This Boomers in Vista (San Diego) is awesome! -They have a 2 story arcade -They have bumper boats -They have race cars (need to be 58" to drive by yourself but they also have cars for 2 people) -They have batting cages -They have laser tag -They have a large free parking lot My favorite thing about this Boomers is: -They have the most amazing mini golf! They have 2 mini golf courses: 1) pirate themed and 2) castle themed and both of the courses are really well maintained and have really cool features and tons of different obstacles. They have water features, the pirate course is 2 stories tall, they have really interesting holes, it's not just turf they have imitation sand and water and "rough" - the mini golf is really great here! I will gladly drive down from Orange County to come here to San Diego County because this Boomers is great! Just be warned they don't open until 11am on Sundays.

You get mini golf, lazer tag, go carts, bumper boats, arcade, batting cages and a sunburn. And maybe hand foot mouth. Can we PLEASE get an out door bathroom and places to wash hands?! I really think there should be a family pass, but it's $50/person for unlimited activities which is pretty pricy, but I guess it's better than an hour in an escape room. For $150 you can get an entire annual membership to any museum....plus lunch. It's just super expensive. Probably won't go more than a couple times a year, but it's fine. Food options here was pretty good, I liked the galactic themed food court. Healthy food options were a little hard to find, but I think they did have some salads. They had pizza, burgers, noodles, fried chicken and plenty of dessert carts scattered around the park. I recommend getting there right when they open because parking is pretty easy! Perfect rides for younger kids etc. Since they have been doing the fast pass, though, things have become irritatingly unbalanced. Typically fast pass gets feathered in at the head of the line- you go, I go style. But not LegoLand. LegoLand has decided that fast pass holders will go ahead of everyone regardless of how long you have been waiting. So let's say you have waited the estimated 65 minutes and are now at the front of the line. A group of 5 with fast pass walk up- they take your next spot. Ok- you think you are next- NOPE- another group with fast passes walks up, they get next and you are now like, FOR SURE I am next. NOPE you will not get on that ride so long as there are fast pass holders in line. Keeping kids stuck in line for longer than really necessary in this heat and humidity is uncalled for and frankly disgusting. Until they Learn to feather people in to the rides, I will not be renewing my family of 4 Elite passes. It's just a waste of our time and energy now. Don't get me started on not allowing strollers for babies who can't walk yet in the aquarium. Be so for real.

Or, in our case, we chose to wrap up the summer fun with something simple, nice, and close to home--so we headed to The Wave Waterpark in Vista. This local staple has been around since before I can remember, and returning as an adult brings back a wave of nostalgia. We walked right in without any hassle, and the restrooms and showers near the entrance were fairly clean and convenient. We reserved a private cabana, which I highly recommend for a cool, hassle-free home base during a long day in the sun. There are four water slides and all of them are a blast, featuring clear intensity ratings on the signage so you know what you're getting into before heading up. My whole family loved every slide, though surprisingly, my son said his absolute favorite spot was simply splashing around in the main pool. While slide wait times were smooth and efficient, the line to snag a free single tube for the lazy river can get jammed. We rented a double tube and a single tube directly, which saved us a ton of extra waiting. Standard theme park fare like pizza and nachos are available, but the real winning treats to beat the heat were the Dippin' Dots and root beer floats. Overall, it's a fantastic, family-friendly spot to cool down and pack in some quick summer fun. Planning a trip to the wave? I did love coming years ago and they'd limit how many would enter, you felt like you had the whole place to yourself. Now, there's just too many inside and everyone is rushing to be the first one to view the sea life animals. Overall the kiddos and I enjoyed it, and there is an area to touch the star fish, etc which is highly popular and a washing station. They have a tank filled with sharks, you see them swim above you as you walk through this tunnel. Time well spent with the fam here.

The ride is basically Legoland's answer to Disney's Jungle Cruise ride. You go around in a boat while the 'skipper' tells really bad puns about what you're looking at. Each skipper will give their own little spin on things, but generally they're all going off the same script so there isn't really a need to go on the ride multiple times for unique experiences each time. Some of the animation on the ride is broken. For example the massively impressive giant octopus & band was completely frozen last time we were there when usually it comes to life as the boat comes back to the dock at the end of the ride. Getting this animations back up and running consistently would be a huge improvement on this ride. But as it stands, the ride just sits there as a fun ride not living up to its intended and true potential.

Also, I thought all the small Lego details they added in with the dinosaur theme were awesome and helped make this area stand out from the rest of the park!
