    Beef broccoli

Ok hi girlies and friends The bad: let me preface by saying it was a full house. That being said it made sense that it took at least 20-25 minutes to get our first dish. Also I wish they had enough ice to keep the water in the pitchers cold. Meh. Next time I'll just bring a hydro flask. Also the only bathroom is a one stall that makes you take a journey from the dining area, thru the kitchen and down a short hall. Alas I'm a whimsical betch and enjoyed the open house embarkment The good: good service. Friendly. Attentive. For the most part. Restaurant was clean with food ambiance. We got the following dishes: house fried rice, beef broccoli, pot stickers and sesame bread The HFR was interesting with a veggie medley of corn, carrots, green beans, green onion and slivers of onion. It also had lup cheong, shrimp and I think pork. I'd maybe get it again if I didn't want just plain white rice The potstickers. Great taste but no potstickers sauce that I'm used to getting with dishes such as and therefore as gyoza. Alas a concoction of shoyu vinegar and chili paste (?) that was available to us on the table sufficed. The filling was a yummy nugget of pork and chunk of shrimp. Great wrapper too. The texture made me think it was made in house. Beef broccoli was also yums. Broccoli still has crunch while not fearing I'd break a tooth. Beef was juicy and tender. Great flavor. Sesame bread. My cumpanion suggested getting it after reading reviews from other attendees. It was interesting. It was giving pita bread but hot and Asian with white and black sesame seeds. I'd say get it but use it as a vessel to sop up grave from other dishes. Would go again

This place is pretty fabulous! The food is amazing and fresh and so good. The orange chicken is incredible!! Soup dumplings wonderful! Honestly everything was so good. All served family style and decent portions, the orange chicken could have a larger portion since it was family style. Service was fast. They are very friendly and so nice. You will most likely need a reservation. It gets packed. There is no parking, so you will have to go down the street across the Chic Fila in the public parking. It also fills up fast. So just prepared to get street parking and walk there. This place is quaint and has 8 tables so be patient, and make sure to get there early and hope you can sit and eat!

    JanJian Noodles $10. Sooooo good.

An unpretentious small hole-in-the-wall that's been serving solid Northern Chinese style food with generous portions for over 30 years. Hits: The xiao long bao had a wonderful burst of umami rich broth with tender pork inside. Warm and comforting. The dough a bit thick for my taste. The crispy duck was absolutely spot on. Crackling skin with juicy, succulent, meat. Drew rave accolades from my Shanghainese sister-in-law. My favorite the clams in black bean sauce . I usually prefer smaller clams, and these were on the larger side, but they nailed the sauce. Perfect balance of sweet, salty, and that unmistakable black bean funk. Spoon that sauce over white rice and let me have a moment to myself. Miss: The cold ginger chicken. Good flavors but a bit dry. Good friendly service. There's a small parking lot on the side of the restaurant that can hold about 8 cars. Happy Eating!!

Just tried this small mom and pop restaurant as was pleasantly surprised on how good some of their dishes were. Not everything was on point but overall it was a good meal. The best things we ate were the orange chicken and pork eggplant. The dumpling soup was a little bland, crispy lamp chops were tasty but a little too oily for my liking. Shanghai dumplings were good. I would like to try here again and try some of their other dishes.

What was SUPPOSED to be our Orange Chicken. No sauce

Both times I've ordered Uber Eats from this place has been horrible unfortunately. My partner, my mom, and I ordered from here on Christmas and it was really bad. First, it took nearly 2 hours (uber eats driver's fault, not there's) and when we go it everything was cold and soggy. Our pan fried pork buns were incredibly soggy and somehow WET and mushy also. And our orange chicken had NO ORANGE SAUCE. It was dry. My mom and partner got really bad food poisoning from it afterwards. I will say it was quite late when we ordered it so it may have been the last of what was left, but I don't think that should excuse it. The best thing was the fried rice but it was really basic fried rice. Nothing special. Lowkey ruined our Christmas a bit. Their menu LOOKS so good but the execution is so horrible. Idk if the dine in experience here is different but it should be consistent even with take out. Especially if I'm paying MORE.

My good friend and I love coming here after a day at HoMa. It's the perfect place for an early dinner. she loves the beef over crispy fried noodles, and I love the chicken and mushrooms. Mmm so tasty and comforting! Service is so Aloha. I love this place every time and cannot wait to come back very soon. I think they take reservations but you can sometimes walk in when they first open.

