Had to try this place because of the xiao long bao! Came during soft opening and was seated for our reservation right away. The server was attentive and quick. The lemon slushy and the jasmine tea were very nice. We had the soup dumplings, fried dumplings, pepper beef, cabbage, and shrimp and everything was plated beautifully and came out super fast. It's not my husbands favorite soup dumplings and it's not cheap ($100+ for what we got) but it's very good. We don't find ourselves at Ala Moana Shopping Center very often these days... there are so many new places to eat and we ended up walking into "Supreme Dumplings" (near Longs if you don't know where it is). First time here trying soup dumplings... we had their signature bao dumplings, and the fried pork dumplings, fried rice with pork chops, and the cucumber salad. Lily was our server and took excellent care of us explaining the menu and sharing what her fav items are on the menu. I wish we were not full from our meal because the Chocolate Long Bao sounds yummy. We had a nice meal, excellent service, and tried something new. read more

Had a great experience at Supreme Dumplings! Everything we ordered was delicious, and there was a good variety for both adults and kids. We ordered the pork chop fried rice, kids fried rice set, stir-fried string beans, spicy wontons, pan-fried chive dumplings, and cucumber salad. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The pork chop fried rice and pan-fried chive dumplings were standouts for us, and the spicy wontons had a great kick without being overwhelming. A special shoutout to our server, Heidi! She was friendly, attentive, and really helpful in explaining the menu. She also gave us great recommendations on some of their more popular dishes, which made ordering much easier since it was our first time. Her service definitely made the experience even better. My wife and I made a reservation for 10:15pm. When we entered the restaurant, the host told us it was no where to be found. We showed her the texts that yelp had sent us confirming this reservation, but whenever we tried opening the link, it didn't show a confirmation. (Wondering if anyone else had this issue?) Luckily we were still seated. No one had greeted us or dropped off any drinks to our table for 20 minutes, so we had to wave down a food runner and ask where our server was. About 5-10 minutes later our server greeted us and asked us if we had any questions about the menu. We ordered the assortment XLB and cucumber salad. We tried to order the wonton/shrimp soup, but then he told us that they ran out of wontons/fried xlb for the night. This was understandable, but if any food items had run out, it would've been helpful to mention that first. The wait for our food wasn't too bad. The cucumber salad was a little salty and the cucumbers itself lacked volume (in my opinion). It kinda just fell flat for me & taste like how they look. 4/10 The assortment XLB was decent. No one told us the flavors of each dumpling so we didn't know what to expect. I wasn't a huge fan of the wagyu/truffle dumplings. The chicken, pork, and spicy dumplings were okay. 6/10 The dessert was lowkey the star of the show. The chocolate xlb were very rich and warm, although it was a little too much chocolate for my liking, it was otherwise good. 7/10 The Onyx Golden Lava Custard Bun was absolutely decadent. It had the texture of a manapua bun with a custard filling that wasnt too sweet. 8/10 Through out dinner we heard people dropping/breaking dishes and the manager looked seemingly upset about this. Our server also barely checked on us while we were dining. Overall the quality of the food is there but just may not be my cup of tea. The service was shitty but being that this place just opened up, I'm sure they're still figuring out their flow. Unfortunately overhyped and a little mediocre. We came twice, one during soft opening early July, the other was today, both on a Tuesday around the same time, both through yelp reservation. I am going to share both experiences in one review. First visit (4.5 stars): We were seated right away upon letting the host know we have a reservation. Other walk-ins not so lucky. We