Nice spot. We stopped by randomly while in Hollywood Beach. Never been to this boardwalk and we were looking for somewhere to eat and was told to walk down here and it was either this or Waterside. We went with Sea Fresh. I was craving a burrito but only saw their breakfast burrito on the menu which is all day. Then I just wanted to ask just in case if they had any other burritos and good thing I asked because she said yes! They have a grilled or fried fish or shrimp burrito, crab and lobster burrito, and another one I don't recall. She even said they have burritos but they're not on the menu so I'm glad I asked. I was about to get the fish tacos but went with the fried fish burrito which came with salsa and chips. Honestly, the burrito was so bland. It only tasted good with salsa and the tartar sauce that came with my fiancés order. My fiancé ordered the halibut with fried zuchini and this cheesy garlic bread and clam chowder. Out of everything, the clam chowder and the cheesy garlic bread were the best. The halibut tasted very fresh. The fried zuchini was also bland. It came with cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. We hadn't been here for several years but decided to stop in for lunch today. I wasn't impressed. My wife ordered the shrimp soft tacos and I ordered the ahi tuna soft tacos. I asked that the tuna be cooked well done, unfortunately it was not! I would have sent it back but I didn't want the aggravation. My wife said her shrimp tacos had very little flavor. I just came to eat at Sea Fresh Channel Islands restaurant on 4th of July. I had a good mood and I ordered a fish, sand dabs. I was so disappointed when I tried the first bite. It didn't have mush taste besides cheap peanuts souse they pored over the most of the fish. The fish was tasteless itself and wet not crunchy at all. It was served on the round portion of rice which was overcooked that I couldn't even divide it. My mood completely changed as I thought right away, they just cook whatever and don't care about how it comes out. The Sand Dabs is usually very tasty fish if it's cooked the right way. I tried it in so many different restaurants and always was amazed by the taste of it. This time it was disappointment and not enjoyable at all. I asked the rice to be replaced with the French fries. Sea Fresh is the perfect location if you need a quick and casual lunch break from the Navy Base. It's counter service, but the food is extremely tasty and fresh. The views of the harbor are relaxing and the staff is friendly. We like sitting outside for lunch, but sometimes there are bugs or flies that can interfere. read more

Visiting from Orange County, my wife and I enjoyed the variety of foods. I thought the fried zucchini was the best I've had, light flaky batter was perfect for me. Sea Fresh Restaurant is a long standing staple here at the Channel Islands Harbor and has been serving up fresh seafood since 2000. Over 20 years in business is no small feat. With locations in Oxnard and Ojai - you don't have to go far for some delicious seafood and casual vibes. The locals love this spot but if you are visiting from out of town, you can't beat their Oxnard location at the CH Harbor as nothing beats some fresh seafood and ocean breezes. I've been to their Ojai location a handful of times and more recently their Oxnard shop. Here is what I would recommend: Fried Calamari: I'm a fan of their big fried calamari rings as you get more bang for your buck! Their fried batter is delicious, well seasoned and crispy. The Tatar sauce is the perfect addition to this appetizer. Dont knock it until you try it. (Must eat right away) Grilled Fish Tacos: Such a classic feel good beachy dish. They have fried fish as well but the staff told me to definitely go with the blackened - grilled fish as their seasoning is Fire and it definitely was! A light hint of spice and melt in your mouth dish always makes for a standout bite. Love that the cabbage ratio was balanced and I'm a sucker for some cheese and crema on top. No regrets, this dish hits everytime. Clam Chowder: One of the better bowls of chowder in the 805 in my opinion. When I'm craving something hearty and comforting this is one of the spots I can trust. Always consistent and always delicious. You really can't beat the views and the seafood here. Reasonably priced and casual vibes that keep us coming back. Based on the mixed reviews, I think it really just depends on what you get. We came here after spending a day at Channel Islands National Park and had a really good experience overall. I got the ahi poke bowl, which at $20 is more expensive than what you'd get at a build your own poke restaurant, but the ingredients were much fresher and I liked how there was a generous portion of fresh avocado. If I might be a little picky, I thought the way they cut the cucumber matchsticks was a little too thick, but otherwise I don't have any complaints. My boyfriend got the grilled sea bass and this was super fresh and tasty. They cooked it just right to have the right texture. The clam chowder side was also delicious a well - the clam bits were fresh and it wasn't overly salty or overwhelmingly creamy. read more

