The place is well established bc of the original location. The food is overrated a little in the bland side. I think people go there for the atmosphere and margaritas. It's hard to find parking. The first time I went the service was horrible. I ordered fajitas and it came with literally 4 slices of meat. The table was too small to fit all of our entrees so instead of asking our server just decided to pick up our sides without asking. I was like what are you doing!!? She said there's no room. I thought you would want room. We ended up consolidating our plates so she can take plates. The second time I went we ordered quesadillas and the gulf fish something along those lines. He enjoyed his quesadillas and the fish was dry and overly cooked. However the server our second time did great. Very attentive. read more

I did not realize it was Mexican food. With the name Grill I had expected different types of food choices. Therefore as we sat down we decided to leave. We have enough restaurants that cater to that type of food choices. Seems as though it would be glorified $$$Mexican food. I was disappointed. Chose vegetarian fajitas because of waiter's recommendation. I really don't believe he has ever had the vegetarian fajitas. Some of the veggies overcooked and carrots were not cooked at at all. Would never have been able to put these over the flour taco. Should have taken a picture because it was not appetizing. It looked like the just removed the fajita meat and tossed on the carrots and a slice of tomato. Come on. Price same as anything else with less attention. read more

The food was ok....what i expected from a mexican style restaurant. The salsa had no spice what so ever with no options for those who like it hot. Margaritas were excellent but WAY too expensive. Finally had a chance to go to Superior Grill since the place has been packed since they opened a couple of months ago. After eating there, we came away wondering what all the hype is about. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a beautiful outdoor patio that would be great in the spring/fall. However, the food is expensive and the quality simply doesn't justify the cost. I had the Acadiana Enchiladas which is a shrimp enchilada, a crawfish enchilada, and a spinach enchilada. I got a bad feeling just from the presentation...the plate looked sloppy and just thrown together. The enchiladas themselves tasted like leftovers, they were mushy, and the seafood was overcooked. The seafood itself was skimpy as there wasn't much crawfish or shrimp in each enchilada. The shrimp were obviously small and cut into pieces. There were ten or less crawfish in that enchilada. The spinach enchilada was soupy and flavorless. It looked like you had a choice of beans but we were not asked or offered choices. The refried beans served were just slopped out between the enchiladas. My 22 year old son had a burrito with chicken which he said was "meh" not bad but not that good. My husband did enjoy his steak covered w/ spinach cream sauce and cheese. It looked wonderful and he enjoyed it. All in all, we will probably stick with La Papa Feliz and Chuys. Our meal was $100 at Superior and we could've gotten the same thing at either of those places and the quality would've been better and it would have been $20-$30 cheaper. read more

Went to Superior Grill for the first time tonight. Being honest, was there some things I liked? Absolutely! Is there some I didn't like? Also yes. I ate some queso, salsa, chicken & steak fajitas, and a sopapilla for dessert. Let me start with what I liked. The queso and salsa were both very yummy. Our table almost finished 2 large quesos it was that yummy. I also liked the rice that came with my fajitas. I liked the chicken in my fajitas (they were juicy and tender), but was not a large fan of the steak. It was butter tender, but had a sweet aftertaste. After only two pieces I got nauseous from the sweetness. I did like the sopapilla, however it was a little undercooked. Now, let's talk about the staff...this staff was SO NICE! Anytime the chips were low they were immediately switched for new ones. Our waitress was incredibly nice and patient with our group taking our time. You can also see them make the sopapilla's fresh on the way to the bathroom which was awesome! And the entire place was gorgeous and the bathrooms were CLEAN!!! Would I come back? Yes, but I would definitely have to order something else due to my personal preference. read more

