I took my truck in to have tie tire rod ends to be installed on the truck and a front in alignment I got the truck back they only put two rods on no alignment and charge me the same price In the process they're supposed to put a gearbox on they didn't bleed the system properly that caused the brake booster to go out and a power steering pump to go out they done this twice I got the truck back from them no power steering and no brakes and they broke the power steering reservoir box and tried gluing it back together instead of replacing it like they should have Too much prior to taking the truck in I had brand new calipers rotors drums and pads a complete brake job put on the truck they showed me a report that said that I need a new brakes on my truck I looked at them like they were crazy because they are you can see that everything is brand new they were trying to sell me something that I didn't need a complaint was filed with the bureau of automotive repairs I'd be scared to let these people work on my grandbabies tricycle read more

This shop treats their employees like crap, no safety no nothing walked in one day to an employee doing their job but being yelled at. All work is done quick and timely for payment otherwise let's not to mention beer runs after 4:00pm while guys are still working on trucks yet offer a beer. Don't expect timlely manner. read more

On a road trip to Nevada and lost Turbo boost in our diesel pusher motorhome. Pulled off the side of the road and began looking for someone available at 4pm on a holiday weekend. Luckily we were referred to Superior and Abel showed up within an hour to help us out. They diagnosed the problem and even had Bill the service manager drive out to the roadside as well. Nearest turbo was in Las Vegas so Abel drove that night roundtrip to get the part back to us ASAP. With the motorhome safely waiting repair at the Superior shop, the staff were professional and courteous while we waited for the turbo to arrive. The mechanics were great and knowledgeable, hardworking guys that worked around the clock. Corbin took over afterhours and finished the job so we could get back on the road. A huge problem took these guys less than 24 hours to resolve and our family was able to continue on with what ended up being one of our best vacations. These guys saved our vacation. Only 2 hours on the road and The Beaver wasn't doing so good. After a couple hours, we found out there was rust in fuel tank. These guys suck. Period. They consistently told me my RV would be ready next week. And .... Nope. 9 months. Missed 3 trips. In addition they didnt fix even half the things i needed fixed but i was so over this place i went and got the rv and took it elsewhere. These guys are GREAT!, Took my RV in to have an Air Suspension system installed, this also required them to replace the leaf springs, Trac bar, install air bags, and do some fabrication work. Not only did they do a great job but came in right in the middle of the written estimate, and after the road test went over the work to insure everything was tight and secure. We had some work done on our RV and an issue came up because we have an extended warranty and part of the needed work would have been covered by the warranty. However, Superior does not work with insurance companies because they often struggle with payment issues. We explained to them that we have to use it and will pay them and have the insurance company pay us for the bill if they will just call the insurance company and tell them what work will be done, and that an inspection may be required. When it finally came time to pick up our RV we found that they had not called the insurance company until after the work was completed, therefore the claim was denied. After extensively speaking with John, it was made right. I will definitely give Superior repeat business. read more

We had an excellent experience at Superior Equipment Repair when our 2004 Winnebago Journey Diesel Pusher had the Check Engine light come on after starting it up in the morning. This is after running perfectly while jumping up and down the foothills between Harvest Hosts sites for the last 5 days. After checking all the fluids we decided to head out but the Freightliner/Cummins XC Chassis was in Limp Home mode meaning it would only rev to 1500 rpm and cut out! We knew we needed Professional help. We limped about 5 miles into Auburn to the local Napa Auto Parts who suggested Superior just down the road. We pulled into their lot (On a Sunday) and called their number and Bill P. answered! They have 24 hour mobile service! Evan showed up within a short time and looked things over but said it needs to go down the road a little further to their big truck shop in Newcastle. We slowly limped down highway 80 to their nice facility, luckily it was all down hill. Monday Morning (Martin Luther King Day) came and they were BUSY. But they took the time and plugged in the diagnostic equipment and found the culprit was a bad VGT Turbo actuator assembly that needed to be replaced. (We also had them replace the Air Filter Canister while Jon A had all this apart). Unfortunately there were no Turbo assembly's available locally so it needed to be shipped via Freight to Sacramento airport which one of the guys drove down to pick up. It finally arrived on Wednesday in its Authentic Cummins box and Jon A. was able to quickly replace the turbo. While at it, he found one of the turbo steel braided cooling hoses had been chaffing on something and needed to be replaced. It would be catastrophic if it sprung a leak and he didn't feel comfortable re-using it. Again, there were none of these hoses locally either but they were able to have a local hose shop make one up and deliver it. We were amazed that Jon A. could complete all this work from UNDER the coach! Jon did not need to come in and get under the bed to access the engine area at all. Although we had to wait a few days for parts, Bill P. and his team took great care of us knowing we were in the middle of a trip and even allowed us to plug into power while we were parked. All in all it was as good of an experience as it could have been; the guys are professionals and I would suggest Superior Equipment for any job large or small. We will definitely return for any work we need done (unless we are in Limp Home mode and cant make the 150 mile trip from home). We will just plan a trip out this way. Be aware that Superior Equipment Repair is not licensed by the California Bureau of automotive Repair, so there is little you can do to protect yourself form their bad business practices. If they give you an estimate, and when you go in to pick up your vehicle the bill is higher, there is no place you can go, short of going to court, to resolve your problem. I took my Monaco diesel pusher in to superior equipment repair to have some minor work done. When I dropped the coach off the individual that took the keys did not even write up a work order. I was told I would get a call. THEY DID NOT EVEN WRITE DOWN MY PHONE NUMBER. When I called to check on the status of my coach and get an estimate costs I was told that the work was already complete BUT there was another problem. i was told that another customer had hit my coach and ripped off a $1000 drivers side mirror. THEY NEVER GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF MY INITIAL REPAIRS BEFORE PERFORMING THE WORK. They did replace the mirror however there were also 2 LARGE SCRATCHES ON MY COACH THAT THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT. When I went to pick up my coach I was told that my bill was over $1100. They charged me more than 8 hours for work I later had estimated at 2 other shops for 3 hours or less. HAD THEY GIVEN ME AN ESTIMATE IN ADVANCE, LIKE LICENSED SHOPS ARE REQUIRED, I NEVER WOULD HAVE HAD THEM DO THE WORK. I have been in the automotive industry for 36 years so I know what charges should be but when I asked Ed about the excessive charge and lack of an approved estimate he just shrugged his shoulders. When I told Ed that I obviously would not come back his response was "OH WELL". Shops that are licensed by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair are required to give you a written estimate before doing the work and cannot change that estimate without phone approval. Superior Equipment Repair is not bound by those rules and take advantage of that situation. I definitely DO NOT recommend this shop to anyone. GO TO SOMEONE THAT IS LICENSED AND YOU HAVE RECOURSE WITH IF THEY GOUGE YOU OR DAMAGE YOUR VEHICLE. read more
