Super bad experience, I don't think I'm gonna come to this place anymore. First, they rise the price from 14'99 to 15'99. Second, I asked for a vanilla ice cream for 15 minutes, the waitress just talked to other table, ignored me for 15 minutes. Sushi, I can understand, ice cream, come on! Third, the waitress didn't tell me if you can't eat 100% the food you ordered, they will charge me money. I only leave half of a sushi, a tiny piece, twice. When I received my check, they charged me for third times. It's ridiculous. It's your policy I understand, could you friendly mention a little bit? I have never written a review before on Yelp or anywhere else and created an account just for this review. I apologize at how crazy long this review is but I've never BEEN THREATENED by a restaurant manager before, so I wanted to explain what took place. My boyfriend and I decided to eat lunch there the other day. As soon as you walk in to Sushi Cafe you are bombarded with ads and signs for all of their specials. Their "All You Can Eat" Special is $16. It seemed to be a bit much to spend over $40 for one casual lunch for 2 people, so we asked if we could share the "All You Can Eat", I doubted she would yes, because it makes no sense to be able to share, but to our surprise THE SERVER SAID YES and went on to say that you had to eat everything you order or else you would incur extra charges. So when she says this my date and I look at each other and go: 'Ok, that must be how they get you." We should have ordered a la carte but we decided to get the special anyway. We filled out one card ( Oh yeah, there is a whole complicated system that goes along with it) for both our orders. Because we were warned about eating everything, we ordered a very conservative amount. And the serving portions you get are pretty small. Our server seemed very rushed and her over all demeanor to us was that she simply did not want to be there. After we finished we are brought our bill and see that it is $45 ( tip not included ) and 2 specials are listed. We ask our server why she put 2 specials and says very rudely that it's because we both ate, which was confusing because SHE LITERALLY SAID WE COULD SPLIT IT. We ask her to bring the manager and she leaves the table for like exactly 20 seconds, so there is absolutely no way she actually talked to anyone. She simply walked into the kitchen, waited a few seconds, and then returned to say we had to pay the whole thing. This is honestly the part that had us the most ticked off- because this server had no intention of doing her job and seemed enraged that we were asking her to do it. At this my boyfriend demands to talk to a manager. She returns with the owner/ manager and he very rudely asks what the problem is. HE IS ANGRY WITH US BEFORE WE EVEN SAY ANYTHING TO HIM. We try to explain to him our confusion over the special and he scoffs and says of course it's' only one special per person. I tell him normally that would make sense and I see his point but we were confused because: 1. I've never eaten an "All You Can Eat" at any place but a buffet before. 2. There are no details or instructions written on any of the litany of ads, menus and printouts they have. 3. THE SERVER LITERALLY JUST SAID "YES YOU CAN JUST DON'T ORDER A SHITLOAD OF STUFF." Instead of any sort of apology we got a lot of defensive behavior which ended with the manager saying we had to pay or HE WOULD CALL THE COPS!!! As a result, we had a whopping $4 taken off of our bill ( thanks). We paid $41 for 3 rubbery, small rolls ( which would have been $11 if we ordered a la carte) We also had a very bland miso, watery salad, edamame, and drinks ( Maybe another $15-$17 worth of food) And it was all delivered with a very sharp, snarky attitude. read more

I am so bummed! I was very much looking forward to this place and unfortunately, I do not get the hype. I like the concept of all you can eat sushi so you can try several different items without breaking the bank, but quality still needs to be there. Upon walking in, we were told to sit anywhere. We sat and waited for the server to come over. A few minutes later, another group came in and sat down, and they were served immediately. We were still waiting to be approached with menus when they received their drinks and ordered food. After being in the restaurant for about 20 minutes we ordered. We each had a few questions for our server as some of the rolls didn't have descriptions, but she couldn't tell us what was in them either. She said she didn't know and made a few guesses. Appetizers came out first - edamame, crab Rangoon, and dumplings. All were decent. Sushi came out next and the only thing that tasted good were these negiri salmon pieces. Spicy tuna roll was very fishy and had the crunch flakes. Every roll ordered had tempura crunch flakes in it, whether it was in the description or not. The fish was definitely not fresh and I couldn't eat either of the two rolls with tuna in it. The taste was very off putting and I couldn't eat it. It took a while for our server to come back so we could ask for the check