The khachapuri which is a cheese pizza like dish that is finished at your table was terrific, the kinkhali a soup dumpling that is another national staple, were devoured, and the various grilled meats and vegetables were all very good and not a weak link in the meal. There are not many George restaurants in the United States. You must get the bread and the dumplings. The pork belly was a new dish that we had never tried and it was quite yummy on the happy hour $16 drinks are $10. What a deal my biggest issue with this restaurant overall is I know how much Georgian food cost in other countries. If you can forget about the cost and like I said happy hours a great deal. I remain surprised that this restaurant was noted by Michelin. If they have a truly amazing dish, it was not what I ordered. I started with the Khinkali. I appreciated the server explaining how the dish is eaten in Georgia. I followed her directions but found the dumplings to be excessively dough. Some.bites yielded no meat at all. Next, i had the Ajaruli. Lots of cheese, which is normally a good thing. My dish, however, was very bland. Videos I have seen from others show a spice sprinkled on the dish. I did not have that, which may explain the blindness. If you go, find out the dish that Michelin recommends. It is probably not what I had. read more

When my friend suggested Supra, I took a look at the menu and saw they offered Khachapuri, I was immediately in. I love a good cheese boat. Walked in on a quiet Monday and had no problem getting a seat for two without a reservation. It took a little bit however to get the attention of a server. After putting our order in we enjoyed a feast of dumplings and a mixed grilled of kabobs. All wonderful and delicious. However something was missing: The Khachapuri! After our meal we had let our server know it didn't come out, we suspect they forgot. We eventually got it served but by then it was the end of our meal and we didn't enjoy it sa much as we would have up front. The service needs a improvement in those areas so I'm going to just give it a 4, however the cheese boats are great. Maybe next time I'll get it to go. read more

It's been a while since we ate at Supra so we went back. The appetizer platter did not disappoint. The walnut-based dips and pickles were out of this world. We also had the ribeye and lamb and they were phenomenal. However, I noticed that the Lobio did not taste the same. It tasted like it came out of a can and watered down. No flavor. I used to be able to taste fenugreek and coriander. What happened? Also, I was so happy to see Chicken Tabaka on the menu, but that also was disappointing. The chicken pieces seemed to be too big and so when cooked, some sections were dry. There was too much hot pepper on it so it was very difficult to eat. The Tabaka wasn't really flavorful. I'd suggest that Supra use Cornish hens instead for this dish and boost the spices up a bit for flavor and reduce the use of hot peppers. I've been here a few times and I always love this place. They have a lot of great food and beverage selection for anyone and can accommodate vegetarian dietary restrictions also. I came here briefly for food. We ordered the Ajaruli, which I've ordered plenty of times before. They mix the egg and cheese in front of you, which is wonderful. It is hard to eat as you get to the middle though that's pretty normal. My friend ordered the chicken under the large entrees, though he stated it was a bit dry. The service is quick and easy! I made a reservation for here on a Monday at 1 pm. I arrived on foot and on time. The hostess immediately greeted me. She let me choose between 2 different tables, one against the window and a cozier one across to the other side. I chose the one by the window because the afternoon light was warm and it had a great view of the kitchen. The inside wasn't very busy, just a few groups. I really liked the decoration, plants, and ambiance. I decided to get the business lunch special which is 3 courses delivered within an hour time frame. I chose the beet pkhali (pate), ajaruli khachapuri (boat-shaped), and strawberry gelato. I also added a 3 piece of the kalakuri (pork & beef soup dumplings). The beet pkhali came out first with a long piece of freshly made bread. I ripped pieces of the bread off and spread the pate on, getting some of the pomegranates, walnuts, and dill as well. It was delicious! Light but savory and creamy. When I was almost finished with the bread, I noticed there were 2-3 very very tiny bluish spots. After bringing it to the attention of the hostess, she came back with a brand new piece of bread and explained that the clay oven left those marks. The dumplings came out next. They were larger than I expected, comparable to a bun size, and had thick dough with a dough nub on top. I enjoyed the savory and juicy meat inside with the ground black pepper provided. It wasn't my absolute favorite type of dumpling, I think I just prefer some sauce. The ajaruli was bigger than I expected. My server offered to mix the butter, egg, and cheese together for me but I was embarrassed to say I wanted to take a photo of it unmixed so I said I could do it myself. Kinda regret this because I would have liked to see how she did it. It was also delicious but so heavy for me after also eating the pate with bread. I would have probably preferred to try the spinach or mushroom ones instead but I don't regret trying it! I think it's better to split as a group. The strawberry gelato was the perfect finish! If I hadn't gotten this, I would have tried a pear Georgian soda! But the gelato tasted fresh and was super yummy with the sunflower seeds. Supra is a solid place if you want to experience Georgian cuisine. I've been for both dinner and brunch and I would definitely say to do dinner here to experience their cuisine to the fullest. I'd recommend going with others and getting a variety of dishes to share. Some highlights for me were the lamb shank (so juicy), the brusselsprouts, the wrapped eggplant, any and all their cheese pie dishes (so cheesy you definitely should share), and the dumplings. I'd say save room for dessert (grape pudding and honey cake) because those are really stellar. For their brunch, we got a family/friends platter to share but it