Again false none of the extra charges were told or even explained. When I asked for an itemized breakdown of the labor rates I got handed a bill and they're not anywhere to be found. I got a dumb facial response from the manager of the shop who tried the claim he told me over the phone. This is completely false. I paid the bill to get my truck back. * BE VERY CAREFUL - DISHONEST BILLING PRACTICES AND ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY * I had a terrible experience with Diesel Performance Specialists in Rocklin, CA. I signed a document for a $313 diagnostic. When I came back, the bill had increased to over $1,900 (WITHOUT MY APPROVAL). As soon as I walked in to pick pick up my truck, they tried to rush to have me sign an updated diagnostic paperwork that showed the new amount. After I read through it and refused to sign the new paperwork, they told me I couldn't get my truck back unless I paid. That's not just bad business, it's COERCION. Then, the "Sales Manager" Tommy called the owner, Dennis to come out, and after hearing me out, he said he would "meet me in the middle" and release my truck to me if I paid 1/2. I told him that's not fair because I never approved any additional work on the truck, especially because after looking at the detailed notes of the technician's first $313 diagnostic, the issue was already found, but I was never told that! I am now forced to file a BAR complaint against this shop as well as see them in Civil Small Claims Court. read more

Tommy and the staff at diesel performance have been nothing short of stellar. Every time I have called, Tommy has always told me to bring it in as fast as I can, and he will get it looked at. I hate to admit that I have spent more money fixing this truck than I have in purchasing it, but that's just the way it goes. Tommy has always done his best to keep the cost down, but always assured me this had to get fixed or we had no choice. They know that my truck is the workhorse of my operation as I own a food trailer. this place is a joke. Please do all your research before you go here. There are many other shops and Sacramento and Roseville that are a lot cheaper and don't try and take you for all your money. I spent over $15,000 and my truck is still not fixed for smog. It was the catalytic converters the whole time and they charge me for a new wiring harness a new DEF system and mound of other things that was unnecessary for smog after I took it to the smog station they said I overpaid for the truck at that shop. Please take your vehicle somewhere else's place is garbage and they charge way too much. read more

Exorbitant costs! I brought F250 for repair and $311 diagnosis showed IPR failure. I bit the bullet and figured figured there was a bunch of labor costs. I was wrong.... The invoiced showed over $700 of mark-up on Ford sourced parts. I was shocked at DPS 80-100% markup on parts. Examples: IPR - Ford price $494 and marked up to $920 by DPS , Injector Pressure Sensor - Ford price $191 DPS marked up to $389. I was told that they only use and sourced these parts from directly Ford. After reviewing my invoice and I questioned the parts price, as I was assuming there was an error, the service advisor said he would look into it. I called back and was told that "corporate sets those rates, there is no error and there is nothing we can do about it." I would strongly suggest finding a shop that doesn't fleece customers with exorbitant mark-ups. read more

I called on a Friday afternoon when my truck broke down on the way home. I was told that they would tow it to their shop for free and take a look at it. Monday afternoon I receive a call that they have found the problem. My vehicle has 5 exhaust sensors in it.. I was told that 1 sensor has failed, two are going bad, and that I should replace all 5 sensors. They told me I should replace all 5 sensors and that it would be 2500$. Luckily, i have a little knowledge in electrical (my profession) and some knowledge in cars to know that this was fishy. It is very rare for multiple sensors to start failing at once and why replace other sensors that are not broken? Their reason "they will all fail and you will be back" I told him I did not like his diagnosis and that I would be taking my truck elsewhere for repairs. He then told me that I owe him 315$ for diagnosis which had never been discussed on the initial phone call I had on the previous Friday. Just for laughs I had my father call and tell them his truck broke down and it needs to be looked at and they said they would tow it for free and also diagnose it FOR FREE. Not only did they quote me a ridiculous price on parts that did not need replacing they tried to charge me for diagnosis of which they told my father they do for free.. I was able to get my truck fixed at another shop for 380$ and it has been running great for a couple weeks now. Luckily I am not a naive otherwise they would have easily took me for my money. Just received a phone call from Dave at DPS regarding my last service and Yelp review resulting from that service. Dave apologized for what happened, indicating he truly thought he covered the total cost for my service. He agreed that some pricing was out of line, but often he just plugs things in the computer, and it posts the appropriate pricing. To make it up, he offered a free oil change and fuel filter service the next time my RV is in need of servicing. Since this last service cost the equivalent of two services, I said that would be fair. Apparently, there system will notify me via email next August regarding a free service. read more