We've been here for things like 4th of July and Super Bowl Sunday, and Sea Fresh Channel Islands never disappoints. They have everything from ceviche and shrimp cocktails, to seafood linguini, to fish 'n chips, to tuna melts, to grilled halibut and swordfish and sanddabs, to sushi, to raw oysters on the half shell, just to name a few of my favorite dishes. You MUST get a cup of clam chowder! There's is the best, loaded with huge chunks of potato and lots of fresh clams, creamy and rich. They also have burgers, sandwiches, and teriyaki bowls and other non-seafood dishes for landlubbers. They offer a full bar, and I can personally vouch for their Bloody Mary, margarita, and Manhattan. My favorite specialty cocktail is the pineapple cucumber refresher. There's plentiful outdoor seating, dog friendly and with a perfect harbor view. Heat lamps are lit in chillier weather. Parking is aplenty in a large, private lot, but restrooms are in an outside common area and were not maintained very well. Service was okay to non-existent. Asked several times to get the table wiped clean. FOOD: Everything needed more salt/seasoning, or benefited from the various sauces (cocktail, tartar, and local hot sauces). The good: Cup of New England Clam Chowder ($6.50) was delicious. The rest of the food was good, after seasoning it yourself and using the various sauces. The French fries were a little soft/soggy for my taste. We tried the Shrimp & Chips ($17), Jumbo Shrimp Dinner ($24), Halibut Dinner ($25), Fisherman's Combo ($20). With a couple of sodas, we were looking at $98, before tax and tip. They do have a nice bar and the views are nice, but since we're not in the area, I'm not sure we'd come here again. read more

It was my first time at this restaurant... It was sooo good... Sooo good as soon as I got to the hotel I fell asleep for about 12 hours. There is no clam chowder like it anywhere. Came back for lunch! Enjoyed the nice weather from the patio and outdoor seating. This place is dog and pet friendly do feel free to bring your pets! They even have water bowls and water specifically for pets haha. The patio area is well shaded and comfortable right by the marina. We got the blackened seabass with upgrade to premium sides (onion rings and fried zucchini). What a deal! Huge portion for $27. The seabass is grilled to perfection and the onion rings and zucchini were perfectly crispy. We loveeee the fried zucchini! They also add a bit of cheese on top. Great premium side upgrade. Also, we wanted the seared ahi by itself and they were able to do that for us $14. Not bad but not the best seared ahi I've had. Fried calamari is hit and miss. Sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad. Today was a bit of a miss on the batter. Not too crispy. More on the crunchy side. The calamari texture was also really squishy and didn't feel right haha. This place is in the harbor. Perfect place to have lunch on the patio. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Everyone brings their dog's. You have to get the limoncello muscles, the sauce is so good and they give you garlic bread to dip. I got the grilled sea bass and garlic truffle Brussels sprouts. The fish was fresh. Get the Brussels sprouts! The clam chowder was delicious and they actually had clams and not just a bunch of potatoes. My cousin had the fish and chips and she said they were good and she always gets it when she comes here. This is an order at the bar and pick up your food kind of place. We are eating a bit healthier now and a staple is grilled halibut from Seafresh! we get dinner to go about once a wee, and have for a very long time. Fish is consistently perfect! The coleslaw is wonderful, I splurge now and then and get a side of clam chowder , which also is consistently perfect. The staff is wonderful as well! I know a lot of people don't like the idea of tipping for to go orders but when I am there I always see the staff working hard on orders and keeping the place clean inside and out, so my advice is to tip generously if you can to keep this place forever! read more

Visited the restaurant this past weekend and it surely was a disappointment. Ordered a fried fish sandwich and the amount of fish on my sandwich was purely a joke, and for 18+dollars!! What a rip off!!! Didn't even bother sending it back, just ate what little fish I had as I was in a hurry and went on my way. The burger buns were bigger than my fish!! Even in this time of sticker shock when dining out, Sea Fresh still offers solid value and well-prepared food. Fresh seafood by the shore - here's one place to get it. Their program is to order at the counter inside the building. Often there's a short wait, especially on weekends. That gives you time to review the options on the order boards on the walls above the cashier's stand. Once you decide and place your order and pay, you'll receive a receipt and a vibrating pager. From there, you pick your own table. They have a number of them inside, or outside on two patio areas. There's also a small bar area with some barstools, if that's your preference. The fully shaded patio tables were all taken on a Sunday afternoon, so we moved over to the other side, which featured a mix of sun and shade. A few umbrellas provide shelter from the sun, along with a few trees offering the same. Some of the tables are in full sun, which some people may prefer. We got lucky with a recently vacated shaded spot. The restaurant expects the diners to bus their own tables to a clean-up area. Well, maybe not "expects", but does