ordered the supreme pork XLB, shrimp XLB, fried pork chops and scallion oil noodle. Once we ordered, we immediately received the ginger slices for the XLB. Everything came out pipping hot, we liked the pork XLB better than the shrimp. The shrimp XLB was less soupy. The only drawback of the XLB is that it only have 6 pieces. The pork chops were amazing! The scallion oil noodle was a surprise. We thought it was going to be like ginger scallion oil that was served cold, but it wasn't like that! It was served hot and it tasted refreshing and very armotic! It was really good! Server was attentive and even tried to decipher when my dad spoke to her in Chinese. Overall, I felt this place has one of the best XLB on island (Mian & Bao is up there) and don't be shy to order other non-XLB items on the menu!!! 2nd visit (3 stars): I have been craving for XLB so we went back today. We got there a little early but they were able to seat us right away. We got the ginger slices before we ordered. We needed a few more minutes when the server came, but she informed us that they don't have the crab XLB, the truffle XLB, or the wagyu XLB. What a bummer, I would guess then they don't have the assortment XLB either. When the server returned, we told her we would like the supreme pork XLB (so classic, gotta have it), pan fried pork dumplings, and the braised beef noodle soup. It was only then she informed us they don't have the beef noodle soup, they only have the chicken. We end up going with the tan tan noodle and requested mild as it has a spicy sign on it. My mom cannot eat spicy. The server said they can put the spicy on the side. The XLB came out first, pipping hot as usual, good stuff. Then tan tan noodles came, the noodles are similar to thin udon and was cooked perfectly el dante. Very peanut and the spicy sauce was served on the side and adding a little sauce was good enough! Glad they were able to put it on the side for us!! My dad decided he wanted to try the dessert XLB. He thinks the chocolate one would be too sweet so we wanted to try the sweet taro. It took some time for the server to get back to us, but when we tried to order, she said they don't have that, either!!! So we end up ordering the lava custard bun. It came out steamy hot and the custard was really lava-like oozing out of the bun as we bite into it. My dad comment it is better than another location that is closeby ;) HOWEVER, there is zero excuse to be out of so many items TWO WEEKS AFTER grand opening. I don't blame the server not telling us ALL the items they don't have, maybe it's their way just to get us to stay but I was just disappointed we couldn't try the other items on the menu. This place is a semi-upscale dining experience. It fits Ala Moana Center's vibe. It has high ceiling, it has a bar for alcohol, but you also have to pay for tea. I feel their kitchen viewing area could be placed in a better location. Also one of the kitchen counters for servers to pick up food and bring to the tables are located near the bathroom. If a server didn't look and if a patron rushing to the bathroom, they could easily collide into each other. Patrons should pay attention as they head to the bathroom to avoid any casualties with the piping hot food. Also, if you haven't checked out the bathroom, they have mouthwash! But the 2nd time we went, they didn't have any cups left. We can't have nice things in the bathroom in Hawaii....people will take them! Pictures were taken from first visit. Supreme Dumplings just opened in Oahu, and if you're familiar with places like Din Tai Fung, I found Supreme Dumplings a little underwhelming by comparison. A lot of the dishes lacked depth of flavor and came across slightly bland. The XLB and sauced dumplings were good, but nothing too spectacular, while the pan fried dumplings were easily my favorite. The drinks were great and the interior was beautiful with a really nice vibe. Service was good, nothing too memorable. The wait list was about 3 hours the first time we checked it out, so we decided to make a reservation, and I don't think the food quite lived up to the hype. I'd probably give it another try once the opening rush dies down. read more

