Last week got pick up from Sushi 805 (during the COVID-19 shelter at home situation) and we did all-you-can-eat for 2 people and they were more than generous (especially during this time)! The food was great and high quality as usual and they really took care of us! We are regulars here and we really recommend supporting this local business during this time by ordering (some really tasty) take away sushi or korean bbq-- even their salads are fantastic (i LOVE their avocado salad, which is my go-to if i don't do all-you-can-eat). They even brought the sushi out to our car and I think they are open for curbside pick up (we went in to pay and place our order). Also-- our family is compromised of pescatarians, vegetarians, and even vegans and we all have many options to choose from we really enjoy at Sushi 805! And I have brought my carnivore friends too and they have really enjoyed the meat/bbq options! Every time I go out of town with my family we always go try new sushi places because I love sushi so much and I always look for AYCE! I highly do not recommend this place at all. There's no point of ordering AYCE which I specifically ask 2 times if all the rolls on the AYCE menu were full regular sizes or are they smaller portions because I noticed my sister rolls were all full sizes 6-10 and are huge and if they were then I would rather not do AYCE and just get something from the regular menu instead but the server goes no they are not full sizes and that they come in half the sizes of the rolls on the regular menu. I didn't even make it past the 1st round to say, one of the roll rice was way undercooked so I didn't touch it after the second piece. Worst experience ever from the moment we walk in with poor communication and out with an attitude from the old lady that seems to be the owner. If you do decided go here make sure you READ ALL THE FINE PRINTS and ask before you order anything because my kids orders had a bunch missing items and I almost got charge double for AYCE on my end and our table which includes my little family and my sister little family got charge twice for gratuities. If you want to pig out on solidly yummy sushi, this is the place for you. The portions are huge, the fish is fresh, and the flavors are so good! Every sushi roll was delicious, and the sushi was above average. The only way you could get better quality is if you went to a nice place like Goshi in SLO and pay an arm and a leg for 2 slices. The service was outstanding and the people were very kind however the all you can eat was definitely higher price range than I expected 37$, but it was my birthday so I let it slide. They do not do military or first responder discounts. We ate outside and they practiced clean and sane techniques to prevent any Covid-19 spreads. Was lured in by the all you can eat sushi. $25.99 for 90 mins of eating bliss that includes many items besides straight sushi. You fill out a form for each round, the food is all prepared and brought to you and you can fill out the next round. If you leave 1/2 roll (8pc rolls) you will be charged for that roll. Daniel and Shane were exceptionally quick and efficient in explaining the menu, order taking and keeping the table tidy. They were both very affable and a great representation of the brand.Kufos to the guys behind the curtain. The food was well prepared and came out in a timely manner. The first round was delicious. I tried the shrimp tempura (good proportion of shrimp to batter), shrimp tempura roll, crunch shrimp roll and the Japanese lasagna roll (holy yum!) I did order vegtable tempura and it did not come out in round 1. Just tacked it to my second/ last round that included some more shrimp tempura, vegetable tempura and gyoza. Came here with a large group for dinner. It was my first time doing all-you-can-eat ($34.99 per person). For people who know how it works, it was probably easy to understand. For me it was a bit complicated. We had 1 1/2 hours to eat within 3 rounds and could only order so much per person or else there is an additional fee. It was a lot of fun to do with a group. Most importantly, the sushi was fresh. The restaurant was clean and our server was very friendly. I didn't care for the Spicy Yellowtail Roll. Okay so where to start... My company was in the area because of a job we got at Pismo. We decided to dine here for the night since it was close to where we were staying. The appetizers were fine. The baked clam was a little runny but whatevers. Then the sushi rolled out and it all went downhill from there. The sushi had at least double portions of rice each. The salmon sushi had a thin slice of meat with 2+ servings of rice. EVERY piece of sushi that came out was stacked with rice. Do people in this area eat sushi for the rice? Cause that's not sushi. The funniest part was that the rice to fish ratio differed with each piece of sushi that came out. Also, one of the squid sushi had an eyelash on it (see pictures). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a picture of the thinly sliced salmon on the sushi, but here are some pictures of our sushi experience at this restaurant. At the end of our meal, they had the audacity to charge 7 bucks for the rice we took out. My friends and I came here... the waiter was nice but the food was beat. For nearly $65 each they served us food that seemed past due , dry and smelled musty. I would never come here again, I would actually pay people to eat somewhere else. I hope whoever reads this, does NOT consider going here. After dining here- we all threw up down the road at the butterfly sanctuary( see attached picture). Sushi 805 is an All-You-Can-Eat Sushi restaurant. BUT, you don't have to order all you can eat to eat here! Ordering rolls and some authentic Korean BBQ is totally welcome. Their sushi is delicious, fresh, and the menu has wide variety. You can play it safe or try something different, it will be good no matter what! If you do order All-You-Can-Eat, be aware that they have very strict rules about sharing. It's best if your whole party orders All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE), since it is paid per person and sharing is allowed between AYCE customers. You must finish your first round before placing your next order, and taking home leftovers is not permissible. You must finish what you order. It sounds strict, but from a business perspective, the rules make sense. They don't want people paying the AYCE price to sample the whole menu and leave three meals worth of leftovers wasted. That being said, if someone in your party does not order AYCE, they will hover to make sure once that person's plate is empty, it is cleared from the table. Do not eat from an AYCE plate if you did not pay the AYCE price. For the AYCE menu, the entire regular dinner menu is available, so you could, technically, pay the AYCE price and just order BBQ, no sushi. Or the other way around. I highly recommend the Gyoza and ordering a few rolls to share. The ramen is delicious as well as the BBQ beef. Sushi 805 has skilled chefs. The staff is attentive, but it really depends who your server is. I've had great and not-so-great service here. The food, however, is consistently fresh, delicious and authentic. It may not look like much on the outside, but Sushi 805 has substance, in both the quality of the food and variety of the menu. Come here on a date night or with the family, it's great for everyone! The service here is great. The people are very friendly and helpful. However, I ordered the chicken teriyaki plate and the serving isn't that big for how much you pay for it. I would give this place zero stars but since they only limit me to having one star review, they can go ahead and count this as a minus 1 star review. I will never eat here ever again and I recommend you go spend your money at some other joint elsewhere even some hole in the wall ma and pa restaurant would be better than this place for many reasons. These people act like thugs. Wait till I share with you my full experience.... You'll say "nope, not even gonna bother wasting my time testing the waters there." We placed our phone order just after 8 PM - an hour before they close. Our order consisted of seven cucucumber with avocado rolls- sesame seeds around the outside and and the salted/vinegar rice like they make it. We also ordered three eel rolls With the sesame seeds and the salted / vinegar rice. We ordered a spicy salmon roll and a spicy tuna roll with sesame seeds and the salted /vinegar rice. We ordered chicken udon with the big noodles and chopped vegetables in it. We ordered 2 orders of miso with tofu and green onions in it. We ordered a spicy chicken Ramen soup. This is a pretty standard order of just basic stuff. nothing fancy or special. We picked up our order, and without even looking inside the bags (which they had tied up in a tight knot so that you have to rip the bag open)- we gave them a $15 tip (Which I would never do to just pick up food - but I was trusting and affirming their business with the assumption that everything will be there.) We get home and this is what we find: All seven cucumber avocado rolls have only avocado in them but no cucumber in them whatsoever, in addition no sesame seeds and the rice tastes bland rather than with that salt and vinegar flavor that they're supposed to prepare the rice with. ( That's three strikes already on the first ordered item alone) Next, all three eel rolls barely had any eel in it, I'm talking about they were 95% cucumber stuffed in there with one thin shred of eel meat. No sweet eel sauce on it. It's like they took the cucumbers from the seven rolls of cucumber avocado and shoved all the cucumber into the ER rolls so that they wouldn't have to use up there eel meat. Once again, no sesame seeds and no salted/vinegar rice. (That's 4 more strikes on just the second ordered item alone) And does it stop there? Nope. To follow up, neither the spicy salmon role nor the spicy tuna role - tasted right at all. They were both very unenjoyable. It's like they spilled curry powder all over it and dumped a ton of salt so that it tasted bitter and way too overpowering on a certain flavor in there that you couldn't even taste any of the heat. ... Just spices in an over abundance to the point that