I was happy to find a computer repair person who was honest, up-front, and explained everything you wanted or needed to know about your project or repair. On top of that, his pricing was very reasonable. Michael helped me deep-scan a couple of laptops for malware and replace the hard drive on another older laptop. He updated me regularly on the progress of his work, if there were any complications that came up, or revisions that needed to be made. I was quite happy with his work and professionalism. Lastly, Michael has a great drop-off/pick-up service in front of his office. You don't even need to find parking and walk to his shop. Great, knowledgeable support. Excellent, fast, useful communication and updates. Reasonable rates. Really nice guy. I had a fantastic experience with Michael at SuperTech Geek. I picked him because of his solid reviews here and was happy I did. I had a tricky problem and didn't want to take it to a box store that might have inexperienced people doing changes "by the book" and end up making it worse than it started. I liked that the reviews suggested Michael does all the work by himself and that does seem to be the case. It's his business. Despite its impressive specs, my Dell laptop had been a dog from day one. I got it for free just to use up credit card points before they expired so I didn't try to get it fixed under warranty - I didn't have any plans for this computer anyway and didn't feel like figuring out how to return it since it was just shipped to me by the bank. After a few years of struggling myself, many many hours of googling, troubleshooting, reconfiguring and even deleting and reinstalling my antivirus software, I decided I had to have a professional fix it. My wife was starting to use it for her consulting business so we could no longer just let it sit idle or tolerate the horrible performance. Michael quickly identified that the Windows install that Dell shipped it with was corrupt and had to be fixed or replaced. I had suspected that. It was slow as molasses on day one. It would take hours to days to do routine Windows Updates and was more likely to stall rather than to work on the first few tries. He also found out that I had a failing hard disk which I didn't suspect because I had bootable clones on other new hard disks that acted the same way, convincing me Windows was corrupt. I had thoroughly ruled out viruses many times. In the end, he had to give me a fresh install of Windows on a new disk. I was going to have him move me to a new solid state drive anyway so that worked out just fine. Michael transferred over all my documents, taking great care that it was complete and worked properly. He gave me a list of the programs I had installed on the computer when I brought it in. I had to install those programs myself, but it was easy since I had the list and had all my license keys and passwords. He even helped me by text after I got home to get my external display working with the new install. I now have a blazing fast computer! It boots up and shuts down in under a minute, rather than the 5-30+ minutes it had been doing. Files, folders and programs open instantaneously instead of the 10 seconds to several minutes (really). We used to boot up and start our applications at least 30 minutes in advance of business meetings, and even then sometimes we were left with delays. The only negative thing I can say is that his location isn't convenient for me. He's in downtown San Jose which is a 30-60 minute drive each way depending on traffic, and you do have to find parking. He encourages using the loading zone for quick swaps and he's flexible on appointment times to help avoid traffic. The location is not at all a deal breaker for me. I would rather spend some time in the car than go somewhere close that can't fix my machine as well and as quickly as he does. I'm happy to say I now have our computer guy. I will go back to Michael for all future needs. read more

Great service and fast responses! My trackpad seemed to be acting up after a pet knocked over a glass of water on my laptop. I initially thought there was water damage, so he took a look at my laptop to try to identify the issue for $40. He gave me an upfront quote on how much everything would cost for him to fix it. After paying and getting my laptop back, he offered me a 90-day warranty and told me that if I had issues or wasn't happy with the trackpad, just give him a call. I ultimately ran into some issues, and he offered to take a (remote) look at my laptop to check the drivers, same day, within an hour or two after I texted him. Very quick response. Turns out my laptop was being weird with the replacement trackpad, so he took my laptop back multiple times to try other trackpads, free of charge. (There weren't any new OEM trackpads on the market, so he had to use a third-party trackpads). After finding out that third-party trackpads didn't work well with my laptop, he offered to try to get me a used, (but good condition) OEM trackpad or a full refund (also waiving the initial fee to inspect the issue with the laptop). I opted for the refund because I had to leave town soon, but these were all problems out of his control, so I was really grateful for his patience and efforts in trying to fix my laptop for me! Arrived here at 4:30 and was done around 7:30ish. Helped us place our 85 inch tv in our family room and got our sound bar working for us. It was trial and error and he was so patient with us and explained what he was doing the whole time and we listened to any suggestions he had. I contacted Michael to help in upgrading the boot drive of my 27" iMac. I also wanted to add a second internal drive if possible, but my machine supposedly lacked the proper connectors. Please, please protect yourself and don't use Mike. There has been two complaints about him in 2022 with people posting screenshots and Venmo transactions with him but he claimed that they had never been to his business. There's people with missing items who complained in 2021. He has threatened to hack people. He threatened to watch us from the cameras he helped install. He has drunk called us to harass us. People who seen the texts (from his business number) were horrified and disheartened how much an IT guy is able to take advantage of people. We thought about posting more Venmo transactions but he has our personal information from our computers. You are fortunate if you are one of the one's he didn't take advantage of. Most people don't just try to warn others about a man without valid concern. It is a blatant lie that he's been working with google. Please look at the dates and content of his review when he first opened up. And decide for yourself if you think all the 5 stars had been earned. You are a disgusting human being Mike. When we realized there had been others we stopped caring about receiving a refund. I called the business to ask if I could test a used GPU that I was planning on buying. Even though they could not provide that service, Michael still went out of his way to make sure that I was making a good purchase. He told me his experiences with used GPUs, and compared it to the price of a newer GPU. He even sent me an amazon link to a better GPU that I will end up getting instead. Really 6 stars if it was an option. Absolutely highly recommended. My 6 year old laptop with solid state boot drive would boot correctly for a little bit and then fail after a few minutes. Michael correctly diagnosed it over the phone as a hard drive failure and quoted a price which I felt was very reasonable (actually a bit on the low side) since I have worked with computers a little myself. I was a little skeptical that it was a drive failure since I didn't think solid state drives would fail, especially after starting up and working for a few minutes so I suggested it might possibly be the graphics chip overheating, or something along those lines. He replaced the drive very quickly, and went even further with an upgrade to Windows 11, backed up the failed drive's data to the hard drive, and added a heat monitor app. It was a lot of work with full testing but he did it all in a few days for what would have been a very good price even if it had been only a hard drive replacement. I waited over a month to write a review because I wanted to make sure the fix would last. It has been just fine so here is the review. read more

Once i had problems turning it on i called around and Micheal was first to actually offer helpful advice to figuring out how to troubleshoot my pc. My computer had a display issue and random shutdowns. There was previous attempts to fix it, but the issue persisted. Michael Contacted, asked questions, and offered to evaluate it. He stressed tested all the components found, ran several tests on each component and found the issue, offered me a great price estimate to fix. If he decides not to return your computer parts to you then there's no way you can just walk in the door and talk to a manager. There is no customer service representative that you can call and speak to. Michael took my hard drive.
