UMMMM WOW. This place is the real deal. We were beyond impressed with the quality of food, esthetic, and service. Working in the industry, this does not go unnoticed. My man and I came in on a rainy Thursday for lunch with our two month old son. We were a little nervous to see if Surf would accommodate us sliding our little one in a booth so we could leave him in his car seat. There was no problem at all and we were seated right in a cozy booth near the bar area. Thank you to the hostess for being so warm and welcoming for our new family. I also want to note that the restroom had a separate private "stall" with a door, sink, toilet and a high end looking changing table - a nice touch for me as a new mom. Shay (we think this was our waitresses name, sorry if I am butchering it) was amazing! Thank you for the great service and recommendations of the menu. We started with some oysters and shrimp cocktail - holy shit the best. My guy got the Portuguese stew and LOVED IT, great presentation and flavor. For me, the lobster roll. This was mouth watering good, a hefty portion of lobster in a warm perfectly buttered toasted roll. I have to give a shout out to the side of FRIES, not sure what kind of crack spice you are putting on these but I couldn't stop eating them. The attention to detail with the presentation and plating of the dishes was amazing - we see you in the kitchen - thank you! I really think this place is one of the BEST meals we have ever had as far as seafood goes. This are seems to have a lot of good places to eat and this is one of them. So many things I wanted to try. I ended up with a very tasty cup of chowder, a little thinner than a traditional New England chowder but every bit as flavorful (and gluten free). The fried green tomato and bacon salad was huge and delicious and the even accommodated me and added calamari. My only complaint is there were too many to eat. Very filling. The Viognier was a delicious accompaniment. The Miso marinated salmon with fried rice cake was a little too much oil flavor. The Salmon was cooked to perfection. A lot of choices on the menu. I had been frequenting the Portsmouth location when I lived in NH, and I love that there is one in Woburn now. I haven't had a dish there that I didn't like. I had dinner at the surf restaurant in Woburn Massachusetts. The food was great, the service was good, and there is a variety of seafood for every taste. There's even a sushi bar with a large menu. I'm not a fan of sushi so I ordered a salad, the fried fisherman's platter, with key lime creme brulee for dessert. Everything was fantastic. I asked for some bread to eat with my salad and they brought me some ciabatta bread at no charge. The fried fisherman's platter was very good, a little too much for one person, I couldn't finish all the French fries. There is a baked version if you don't want fried food. The menu is extensive and there were couples there as well as larger groups. The restaurant is quite large with an outdoor seating area. There was a lot of food I was very hungry. Service was a little slow to begin with even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. But the management was extremely attentive and made sure that once they realized I had been waiting for a while, that my food was served. The restaurant is in a large shopping center so after you eat you can take a walk and get some exercise. If you're looking for a great seafood meal I recommend Surf. There are multiple locations in the greater Boston metro area. read more

Went to Surf last night for the first time, it's a brand new restaurant and I've only heard good things about it. Well it definitely lived up to the hype! Our server Derek was great, he was very warm and friendly, he talked to us about the menu, taking his time to explain certain dishes. We started with the wicked awesome tuna sushi roll, it was so fresh and tasty, I would return for the sushi alone. For my entree I got the Korean bbq scallops which were super flavorful. I would not describe the dish as "spicy," more of a smokey heat if that makes sense. The only thing to critique, and it isn't even a bad one, is that the mashed potatoes are said to have wasabi, I couldn't detect that at all, but they were still delicious! My mom got the lobster Kristina which she also loved! She just wished for more lobster lol. Excellent service and food, we will be back for sure. read more