was a bit mid. I wasn't a fan of the selection on the plate; it was pretty bitter and only came with one piece of bread. I had to flag 3 servers just to get some more bread. Supra is amazing!! My husband and I just went to celebrate our anniversary - it's a great celebration spot. For drinks, we ordered the blackberry mule, spicy Zelenskyy, and Ambra Tsolikouri wine. The cocktails were very tasty (as someone who likes sweeter drinks, the mule was one of the best I've had) and the wine was a fantastic semi-sweet white! For our meals, we ordered: - the pickle assorti - the pickled capers are exceptionally tasty - kalakuri khinkali soup dumplings - very hearty and good - salmon plate - perfectly cooked, large portion of salmon! And the cauliflower was very good too - and of course, the ajaruli egg boat - which is just as fun and delicious as it sounds! They mix the egg and butter in with the cheese at your table! The food here was a pleasant surprise! It was so fresh and flavorful. I got the Georgian salad which had fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. I also got the shrimp and grits. My partner and I walked by this place and decided to stop in for some quick bites and we are so glad that we did. We ordered the Crispy Ajika-Honey Pork Belly and six of the pork and beef Khinkali. The Khinkali reminded me of a HUGEEE dumpling but better than any dumpling I have ever had. Then I got the Khinkali pork and beef dumplings, which is a 6 out of 10 because there is an overwhelming flour to meat ratio that is off, but it has nice soupy insides - Asian dumplings are better. Got the cheesy egg Ajaruli Khachapuri, and my good this cheese is stretchy and delicious, so it makes sense to pair it with wine. Lastly, I got the "chicken soup" which I think is new on the menu, but came out way too salty that I wouldn't recommend. My final drink of the night was the Solace lightly cloudy IPA on tap, and that was nice and smooth. I just happen to get it because solace has strong meaning to me. I've been to Supra three times over the course of a year. It's been a nice experience each time. The khachapuri ajaruli is my favorite dish. The cheesy flavor is something you've got to experience once if you've never tried it. The service has been different each time. Recently, it was my mom's birthday in late October. We visited Supra during her birthday trip to DC. The server didn't ask if we wanted our khachapuri first or with our main dishes. He brought all of the dishes together. We would have preferred it to come out before our main dishes. He gave my mom a little gift for her birthday when we arrived. Supra doesn't celebrate birthdays like a traditional restaurant with singing etc. The gift was a nice way of showing recognition. Overall, our meals tasted great. The service was prompt and polite. It's not easy to find Georgian food in the area, so trust me when I tell you Supra is well worth the visit. I've been several times already and continue to bring friends back to try. I suggest making a reservation or you may end up sitting on their bar side, which can be a bit sad and not the best service. I recommend trying the Khortsis Platter, Kalakuri Khinkali (dumplings), and Ajaruli. I've worked my way through the menu, but these are the ones that have stood out. I've been told that their wines are worth trying, which I'll save for the next visit. The service is fast and friendly. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and definitely avoid sitting on the bar side of the restaurant. Not the same service you'll get on their main side. Parking is terrible in the area. Stumbled upon Supra's Restaurant Week Menu. TLDR: Order egglant nigvzit and ajaruli (boat shaped cheese bread with an egg) Delightful culinary experience with each plate gorgeously presented with unique flavors. The food is robust with flavors, primarily having a background taste of coriander/fenugreek. It reminds me of a mix of Mediterranean food with middle eastern and turkish food food, having key features such as nuts, grilled meats/vegetables, and an emphasis on aromatics. Unfortunately, they ran out of thier infamous pear soda, but I was able to sip on a cucumber-mango mocktail with my meal. Here's what we ordered: Appetizers 1. Eggland Nigvzit - eggplants that are rolled up with a walnut paste filling in the center. This is definitely a dish you could share with others. Because it has a walnut paste, there is the slighter heaviness to an appetizer but still quite light overall. 2. Pkhali, a pureed beet/carrot appetizer. Separated into two scooped pates, this plate has a gorgeous presentation but overall lacked flavor and texture. There were bits of walnut that provided the midlist crunch, but as an avid texture-lover, I would pass on this! Main 1. Bostneuli Platter - grilled vegetables such as eggplant, mushroom, peppers. There were three sauces at the center you could pair the vegetables with. It comes in large portions, and we could not finish it but I definitely did enjoy munching on the veggies! 2. Lyulya Kebab - ground lamb kebab over an onion salad -- comes with about 3 pieces with pita-like bread. Mix of cumin and coriander flavors. 3. Ajaruli - boat-shaped cheese bread with an egg. When it first comes out, quickly mix in the egg in the cheese before it cools down to cook the egg. Highly recommending experiencing this. The bread has a soft crunch with a very airy and light center. 4. Kalakuri Khinkali - pork/beef soup dumpling with fresh herbs. It was a doughier dumpling with a similar base taste to the kebab. The ambiance is nice. The megruli khachapuri was nowhere close to what it should be--oozing with cheese. This felt more like pizza than a khachapuri, unfortunately. I was also hoping that the trademark Georgian hospitality would be reflected in the service, but, that too felt short from what it it should be. I had several glasses of delicious wine for $9, which is a steal. For food I ordered the Mushroom Khinkali and Pkhlovani. The latter was so delicious, it was stuffed and topped with cheese and just melted in my mouth. The flavors were subtle and perfect. The khinkali just didn't work for me, there was a spice used that I didn't like. Overall though, it was soft, served hot, and was a large portion for the size.
