Marcos was drastically different. My hair was four inches long when I arrived. I wanted it trimmed. I asked the stylist to take off ONE inch from a FOUR inch hair length; to "trim" my hair. She left one inch!!! Usually the stylist gives me a mirror and turns the chair so I can see my hair on all sides. She did not. I did not know how bad it was until I got home. I was so embarrassed I wore a scarf for a week. Because my hair is curly, it is pretty hard to make it look awful, but she managed to do so. Except for those odd stick out strands, she cut it so short it was not long enough to curl. One inch, totally straight. On the positive side, the shop was very clean following pandemic guidelines and it had a nice spacious look. One of the stylists who checked me in was friendly, cheerful, and very pleasant. I see many good reviews, but note, my review is not the only one saying the stylist did not listen to what the customer wanted. read more

I have never been to a Super Cuts in my life. My daughter and I happened to be out and about at Nordstrom's Rack and she was in desperate need of a cut, so we decided to stop in here. I'm very glad we did! We walked in and were greeted right away by a super friendly hostess. We also happened to be lucky enough to get in right away. Haley cut my daughters hair and she did a great job! My daughter always complains no matter where I take her that her neck hurts when the stylists are washing her hair. After her hair cut with Haley she said she wanted to come back here every time because she was so gentle. She also thought she was pretty :) My daughter has super thick wavy crazy hair. Sometimes I've taken her places and they have talked me into tips they say help with that only to have her hair be more frizzy and puffy after the cut. I asked for advice form Haley and she gave me real advice about how to manage it and gave a nice regular trim. I'm telling you my daughters hair hasn't looked this good in a long time! It's the perfect length and doesn't look puffy at all. She loves it! The quality of hair cut for the price is amazing! I will definitely be back in a few months for her next cut! I had given this spot many chances and I got to say I only had three good haircuts. I called to have an appointment around closing time and by the time I had arrived there, the lady who answered the phone was ready for me, which was nice. Now, getting into how I wanted the haircut.. I asked for a mid skin fade. As she was shaving the sides, I was not turned to see how the progress was going through the mirror, (as if it's nerve wrecking to be watched or maybe they don't want you to complain during the haircut if they messed up. This wasn't the only time they've done this.), and she was practically scraping my brain cells with every stroke as she was saying "sorry, you have a lot of hair." In my mind, I was like well it's all shaved off so I don't freaking know what you're talking about lady but sure.. so, never in my life was I ever treated this way when I go get a haircut. I had also asked for an inch off the top and she took an extra 1/2 inch or more because my friends and family had quickly noticed and said that it was too short to only be an inch off and I had thought so too. The whole time it seemed as if she was rushing and I get it, I made an appointment around closing time but, it's your job so take your time because obviously my time and haircut was pretty much wasted. The two star is for the nice small talk and the haircut wasn't too bad, just wanted the fade to be a little bit lower because I felt as if it was too high to be called a mid-skin fade. Great place for kids! Our stylist did an awesome job on my son's haircut and was great with him. Super patient yet quick when it came to cutting his hair especially knowing how impatient 6 year olds can be! Prices are reasonable for kids and you won't lose out on quality that's for sure! We'll definitely be back again! If you're planning on going on the weekend, however, I'd recommend making an appointment. I have gone to this location multiple times and have always had similar situations. I typically can either get a decent haircut (happy with by all means) or I end up with something terrible looking. I get a basic haircut and just trim my hair short about once every 3-4 months because I'm bad about coming in. I was almost ready to stop coming here as it always seemed to be a 50-50 shot of getting a good haircut. However I decided to give it one last shot and got a wonderful person named Stephanie. Typically I never leave reviews anywhere but I don't know. She went above and beyond for me without doing anything I'm sure she doesn't do for anyone else. She trimmed certain spots I typically have to request. Even doing double passes on top of my head because I always end up with a few long spots. Even when she was blow drying my hair and saw a few long pieces of hair. Single pieces of hair she stopped and cut them down. Just her being herself was amazing and enough for me to come back within a decent timing this time to see her again and get an amazing haircut. I tipped the price of the haircut because just her being herself and doing those little key details that I've always had to ask for. Was more then enough to make me feel appreciated and wanna come back to see her. Where to start? My stylist was Izzy and she was adorable and amazing!! For now her bangs are rainbow colored and she's extremely friendly and talkative and does a great job explaining what's going on with your hair and what she's doing. If you're even a bit hesitant about your cut I'm sure she could put you right at ease. I called in and put my name on the list for 10 AM, brought my friend for moral support and showed up a bit early because I was anxious to get my cut started. I knew mostly what I wanted. An asymmetrical side cut. I explained it to Izzy and she asked if I had pictures but I told her I could never find the right ones and I didn't want to bring in something unrealistic (I have pretty curly hair). She pulled out her laptop and we found exactly what I wanted. I knew the cut was drastic but she was super pumped to do it and it made the whole thing more enjoyable. I don't know how long the cut lasted, the other girl working (Katie) finished three male cuts while we were doing my single cut. But half of my hair was being shaved off so I think she did it in a perfectly good amount of time. Izzy took extra care to make sure the lines were on point and that my hair looked a bit like a transition from short to long in the back. I could keep writing but honestly, this is exactly the haircut I wanted. Izzy did a fantastic job and I would totally recommend her (and this place!) to anyone considering their next cut. read more

Unfortunately I have to give 1 star. I've given this location multiple chances. They messed up my daughters bangs twice before. I thought I'd give them one last shot and thought theres no way they could mess up my hair (I just wanted a few inches off and some layers). Oh boy. The young lady I got seemed very new and unsure of herself. She was sweet as can be talking to me but the poor girl didnt do a good job. She cut it quickly and never ever pulled the hair from both sides to make sure she was cutting symmetrically. So guess what, it was soooooo uneven. The bottom of my hair on both sides was jagged and not cut to the same length. I realized how bad it was when I got home, and it was so bad I actually cut some myself so it didnt look so lopsided. I've never had phenomenal customer service at a Supercuts, so coupled with this last experience I'd say I'll never be going back to Supercuts again. read more

This Supercuts use to be alright but has quickly gone down hill. Today I had the worst haircut of my life from Hayley. Literally had to come home and shave my whole head myself because it was so uneven and poorly cut. I asked Hayley for a simple buzz cut and she somehow cut it uneven, despite using clippers. She even pointed out that her clippers were not working properly during the haircut and still continued to use them.....the staff has become worse over the last few months.