Oh my lanta this was good--hubby and I were looking for one more seafood fix for the New England birthday weekend and we chose the right place. A great meal starting with drinks (mai tai for me, a salty one for hubby), raw bar with some yummy oysters and meaty clams, lobster fries for me and really delicious baked trio of seafood for him. Finding ourselves in Woburn area we looked at yelp and was glad to see that Surf has opened up a place there. We made our way there for two reasons, we liked the Surf in Nashua and it was open earlier than the other choices that could have been options around it. Well, we sat right down at the corner bar and ordered up the "perfect" Manhattan with Woodford Reserve and the Smokin Hot & Dirty with Titos. Yummy and the best way to relaxe before the meal. We decided to split and the bartender said that was easy, so we ordered the Tomato Bacon Salad, with a delightful light dressing over fresh spring mix and fried tomatoes and bacon. The combination still makes my mouth water. Satidfying and filling even though it was a split we decided to order the Korean BBQ Scallops and again split. The main dish was lightly spicy with a wasabi mashed potato accompanied by sesame seared French green beans and decorated with both a sweet chili sauce and amd tangy Korean BBQ sauce. Each half had 4 medium scallops seared to perfection. We left completely satisfied and enjoyed a delightful chat with the bartender during dinner. Our server Jen R was incredible. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. My mom and I split the Brussel sprouts Caesar, which was interesting and delicious. We each had a cocktail and got a fish dish. I had the haddock and lobster mashed potatoes, perfect in every way! And my mom had the miso salmon with the sesame rice cake. We finished both meals without a morsel left on our plates. We split the cheesecake of the day- carrot cake. Everything was great, and Jen was a truly phenomenal server. We had dinner here with family a few weeks ago. The food and service are great! Everything from the tuna sushi to our meals, drinks, and desserts was delicious. The parking is an absolute nightmare. The food is on the good side, but I think it's too expensive for Nashua & its decor. I mean, this isn't New York City or LA. Still, I've been here a number of times because there's nowhere else for our group to agree to go to for special events in this area. It feels "upscale" as compared to other local restaurants. I guess a lot of their fish dishes they can make well, but don't get anything that is Japanese, because it's weirdly Americanized. All their sushi has cream cheese in it... and I remember the miso soup had no miso in it. It was a somewhat tasty soup, but it was not miso soup. How hard is it to put actual miso in... you can get it at Whole Foods?! I make it all the time myself. It's a quick and easy soup to make, so it shouldn't cost $9, and it should have miso in it. Then, the decor: what is it with with all the "nice" restaurants in Nashua including this one, having hung ceiling tiles. Just get rid of that ceiling! It kills the atmosphere. I feel like I'm in a 1980s office space. How can you charge nice end Los Angeles restaurant prices with ceiling tiles and with low rents? Are they maybe paying the staff really well? I enjoyed my cocktails the best. And the staff is nice and attentive, so thumbs up on those. read more

Went here on Sunday with my bf around 5pm, we were seated immediately as a walk in. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and clean. Nice open concept with big open doors/windows, letting in a lot of light and views. Perfect vibes for a seafood restaurant. Our waiter was extremely nice and attentive. We ordered the raw oysters, the fried calamari, and the Portuguese seafood stew. All of the dishes had big portions. The oysters were perfect, really fresh and came with a couple of toppings to dress the oysters. As for the calamari and seafood stew, they were ok. There was a cream sauce on top of the calamari that was way too sour and we didn't realize until too late that the marinara sauce was underneath all the calamari. The stew had a good variety of seafood but just lacked salt and didn't come with enough bread. With the oysters having a vinegar/lemon dressing, the calamari being covered in a really sour sauce, and the stew being tomato based it all just came out a little too sour. We have heard mixed reviews so I thought we would try it for ourselves. We were very disappointed. The bartenders made an OK drink but the bar was empty, no chance they would smile as they were miserable. The bar was very dirty with buckets of dirty dishes. They basically did nothing but make drinks like it was a chore. Food was not very good. The place was empty. My wings came out cold and very dry. No dipping sauce or veggies with them. The blueberry crumble was also good. If I had to pick one or two perfect, "don't miss" bites? It would be the new wngland bake, with scallops, shrimp, and haddock, all baked with a crispy ritz topping, white wine sauce, lemon, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. This dish tasted like a memory from childhood, but better. I'd also pick the umami veggie roll as a perfect bite. A rare Sunday night date night brought us to a new place. When seated at the Surf, we learned that it has been only open for a month and a half. Folks, I am here to tell you... go there! To be truthful, I was reticent to try it because of a less than stellar try at another newer seafood restaurant, but how wrong I was. We kind of went off our usual M. O. (Which is split a salad, two entrees sharing tastes) to ordering "small plates". She has the Brussels sprouts Caesar salad, and braised mussels with chorizo , and although I am not a fan of Brussels sprouts, the salad wasn't bad at all. The mussels... just plain fantastic, a bit spicy thanks to the chorizo and some curry flavor along with onion and tomato. This was a healthy serving for a small plate. Which comes to me... I ordered Dragon Shrimp and, wait for it... Lobster Fries!!! The fries were amazing. Thick cut French fries with chunks of lobster, lobster bisque and queso fresco... I know, right? The best fries I have eaten, and I love smothered fries of all sorts!! The shrimp were spicy and delicious too, lightly breaded with a sweet and spicy sauce. A word about the rest of the menu, it is wonderful, diverse and original! Part of the reason for our choices is that we're so many good choices, we could not decide. Even the landlubbers have good options. Service was nothing less than perfect (thank you Sophia, and the others who helped her out). We had delicious fresh cappuccino and Maine blueberry crisp to complete the meal. I will say that the topping on the crisp was a bit sweet for my taste, but the dessert was still good, with fresh wild blueberries. One other note, like so many other new restaurants, it is set up to have lots of ambient noise, I guess that is a thing now.
