Service was good we came in on a rainy day so there wasn't anyone in the restaurant. The place looked nice and spacious. They took our order right away and we got served quick. Forgot the name of the rolls but both were great. My boyfriend order one of the soup but it didn't have much of a flavor .

Don't forget about this hidden gem!! Sushi and sashimi are always fresh and the cooked food is delicious as well. Good portions, good prices, owned by good people.

Food is so good here! Our granddaughters love the seaweed salad, salmon rolls, avocado rolls, and miso soup. Grandpa and I love the bulgogi rice bowl. Service is also great!

So so SO good! Whatever dressing they use on their salad is literally plate licking good. The staff were all so kind and attentive and they had lots of TVs around the restaurant. I'm a non sea food eater, so this review will only be for my chicken teriyaki a la cart combo - but my bf got the dragon roll and some other fish that he devoured (so must have also been good). We had gyozas, which I would have eaten like 3 orders of (lol but really). Then I had a miso soup that came with my meal - also good and very hot! I shared with my bf and he drank it to empty. The chicken teriyaki was so big and tasty. I couldn't finish it all and had an entire extra meal for leftovers. We were in the area visiting Port Hueneme.. but I wish this place was closer to up because we would be going nonstop!

If you're in Ventura County and looking for a local sushi spot, Sushi Holic is a winner. Went here on a weekend, no wait to get seated and I was happy that this establishment has TV's featuring the Dodger game. Sushi and Dodgers games make me happy :) Price point was perfect for quality, good-sized, well-crafted, tasty sushi rolls. I loved everything I sampled/shared: the Dynamite roll $12.95, Garlic seared tuna $13.95 and the third sushi roll with eel on top and shrimp tempura inside (and my bad, I forgot the name of this roll, lol). See my pics. Service is a bit slow (so I took a star off), but food is worth the wait. Took awhile just to get greeted at our table and water/drinks, chopsticks initially. Food is still great and I'd be back to try other rolls here. Socially distanced tables, large free parking lot in a strip-mall. Stay safe and healthy (mind, body and soul) Yelping out there :)

Combo #2 for $25.99 is a pretty good deal.

Sushi holic is top notch. I'm disappointed I didn't try it sooner. A coworker was eating sushi at lunch today. When I asked where he got it, he told me Sushi Holic was his favorite. I had to give it a try. Medium sized dining room with about 6 4-top and 6 2-top tables. Dark wood tables and chairs. NO sushi bar seating. Paper napkins and disposable wooden chopsticks in paper wrappers. Very clean. Very quiet. Good selection of rolls. Menu is well organized and easy to read. Good selection of Japanese beer. I was the only customer on a Thursday evening so service was very prompt and courteous. Sushi was delicious. Good quality. Thanks to the combo menu, it ended up costing about $20 less than I would have spent at the other sushi place where I've been going. My only complaint is I couldn't find them on any of the fold delivery apps, but I enjoyed eating a quiet dinner here alone.

Great service and delicious rolls! Staff was excellent tonight, thank you so much! Got the albacore lovers rolls, swapped seared with fresh albacore instead, yellow tail delight, yellow tail carpaccio, salmon avocado roll, Hawaiian and Fuji roll NOT deep fried! All super yummy, only issue is, there's not enough sauce (but if you know me, I'm that "extra kind of B" with everything lol) it's never enough for me, again that's just me! Glad we made it here for dinner, we'll definitely be back soon!

Everything we tried was good and fresh. The place is not fancy at all. The service was excellent despite the fact that it was pretty busy and one server (Ariana?) handled everything including a stream of Door Hub/Grub dash orders. She was hopping! She warned us that the food could take awhile but it wasn't too long until we were eating. You can't beat cold beer and steaming noodles on a blustery New Year's Eve. We will be back.

