Similar experience to others. Make sure the lights are flashing and you get the wash you paid for. They let me go through again, but all I got was the cheapest rinse off. I did call and told the manager that he needs to be telling people that they will only recieve the cheapest rinse off. He replied NO! Then he hung up on me. They were extremely busy, but just a heads up. It's best just to get the $11 dollar wash because that's what you will end up with. read more

I had been going to this car wash since it opened, for 2 years I bought the membership. This last year they've had this employee with horrible customer service. I put up with it for a while, but one time he started cussing at the employees from the entrance of the car wash to the office - that was extremely inappropriate, then continued on to being rude to me for having my bike rack on my car ( which I did not know - unfortunately that I was supposed to take it off , I could have been asked to remove it before I went in. I've been coming to Surf Thru since it first opened. The quality of wash is now really poor. A lot of soap left over on the car and there was still dirt left that I had to clean myself which I never had to in the past. A year ago I went through the wash and the system was not puting out soap. I pulled around to the vacuum area and told the "supervisor" in charge. I wanted to go back through unpaid with soap and he told me he couldn't do that. So I asked for a comped wash and again he said he couldn't do that either. Since then this place has been on a steady decline. Now it's at dirt bottom! read more

I was set to leave a bad review because this car wash is pretty poor if you just drive through it in regular fashion. They used to have the guys in front attack the bugs with scrub brushes, but they no longer do that. As a result the car wash removes no bugs whatsoever. I had to go back through a second time and ask if there was anything they could do to get those off. The guy at the payment window then personally came around to the wash bay himself, and pressure-washed my car to make sure that I got it done right. I wish I caught his name. If he isn't the manager, he should be. The young kids that were supposed to spray my car down the first time were clearly not in the mood to work and didn't really do much of anything. But he knows what's up. If he's working, I'll go back, otherwise, I might skip it. read more

Most of the employees are really nice and polite and Harrold is really good at what he does. But for what it costs it isnt worth it, just wash your car yourself. I have also heard that corporate pretty much doesnt treat their employees well from being write up happy at even the best employees to corporate wanting a high turnover rate because "they always want new faces because it looks better to people" which all of that is ridiculous. read more

Worst car wash I've ever had and a complete waste of $20. There was only brushes that got the side of the car. Nothing ever actually scrubbed the hood, windshield, roof or back. My car was still covered in soap when I left and soaking wet. It looked like I just gave it a quick spray with a hose. Never going back here again. read more

I haven't had my registered car for almost a month and have not used the service during that time. They would not honor a one time wash of my rental car. Mind you, there are months where I don't use this service outside of this incident, and they still collected and I never complained. Terrible business model based on terrible customer service. Supervisor was lazy and kept sending this young girl back and forth until I asked to talk with them so she didn't have to be a messenger caught in a situation her supervisor should be handling. Fast friendly car wash just wish they had people on both sides scrubbing instead of one on the drivers side and one just standing around with him. They let me go through twice if it needs it.... Starting to slip! They took away two people on the entrance to the wash so only half the car gets a good shoot down before you enter. Price for the monthly went up too. Interesting concept here... raise price and take away some of the service. I would really like to give them five stars. The help is wonderful. Unfortunately my experience wasn't wonderful. I went through the car wash the first time and nothing worked except for the tracks that pull you through. I went through a second time and the soap all worked, but it didn't rinse the car off. My car is now completely soapy. The car wash is not working and and per the attendant, David, the manager refused to give me a refund. They will only give me a 24 hour pass to use at another surf through car wash. Not super helpful when I don't live in the area!! read more

