When they arrived, they said it would only take few minutes. About 10 or 15 minutes later, they were done. When I inspected the stairway, it didn't look all that much different than before they started. Some, but not much. So I mentioned this to the employee and he responded "That's because the carpet is worn out." I knew it wasn't worn out, as it is good carpet, and not that old. Then I showed him an area I had cleaned myself with a retail product and pointed out how much cleaner that spot was. He then said, "Okay, I'll go over it again." A few minutes later he was done. When I looked at the stairs, it did look a bit better, so I paid him and he left. It wasn't until later that day that I realized he had only done half of the stairs the second time. Now I'm stuck with an unsatisfactory job, and will likely be calling another company to come back ad re-clean the carpet. What bothers me most about this job is how the employee could claim the carpet was worn out as an excuse for a poor job. Seems like a bad business practice to me.

Ed told me I didn't need a mold company at all. Ed identified the small spots missed by the company that remediated after the flood in May. The he told me how to correct them. (He said they did a B+ job.) He also identified drywall that should have come out initially. Both of these issues were missed by the company that quoted me $4400. After all that, Ed wished me well and left. It is so rare to find HONEST people these days. When you do, you want to scream it from the rooftops.
