I looked on their official website and it stated they were open Sundays. (They're really not.) Called the number and explained to them that my laptop is running reallllyyyyyyy slooooowwwww and I might have a couple viruses on there. Basically it needs a good clean up. The owner, Lem, was such a sweetheart. He personally drove to the shop so he can meet me up. On his day off. What great customer service!!! He felt bad since his website wasn't updated. NOTE: they're still closed Sundays. Remember that. I was able to get my laptop back next day (Monday) by the end of business day. He charged $90 to clean up any viruses, adware, cookies + data....and all these other I.T. tech terminologies. He added two virus protection softwares to my laptop too. This little place is tucked in between all the little lingerie stores on Sahara, in between Arville & Valley View. It's not far from our neighborhood. We had a couple problems (crash) with our computer a while ago, so we went here for repairs and both times they were able to recover our data (pictures, documents, etc.) for us. It was relatively pretty quick, on both occasions, and not outrageous price- wise, either. We didn't have any issues at all. We didn't get the run-around. It was pretty straight-forward and professional. We brought over the hard drive, spoke to a rep and explained what happened, got a quote, returned when it was ready a few days later, and paid for the service- an easy process. I used to use this repair shop over ten years ago. Lem and his team always provided excellent service. I moved across the valley and was too lazy to drive, so tried another computer repair. The owner is very nice and understanding. I was worried about going to someone who wouldn't care to over price me so I figured this was a safe bet and they are. My laptop had very minimal issues and slow speed. Still I was only charged $25. Again, my laptop had very minimal problems. Only it was enough to go an hour to be able to leave. Very fast errand. Can't say enough positive about Lem. My laptop stopped working and I had to leave for an out-of-town meeting the next morning. I also had several errands to run hat day. Lots of lag time with pages downloading, and when you compose messages and emails of any kind, it only allows you to type o n e l e t t e r a t a t i m e...Anyone who has owned a PC long enough recognizes the symptoms, and what they mean. Corruption. Infection. VIRUSES. About two weeks ago, mine started doing it, and I knew that if I didn't do something about it, I was in for some serious trouble. I have had my laptop for less than a year, although I tend to do a lot of Yelping, Facebooking, 'Tumblr'-ing, shopping, and uhm..."shopping" on it. (Yeah...let's call that "shopping"...) Anyway, my partner, Bear, had found this little shop off West Sahara called Supertech, when his Mac went out on him. The owner/head tech, Lem Aligaen, not only found there was nothing wrong, but didn't even charge him more than the basic $25 just to do an overall check. (It turned out to be a browser bug, not a hardware glitch.) But you know me, folks...I gotta do stuff "the HARD way". So before I finally took my 'baby' in to see Lem at Bear's recommendation, first I tried to use one of those services that's advertised on TV all the time, for 'cleaning your PC.' I got the runaround, got to waste time talking to people whose first language was definitely NOT English, to put it delicately, and then I was subjected to PowerPoint-based "scare tactics",which outlined that it would cost at LEAST $399 to cleanse my hard drive of electronic diseases, PLUS I would have to send my PC to GEORGIA, on my own dime, where the repairs would take a MINIMUM of twelve days to perform. I hung up on those suckers, tout suite! And when Bear mentioned Lem and Supertech, I didn't have to think about it more than two seconds. If's quite a jaunt by bus if you have no wheels, and it sits back off the road, in the middle of a bunch of other shops where you wouldn't think to find a computer repair place. But Lem was friendly and knowledgable. And FAST! When he asked me when I needed it back, I said I wouldn't mind picking it up on the following Monday or Tuesday (I dropped it off on a Wednesday), which Lem agreed was enough time. He called me to let me know it was ready that FRIDAY. And did it cost me $399? Nope. Ninety bucks. And yes, you're reading that right. So if you have PC troubles, bypass the hassles I went through - and that includes going to see "the 'GEEK SQUAD'". Go see Lem first. As a photographer, having my laptop available at ALL times is critical. Just earlier this week I come to find out someone spilled water all over the table my laptop was on and it seems to have sat in it overnight. It would only make the turn on sound and shut off. I tried everything I could to dry it out and reset it to turn on but eventually my laptop just gave up (black screen to not powering on at all) I decide to take it to Supertech my mom recommended. Excellent computer shop! Had a problem with my daughter's laptop battery not charging. Took it in, and the gentleman (Gene, I think) spent a good 15-20 minutes checking it out and found an a/c adapter that would charge the battery. Told me the battery and jack are OK, just needs a new charger. I asked what I owed him for his time and he said: Nah, it's fine. So I went back a few weeks later and donated a bunch of a/c adapters I had from different laptops I had bought at auction. This time Lem was there, I told him the story and asked if I would give them a Yelp review. I said I already had, but when I checked my account it seems I didn't. Doggone CRS...