appreciate. They did have a teenager busing tables, but he wasn't always able to keep up with the volume. I ended up clearing all the bottles, glasses, and other leftovers serving items from the previous guests onto several trays and setting them on a nearby table. The friendly teen came by to wipe down our table and thanked me for the assist. By then, DH had arrived with our drinks from the bar. Shortly thereafter, our pager went off and our freshly prepared meal was ready. Sitting outside, watching the activity in the harbor on a sunny afternoon was perfect. Our food was delicious, too. I've often ordered their fish and chips, or sometimes grilled seafood that catches my eye on the menu. That day I decided to have a fish sandwich. It was cooked just right. If anything, the fresh bun was a bit too much bread. I was full before getting to the end of the sandwich. I miss their clam chowder - can't tolerate the dairy any more. Sad that! They make good chowder. DH remarked several times what a good value everything turned out to be, given how food prices at restaurants have definitely risen significantly this decade. What a disappointment. My family has been coming to Sea Fresh in CIHM for 15 years or more. I don't know what happened, but the cashier and the other front counter assistant were neither welcoming nor helpful. Everyone used to be so nice, and now it's just another transaction like Burger King. I waited for my to go order for such a long time that I went inside to find out what was happening. I saw that it was sitting on the chefs counter while the assistant was outside, chatting up a guy. Finally, she came back in non chalantly as though she didn't have a job and eventually gave me my food. She didn't bother to close up the lid so it leaked in the bag and then when I opened it I see that it's about half the size it's supposed to be even though this is a $20 plus meal Sea Fresh needs to get its act together. Think of them as California fusion tacos. The second favorite on my list is the Tuna Melt. It's a solid contender filled with fresh tuna flavor. You can get it with a side or Fries, or keep it healthy with a side of fruit. What to Drink: There is a full bar onsite. Hard alcohol, wine, and beer. Its a beach bar, not a fancy cocktail bar. KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid. Order a Vokda / Tonic. A Whiskey and Ginger Ale. Or go for the Mango Cart (Beer). Tip: If there is a long line, have a seat at the bar. Talk to one of the friendly bartenders. Talk to the person next to you. It's a local neighborhood spot, where on weekends, lots of tourist go that are visiting the area. Food was pretty good, not amazing but better than our last trip here. We had fish and chips, the smash burger, and shrimp and chips. All the food was hot, the breading on the fish was light and crisp, and the burger had plenty of fried onions and sauce. It was a nice lunch. The patio heaters were too warm when we sat down but the bartender was quick to turn them off when asked. The patio was then really nice with views of the harbor. The biggest issue besides the rough state of the parking lot (there are big potholes!) was with the order taker and the credit card machine. The couple in front of us used three different cards and ended up using Apple Pay to purchase their order. We tried two different cards and the machine wasn't working. The cashier loudly said that our card was declined when this obviously was not the case. We paid cash but that was rude. Otherwise the staff was attentive and working hard during a busy lunchtime rush. Great seafood really close to Naval Base Port Hueneme! I came here with some clients this week and enjoyed some fish and shrimp tacos and a bowl of their delicious chowder. You place your order at a window then go pick up the food when your buzzer goes off. Everyone enjoyed their meals and left happy with full bellies! No one comes to the tables to refill drinks or anything, but that's the kind of place it is. You bring your empty cup to them and they're happy to refill it. The restaurant is located along the waterfront at Channel Islands Harbor and offers some nice views out of the windows. They have a full bar and draw a pretty good crowd some evenings. I've been kayaking around here plenty of times and always missed this spot. Let me tell you this place is AMAZING. I had the fish and chips first. It's fresh not any of that fake stuff and the tartar sauce was delicious. I wanted to take a picture but I ate all of it before I could show you guys how good this simple recipe looked. Just know it tasted even better. Then we also had the buffalo shrimp on the side. GOLD! I don't know who decided to mix the garlic with the buffalo but it was DELICIOUS. And it came with a Parmesan garlic bread. Soft and crunchy. The service was also really good they cleaned our table very very nice. I've been craving a seafood Louie salad for days and found one on this menu and had to go. The bartender was super friendly and happy to make me a margarita or two. The Louie salad is delicious. The dressing is perfect. Not super thrilled about it being served in a paper bowl, but it didn't ruin the experience. I also had the happy hour bang bang shrimp. The breading is super light and quite crispy. The sauce is more like a barbecue than an Asian sauce but still good with a bit of a kick.