we didn't even want to finish eating them. Yeah, it was SPICY all right - FULL of different "sPiCe$" of every kind that you would never throw into something like that. Additionally they also skimped on both tuna and salmon. But what did they put in there instead - tons of cucumber. They should've called these "cucumber rolls with a hint of noxious salmon or tuna". And look at that no sesame seeds and no salted/vinegar rice. (This one got four more strikes EACH - so that makes EIGHT strikes per ordered item) ...if you've already lost count - so far we're at 15 strikes on four items thus far. The udon noodles had almost no vegetables in i, there was a two shreds of cabbage and though they managed to put chicken in the chicken udon noodles.... they put the cold noodles into some other container... Who does that? I want those noodles hot and in the same container as the soup so that they are flavored with the soup. Unfortunately there wasn't much flavor in the chicken udon noodle soup base... It seemed like it was severely under flavored - very bland, as if they had run out of whatever season they were supposed to use. At this point I'm thinking -"are these people drunk while making this stuff???, or are they just con artists undercover as 805 sushi?" They put too much of some ingredients in one and not enough in the others... What is going on? This is not what we ordered. (That's three more strikes on this one ordered item alone) Then the two orders of miso soup came with no tofu in it and no green onions... Just broth! Are you serious? Who does that??? The broth was at least flavorful and you could drink it down and it tasted good... There was no substance to it - too bad they didn't put any of the other ingredients in there that would've made it more substantial and then I wouldn't have had a complaint about it. (That's two more strikes on this one ordered item alone.) ( that's 20 strikes) And now for the "coup de grace" - the worst item of all judging on its flavor alone, was the spicy chicken Ramen soup. Cucumber salad was extremely over salted and totally inedible. I've made the dish at home many times and it is easy to make restaurant quality. I had to spit it out and threw it away. Came in here last Sunday evening about 8 PM. This place was packed, We took the last booth. They sat us within minutes after cleaning the table. I watch them clean the table the whole booth from top to bottom. We were greeted by young lady name Brittany, she is so sweet and super friendly. Our server was really a tentative and everything came out accordingly. Everything was amazing, It was all top-notch made with high quality ingredients. All the seafood was fresh. And the Ramen had an amazing flavor to it. Great portions and the prices were just right. Cannot wait to go back and try that all you can eat, the locals said good things about it. We don't have a lot of AYCE places in the area so I was really looking forward to it but when we got the bill I immediately regretted choosing this place. I'm used to paying anywhere from $23-30 for AYCE. It was $37 per person and it wasn't listed anywhere on the menu. (If it was it definitely wasn't obvious) I'm pretty sure when I added up what we got it would have been cheaper to just order separately. And we did not order light! AYCE is supposed to be a deal not a complete rip off. 3 stars is because the food was actually pretty good and fresh (besides the shellfish roll. For example, a high use of mayo on rolls, generic food court Yakisoba flavor, etc. Fish were fresh while curiously shrimp was not par. 3.5/5 Service Staff seemed need more training. Came here during a weekend trip to Pismo Beach and enjoyed the all you can eat dinner. To start: the sushi isn't the best that's out there, but I doubt many people going here expect the highest quality. What redeems it is the really cheap prices for all you can eat (~$30/person for dinner) and wide selection available. You can choose between rolls, pieces, and other small plates and appetizers. For the all you can eat menu, you get a paper and check off all of the items you want to order in a round, they'll prepare it, and then you can order again once you've finished/are ready for the next round. We ordered a bunch of different rolls and dishes, and really enjoyed most everything. If you're a fan of raw oysters, you can only order the oyster shooter for one round, so don't miss out on that! The only thing I didn't particularly enjoy were the spicy garlic edamame (I thought the sauce was too sticky and would've preferred just normal) and the scallop sushi (nigri), which was cooked and mixed with some spice or sauce that I could have done without. In terms of service, we were seated immediately and experienced friendly, fast service throughout the meal. The all you can eat dinner is limited to an hour and a half, but our waitress said that no one really times you, so that wasn't really a limiting factor (although if you can continue to eat sushi for over an hour and a half straight, I'm impressed). Overall, if you want pretty standard sushi for a really good price, I'd recommend this place! read more