and I had to get up to go find her. We knew that you couldn't leave any pieces behind or else you'd get charged for them but I had asked if there was anything they could do about the two entire rolls (minus 3 total pieces) left behind because they were inedible and, after checking with the manager, they agreed not to charge me extra for those pieces. My friend, on the other hand, was not so lucky. In addition to being charged $0.75 for each piece left behind (which we understood ahead of time), you have to pay an ADDITIONAL $0.75 (so $1.50 in total) per piece to take it home. So if she wanted to take her 5 pieces of sushi leftovers home, it would have cost her $7.50 to do so. That is a joke!! They are getting two stars because it is a good value and they were willing to work with me on the rolls that I couldn't eat due to freshness. read more

Really great sushi place. Everything is super fresh. Really awesome that you can do the "all you can eat", and everything is made to order instead of sitting around. You can tell the tempura items we ordered were just fried. The sushi was really great quality as well. Usually in sushi buffet type places, the rice had a strange consistency and isn't executed well, but this place has great sushi rice execution. I ordered a bunch of nigiri and the cuts of fish were really tasty and generously portioned. Staff were really friendly and attentive. My first time going to Sushi Cafe for lunch was lovely. I went for the All You Can Eat Sushi lunch special and it was only $13.99! The special includes appetizers too like Miso Soup and Edamame. The Krab Rangoon was hands down the best I've had anywhere. The sushi was made fresh and we had several options to choose from. Each roll comes with 4-5 pieces. Only down side is there is a charge for unfinished rolls and appetizers, so I made sure I finished everything and left absolutely stuffed! Wasn't a fan of the Yummy roll or Salmon skin roll. Be careful and order what you KNOW you like or you'll have to eat it anyway! The Eel and Cucumber roll was my favorite!! Service was great, was not busy at all during lunch so we had a quiet experience. Would definitely visit again!! read more

Went for the all you can eat sushi and chicken habachi. Sushi was plentiful and came quickly with each submittal of our paper menu, was good enough to eat a lot! The all you can eat also included some appetizers such as gyoza and crab ragoon. A very good deal for about 15 bucks! Habachi was good, well cooked chicken, extremely fresh veggies and a great sized portion! FECAL MATTER. That's how I felt after I left this trashcan of an establishment. "God dammit not another white piece of crap to wait on." That's the vibe I got from the 15 year old, HORRIBLE waitress who reluctantly was forced to serve...god forbid...customers. No pleases. No thanks. VERY slow service, you know that feeling when your server is actively trying to avoid making eye contact with you so she can justify ignoring you? She must have taught that class. SHE WAS VISIBLY ANNOYED that I asked for a beer and at first claimed they didn't serve alcohol at all. WTH?! Didn't get the beer until AFTER the salad came. Casually tossed the stuff on our table without even a smile or a glance. She hates doing her job and it was a horrible experience to be "served" by her. When my girlfriend and I arrived, being first time "all you can eat" customers, we needed to make a decision on what to order. Here were the choices: 2 rolls for 7 dollars. 3 rolls for 10 dollars. All you can eat for 16 dollars. We were not very hungry and realized we would only want to eat maybe 3 rolls between us both and a few soups. So it would have made sense for us to pay maybe 10 dollars for the 3 rolls and a few bucks extra for the soups. I asked this question exactly to the waitress, "Can we split the all you can eat between the both of us?" The waitress said yes we can. So we both ordered off the same fill it out yourself menu. We ordered 2 rolls, 1 salmon sashimi, 2 soups, plus 2 beers. When we got the bill it was 45 dollars. We were absolutely SHOCKED that she charged both of us full price (16 dollars EACH) for all you can eat. Even though we ordered THREE TOTAL ROLLS. My girlfriend didn't even fill out a menu! I told her this isn't what we ordered and to remove the second all you can eat from the bill. The waitress was extremely annoyed at this. I explained that she literally SAID WE COULD SHARE A SINGLE ORDER. But she claimed that she thought I asked if we could share the menu. Why anyone would ask if they could share a menu is beyond me, but whatever. She comes back with the angry as all hell, can't speak English well at all manager. He is scowling at me before I even say a word and exclaiming they wouldn't make any money if everyone could share the all you can eat. While that does make sense, WHY THE HELL AM I AM GOING TO PAY 32 DOLLARS FOR 3 SUSHI ROLLS?!?! I explained that I asked if we could share. The waitress AGREED THAT IS WHAT I SAID. But this was his reply, " I give you 10 percent off and you pay or I call 911 on you." Just