This was an incredible team effort! I came in with a 1990 Hyundai with a bad transmission and motor. I had been using it to move cattle to and from my ranch for years. The estimate for the repair was crazy high, but what option was there. To my surprise, when I came in to pick up my car it looked just like a 2015 1 ton black Duramax. These people work wonders. Can't say enough GREAT things about this shop. To start if you have a diesel, it's very tough to find a dependable/reliable with great diagnostics and good customer service repair center. And if you own a diesel, you also know it isn't cheap to have repairs done and it really doesn't take much to break the bank no matter where you go. Unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way. Wasting my money and TIME at other diesel repair shops until I found Diesel Performance in Rocklin. To mention a few, a known shop in Orangevale and a known shop in Folsom. Both of which I spent over 5k with them, replacing parts not needed only to leave still having the same issues. My 1999 Dodge, these guys were determined to find the issue that was plaguing this truck for YEARS that other shops could not figure out! Finally, it was diagnosed and repaired correctly. When picking up my truck it was nice not to have greasy handprints all over the hood/door/interior, extra shop towels left under the hood, loose engine parts found when picking up and upon getting home, driving away still having the same issue when they told me "Everything works great" and a DEAD battery when they handed me the keys to drive it away. Diesel Performance is by far the best when it comes to diagnostics and customer service on diesels. If I could give this team more than 5 stars I would. My truck literally runs/drives like it did when it came off the showroom floor! I would say go see David the Service Advisor but really both advisors are great to work with. read more

I was traveling when my RV towing car seized up. This business got me in same day - with a free tow to their shop! Car was repaired by 10:30 a.m. the following day. They ran a diagnostic to determine it was a simple, inexpensive, blown fuse ($300total including free tow and repair). I was prepared for a HUGE bill but was very happy with the low price AND they got me back on the road in less than 18 hours. I am so appreciative of their quick service. They even marked in my owner's manual what the issue was and how to fix it should the car blow another fuse while being towed. That is AWESOME service. Staff friendly and informative. I took my truck into them because of a vibration I was having. They told me that my rear axle was going out. They also said my drive line was out of balance. They quoted me two prices. They said they would have to order a used rear axle. They said that if the wanted it done right away it would be $7,000.00. They said if I wanted to wait a week they could get a cheaper axel and it would be $5300.00. I asked them why they could not rebuild it they said that the truck was to old and they don't make parts for it anymore. I contacted Auto Nation Dodge and they said that they could rebuild it. I took it into the Dodge dealer and it ended up being the U-jounts. $942.00. Performance Diesel was lying to about everything. read more

My truck wouldn't start a day before I was leaving town on a long road trip. I called and got ahold of Tommy and let him know that it was already on a tow truck headed his way. His staff jumped right on it and diagnosed it in the parking lot when it came off the truck, called me and immediately ordered parts. The parts arrived the next morning and I received a call shortly after 9:00 that my truck was repaired and I could come get it. This kind of excellent customer service and attention to detail is VERY rare these days and for that I will not be taking my diesel truck anywhere else for repair. I contacted DPS for a check engine light that appeared on my 2015 Ram 2500. I got a code saying it was a NOX sensor. I called DPS and they were more than happy to to talk me through the process of what it might be. They shared all the knowledge they could without providing a diagnosis, obviously impossible todo over the phone. I told them I would like to get it fixed ASAP. Being a reputable shop, they are busy. Which to me is a good thing. I dropped it off and had plenty of questions about all sorts of things diesel. They where more than happy to answer everything, made me feel welcome in the shop. They gave me an ETA of multiple days which they said it could be done sooner. Smart move to be honest, as I could prepare to be without a vehicle for the week. Once diagnoses they gave me a call and told me all the options. They where up front with everything, great communication about what is happening. To me communication is huge when I take the time todo reviews. I look forward to using this shop for future repairs (hopefully not for a while!!!) Went in for oil change on my 6.7 Ford F-250 upon check out noticed invoice says 15 qts, I asked if they put 13 or 15 qts as it takes 13 qts. They said it takes 15, but they fill to the line on dipstick. I went home and had to remove 2 qts as they over filled it. read more

Called at about 4 in the afternoon and they were able to get me in the next morning! Quickly diagnosed the issue with my truck, communicated with me regularly and got me back on the road in a timely fashion. I'll definitely be back when I need more work done on my diesel in the future. read more
