Went to this place with my wife couple days ago. It was fairly deserted when we got in there, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Service was super polite and quick. No complaints on that front. Prices were OK and fair. The quality of the Sushi was average at best. We were a little misled by the special that we got, which said you would get a variety of sushi along with a roll. We assumed that meant two pieces of sushi per fish, but in actuality it was only one Sushi per fish. The soy sauce, although labeled as low sodium, did not taste like Kiko man and definitely did not taste low sodium. The ginger tasted and smelled like a sponge and the wasabi was clearly old and not as good as normal. Would we ever go back to this place? Considering how many times we go to Sushi and that we are self-professed Sushi snobs, probably not. Little surprised by all the four-star rankings given to this place, considering our experience, but maybe others had a different one. read more

My friends & I ate here yesterday for a late lunch: I ordered Sushi Combo C: Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, Shrimp, Halibut, Surf Clam, Albacore & 5 pieces Spicy Tuna Roll. The Tuna was excellent, everything else was mediocre; one of the pieces of white fish was all cut up/slashed as if the chef couldn't get it away from the skin and it got torn, the Salmon was GMO/Farmed (you can tell by the even marbling of the flesh), the Surf Clam was dry & rubbery, and the Spicy Tuna Roll wasn't spicy. The go-with salad, was mostly the center core of iceberg w/ a watery 1,000 Island Dressing. The rolls on the menu were all very similar and mostly spicy; and the Baked Lobster Roll stated it was made with crab & nowhere did the ingredients state Lobster. The photos were poor quality & looked very unappetizing. The waitress was less than friendly, minimal politeness... My check, with a beer, was $40+ and for that price, I can definitely say that there are other better Sushi restaurants to eat at. read more

With only recently moving to the state, I have been looking for a good go-to Sushi restaurant, and I found it here! Their rolls are made to order and are SO amazing. They're packed with flavor and their ingredients are fresh. We also ordered the Chicken Udon, which has got to be one of the best orders I've had in a long time. It was packed with flavor, and the noodles and chicken were perfectly cooked. Service was very fast and the workers were very friendly. Terrible place, old sushi, undercooked rice. They brought out a roll that the tuna was dyed. When I brought it to the attention of the owner she started speaking to the sushi chef in another language that i didn't understand. They were clearly talking negatively about me, it doesn't take a rocket scientist. Horrible place the waitress and Sushi chef was so unprofessional and the sushi was way overpriced and horrible. They treat people with disabilities horribly. I spent about 500 dollars there. When leaving we were waiting for our Uber which was delayed we asked them for a chair because I'm disabled they said the can't spare a chair they are being used no one was in the restaurant at the time. So so SO good! Whatever dressing they use on their salad is literally plate licking good. The staff were all so kind and attentive and they had lots of TVs around the restaurant. I'm a non sea food eater, so this review will only be for my chicken teriyaki a la cart combo - but my bf got the dragon roll and some other fish that he devoured (so must have also been good). We had gyozas, which I would have eaten like 3 orders of (lol but really). Then I had a miso soup that came with my meal - also good and very hot! I shared with my bf and he drank it to empty. The chicken teriyaki was so big and tasty. I couldn't finish it all and had an entire extra meal for leftovers. Went here on a weekend, no wait to get seated and I was happy that this establishment has TV's featuring the Dodger game. Sushi and Dodgers games make me happy :) Price point was perfect for quality, good-sized, well-crafted, tasty sushi rolls. I loved everything I sampled/shared: the Dynamite roll $12.95, Garlic seared tuna $13.95 and the third sushi roll with eel on top and shrimp tempura inside (and my bad, I forgot the name of this roll, lol). Sushi holic is top notch. I'm disappointed I didn't try it sooner. A coworker was eating sushi at lunch today. When I asked where he got it, he told me Sushi Holic was his favorite. I had to give it a try. Medium sized dining room with about 6 4-top and 6 2-top tables. Dark wood tables and chairs. NO sushi bar seating. Paper napkins and disposable wooden chopsticks in paper wrappers. Very clean. Very quiet. Good selection of rolls. Menu is well organized and easy to read. Good selection of Japanese beer. I was the only customer on a Thursday evening so service was very prompt and courteous. Sushi was delicious. Good quality. Thanks to the combo menu, it ended up costing about $20 less than I would have spent at the other sushi place where I've been going. My only complaint is I couldn't find them on any of the fold delivery apps, but I enjoyed eating a quiet dinner here alone. read more

