1 star for easy appointment system. Now here is the review. This is the third time this Supercuts has done this to me and I will not be coming back ! What's the point of making an appointment if they just let you sit there while they have their preferred customers and choose to talk to their friends while you are waiting. I had an 1130 appointment today and I showed up a few minutes early hoping they would take me on time. When I got there, they had a few people in the chairs so I understand that they have to wrap up before they can take me. Totally fine. After I was sitting there for a bit two elderly women walked in after me and also had 1130 appointments and the stylist asked if I mind if she took them because they had an appointment at the same time, but it was with her specifically. I said absolutely! no problem at all because the other stylist was literally wrapping up with her customer. So now I'm waiting and the stylist finishes up with her customer and someone walks in who I think might work there or just happens to know one of the stylist and they were talking and I don't know what happened but she just took off and was gone for a while. No consideration to at least tell me she would be right back and I am sitting there waiting 25 minutes later. The point is it's hard to make an appointment with these people because they don't keep the appointment time. This happens every single time. In good faith I have them 3 opportunities and this was the final straw. I will not be coming back here or bringing my kids for their hair trims anymore because they don't respect the customer's time. I think this is a good reminder for the Supercuts store to remember you would not have an open business if you did not have customers. I have a lot of family members who come to this Supercuts, and they always complain about the same thing. So now with my sister, my kids and I you lost four repeat customers. read more

I was disappointed after waiting 40 minutes PAST my appointment time, just to watch one of the stylists go take a break with people waiting. I don't have a problems with employee breaks, but you need to communicate to customers that you are behind rather than telling me to sit and wait without feedback. Lack of communication is the root of my frustration. Done with this location. read more

Whatever you do DO NOT have Linda cut your hair. I went in and asked for a 1 inch trim. Instead I got a 2-3 inch cut with Layers on ONE side. My hair was wet when I left so I couldn't really tell. Went home to do my hair and cried. I had to go back to the store and speak to the manager on the phone . She had Angel send her a picture of how uneven my hair was..... over two inches shorter on one side with the layers than the other side. She immediately gave me a refund, Offered to have Han or angel even my hair out and told me to come back in a couple of months for a free cut. NOT the look I wanted and very disappointing. It was my 1st time to have my hair done in Supercuts a month ago. I requested the hairstylist to do exactly the same just like in the picture. It turns out like a military cut. I really don't like the haircut it was too short. Gosh for $27 I would have thought the lady would at least take longer than 5mins and at least check to see if my hair was cut evenly. The irony of the salon is that I read a poster on the right inner wall saying, "thank you for not cutting your own hair." Um... I think could have done better and spent $0! I have curly/frizzy hair and the lady wet my hair down - makes sense. She then cut the back, asked me to turn my head left, cut, asked me to turn my head right, cut and removed the apron. Never did she ask where I part my hair or try to pull my hair in front with both hands and measure the length. They always do this! She didn't offer to dry my hair so as my pink bra started to show through my gray blouse (from how wet my hair was) I put on my jacket. I went to pay and I looked into the mirror and told her my hair was not evenly cut. I even showed her. She tried convincing me I was pulling my hair from the back. Thought this location was better than the one closer to San Bruno, but I was wrong. Made an appt for 9:20am but the employee didn't bother showing up until 9:20 so her 9 appt didn't start until 9:30 pushing me back until far later. I just walked out and didn't bother waiting. My appt probably wouldn't have started until 10. Such a waste of time. Don't bother going to this location or the one further south on El Camino. You get what you pay for. Loved it. Super clean salon. Safe distancing. Everyone wears masks and I saw them wipe down and disinfect everything! Nice people here. I was a bit worried before going in, so I wore two masks, gloves and sunglasses. I'm glad I did even though this business did a great job with the protocols. $21 for an amazing cut. I had Raquel and I really appreciated how precise she was. She added a bit of oil to my hair for easier managing and a healthy shine after the cut. Tip well. They deserve it! read more

This review is for Michelle. She's been a stylist for over 30 years. I came back to this SuperCuts location yesterday looking for her because she had been stuck in my head ever since I saw how she shaped my daughter's crazy curls during our first visit. We hadn't even given her much direction yet she produced an absolutely adorable cut that my kid adored. My impression at the time was that this lady is a CHAMP at layers. However, I wasn't looking for layers today. At all. All I wanted was for someone to evenly hack off a bunch of damage and give me a straight bob. Fortunately, Michelle happened to have a tiny window in which to fit me before her next client was due. She listened and understood when I told her that I wanted a bob with ZERO angle (my OCD makes me want to pull on the long hanks in front). She listened and understood when I complained about the sorry state of my hair. WHY was it suddenly so hay-like despite my careful care? She opined that texturizing shears - which are overkill for my fine hair - had very likely been used during my previous cut (done elsewhere). She was right...I did recall those having been used and they had literally shredded my hair, producing damage that no amount of conditioner could disguise. She listened and understood when I asked for a bob yet complained that they always seemed to give me a triangular-shaped head. She offered to fix that with layers, so I relented and gave her the green light to do her thing. She tousled, tossed, combed, snipped...tousled, tossed, combed, snipped. Suddenly I was being whipped around in my chair to look at the back of my head. Whaaaat?! How is my hair so ALIVE again?! No more straw!! And the new layers she added were perfect for my weird hair, which can't decide whether it's wavy or straight. The way she cut the layers somehow transformed my half-assed waves into perky and consistent-looking waves. All for just $19 plus tip. Bonus: Michelle achieved all this while cutting exactly the amount of length that she told me she would before she started. I'm glad I trusted her to do what she thought was best for my hair. Wife asked me to schedule a tree tea oil treatment to go with washing and shampooing our two young daughter's hair.Kim on the phone assured me that both of them will be taken at the same time when i called to inquire and book appointments.I get a missed call and voicemail by Kim at the last minute to tell me that they ran out of tree oil.When my wife and daughters showed up they waited for over 30 minutes before being seen by someone else named Linda.No tea tree, no point in having an appointment, no promise of having both my girls get their hair washed at the same time.This is a total disaster and my wife wasn't happy with me on top of that because i chose this place.Avoid at all costs! read more