I ordered the chashu ramen which did have a generous serving of 5 pieces of pork. But omg they were so TOUGH. It felt like I was chewing forever. I think leaving the pork in the broth longer made them less tough but wow, that was a jaw workout. I was surprised that the ramen didn't come with the usual beansprouts and bamboo shoots but each place is different. I was a little annoyed to pay $2 to add them on additionally but I understand that some people may not like those things in ramen so it is an overall good idea to charge separately. Okay service. My friend and I didn't order any drinks, just had water. But it was a hassle to get a refill. I had asked twice and made multiple attempts to move my empty cup to a more strategic location to signal for water. But eventually my friend just got up and asked for me. I'm all for a fun workplace environment as long as it isnt distracting from actual work responsibilities.

We let the group pass us and entered the restaurant. We were promptly seated at a corner table and given menus. It did take a bit for the server to come back to take our order, but we did realize we came in 1/2 hour before closing, so we eased off a bit. My partner order the hot pot and was very happy with his choice. The server came back with a hot plate and instructed us how to cook the meat. I was a bit apprehensive about having to cook my own food, but the fragrant smell as it cooked changed my mind. The broth was flavorful and the veg and meat were tender as they soaked up the soupy goodness. I also ordered the boa buns and the pillowy texture, mixed with the soft pork and crunchy cucumber and carrots made my belly sing. We slurped up our food and cleared out as quickly as we could. I hate being that person that lingers at closing time. What I do regret is that I did not take more time at their counter as we exited because it was full of snacks and curios that I love. Next time for sure!

After a long day on the beach at Oxnard our family stopped by on a Sunday evening for a quick dinner before driving home. The restaurant is seemingly the only survivor left in a strip mall food court, leaving, after sunset, an almost eerie feel with the restaurant taking up one corner of an otherwise empty courtyard. We ordered and our food came quite quickly. We got the Tonkotsu Ramen ($13), which was quite poor; while the proportions were generous the broth was off and the ingredients melded together a bit too much, like a stew kept on for too long. The dinner bento box with teriyaki salmon ($17) was decent though, with great tempura vegetables, excellent fried gyoza, and good, if generic, salmon and spicy tuna maki side. We also got the B.S. II roll (whatever that stands for; $14), a California roll topped with cooked scallops and shrimp and spicy mayo. We've had many variants of this before (my spouse being a cooked sushi fan) and this was fairly mid, as the foodies say these days. A special note should be said for the service; our waitress, while quite busy by the end of the evening, attended to our needs, added on drinks later, and even put on the game at my request. Value, listed above, I found to be quite favorable. The food quality was limited, yet this still made for great budget pick. My expectations weren't high for this Fisherman, but he met them. The steady stream of pickup drivers and other families who came to that empty mall are telling, however. This is a stalwart, stubborn shop in a dying mall - an adequate, budget-friendly sushi place for the people. I can appreciate that. Food: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 4.5/5 Value: 5/5

The wooden counter, cute decor and menu make you feel as if you've been transported straight to Japan. Fishermans sushi is a hidden gem known to those who grew up here and to those who stumbled upon it by chance (like me). The last man standing in a ghost town of what I imagine was a once bustling food court. It's a real testament that they've been able to stay open all these years. This restaurant has character that's for sure. Inside are eager chefs and friendly service, even after all these years. The prices are still insanely reasonable too. My friend and I split a sashimi boat for $45. That was six varieties of fresh fish, each with five large slices of sashimi. HOW?! In this economy?! Grateful that they can serve up fresh sushi at such reasonable prices. Their classic rolls and fried appetizers are also fantastic. My friend and I would both highly recommend their shrimp tempura. Fried up fresh, the batter was crispy and delicate. For rolls, go with the Fisherman's house roll as it was garlicky with a good sauce and fresh. We had a really good time here and definitely feel like it's a well kept secret to those who weren't born and raised here as for lunch it was pretty dead inside. Yet a lot of the locals love it and rave about this spot. Definitely worth checking out, we had a good experience and loved the old time vibes of this place.
