The best meal I've had in my life! Had the sushi express roll for an appetizer. Since my friend doesn't eat a lot of sushi, this was a safe bet for him (sorry didn't get a pic). Then the real deal best Korean food came out. I had Stone Pot Biminbap with an Iced Green tea and he had the Pork Bulgogi with unsweet tea. Just moved into town, and this is literally the closest place to eat, score! It was awesome! The service is on point, the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious! My order was a phone/take out order. When picking it up I was not greeted by anyone in the restaurant and had to try and figure out where my order could be picked up. A waiter waved me over to the counter and a dismissive staff member got my order, rung me up and sent me on my way. Upon leaving, my impression is that the staff needs some customer service training. The quality of the fish in the chirashi bowls were okay, but the bowls' presentations were messy and poorly put together. The teriyaki salmon plate was described as having teriyaki salmon, rice, and several Korean side dishes. While the salmon was cooked well, I did not find it to be teriyaki salmon, being that the actual teriyaki sauce came on the side rather than marinated into the salmon prior to its cooking. The only side dishes were two pieces of broccoli and a couple of steamed carrots, hardly what I would call "several Korean side dishes". Overall my experience was less than average, yielding my two star rating. read more

The food here is fantastic. My only objection is the price during dinner hours. I'll admit that Korean dishes are generally a little pricier than Chinese food, but paying nearly $20 for common Korean fare is a bit over the top. The lunch specials are what makes this place worth while. My wife and I order 2 lunch specials and a sushi combo expecting the lunch to be small, but to my surprise they were huge! Our waiter jack was very very attentive and offered so many suggestions on the food as my friend and I had never been there before today. Some of the best sushi we've ever had! We called it in to take out, and loved everything we ordered. My favorite is the Sushi Express roll, Hardy Oak Roll, and Green Lantern roll. Their shrimp fried rice was so good, too. The chefs really know what they're doing. This is by far the best sushi restaurant in San Antonio. Jasmine roll is incredible, Champion roll is great. The standard usual suspects are also crafted with more skill, attention to detail than most restaurants. I've eaten at them all, this is the one. The reviews said otherwise--so we tried it out. My boyfriend and I really agreed with the place and he kept telling me "good job" on choosing this place. We ordered beef bulgogi and asked for a side of lettuce so we could make lettuce wraps (ask for a side of soy paste)! The rice was nice and fluffy !!! Was so good with everything. Recommended by a Co-Worker and all I can say is WOW! My wife loves sushi and I'm not a huge fan so with the Korean and Japanese dishes, this place works well for us. This is our third time ordering delivery. Let me warn you don't order anything except sushi for delivery. I decided to try the chicken katsu today as well as other rolls. It took an hour after ordering for the food to come in and my chicken katsu was room temperature, soggy, and not at all crispy like it should be. I paid $16 for that chicken katsu and it was flavorless and dry. We also ordered extra side sauces that we were charged for but was not included in our delivery. Our first couple deliveries with sushi express went well but this one was very disappointing. On the bright side the sushi rolls are usually pretty good and you really can't mess that up. I was really excited to try this place after reading the reviews on Yelp. I did enjoy it - it was nice, clean, really a pleasant spot. After visiting Los Angeles several times, I've really developed a taste for bulgogi, but I've had trouble finding it anywhere. I couldn't wait to try it. Honestly, it was a little too sweet for my taste, and really not spicy at all. I did notice you could request a spicy version, though. I'll definitely be trying it when I go back.
