The service every time has left much to be desired. It has taken up to 10-15 minutes to even be acknowledged, let alone get a drink order. The service is slow and inattentive, I have yet to like the service here. We have seen our orders at the counter just sit there for a long period of time and had the urge just to walk up and pick it up ourselves. I felt like we had to beg just to get any service. I could go on forever honestly. That being said, the food is great and unique, I have liked everything I have ordered from the menu. Great dishes, fair prices, and beautiful presentation, I just wish I could enjoy it as a dine in customer. I order the food via delivery and pick up now, which is sad to say because the food is a definite must try. First time trying this restaurant. Waitress came by got our drinks and returned with them quickly. That's the best I can say for this place. We asked for several different rolls and were told they were out of that. After finally landing on 3 signature rolls we were told they were out of salad which comes with the meal. Well one of the rolls we chose was the OMG. We sat next to the area which everything was made. The waitress tried to light it on fire but asked for more alcohol. Finally got it going and told us 3-5 minutes to let it burn out. We waited about 10 for it to burn out tried it and it was cold. Asked our waitress if it was supposed to be hot or cold and she did not know. She went and asked another waitress and said that it should be hot. Took it back to the chef and he spoke in Japanese in an angry voice and she turned around and told us there's nothing they can do about it. Said they would take it off the bill. I do not like sushi. I repeat, I do not like sushi. However, I can no longer say that... I have to say "I did not like sushi, until Sushi Don". This is the ONLY joint that I can actually eat sushi. I have tried other places and haven't found any I can stomach except for Sushi Don. To the point where I crave going to eat there. The Super Bowl is amazing and the Lion King is one of my go-to rolls. We take our kids regularly to eat here and they are developing a taste for sushi as well. Occasionally, there is a long wait for a table, but that comes with being a smaller venue so it's understandable. My only complaint I have is the irregularity of being able to supply alcohol. It's a bit of a toss up every time we go whether or not I will be able to get my glass of wine with dinner, because the liquor license expired or some such reason. read more

What a BAD experiences!!! We just went to sushi don for dinner on Thursday. When we get the check, I found out that there's 18% gratuity already add on our check. We have only TWO people. When we give card to the server at cashier, we asked why there's 18% gratuity added on our check, since when they start the auto 18% gratuity? The server answers: since they open sushi don, they add 18% gratuity for every table. (Which is lie!! I've been to sushi don many times, there's never auto 18% gratuity on our check!!) so we asked Is that for every table no matter how many guests there? The server changes his answer: oh for table over 5 ppl, we add 18% gratuity on check. Then why we have only two people but we have 18% gratuity added on the check? The server answers: so you don't want this 18% gratuity on your check? a lot of Chinese restaurant do this as well. ARE YOU ADDING 18% GRATUITY ON OUR CHECK BECAUSE WE ARE CHINESE? You never do this to any non-Asian customer, but us?? I feel so upset and uncomfortable with Sushi don's action and response. (I always give tips, normally around 15%, but no one can force me to tip!!!!) I hope there's NO RACIST anymore in the world. Everyone should be treated the same!!! read more

My first time and unfortunately my last. The wait for a table didn't take too long, drinks came out at a very reasonable time, order was taken, and my food came out seemingly quick. My wife's food, on the other hand, was not with my food. I just assumed it would take a few more minutes. Half way through eating my food there was no sign of my wife's order nor was there a notice of what was going on. My wife did say, after the fact, she overheard the waitress ask the cook for her sushi, but the waitress didn't inform us. The waitress finally brought her food out after I had finished my food. I asked what the issue was and her reply was that the sushi bar was backed up with online orders. After fishing for more answers, I found out that they have a separate kitchen that cooks non-sushi items. So, no communication between kitchens, no communication between server and customer. Oh yeah! When my food got to the table it was cold. I was going to wait for my wife to get her food but my food was already cold. Never again! I'll give it one star because the ambiance was nice. read more

Excellent Asian food and fresh sushi too. We are a family of 5 (kids aged 13, 12, 9) and we all found something we liked. The boys had Galbi, Bulgogi, and Dolsot Bibimbap. They ate everything and gave their dishes 2 thumbs up. Of the 3 dishes I personally liked Bulgogi the best. We also had sushi and it was all yummy. Hubby got the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) and he had to fight the boys off from eating his KFC. So the first time I came here with my friends it was amazing. We had to wait a while to get seated but it was definitely worth it. When my sister came to town, I insisted that she come here to eat. We spent 45 minutes waiting, that was okay; it was crowded. But after we ordered our rolls, we waited nearly an entire hour and watched 5 tables get seated and get their food before us with our waitress nowhere in sight. After complaining about this when she did appear, it took another 10 minutes to get our order and only 4/5 rolls arrived. All we got were meaningless apologies taking no blame, a complimentary appetizer and half our bill comped. We were incredibly disappointed by our waitress. read more