Love this spot cause it's Taiwanese! Got their ja ja mien and shao bing to go! Both comfort foods! Great spot to come for dinner if you're craving Taiwanese foods!?

Best Chinese/Taiwanese food I've had in a long time! [Location] This unassuming gem is located on Beretania near Chick-fil-a. There are very limited parking spots to the left-hand side of the restaurant entrance. Drive with caution as there are people that walk by and the space is narrow. You can also park at a metered spot, but be mindful of the time you park and cost. I believe the restaurant has a restroom, though I'm not sure. The space is much larger than it looks, and well ventilated. Nice and cool! Wish I had brought a light jacket. Limited seating. I can see how the place can get packed quickly. [Food] My boyfriend and I enjoyed the Shanghai pork buns (came with black vinegar) which were super delicious! The Taiwanese noodle soup (described spicy) is the star of the menu. The broth is flavorful, lots of aromatics! Plenty of tender beef morsels and delicious ong choy. If you don't like cilantro, you may not appreciate this dish. I also found it interesting that the noodles were more udon-like than I've seen in different renditions of this dish. My boyfriend liked his Mongolian beef but noted it wasn't spicy. I didn't care for the Mongolian beef because there wasn't much to it, in portion or taste. The dish didn't come with rice, so we had to order a side bowl of jasmine rice for $2.00 extra. Good portion of rice, very well cooked. This place is BYOB, though I'm not certain if there is a corking fee. The dishes were priced on the high side but I did leave with plenty of leftovers! [Service] The staff were very kind and friendly, though not the most attentive. We had to ask for hot tea, as we were only given ice waters; however, the tea was flavorless (tasted like water). We also waited quite a while to order (despite being the only ones seated at the time), and even had to get out of our seats to grab some to-go boxes and the check from an employee. Still, we enjoyed our experience and everyone was very pleasant! My boyfriend and I will visit again! Parking isn't fun but the food is worth the hassle.

Food is ono! Service was very nice It wasn't crowded so the ambiance was chill. We got here at 4:30pm and there was only one other table in here

Dew Drop has been at the same location since the 80s. It's one of the very few local mom and pop restaurants that I like going to. The owner Charlie and wife, Becky, cook up Taiwanese dishes with a local taste. The dumplings are good as well as their ground pork sesame bread pockets. Finish your meal with some black sesame balls. This is a small restaurant seating around 25 people comfortably, but can probably pack 35 diners. Becky runs the front of the house and Charlie does the cooking. Their son Jimmy helps out both in the front and in the kitchen. They have a parking lot next door to the restaurant that has space for 8 cars. If that is full your option is street metered.

Dew Drop Inn is such a solid spot when you're craving homestyle Northern Chinese dumplings and comfort dishes in Honolulu, and this visit definitely reminded me why it's a local favorite. We started with the boiled dumplings, and they were exactly what I wanted: chewy, handmade wrappers with a juicy, flavorful filling that tasted fresh, not greasy or heavy. The Shanghai vegetable buns were a standout too--fluffy, slightly chewy dough with a savory veggie interior that felt hearty but still light enough that you keep reaching for "just one more." The egg drop soup hit that simple comfort-food lane: silky egg ribbons in a clean, lightly seasoned broth that paired nicely with all the doughy, carb-y dishes on the table. The spicy chicken dumplings brought the heat and ended up being my favorite of the night--tender filling with a nice kick from the chili oil and seasoning, bold without blowing out your palate. It's the kind of plate you keep circling back to between bites of everything else. Service is casual but efficient, and the whole place still has that tiny, slightly old-school vibe that matches their reputation for dumplings, buns, and noodles. Overall, Dew Drop Inn continues to be a must-visit when I'm craving comforting dumplings and Shanghai-style bites in town, and I'd gladly come back just for the veg buns and spicy chicken dumplings alone.

Dew Drop Inn on Beretania is small--about 8 tables--which makes the room feel intimate. We went on a Sunday at 7 PM and it was buzzing. Every table was full, servers were moving fast, and food was coming out quickly. People kept walking in looking for seats, but the room stayed full. Service was very nice and friendly, and the place felt homey and local We ordered three dishes: dumplings (pork and chives) for $18, Choy Sum Bean Curd for $18, and the Shao Bing (pork, veggies, tofu) for $19. Everything was good, but nothing struck me as special. The exception was the Shao Bing, which was new to us and very delicious. At $18-19, the meal felt pricey for what we got. If I return, it will be for that Shao Bing; the rest didn't justify the price the same way Overall, the food was good but didn't show that extra X factor we look for. Given the $18-19 pricing across the board, that matters. The Shao Bing delivered; the dumplings and Choy Sum Bean Curd did not feel worth those prices

Really good Taiwanese style beef noodle soup- tasted like home to me! Portions are great. We shared the noodle soup plus white rice and tasty Mongolian beef. Servers are so friendly but sometimes the language barrier can cause order mixups, so it's best if you're patient or can speak Mandarin Chinese :) looking forward to trying lots else on their menu!