Do not go here. Read the reviews. If they damage your car, they will not pay for it even if they know they were responsible. Before I even brought my car through the wash, one of the kids pushed in my driver side view mirror, not folded it from front to back, but pushed it straight on from the side and broke the housing. Mind you, I just bought my 2018 4Runner TRD Off Road not 3 days ago from CarMax. I inspected every inch of that vehicle and they have photos from every angle and it was in pristine condition. The kid didn't apologize, just said, "We'll, that's not good", and handed me back one of the broken pieces. He couldn't even find the other broken piece so that I can at least glue my housing back together. The manager on duty never came out, I had to go in and request for the manager. He took photos while another associate scribbled my information down. I was told that they would look into the video recording and get back to me. They called me a week later and said that they reviewed the video and did not think the kid pushed my mirror "aggressively" and will not cover the damage. I have been going to this car wash for 5 years with my Toyota Highlander and never had any problems with employees folding in my side view mirrors. My wife has been going here with her Toyota Tundra. This new kid broke the side view mirror on my recently purchased vehicle, they can't accept responsibility for? Take your money elsewhere. This place has no integrity. read more

I would give this place a 2.5 if I could but I'll be generous and round up to 3. I got the most expensive car wash they offered and it took off about 75% of the dirt on my car. My windshield was still really dirty, and the front bumper of my car was still really dirty. The workers were very friendly, my rims are super clean, and the vacuums work really well so that's where the positives come in. I'd only come here again to use the vacuums. If anything, pay the cheapest wash (which I can't imagine being worse than the most expensive one considering it didn't clean my car) and then use the vacuums. read more

I've been going to the Carson City, NV location for about 4 years. During this time the machines have functioned correctly not even a quarter of the last 4 years. Especially the brushes for the back end. I've spoken to past managers and current manager. Finally last week the back end got cleaned, BUT the amount of soap they are using now is a quarter of the soap it once used. My whole family has the monthly subscription and we will ALL be canceling as there are a few drive throughs in the area now that are much better. read more

I have over 30 years experience in car wash repairs and installation I went through the wash and there was no water on the brushes there was soap applied at start of wash you need soap and water to lubricant the brushes so they washed my truck with dry brushes , that's how you get scratches in your paint I will never use this wash again read more

I went to Surf thru Williams street. Surf thru does NOT have the scrubber people at the beginning of the wash. Our car came out dirty. For 17.00 dollars we still have a dirt car. The manager refunded my money, but my car is still dirty. There was another man that drove up and left because of no scrubber guys. The cars are not clean. It's very sad because we used Surf Thru for many years. I hope the owners take note to these bad review's. read more

I've been coming to surf thru for about 4 months. Every time I leave my car looks show room new. That's no exaggeration. I love the fact that I get complimentary use of the vacuum system, garbage cans and their pinpoint air compressing tool (I just wish it had more pressure). How kewl that this organization re-cycles their wash water and provides a place for me to put recyclables. I dig recycling, big time! On my last two visits I've noticed a young lady named Ashley. She is very friendly and extremely helpful getting my air freshener and dash wipe....pretty much whatever I need. Similar to say a great bartender, when I rollup Ashley runs in and grabs me a cup of coffee (btw, who drank all the creme and didn't replace it????). I included her picture. She's also a good sport! I've belonged to 3 car wash clubs since moving here and this one tops them all. It could be the impressive vacuum Bay. It could be the friendly staff (which I did not experience at the other two). Maybe it's subtle differences like this place blows the car dry and has rainbow soap. All I know is I will be returning and returning often. read more