I don't understand why the staff skips around on the posted queue line. The gentleman in front of me who signed in on the iPad was called for his cut. I signed in right after him and thought I would be next. The barber skipped me to a gentleman that signed in after me. I asked her "was I next" and she said "he was first" which made no sense since I've been sitting in the lobby the whole time. Do not come here! Terrible experience! Awful customer service! Let me inform you of my customer service experience here. The hairstylist ,Daisy, was rude and unprofessional. So I come in and have the cape put on me. We start going over how the haircut is to be done. I have real short hair to begin with and this should be the easiest of haircuts for her to do. I give her the instructions of how to cut my sides and back and how much to cut on top. She asks for the clipper number. I tell her the number but this is not sufficient for her. She proceeds to berate me that she also needs the clipper number for all sides. I tell her the instructions I just gave her have usually have been enough to cut my hair. Besides they were sufficient when she cut my hair a few weeks earlier. This is when it turns left. Now let me inform you that at no point did I raise my voice. I just quietly listened to what she was saying to me as I was in disbelief. She proceeds to tell me that the information I gave her was not enough and that I should know which clippers and scissors she is to use!!! Excuse me, that is your job lady. That is what you get paid for. If you are any good that is what you get tips for. It is not the customer's job to do that part of your job for you. If your customers do not know the clippers to use or your work jargon, it is for you to educate your customers in a polite manner. I'm in customer service and that is how we educate our clients. She continues at this point with a big no no to any business establishment's customers. She tells me that I should go to the other salons where my instructions were sufficient. She literally is telling me to go to other businesses. This is a good way for a business to lose revenue and clients. Lastly, she does the haircut, it takes less then 5 minutes. its more a trim then a cut. We go to the sales register were she proceeds to feign not knowing how to work the machine and has the gall to ask for a tip. It seems this was the only thing she was really interested in. I can't really speak for my own experience as this is where I take my son for his haircut. However, he decided that this is his go to place when he needs a trim, which for his teenage head, tends to grow rather quickly. In a nutshell, the phone app to check in is great, the staff are efficient, and my boy come out looking great each time. Can't beat the price when you have to go here about every 4-5 weeks. Keep him looking clean and keep him out of trouble, that's what I say. read more

I would recommend scheduling an appt online beforehand (very simple to do). I noticed some walk ins had to wait a long time because they didn't have an appt, and there were only two employees there due to social distancing. Went in today one lady sitting in the back and another one answering my questions. I went in wearing a long weave. I went in to see if they could cut it and do some layering as well me I was willing to pay extra. She said they don't cut hair like that. I wanted a two inch cut with natural looking ends. I was told I have to go else where. That was my second time in a Supercut their shops always so empty if all attitudes are like them now I know why it's so empty. MY HAIR IS UNEVEN. Literally created a yelp account to leave my first review. This is the worst haircut I have ever had and worst customer service experience I have ever had. 1. Something that should have taken 15 minutes (I am a dude with short hair) took 45. Literally, she leaned against the wall to talk at one point instead of cutting my hair. 2. The haircut is UNEVEN. Also, not at all what I asked for, justifying the end result as "what she likes". She completed the service and then showed me the mirror. 3. Tip: don't trash an industry that most of your customers probably work for the entire time, calling people "entitled". Guess I am not entitled to a fifteen minute even haircut. 4. I now know your children's entire life stories. Did I mention she wouldn't stop talking? 5. Not a pleasant smell - A combo of BO and cigarettes 6. MY HAIR IS UNEVEN. I showed the stylist multiple pictures of a very simple haircut. To the chin length and layered. My hair barely touches my earlobes now. I warned her multiple times that I have wavy hair and came in with dampish hair. She cut it with zero forethought of how it would shrink. On top of that the cut is just messy. The bangs are not blended at all and mushroom up. I cut my own hair better when we were in lockdown. I also gave her a heads up that I have an undercut which she said she would keep covered...wrong again. She did "clean" my neck up for me which I thought was nice. That was until I got home and saw that it was super crooked. And there were red marks on my neck from the clipper. I know I could of said something while she cut, but it wasn't going to make the hair grow back. I paid and tipped her over 50%, because I had hoped that she had just trimmed a bit to much and styled it bad. Worse haircut ever. Honestly contemplated shaving my head. She could of asked me to see the pictures again. The San Bruno location has much better stylists this one was just more convenient for me that particular day. read more