So the thing about coming to Fun Station is the "suspended flying noodle thingy" which I didn't go for, but if you like Instagramable stuffs, then I supposed you would probably go for that flying-noodle dish. As for me, I mainly came to try their Minute Chicken Cake Noodles, and as a bonus......... I actually got a 20% discount thanks to my friend - Jennifer C. who let a Bruddah know about da DEALAGES in da Sunday food section newspaper, as they had a coupon! The Sunday morning when I came with my friend, I can clearly see that this restaurant was thriving, as every table in the restaurant was taken. Fun Station specializes in noodles, but if you're not into that, they do serve other items like - soups, vegetable dishes, rice plates, & porridge (jook). Upon looking over the menu, we ordered the following items - 1. Frrrrrrried Chicken Wings ($9.95) for an appetizer 2. Minute Chicken Cake Noodles ($17.95 - minus da 20% coupon DEALAGES) 3. Beef Brisket Tendon & Won Ton in soup ($18.95) What can I say about da grub??? Da chicken wings came out hot & crispy. Although they featured only "flats" vs. drums (I like drums), I must say da wings was nicely executed. As for the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles.........nicely plated on a fancy smanshy panda plate. The cake noodles weren't drowning in gravy, so the noodles stayed crispy on the dish. I really liked how they did this dish, and would easily come back here to eat it again. My friend had the Beef Brisket Tendon & Won Ton soup. The dish looked good, and there weren't any complaints, so I take it that it was pretty ono! Overall, a very satisfying meal and the service here was on point, as the staff was friendly & very efficient. Easy 5 stars for the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles! Chance 'em!

It's tucked…read moreinto a small strip mall, the dining room is no frills and if someone told me it was just another average neighborhood Chinese restaurant, I'd probably believe them. Then the food starts arriving. We ordered way more than we needed and almost everything impressed me. The chow fun was cooked exactly the way I like it. Chewy, smoky and never overcooked. My only complaint was that it leaned a little saltier than I prefer, but it was still very good. The Hainan chicken was the surprise of the meal. Perfectly tender with an incredible ginger sauce that I'd happily put on just about anything. Even the dishes I normally avoid won me over. I've never been much of a lotus root person, but theirs was crisp, savory and honestly delicious. The wontons were another highlight. Since we skipped the noodles, they generously gave us extra wontons instead, which was a really thoughtful touch. What really pushed this place from good to memorable, though, was the staff. We were there with our two and four year old and they couldn't have been kinder. They brought over little toys to keep the kids occupied, checked on us throughout the meal and made us feel genuinely welcome. None of it felt forced. It was just warm, thoughtful hospitality and that's something I always remember long after I've forgotten exactly what I ate. The bathroom situation isn't ideal, you have to use the one outside the restaurant, but that's really my only complaint beyond the slightly salty chow fun. This isn't the place I'd recommend for date night or a long evening out. It's the kind of neighborhood restaurant you walk into expecting very little, then leave thinking, that was a lot better than it had any right to be. We'll definitely be back.

