Love that they allow outside food, why wouldn't they!

It's pretty chill for a local spot! If you're looking for something with all the upgrades, this ain't it, it's more so just meet up chill spot! I love how they let you order food, we ordered some Marcos pizza. They have all you can bowl for $25 right now. It's after a particular time, I think 8 or 9 but it is until 1am. We stayed all night and had too much fun. At first I was not feeling the fact they didn't have food but it's an easy fix to just order something, further helping the economy. They also have a little bar in there. We had a great time.

Surf Bowl is an Oceanside staple! A true beachy bowling alley. Always a nice time and kind folks at the counter.

We had a fun time on Christmas Eve bowling for the first time with our 2 year old. They had holiday pricing which cost us around $66 for 3 pairs of shoes and 2 games for 3 people and were open until 8pm. They had the option to rent the lane per hour as well. They have a lot of theme days and specials throughout the week. Also some bowling league opportunities. They had a lot to accommodate young kids which was nice: lane bumpers, 6lb balls and ball ramps for helping the ball glide down the lane. The venue is a time capsule for the 90s for sure- the bathrooms could use a little love but it brought back a lot of memories from my childhood which was fun. They also played Christmas music during our time. The snack bar was closed and not sure if it's operational at all. Would come back again! The parking lot in the front is small but there's excess parking in the back and I think there's an exit door out that way but we walked all the way around. Minimal staff but one nice young man came over and put away the kids ball and ramp for us.

Bowling is always a blast! Hard to come and have a bad time! If there is no parking in the front check the upper back lot! Weekends afternoon/evenings can get really busy heads up there! Their selection of toddler shoes is slim to none so bring extra socks to stuff in the front if bringing a little one for the first time! This alley has been here since 1949, amazing!! - Highly recommend joining a league if you've ever thought about it, it's so fun!

We wanted to go bowling and this place was our closest option. Always love to support our local bowling alleys. It's certainly on the older side since the computer you use to put in your names and track score is very "vintage". Plus, some of the lanes are worn in as evident in the photos I shared. As someone who has slightly larger fingers and needed a ball in the 11-12 pound range, the options were limited but I still was able to bowl without any issue. They did have my size 13 shoes available so that was nice. The only problems that we had were on our lane 23 since two separate times it appeared that the pins refused to reset properly and cost us about 10 minutes of our 90 minute prepaid session. When I tried talking to the man at the desk, he called it in each time but we still had lost those 10 minutes before we were switched to our adjacent lane. When we brought this up upon checking out we were comped with two free games. It's nice that this was taken care of, but I wish that the issues with our lane were resolved or that we were comped extra time without having to ask for it. We plan on returning, but hope that they eventually plan on putting in time and maintenance to address some of the issues with the pins resetting, and the noted cosmetic issues. The vending machines are cash only, so recommend preparing in advance with some petit cash since outside beverages aren't permitted. While not perfect, we enjoyed our experience at Surf Bowl and plan on returning.

My now 10 year old son and I have been here over 3 times. Each time we've been impressed. We went to a different location and had an opposite experience. This location is always busy, even on weekdays. The servers are quick to help. Get you what you need food, coins, drinks and leave you to have fun. Games of all kinds and prizes too! Oh the prizes. Their TVS are state of the art. Especially if you are a sports fan. Dave and Busters rivals other sports bars. I forgot the big soccer game was on tonight and they were packed. But that's the thing every thing is so well designed and spaced out that everyone still has miles of elbow room. Eric was our Server and was wonderful tonight. Engaging, smiling, friendly, clearly loves his job and does great at it. He went the extra mile and fixed something another location failed at when it wasn't his job to and he wasn't asked. You get mini golf, lazer tag, go carts, bumper boats, arcade, batting cages and a sunburn. And maybe hand foot mouth. Can we PLEASE get an out door bathroom and places to wash hands?! I really think there should be a family pass, but it's $50/person for unlimited activities which is pretty pricy, but I guess it's better than an hour in an escape room. For $150 you can get an entire annual membership to any museum....plus lunch. It's just super expensive. Probably won't go more than a couple times a year, but it's fine. I've spent hundreds of dollars at Throwback Gamez because I genuinely like supporting mom-and-pop…read moreshops, but today I learned apparently you need a bachelor's degree in Pokémon Card Sciences before you're allowed to negotiate here. I'm getting back into Pokémon cards after collecting as a kid. Now I'm grown, have some money to spend, and figured it would be fun getting back into the hobby. Obviously I don't know every single thing about card conditions, pricing, sets, etc. yet. They had a card for $52. I looked it up and found one for $33, so I offered the guy $45. Seemed reasonable to me. What I DIDN'T notice was that the $33 card was listed as heavily played. My bad. I didn't know. I'm still learning. Instead of just saying, "Hey man, that $33 one is heavily played, ours is in much better condition, that's why it's $52," this dude looks at me like I just tried trading him a Caterpie for a Charizard and goes: "Why would I do that? That's my price. That one is all fucked up." BROTHER I DIDN'T KNOW. Then he basically tells me next time I need to learn and do my research before trying to make deals. Damn Professor Oak, my fault. I thought I walked into a card shop, not my final exam at Pokémon University. The funny part is I WASN'T trying to lowball the guy. I legitimately thought $45 was a fair offer based on what I had found. All he had to do was explain the difference and I would've been like, "Oh shit, okay, that makes sense." Instead he made me feel like an idiot for not knowing something. Then another guy walks in who obviously knows his Pokémon cards and suddenly the employee evolves into his final form. Now he's friendly, talking cards, buddy-buddy, having a great time. I'm standing there like damn, apparently I need 8 gym badges before customer service gets unlocked. Maybe the AC being ass had him irritated. Maybe he was hungry. Maybe Team Rocket stole his lunch. I don't know. But the customer service today was TERRIBLE. And that sucks because I actually like this store. I've spent hundreds here and specifically come here because I want to support a local mom-and-pop shop instead of buying everything online. Not everybody walking into a card shop is going to know everything about Pokémon. Some of us are getting back into something we loved as kids and finally have adult money to spend on it. Instead of making those customers feel stupid, teach them something. I promise you, we're probably the easiest people to sell cards to.

We've also had some of their burgers, tacos, and our daughter always gets a personal pizza. The personal pizza scenario is the only thing I have beef with here - you get a 7" plain cheese pizza for $12, and you can add a max of 3 toppings which cost extra, so in the end our kid's food is more expensive than ours. Hey Fat Joe's - pleeeease considering adding a small pizza to the kid's menu and price it closer to the other $7 and $8 items!!