Went here by chance, not impressed with the food. The staff were all so kind & friendly. But the food was just really bland. It lacked flavor, just very mediocre. I also noticed the water tasted off. If they want to charge $200+ for dinner for two they need to upgrade their space, paint the walls, open the sushi bar, etc. Service was just okay. We sat down and were on page 2 of the menu and the waitress asked if we were ready to order. We hadn't even had the menu for 3 minutes so that was weird. Service was definitely lacking, in which we weren't give menus (had to grab our own) and we weren't given plates or soy sauce plates. Their menu is super extensive and in my opinion it would do them service to narrow down their amount of sushi roll options. They offer so many similar rolls that it took us quite awhile to figure out what to order. In the end, we ordered 3 rolls between the 2 of us which was sufficient: Ninja & Samurai, Baked Lobster, and Salmon Forever. They were all decent. Free parking in the lot outside. This place was very disappointing, my bf got chicken Katsu and it came out in a weird sauce that was not in the description. When he asked to have it remade without sauce you could tell she didn't want to and even said next time ask for it with no sauce! (Rude) When they brought out the plate again there was no sauce but the chicken was more on the burnt side. The sushi was okay but definitely not worth the price! Get the OMG Roll! Everything is good. Lots of subtle flavors to make you appreciate each bite. Start with the Sunkist Salmon and make sure you have a bit of pickle, orange and salmon in each bite. SAVE THAT PLATE AS YOU WILL WANT TO DIP ALL OF YOUR OTJER FISH IN THE LEFTOVER SAUCE. (Especially the live scallop) Then... Get the OMG Roll! It's a little spicy but well worth every morsel. Great local spot for delightful sushi. We order our favorites, a rainbow roll, unagi, shrimp tempura, and yellowtail sushi. The yellowtail dish is always a pleaser, chillin in ponzu sauce and dotted with sarachi, and this one was steller with much thicker slices of sushi. Everyone we ate was fresh and the staff was exceptionally awesome, given the COVID-19 guidelines. This is a nice sushi joint if you're ever in Oxnard/Channel Islands. read more

OK, it's a clean location with easy parking. I ordered a 'combo' Sushi, CA roll, salad, miso soup. The salad came out right away, which consisted of iceberg lettuce... not a green piece in sight, just the pale and white bits I wouldn't serve at home. To call that a salad is quite a stretch. The dressing was OK. Then the miso soup came out before I had a chance to have more than one bite of the 'salad.' The miso soup was the highlight, very good. Then just as soon as the soup arrived out comes the sushi and roll. OK, so now I have all this 'stuff' in front of me. The except for the salmon sushi was too was good. The salmon very likely farm raised with no taste. The rice was nice also. The CA roll was.... ah, no thanks. The wasabi (which I know is rarely "real" except in very high end sushi bars) was awful. And the menus good use a good cleaning. I know things are tough now... shortages, staffing issues, the pandemic is taking its toll on us all. Based on other more positive reviews I think it best to order very selectively. I'll give them another try in future... the distant future. read more

Came in on a Tuesday night and had great service and Sushi. My buddy, who really isn't a sushi guy like me and I had Albacore Delight, Albacore Lover roll, Hawaiian roll and the Jalisco roll. Every one of them was fresh and really good! Stuffed Jalapeño was great too. He is now hooked! Our server was the owner and he was on top of it the entire time.