wow. I've worked at restaurants for YEARS and NEVER have I EVER heard of a manger blaming the customer for the mistake of a waitress and then threatening to call the police on them. Beyond all that the sushi was absolute crap. The crab meat was super rubbery. The salad was full of water at the bottom, the lettuce was almost white, the dressing was watery. The rice was old and slimy. The beers came 10 minutes after we ordered them. The salmon sashimi was extremely pale pink. AWFUL. This place is pretty lame to be honest. Slow service, sub par sushi, and a wack ass unfinished food policy. My boyfriend and I came in one night expecting to fill up on sushi. Based on the reviews, I was pretty excited. We seated ourselves and I observed the surroundings. First thing I noticed was the unfinished sushi fee ($.75 per piece left in the restaurant, $.99 per piece to take home)... We're already paying about $35 for the both of us.. why should it matter how much we don't finish? This place is probably making bank anyway. It certainly didn't show in the food though. First I ordered miso soup and a house salad, which are pretty hard to mess up so I won't even comment on those. I ordered my go-to rolls which were the Mexican and spicy salmon. 4 pieces each, which doesn't really make it a roll. But whatever. I could taste that they were freshly made (the sushi chefs were visible), but I was so turned off by the fact that they used jarred jalapeño peppers in my Mexican roll. I wonder what other shortcuts they took because that is awfully lazy. Plus, it didn't even look presentable. Next, I thought I'd try some type of roll with fried salmon... now there's a reason you've never heard of fried salmon before and it's because it's disgusting. The roll was disgusting. I force ate my spicy tuna roll (the tuna was RED btw), but I had to wrap my fried salmon creation in a napkin and throw it in my purse so I wouldn't get charged. I know, it's petty but it was pure garbage. For some reason I also ordered chicken nuggets thinking they'd be tempura battered, and I was wrong. They were frozen. Service was super slow and I guess the servers couldn't handle a half empty restaurant. By that time I was ready to go. I wish I would've stayed home instead of spending almost $40 at this place. Management treats their customers like animals when you expressed your concerns, literally screamed at me and embarrassed me when it is not my fault your staff isn't trained properly but I mean if the manager acts like this you shouldn't expect more from the people he hires? The quality of the food wasn't the best. For the amount of money they charge their customers they should invest it and train their staff how to properly interact with customers. I will not be back. After being told about the "All you can eat sushi" for $14.99, we were a little skeptical that this was going to be a positive dining adventure. Well I have to admit, I actually enjoyed what I was served. We walked in and chose to eat at the sushi bar. Our server was quick to greet us and was very good at explaining the details about the "All You Can Eat" menu. Iced Tea with lime for me and Saki for the wife. She was not hungry enough to go for the all you can eat and ordered the Thai Ji Roll but I chose to give it a whirl. I started off with a bowl of Miso and it was OK but did not wow me. My wife's order and my first round arrived. I had to admit that it looked much better than I was expecting but it better taste fresh and it did. The pieces were a bit smaller than other places BUT I am OK with that because my wife is always complaining it is too big for a mouthful. After several plates, I was full and called it quits... My ONLY complaints are that the ALL YOU CAN EAT menu could be a little more diverse and they slip a few items on the menu that are an extra charge so LOOK OVER THE MENU CAREFULLY! SUSHI: Presentation - 4 Taste - 4 Miso Soup - 3 Service - 4 Atmosphere - 4 If you are not a sushi snob, you will probably enjoy the All you can eat option for $14.99 and leave satisfied. I suspect I will be back again because if I had been at one of my usual spots, my bill would have been about $75 more than it was considering all that I ate. There are so many places that do sushi wrong that finding one that does it right is a wonderful thing. When I first heard about an all you can eat sushi cafe at the price this place charges, I was skeptical. I pictured a shady establishment with questionable staff and even more questionable food. Last thing I wanted was a case of seafood related food poisoning. Boy am I glad I let my son talk me into going here. Wow!! Sushi is super fresh, tasteful, delicious. Oh did I mention fresh? The entire time in the place I never once got a wiff of any seafood being prepared in the area. The waitress was sweet and very pleasant. The place is clean, cozy and welcoming. Although I am not going to write about all the different items i've had here, everything has been delicious. The steamed dumplings are divine. The crab tempura is amazing. Where do I begin? I was very excited to eat here with