Land Rover Rocklin completely changed that. Before I ever walked through the door, my good friend Matt Ryan told me, "Go see these guys--they'll take care of you." He connected me with Austin and Brandon, and from that point forward, the entire experience was first-class. They introduced me to Neil, who was absolutely fantastic. Knowledgeable, relaxed, no pressure, and genuinely fun to deal with. We took the car out, had a great test drive, and before long I knew we had a deal. Then came the part everyone fears... THE FINANCE OFFICE. That's where Karan came in, and somehow even that was a great experience. He was straightforward, fair, professional and treated us like family. I even walked out with an extended warranty. What really stood out was that there was zero pressure, zero games and zero nonsense. They quite literally used electrical tape to try to fix wires they broke, they tried to charge us twice (in the same visit) for an AC diagnostics that they never figured out. They tried to charge me for resetting a code that never fixed anything and I was back in the shop for the same issue anyway. Definitely avoid this shop, they either are challenged being mechanics, or if they're good mechanics, they're Shiesty businessman. I left a good review before, the more interaction that I got the worst my car got.

I confirmed this when I dropped off the car. First, I was a little disappointed when I noticed there was no waiting area, but I used this time to go have some lunch. I took my time, and called to get an ETA. This was about 45 minutes after dropping off the car. They hadn't started yet, and it was next in line. I didn't feel comfortable lingering at the local pizza joint anymore, so I made my way to the Starbucks. I was there easily for another hour, when I felt I should find out what was going on. I called, and found out it was ready. I don't know how long it had been ready, but I thought it was very bad form that they didn't call to let me know. When I went to pick up the car, I found that the bill was $61.92 because the special didn't include synth oil, which is what my Subaru uses. They showed me the flyer where this was clearly stated. I hadn't seen the flyer. Again, not especially a bad thing, but they should have called me as soon as they realized that the bill was going to be different than what I had signed to. I was able to come up with extra cash (thankfully!), but by this time, I was really unhappy with their customer service. That's an integral part of any business. When I got into my car, I noticed that the floor mat was covered with the fine dirt from their lot. I deduced from this evidence that they didn't use a protective cover when moving the car. *sigh* I really don't like writing bad reviews, especially for locals, but this shop needs to up their customer service game. I hope they were just having a bad day. I know I'll be taking my other car to another shop for the oil change in a couple of weeks.