Our waitress got something wrong and she was quick to save herself by blaming it on the kitchen because they "didn't speak English" as she emphasized multiple times. The service was not great, to say the least. Other than that the food is fine, if you like the mesquite taste to your meat then you'll like it but it is SUPER over priced and UNDER-proportioned. We will not be back. I ordered the beef and cheese enchiladas. I had 2 beef and 1 cheese. The cheese inside of the cheese enchilada was completely frozen. (I pulled the frozen cheese out and put it on top) When I asked about the beans, I found them buried under the queso. The server said that when they microwave the plates, sometimes the cheese moves. Why microwave a fresh meal? I asked for no red sauce but my two beef enchiladas had red sauce and then my entire plate was drowned in queso. The queso was amazing but the server told us they made it too thick so they stopped serving it. It was super loud in there. My husband and I had to sit side by side to have a conversation because there was a birthday party right next to us. Salsa was nothing but tomato sauce, which had zero zing of flavor! Then, the bartender asked if I wanted two shots of tequila in my drink.lol. I mean really?? Why would you think that's even an appropriate question to ask, but going to assume that you were just trying to up charge me. Such a huge disappointment! Look I've never in my entire life have been asked such a question. You gotta assume that if I am asking for a margarita - I am asking you for the real deal here.. No such a thing as a weak Marg... I ordered the Superior Nachos with brisket, they came with so little meat you couldn't tell it was briskets and there were literally SIX nachos.... For $14.95... SIX! Sad, sad...all the hype and what a let down.....unfriendly hostesses.....uninformed waitress...we went for lunch. Arrived early and went straight to table......chips, salsa, and water came soon with someone who didn't speak English. When the waitress arrived, I said I have a question. How is the toastada prepared.....what comes on it? She answered you know no one has ever ordered that so I'm not sure......I think it has some kinda meat and lettuce and tomato. Really? The correct response would be I'm not sure let me go find out.....so I ordered basic taco and enchilada. When the meal came, the taco had a little meat and a little cheese that was it....when I asked does it not come with lettuce and tomato, she said I'll go get some. And the taco shell, stale and tough. The salt cellar did not work......next time she came by I informed her and instead of just getting one off an unoccupied table she went to the back.....long time later she brought one out and said try this one, (aww you didn't try it) it did not work either....as she turned to go find another one, I said can you not just take one off that table, which she did and it did work.....for a $35 lunch for Mexican food, you should be blown away. I have been talking to several people who have ate at Superior Grill since it opened in Lafayette. They say food is terrible. They are not going back. Too expensive to even go drink at bar. It's a shame that place has been good in Baton Rouge for a long time. Maybe they will listen to there patrons complaints. Who knows. read more

Fresh is the word! Salsa, tortillas and vegetables! Professionally run and managed with great food. Main dining room is quite loud but there is a room near the ladies making fresh tortillas that is used for banquets that you might be able to ask for to escape the noise. The atmosphere is unlike anything else~ SO beautiful, SO fun, the food is fantastic, the margaritas are next level! :) But my favorite aspect is the customer service. The drinks are good but I'd say that's about it. We were a party of two. Our food was given to another table that was directly in front of us on the bar side of this restaurant. I was able to see the other patrons touch the food and then look confused because that's not what they ordered. I brought it to our servers attention immediately and asked if we could get our order remade due to this. Keep in mind, we had waited a while for our food due to it being busy and I didn't mind waiting again. Our server said it would be remade but would probably take a bit of time. She asked if that was okay and we said yes we did not mind waiting. No more than 5 mins later we were given the "remade" food. There is absolutely no way given the time we waited previously and with the amount of people that our food was remade. Even if our remade order was priority, it would not take less than 5 mins to make. Everyone makes mistakes and I do not fault the runner for her mistake. I fault management and our server for not doing a good job of handling the situation. We were asked multiple times if we wanted it remade once we had a manager called. We asked for this prior to getting management involved. It was disrespectful and insulting to offer up the very thing that we originally asked for that did not happen. I'm not a fan.. We paid for our drinks and apps and left. 2+ hours of my life wasted on a terrible experience. read more

Very nice dining experience with excellent service.Not your usual mexican restaurant. Huge bars to explore.Margaritas were not the usual watered down version.Appetizers were unique especially the mini tuna and ceviche tacos. Beef fajitas were very tender with real chargrilled flavor(hard to find these days).Next visit will be checking out the bar and the chili rellenos.Crowded so get there early. read more

I think the food is probably really good but not exceptional enough to tolerate the negative aspects. I got some kind of bowl thing with brisket & it was good, the brisket was excellent. The reason I give for the low rating is #1 the noise level, parking & just getting there also. I was with a party of 5 & we could not hear each other speak, one person never even got their food & with all the noise there was a lot of confusion just trying to order & then there were the birthday celebrations that were also very loud with very obnoxious sparklers that stunk, I doubt any of us will return. Margaritas were strong but $18 served in a disposable styrofoam cup ( big turn off for the price ). The place is nice & was packed even at 2 in the afternoon so I'm sure it will be a success. Trying to turn into the parking lot was challenging from the opposite lane but there is a cut through off of Meadow Farm Rd through the hotel parking lot which I'm sure the hotel owners will tire of soon.
