My friend and I went to this place out of sheer hunger and we regretted it so much. First of all, I do have to say that their service was amazing and the lady (manager/owner I assume) that served us was super sweet. The 2 stars is for their quality of food. We didn't do AYCE and just ordered the salmon roll, eel & avocado roll, spicy tuna roll and salmon nigiri. After the first piece, we both thought the rice tasted a little funny and we felt this slight crunchiness as if we were eating burnt rice. On top of that, the seaweed used inside the rolls was chewy and not crispy as how seaweed should be. Then I thought okay, perhaps its a off day for their rolls. I thought this place was just ok. My wife and I ordered two rolls, it was buy one get one at 50% off. The avocado on one looked a bit old do we removed it. Taste was ok but lots of rice. We then ordered a bowl of beef ramen. The beef was tough and some parts were not edible, the broth lacked flavor but the noodles were ok. We tried to order lunch as it was about 2 pm but was told lunch was only available weekdays - Really! Don't want to knock this place to much as they seem to try, but they need to change things up a bit if they want to stay in business. I for one will not be back nor will I recommend, wish I could but I can't. read more

04/09/19 I decided to try the AYCE because my previous visit left me confident enough in their food quality to be ordering AYCE. Well, I learned that a single order of salmon and yellowtail nigiri is not sufficient to judge quality. I was really disappointed that the AYCE doesn't include yellowtail nigiri. Seriously!? What kind of AYCE Sushi place doesn't offer yellowtail? It is one of the most common fish at sushi places - salmon , tuna, and yellowtail. Salmon and yellowtail are my two favorite fish to order from AYCE. It's always at least ten orders of each every time I'm at AYCE sushi. Oh well. I proceeded to order salmon, tuna, albacore, mackerel, scallops, and ikura. The only fish that tasted good was the salmon and albacore. Everything else tasted old or not fresh. The scallops were drenched in mayo. Unfortunately I do not have a picture, but in the second round of my order, one of the salmon nigiri was brought out with a BIG BROWN spot on it. I was appalled. Why in the world would the sushi chef, which was the owner, allow that to happen? Why would he even leave the brown spot on the fish? He could have at least cut it off instead of leaving it on the fish, where I can see it and clearly feel disgusted. Honestly I am just going to drive a couple miles down to another sushi place that I know will be of better quality than this place. Tasted similar to what I was used to when I was living in San Diego. Ordered the soft shell crab. Came with a salad. Very tasted and on par with other sushi restaurants. Ordered the Spider Roll and Black Dragon Roll. Couldn't taste the soft shell crab or the eel. Didn't like the coconut flavor from the crunch at all. Showed up with a party of 5 and got seated right away. Of course if there was a new sushi joint in town, I had to try it and to top it off this place is AYCE! (All You Can Eat). When my friends and I first walked in, we noticed the decor immediately. The decor is very modern and upscale compared to your other sushi restaurants, especially for being in this run of the mill plaza. Even though they are in their grand opening and still trying make a name for themselves, their presentation is great. The cuts of fish were fantastic, very light and buttery on the pallet. They serve their appetizers in little baskets and drinks in mason jars, can't get anymore stylish than that! The restaurant is a little smaller than most AYCE places, but that makes it even more special! Our server was kind and prompt with whatever we needed. All the food from both the kitchen and sushi bar was very tasteful. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to go treat themselves for AYCE sushi to come here! I believe they have changed the ownership. Last time we've there, it was ok. Not fantastic but a-ok. But this time, Friday night, the tables were somewhat filled and 2 Sushi Chefs & 3 servers. So not too bad of the wait for food. I liked the fact that you can choose AYCE and also regular menu. They also had Kids Menu as well. We did AYCE and there were good Sushi. But my most favorite was their Soft Tofu Soup!!! It was on the regular menu as well as on AYCE menu. The server even brought me rice and extra Kimchi!! There are extended menu so picky eaters should be able to find something to eat. Sushi rice was a bit harder-side but they were all tasty. Pretty good selection of drinks too. I came in on the weekend for dinner by with my two boys and got great service from SU. Such a nice person and well deserving of a better than usual tip. The price was very typical of all you can eat sushi places around here. The place is very welcoming and better ambiance than other nearby places. I came here because the other regular places weren't consistent in service and quality. I wasn't disappointed. We ordered about 60 salmon and 10 rolls and 6 hand rolls on the first order along with the usual house salad and miso soup and tempura and mussels. We were pretty content, so the next orders were just fillers and new selections. But I had to order the fresh fruit salad. I have to say it's the best salad I have had at any sushi AYCE place. I will be coming back here again for my next sushi feast and will update then. read more

I'm sorry I don't mean to talk badly or take business away from restaurants at a time like this but my husband and I usually go to Sake Roll Sushi but they were closed tonight so we came here and first they were really disorganized. A guy kept coming up to me to take my order but then he would change his mind and asked me to ask someone else like 2 times. Then it took 30 min (which is reasonable) had they been busy but they only had 2 customers before me and 2 chefs working. At Sake Roll it's only one guy and your wait is never more than 15 min. Anyway then we get home and we get swollen sushi rolls with the spicy mayo and Teriyaki sauce in lil cups instead of them already being prepared. Take a look. We came in on a Monday night and were able to be seated right away. The wait staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Good prices, decent food. I recommend the Spicy Salmon and the Eel & Avocado rolls! All in all, it was fairly empty, but again a Monday night so... It was fairly quiet and was a calm atmosphere. My only grievance was the amount of t.v. screens, but that is a personal preference of mine, I don't like a lot of screens in a restaurant. This sushi restaurant is located next to a Stater Bros in a stop mall. Yesterday was my first time here. They have outdoor seating and limited indoor seating. I was standing waiting to place my takeout order for a little while. I didn't see A hostess around so I walked up to the sushi bar and they sent someone over. My sushi order was ready in 15 minutes. My appetizer was the spicy garlic edamame. It was different from others I have tasted. It has some kind of spicy sauce instead of the whole red spicy peppers I've had at other places. It was a bit too spicy for me and there was no way for me to dig out the peppers. Order it if you like very spicy edamame because the flavor is very interesting. The salmon sashimi melted in my mouth. It was very fresh and delicious. I also had the BSCR which was different from what I've had. This one has eel sauce instead of the mayonnaise sauce on top and it was not warm. It was different, but very good. The Salmon Delight was amazing! Those paper thin slices of lemon taste so good when you bite into the roll. I want to try their poke or bento boxes next time. All you can eat for almost $40 was definitely not worth it. Some of the sushi felt old like the salmon skin roll with stale salmon skin. The seaweed in almost all the rolls also felt old and rubbery. The rolls were also way too big and had too much rice. They were not ideal for all you can eat. The service was great though. read more