Opening week at this new place and of course everyone is trying to get in. We took a chance and showed up for walk-in on this Saturday afternoon. They informed us that the table would be ready in about 45 to 50 mins. After walking around the mall for 1 hour, we walked back to check on the table. We waited another 20 mins and was finally seated. The hostess at the front was super gracious and so friendly. Im just sorry I didn't get her name. So the first thing you notice is that this place is very similar to Din Dai Fung. Their menu has all of the XLB, noodles and some rices dishes. They dont have the more exotic specialties as DDF. We orded a little mix of about everything adding to $100 for two people. The final verdict is that although they have very similar foods to Din Dai Fung, the quality of the dishes are just not at the same level. One observation as we were walking out and peered through the large glass open kitchen. We noticed how young most of the workers were preparing the food and my wife stated that they have "kids" preparing the delicacies. I know that dim sum making is very difficult and most of the great dim sum eateries have dim sum masters that have honed their craft for many years. I guess these kids might have been working at a Target or Starbucks last week then hired and making dim sum now. That explains the hard tacky texture of the mochi and the bland fried rice. Hopefully their dim sum panda shifu is watching carefully over them and provide more training. The good thing is that we at least have another food option in Hawaii. read more

Very disappointing experience. I understand that new restaurants have growing pains, but the waiting system and front-of-house attitude were unacceptable. We stopped by at noon and were quoted over two hours. We were told to return at 3:30 if we wanted to eat around 5:30. We did, and were again quoted over two hours. Our table was somehow ready less than an hour later, before our full party arrived, so we asked to be put back on the list. When we returned at 5:30, we were told it would be another hour to hour and a half. Unlike the first time, we could no longer track our place in line, so I'm not even sure we were actually put back into the system. I was there three separate times that day. Everyone was being quoted waits of over two hours while numerous tables sat open. The explanations didn't make sense, there was no apology, and the attitude from the front of the house was dismissive and arrogant. Once seated, the service was equally disappointing. We ordered a children's plate and had to ask for it three times. It finally arrived when we were ordering dessert. To top it off, an automatic gratuity was added for our party of five adults and two babies in high chairs. It wasn't pointed out, and I only noticed because I asked when we were prompted to leave an additional tip. The food was okay, but not good enough to overlook the experience. 3/10 read more

We were lucky enough to snag a reservation before their soft opening, and it ended up being a fantastic experience. We expected a few service hiccups since they had just opened, but everything ran surprisingly smoothly. A special shoutout to Abby, who took great care of us throughout the meal. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and walked us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations, making it much easier to decide what to order. Her attentive service really made our visit memorable. The food arrived quickly, and every dish we tried was delicious. I think this will be my first and last time possibly going here... We had a party of 6 with 2 separate checks. Our check was tbh a bit crazy When you walk in it beautiful and you can see into the kitchen where you see the dumplings are made. Workers are friendly and had warm smiles when entering. The interior is beautiful as well, and they use reusable chopsticks rather than the wooden ones that your able to throw away after one usage. The service for the most part was good except for the end where we were told they would make us a new desert since the container had fallen while it was being transferred from tray to table (we managed to catch 3 in the bowl and the other 3 fell onto the table in a napkin and got stuck to it) As for the food, the portion sizes were so small for the price we payed. Basically half the things we wanted that was on menu wasn't in stock since they haven't gotten a shipment for awhile (as our server had said) so we had to opt in for other things. We got 2 shrimp soup dumplings, honey walnut shrimp, a shrimp noodle soup, a kids tan tan, and a lava custard flow. We payed $105 and some change. Our friends we went with payed $88 with some change and never had the chance to taste the chocolate dumplings since it dropped and a new one was never brought! Overall, Id say it's way over hyped and priced to eat at. Like you'll get great fast service but then your hit with a heavy bill and still feelings left hungry. read more

The shrimp and pork spicy boiled dumplings - TERRIBLE. The shrimp in them were freezer burned (you can tell by the texture and taste). And the chocolate xiao long bao was undercooked - dough was hard at the top. This is a mediocre din tai Fung knockoff. read more

I say it was ok because I am not sure that it was an off day. We were seated right away with our reservation. Yet I will describe the experience. The front desk is literally a very small cramped area that is next to the door. It is also blocking a busy walk way that staff is using to serve the small secluded area near the front door. So it's awkward when there is a 20 person pile up waiting to be seated and we have people walking in as well trying to form a cohesive line. We were seated right behind the hostess station facing the kitchen and small prep area. It felt strange because the seat feels like they were trying to squeeze in as much seating as they possibly could. It also felt slightly forbidden or overlooked as well to be seated there. Our server had taken our first orders was curt. They however got most of our order so I will start with the Negatives and eventually speak about the Positives. As I said I think maybe we had an off day? We had gotten the Assortment XLB to try and when it came it was cold. However, our order of Wagyu XLB did not ever make it to our table. The Pan Fried Dumplings were cold. The Shrimp fried rice was interesting. It had 3 pieces of shrimp and seemed more like an egg scramble with rice it tasted lightly seasoned. I say that because it's an experience vs something describable. The Iced Watermelon tea was heavily overshadowed by the Brown Sugar that it had. So I was a little depressed about that. Enough about the Negatives here are some Positives. Some of the better dishes were the Spicy Shrimp Shumai and the Honey Walnut Shrimp my husband ordered. I did not get to taste these though so that was a good sign. My particular favorites are the Truffle and Beef Rolls. The texture and the crunch mixed with the flavors of the filling were fantastic. Dessert was pretty tasty and very Insta worthy. We had the Matcha Lava XLB. The Match Flavor was strong and the texture of the lava was slightly gritty. I am unsure if it was just me or not but it had a gritty texture to the lava. We also go the Brown Sugar Mochi Rice Cakes. This time the Brown Sugar flavor felt like it got drowned out but the hot fried mochi was really tasty. I am unsure if I will go back but I may give it some time before I do. Our server, Lily was knowledgeable of the menu and recommended the popular dishes since it was our first time. It was lunch time and was busy, but Lily didn't disappoint us and kept checking on us.
