Takoyaki (octopus and dough balls) was a bit fishy for some tastes, but a seafood lover like myself was able to enjoy it. Salmon roll was mild and tender. Rainbow roll was alright, the presentation was lacking a bit in the takeout box. The super crunch roll had an extra kick to it, it was tad spicier than expected but nothing insane. The dancing shrimp tasted very similar but was less spicy. Both specialty rolls matched each other in texture and could be redundant. But they were so flavorful! I've been to many sushi places around this area and when I tell you that not only are the employees so nice but the food is so amazing! I was talking to the waitress and she mentioned that the chef has been doing this job for 35 years ! Except for large parties, you get seated inside the individual rooms. After you place your order, the waitress will bring down the noren curtain to create a sense of privacy while you eat. The overall atmosphere is serene and peaceful, providing an ideal environment to enjoy your meal. My favorite special rolls are the dancing shrimp roll (saucy), the crunch shrimp tempura roll (less saucy), and tiger roll (not saucy, very light). Decor wise, it's dark but has some Japanese inspired themes. They can pack a decent size crowd if they need to. It wasn't super packed when I went. The menu is pretty what you would find at any sushi restaurant. Nothing here seem too unique. Prices were average for what they are charging for sushi in the area. You can get either traditional nigiri style or American style sushi rolls. They also have udon, ramen, and rice dishes. Like I said nothing you haven't seen before on Japanese restaurant menu. The fish quality itself was good wasn't the best I had. It was slightly above average but I've had fresher before. Overall, this isn't a bad place but it's nothing I haven't had before either. There are so many similar places in the area, that this place doesn't really do much to distinguish itself from the competition in the area. We were craving sushi, and saw that they had a 50% deal on all rolls. We had to try it! We got the Crunchy Shrimp Tempura Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Crazy Girl Roll, and the Chicken Yakitori. The Crazy Girl Roll was interesting to try, but because it was a fried roll it was really heavy and the texture wasn't as appealing. The batter also gave the roll a weird taste. My daughter wanted some sushi, so we tried to find a place on the way home from a basketball game. This place popped up on Yelp, and the reviews, though not many, were solid, so we came here. The biggest challenge was the language barrier. The server did not speak good English at all, and even pointing to the menu wasn't really helping, because things still got messed up. For one, my daughter had ordered miso soup with a side of rice, and some salmon sashimi. She ended up with salmon nigiri, and we all got miso soup and ginger salad, which apparently they give that to everyone? Then the food came without our drinks which was odd. My boyfriend had ordered the 5 piece appetizer hot wings, and he got a plate of ten. We had to tell her she gave us the wrong order, and that was a difficult task in itself. Then somehow we got a chicken fried rice platter, which no one had ordered. It was just a mess, and honestly I know these mistakes were not on purpose, and the sushi chef tried his best to rectify everything, but it was just a lot. My volcano roll was so-so, and the ginger salad was terrible with really watery flavorless dressing. My daughter did like her miso soup, but her sashimi was half-frozen. Went on a week night place was quiet and only about 2-3 customer so we got seating and orders went in fast. It was half off appetizers when we were there we got the edamame. Our meals came with a salad and miso soup. Salad dressing had more of an orange taste than ginger dressing which was different. Ordered the shrimp teriyaki came out on the sizzling plates but wasn't sizzling. Was nicely seasoned. Sushi was ok. The spicy mayo sauce had a overly mayo taste to it. And the fish was room temp/ warm which I didn't like too much. Since I didn't eat much sushi the waitress had the sushi chef come over and ask if there was a problem. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, do NOT eat here. Our waitress was shockingly rude here even when it was a mistake on her part. Their prices have also increased (by a base of $2+). My sister had requested a Dragon roll just without any eel (stressed that multiple times) - which the waitress said could be done. The waiter brings the food (at least 30 minutes after we've already ordered), and my sister notes that there is meat she doesn't recognize. She asks the waiter what it is, and the lady responds that it is eel. Apparently they just omitted the eel sauce, and not the actual eel. My sister says that she cannot eat this, and this lady dares to yell at us/ask us "Can you even read?", and keeps aggressively pointing at the menu in our faces. I can understand if there are language barriers, but it was their mistake and she should not have been shockingly rude about it. Perhaps she has something against desis. Never have we ever been so rudely treated at a restaurant. The food was late and cold, and this staff member was so rude that it ruined our whole experience. My husband and I had eaten there before, and it looks like their prices increased. Again, if you have a food allergy/restriction- I'd highly recommend you double check your order. But I would advise just going to a different sushi place that is more considerate and is likely to be the same price range (given their recent price increase).