Well, I've been using the annual membership for several years. Earlier on, it was marvelous; two CARING scrubbers, attention to detail, and machinery working well. The cars came out REALLY CLEAN and DRY. It started to go downhill the last couple of years or so, unfortunately. Equipment outages were and are, fairly common, resulting in a poor wash. The scrubbers-now down to ONE, only do one side of the car and in a very cavalier, non-caring fashion, AND of course there are none that stick around, unlike earlier years!!!, I used to give thw That says A LOT about the company. To re-state my complaints from last year[s] and before. The conveyor runs TOO FAST!! This results in: not enough time for scrubber's soap to penetrate, not enough time for the machine applied soaps to penetrate, not enough time for the brushes to do a more thorough job, not enough time for the Rain-X and rinses to clean off the soap!!!!!!!, and the blower passage is so fast that it leave water spots all over the vehicle. Also, the tire scrubber sign has been inoperative for MONTHS! The tire shining mechanism doesn't work evenly on both sides Please DON'T tell me that you have to run it fast when you are busy- the time difference only would amount to about 30 seconds or so- and ALL of us would rather have a cleaner, dryer car than gain a minute more. This business should be run for the CUSTOMER'S satisfaction, not just to make profits bigger. And of course, typical of corporate America, large and small, the prices go up each year and the services provided are less and less. It is really a shame that such a wonderful business to begin with, has slipped so far, and prices much higher. Yes I will, yet again, do my annual membershlp today, but if things don't turn around. I will definitely take my annual business elsewhere, even if I can only find monthly memberships. When I was In LA in the 60s and 70s, a close friend of mine ran a very successful car wash, so I KNOW the $$ business, especially since you can now "afford" to open many more locations. Nowadays, with all the newer fancier mechanical aids, It should be much better. SHAME ON YOU!! And what in the hell is "Graphene"!!!! You don't state it ANYWHERE, even on your website!!!! I used to be a member and come here all the time. Within the last six months this place has really gone downhill. I cancelled my membership several months ago but decided to give it another try today. It was awful. One person on duty so no window wash or spray on one side of my vehicle. One of the spinning washers was not working. Half the rinse nozzles on one side were inoperable. When I went to vacuum I could see how much the washer missed. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! read more

The staff always does a good job getting the windows washed up before driving through. I always come to this car wash when I'm in town. I usually get the $18 car wash, and that gives you a coupon for $5 off your next wash. I always use that coupon for my family's other car within 10 days. read more

I have a barcode on the windshield, pull up, the computer knows what wash I get, the arm goes up and I'm in for my wash. There are two folks that wash the stubborn grime off the car before you enter the wash itself. After you exit, you pull around to the clean, shaded area where you can vacuum, air tires, use the mat wash (for a small adtl. fee) and wipe the inner areas of your car the wash doesn't get. Ladies, you will feel safe here too as it is well lit and did I mention ATTENDED?! Oh yes, fast in an out too. I haven't had to wait yet-plenty of spaces to vac and finish! All water is recycled and treated to conserve water. Any remaining contaminants are handled by an environmental company licensed for proper disposal NOT sent down the drain into our sewers and water bodies. Way to run a business, you guys. Like so many others on these reviews, I have been a customer of Surf Thru in Carson City for years (nce they opened and always received great car washes and great customer service. Not any more. Apparently, Corporate changed their policies on January 2024. They raised their prices, got rid of one of their prewash employees leaving just one, obviously unhappy, young man to squirt a little bit of prewash on his side of the front and back of my car, no brushes to be found, and then sending the car thru the auto wash without a look back. We examined the car up on exit, found the dirt you see in the photos, then went back thru a second time, assuming my car was dirtier than we thought. However, these pictures were taken after the second time thru! So we circled back around and asked to speak to a manager, who upon glancing at the car, shrugged and refused to give me a refund. Said it went against company policy, and all he could do was allow me to go thru the wash again! I asked him why they only had one prewash person and he said corporate laid off some workers and everyone left was pretty much part time. When I asked him if he would be satisfied with such an outcome, he shrugged again and said I could contact corporate directly and handed me the COMPLETELY WORTHLESS piece of paper shown here with NO CONTACT INFORMATION ON IT WHATSOEVER. Brought our car here last week and had to get rewashes because we figured out after that the top roller wasn't even on. The supervisor came out and was able to help out and turned it on himself. Came back with the truck a few days later and we have the same luck. They just don't turn the top roller on. Truck came out filthy just like the car did. Over it. Not coming back. read more