This was my first time at Sushi Don and I was very pleased. Me and my husband went on "happy hour" night, which means half price sushi! Everything tasted great (I recommend the Bond Girl roll) and the staff was busy and friendly. There was one server in particular who I noticed was doing an amazing job with his guests - I couldn't quite read his name tag, but I think his name was Jun. My wife and I had the unlimited korean-style bbq here and we loved it. Beef and pork bellies were xtra thin and cooked quickly on the table top grill. Kind of similar to Cho Sun Ok in Chicago. The special dipping sauce served with the meat was superb, slightly spicy and sweet. The egg casserole and bean stew were authentic and tastes exactly how one would get from Korea. We also got the sashimi salad as an appetizer. The portion was pretty large and had some sweet and spicy sauce drizzled on top. Tasted sooo good. read more

Great food but terrible service. I'm a regular at sushi don and come virtually every week. I follow a very healthy diet and I use sushi don as my weekly guilty pleasure, or cheat meal because I love the sushi so much. I would say that 8/10 times I come in to eat, the servers screw up or forget something in my order, for example forgetting my octopus seaweed salad or a roll in my order. Despite this I still return every week like clockwork because I simply can't live without it as my cheat meal, and also because I work as a waiter, as a result I understand how confusing and chaotic it can be as a server at times, and there's nothing maleficent or noteworthy about an honest mistake. However, my most recent experience really boiled my blood as a fellow worker in the food service industry. I came in on a Tuesday lunch as a member of a party of 4 and we all ordered 2 specialty rolls. We were served our water and the accompanying miso soup and house salad. I truly adore the house salad because of its unique and tasty ginger dressing, and I always ask for a refill and am never charged. Being a creature of habit, I, like usual asked for a refill of my house salad when our sushi rolls arrived and our waiter replied, "All right one moment". After about a solid 10-15 minutes and one sushi roll eaten later, it still hadn't arrived, so naturally I assumed he forgot, and so I asked him again the next time he was passing by if I could have a refill of house salad. He acted like I had never asked before, as if to hide the fact that he completely forgot, and didn't apologize or offer any sign of guilt. When I received my check, it totaled to the lower end of 19 Dollars, 19.26 to be exact. It turns out our waiter charged me 2 Dollars for the tiny bowl of house salad, and I asked him about it. He said its always 2 dollars extra after the first one, which was extremely unusual to me becuase the past half dozen times I ate at sushi don it was free and the first time in the past during a different lunch I specifically asked my waiter if it was an extra charge before asking for a refill, and he replied that there was no charge for it. Being a waiter, I can't help but feel inclined to leave a large tip whenever I eat out, and always leave over a 20 percent tip at least. Even though I was bothered by the waiters attitude to my salad and the fact that he charged me for it without even asking if I knew, i still intended to leave a hefty tip, and left 25 dollars in my bill with the intention to give him the 5.74 dollar tip, which totaled out be a 29.8 percent tip. Our waiter returned with 3 checks for my friends, but not one for me. I was confused why I was the only one who didn't get my check back, so I asked him at the front desk where my check was, and he said he assumed because I left a 20 and a 5 dollar bill that I didn't want my change. That REALLY TICKED ME OFF. What server could possible have the EGO to think they EARNED A 30 PERCENT TIP after forgetting something a customer ordered and pretending they didn't screw up at all. That day I left Sushi don with a foul taste in my mouth despite the delicious food. This being said I simply admire the store so much that i'm still going to give it 4 stars because if you want to go somewhere for consistently tasty food plus a wide range of menu items which have enough authenticity to satisfy both conservative orientals and comfort seeking individuals of other ethnicities, Sushi Don is the place to go. Also in every other visit the wait staff while careless many times has always been warm and caring. read more

we ordered take out for udon with pork belly, orange dragon roll and bento box. we are promised for the food to be available in 20 minutes. when we were there in 30 minutes, the food is not even stated yet. they did not even know our order exist. but they apologized us well and told us 15 more minutes to wait. so we waited 20 more minutes and ask for our order status. then, we were asked to wait another 10 more minutes. finally, it came out after 20 minutes later. Food is okay. But, the service should be better. to me, the wait is not worth. I personally prefer kitchen stuffs. I do not feel the freshness in their sushi. The taste is not as good as others. read more