my family and after reading all the reviews I thought I would give it a try I want to be candid that I didn't go for the sushi, but my family did. Being allergic to shellfish I ordered the chicken hibachi Oh KAY the young horrific server who was anything but helpful. She delivered my chicken hibachi with SHRIMP in it - I immediately said I am highly allergic to shellfish. She took it to the kitchen and returned with the same plate and said "it's only shrimp"!!!! Um hello that's shellfish. Then after 10 minutes advised me they were making me a new dish 40 minutes later after I asked where is my food - and my family was done with their second round of sushi. She said it was almost done??? I told her forget it .... in which she replied "please"???? Best part she brings the bill and said I charged you for your salad and rice is that ok? I replied not really, but does it matter and YES she was arrogant enough to say not really !!!!! I asked for a manager - to be told there isn't one there. I was forced to pay my bill and was given a number to their manager and was advised to call back Thursday or Friday???? Seriously? No manager??? Unbelievably the worst experience ever. We go here for the All You Can Eat Sushi. It's a good deal, even with the recent price increases and the fact that you can't get every roll on the menu. The AYCE menu is limited. They do have specialty rolls that you can get for $1.25 extra, and whenever I go here with my husband or friends, we each usually order one of the extra rolls since they are so tasty. The sushi here is solid. I always enjoy it, and it's always fresh. I know many of reviewers mentioned that everyone at the table has to get all you can eat. There are signs posted all over about this, and the server always asks if you've been here before, so she can tell you that everyone has to get the all you can eat. It makes sense to me, and it's such a good deal, including other items such as Goyza, Miso, fried rice, ice cream, etc. that you're better off coming here specifically for the All You Can Eat. The only negative about this place is the service, which is sometimes very slow. They seem to always only have one person working, and she is very nice, but when it's busy, she doesn't always have time to come back to your table. But she will be back eventually, and she'll always offer to give you the AYCE menus back so you can order some more delicious sushi! If you go when they are not busy (before the dinner crowd), the service is great. They also have their walls covered with art drawn on the placemats, which adds a lot of charm to this place. This was an excellent sushi spot. The rolls were made to order, and the variety available on the menu was excellent. There were simple tuna rolls, fried rolls--- the whole deal. The appetizers were just as fantastic. The crab Rangoon were very sweet compared to the typical places I visit, but not overly so. Very tasty and full of filling, and piping hot. The Gyoza were excellent too. We tried fried and steamed, and I was surprised that I preferred the steamed moreso than the fried. The fried tofu was interesting. I found it tasty, but I'm not sure that most people would. The soft tofu was creamy, plain, and covered in a thin layer of crispy Pablo with a mild ponzu-like dipping sauce. We went mid-day, and there were only a few other customers in the place. We will definitely visit again soon! read more

This is my new favorite sushi place. Our waitress Bianca was an absolutely sweetheart and extremely helpful. It was our first time eating here so we had a lot of questions about the menu. They have a dinner special that includes 3 sushi rolls, and a soup or salad for $10.95... That's unheard of!! Our waitress knew every sushi roll on the menu and was patient with explaining all the specials to us. I complimented her and told her she was an incredible waitress and seemed like she's been doing this a long time. She then informed me that it was actually her first time serving!!! I was so shocked and pleased. The restaurant must train their servers very well. My boyfriend and I were more than pleased, to say the least. The sushi rolls were large, the presentation was beautiful, the prices were great and the service amazing. Can't wait to go back. read more

Let us get one thing straight-this is not exotic sushi but rather simple nigiri and rolls. But for $16.99 it represents a tremendous value. The AYCE offers numerous appetizers (we personally favor the edamame, sea weed salad and fried scallops), a wide variety of fresh fish (rolls and nigiri) and a nice selection of desserts (try the vanilla ice cream). Service is generally good although can be a bit slow on busy nights. One can nit-pick-occasionally out of yellowtail, nigiri is too much rice and too little fish, if one member of a group orders AYCE everyone else must do the same or make their selections from a very limited menu. We have eaten there regularly for months and have never had a bad experience. If you're used to Nobo this is not the place for you, but for everybody else you could do far worse. read more