There was a couple in front of us who said they come here every time they visit Hawaiʻi and that it's a must-do stop on every trip. When you walk in, it's a small place. You can watch a team member washing the noodles and portioning them into bowls right in front of you. Then you choose your bowl size, small or large, and select your broth. After that, you get to choose from a variety of fried items and other à la carte options displayed on a warmer. Seating can be limited because of how busy this place gets. You line up to get your food, pay for it, grab your condiments, utensils, and a cup of water, then find a seat and enjoy. I've already been here twice, and after writing about my experience, I need to make a third visit happen very soon! There are not enough days off in a week to enjoy all of the amazing food on this island, but I'm going to do my best to experience as many places as I can. I finally decided why not and came with a friend on new years day lunch time. They were pretty busy already after just 30ish minutes of opening (12pm). Service: We were seated immediately and the service method is pretty simple, you scan the QR code and order through there. My main gripe with this service method is the waitresses aren't as attentive, we couldn't really ask any questions prior to ordering and even after ordering, I had to stand up to the front and wave someone down to pay for our order (as they had a special they had to apply before we paid). We ordered: - Spicy Beef Pancake: 10/10, didn't expect to like this so much as well. Not that spicy to be honest. More like a light spicy flavor. The beef inside was also juicy. - Pan-fried pork bun: 10/10, I was honestly looking forward to this more than the XLB and I was correct to do so. The filling was juicy like a XLB but the dough was also fluffy, doughy, AND has a crispy bottom. Would come back just for this and recommend this 10 times over!! - Sui Mai: 8.8/10; this was like any other good sui mai you may get at different dimsum places. Just pork though, no mushroom or seafood chucks like some other spots. - Steamed Beef with Sticky Rice: 8.1/10. This wasn't bad by any means but just didn't compare to the rest of the items. I didn't like how some parts were super fatty. - Xiao Long Bao: 10/10, the wrapped is thin but thick enough for me to pick up the dumpling without it popping. The soup was flavorful and so was the pork within. They had a special going on which made our XLB be like $5 instead of the $14 it usually is. We were super surprised of how little our bill was give that we were stuffed at the end of the meal and had some leftovers. Even without the discount it would've been a great deal. I heavily recommend, especially the pan-fried pork bun and XLB!!

Inside, the space feels busy with tables and people moving around. There are benches inside for those waiting for a table. We had to wait a bit before we were seated but they seemed efficient in ushering people in and out of the restaurant. The middle had smaller tables, which seemed most suitable for two people. The sides had larger tables for larger parties. The tables felt pretty close together but we enjoyed the stool/bench chairs we sat on. They were different than what we are used to in restaurants. Our order was taken quickly. We decided to get the beef chow fun, yang chow fried rice, and cheong fun. The cheong fun was good, especially after adding hoisin sauce. The texture was soft and the portion was quite decent. The chow fun was also yummy. It was tasty without being overbearing. The fried rice was our favorite. It was flavorful and included a variety of ingredients. The prices were not bad either, considering the portion sizes. We hope to be back one day to try more of what they have!

IRREGARDLESS I'd go back for the popcorn chicken (crispy, light fry, bite sized) and air conditioning. Sometimes Chinese food can get super saucy so the small plates - cucumbers, rolls, baos, and veg - work for me. It's serious 家常菜 or home-style cooking or quick food you'd find on the street: ong-choy, tomato-braised scrambled egg, garlic cabbage, essentially all the greats, shareable. Seasons also offers the beef soupy noodle sets, but when it's 85+ degrees out and sunny and 80% humidity, I do question ppl's judgement. I've always loved the Plaza, empty and partly abandoned, bec/ the design is conducive to good airflow and cooling, a much underappreciated architectural element in modern downtowns. But the bums and indigent love it more and sadly always leave some je ne sais quoi. Seasons finds itself across from the dim sum behemoth in Chinatown, Legends, but that's a different flavor profile. Still, quite nice to have variety.

We were told that the first batch would be served about 11 a.m. so we quickly put our order in. The first thing that caught my attention, was the savory aroma of their 5-spice ground pork being cooked. You can add this as a topping to the noodle dish. The second thing that caught my attention, was the labor of love going in to each order of fresh pulled noodles. You can watch him stretch the dough ball and slap it on the counter before he boils each batch with careful preparation. The third thing that caught my attention, was their adorable mother, helping to slice the cucumbers and top each dish with crushed iso peanuts. Do not forget to order the side of pickled bittermelon....so good!! From beginning to end, this was an incredible experience of all my senses! To see and hear them at work and then to taste the delicious sesame sauce on the fresh pulled noodles....WOW! The soft noodles, the crisp bittermelon, and the savory sauce....super delish! Seriously, go early to place your order. The wait is totally worth it :) Will come back next time to try other menu items.

When we went, the menu focused on udon: +Hot Yamakake Udon with Quail Egg (a special) +Cold Yamakake Udon (a special) +Hot Udon +Cold Udon The special udon dishes are servied with tororo (grated mountain yam), housemade tsukudani (seaweed braised in a sweet Japanese sauce), crispy nori, green onions, and an option to add wasabi. We went for both the hot and cold udon specials - I think it was a consensus that we would have liked to have more noodles in the dish. This is definitely a sweeter dish, with the tororo and the tsukudani. The place already had a long line, and the best way to enjoy would be to dine-in. Mini hot and sour wonton: first time trying and won't be my last. 10/10 Beef pancakes were good, slightly different from Mian and Bao, and delicious. Ice Jelly: good cooling dessert. Not too sweet.