I've gotten a few hair cuts from Michelle previously. Only once did my hair come out good. The other few times i complained all week that my hair was crooked. But this girl talks and talks and talks. She will NOT shut up. She talked so much once she messed up my hair cut! How can you mess up someones hair when its your PROFESSION to cut hair?! Anyways... She kept talking and she cut my back of my head wrong. Today, she totally dissed me and cut someone elses hair even tho i was waiting for about 30mins (he wasnt a phone in either... he was a friend or something)... Still, I needed to get my daughter's hair cut before school started, and being quite poor at the moment, we slipped into the South SF Supercuts, hoping for the best. What my daughter left with was a crooked haircut with bangs that are waaay too short. School starts tomorrow, and the poor kid is a tad traumatized. Absolutely horrific experience. I only gave this a one star because I actually have to rate it; wouldn't let me give 0 stars. My girlfriend and I came in to get a haircut, both very simple styles. I wanted short sides and a slightly longer top. The guy barely cut the top and didn't even style it correctly. My girlfriend simply wanted a trim, not much to cut off and layers. Did not cut any layers and cut it way too short. When she asked him if he did the layers, he just said "ok thank you" and began to take off the apron thing to let her go. NEVER coming here again, and if we ever do, NEVER letting him touch our hair again. I am very disappointed. Girlfriend is outright furious, to say the least. I found this place on Yelp & decided I would check it out after cost cutters provided HORRIFIC service, I decided to try somewhere new. I took my dad & my little brother to get hair cuts & we walked in & immediately they had a seat for both of them! It's rare you get seated so quickly w/no appt. They did amazing cuts on both my dad & my brother ! Love this place & the staff. The ladies are all sweethearts ! especially Tamara ! Always a nice place to go when I'm in a hurry and have to get my hair cut when my barber is not available. They're always willing to take me on a walk in basis like today right before Thanksgiving and I like coming to visit the receptionist cuz shes so tall and pretty. Get it girl! The businesses photos need to be seriously updated though, half the photos are generic corporate ones and not representative of the diverse people that work there. The boys go to Supercuts in an emergency and they always go to Cam. Even if we haven't been there in a while, she always remembers us. She takes her time and really does a great job. My husband is super-picky with his hair and he'd never let just anyone cut it. He trusts Cam and so do I. My son will actually sit still for her. Once, I tried to get my son's hair cut and Cam wasn't there. The girl who got him refused to cut his hair because he wouldn't sit still. I left disappointed and annoyed. Some customers clearly have very specific visions of what they want. I tend to rely on the expertise of the stylists. :-) In terms of star rating, I'm a bit at a loss. Terrible experience. I was in the area, and decided to get a haircut at this location I've never been to before. I tried to walk in on a Saturday at 6:15pm (they close at 7pm), but the door was locked. Lights were on, but the place was nearly empty except for this older lady behind the counter. She slowly came to the door, unlocked it, and held it open a couple inches as if to prevent me from coming in. She asked if I had an appointment. I told her that I did not, but asked if they took walk-ins. She said yes, but it's almost closing time, and they want to close the shop. (Really?! Closing a whole 45 minutes early???). Awkward pause in the conversation. At this point I did a double-take, looked at the business hours painted on the window, then back to her. She briskly told me it's almost closing time, that I need come back to tomorrow, and then locked the door in front of me. While I was walking back to my car, at least 2 other people tried to walk-in and get a haircut. She did the same routine on them, and sent them away. She then turned out the lights, and was gone by about 6:20pm. I have never ever seen a haircut shop turn customers away like that. Never coming back. read more

I come here off/on. When my usual barber is in some tropical island or something, then I may come here. They were quite empty for a Saturday afternoon. I expected many more people. The front desk person told me the wait is about an hour. I told her no problem and I can wait. 5 minutes later, I got someone! A lady who is usually there when I get my haircut wasn't there, so I got a young, hip Asian guy. I asked just to shorten everything. I get a #2 haircut, which is pretty short. [A-only review] Yes, my wife "lets" me get haircuts at Supercuts. However, she says I should avoid this branch because they're inconsistent. Sadly, it's true. I split my time between this one and the one on Sloat, but this one seems to be the more inconsistent one of the two. Then again, the wait is much shorter and oddly, they charge less. The staff is nice, but aren't entertaining. Not that I pay $15 to get a bowl cut and get a stand-up act, but it'd be nice to engage with the person that's cutting your hair. I can't watch TV, nap, or read, so I just sit there, staring at myself with a stupid grin on my face. They have a PS2 with a Spiderman game that's older by half of my cousins. But it's a distraction that's nice for customers. It is also why I don't give this place 1 star. In short, this place is still tolerable and I like the staff. That's why I come back. However, their expertise should be in cutting hair and that, sadly, they do not do well.
