The service is what drew me here. The food will have me coming back. So tasty. I got a spicy tuna roll, and a Tuna ahi roll. Both amazing. Service was great.

The service was good. The front server was friendly and patient. The inside of the restaurant was cozy and intimate. The seaweed salad was good with a little bit of spice. The salmon sashimi was fresh and very delectable. The rice was a bit sweet and kind of overcooked.

Sushi is on point! I wouldn't have ventured to this place if it hadn't been for another stop we made just down the plaza. Just walking by, the placed looked really plain, no appeal except for the big sign that says "sushi" But jeeez! I'm impressed. Never judge by the outside. That Japanica Roll. One of the best sushi I've had all YEAR! That salmon was so fresh. The crunch in each bite inside.. that seaweed topping. Nom nom nom. My God, I can see why people come here. The place was dead empty for dine in but I swear there were swarms of humans coming in with to go orders every 5 minutes lol. They were so swamped with to go orders the counter behind us was full of to go bags. I think that speaks volumes! I'm curious to try their hibachi menu. I'm happy I've got a new sushi spot!

We stumbled in here on a Sunday when our local lunch spot was closed and we were delighted with the quality of the sushi here. When I can find rolls with lemon, I'm excited to try those because it adds a little freshness to the flavor profile. That's why I went with the lilo and stitch roll. It was delicious. We enjoyed the krab rangoon. Definitely ate it too fast and burned the top part of my mouth. The sashimi appetizer offered an excellent array of fresh fish. My husband enjoyed his 2 x 2 bento box. It might be more expensive than all inclusive options but offers more variety and has lunch and dinner combo options that can certainly match up to other deals especially lunch during the week. Service was excellent.

I wanted to try a different sushi place and found this little gem on my delivery app. The menu had some interesting items but I just stuck to my favorite simple rolls, the Spicy Tuna Roll and the JB Roll (smoked salmon and cream cheese). I figured that if these didn't hit the spot for me then there would be no point in trying anything else. These were pretty good! They were the perfect thing to satisfy my lunch craving and they also gave me double the Yum Yum sauce, I'm guessing one per roll without requesting it in the app. Definitely will be a repeat customer.

They have good foods here. It was my first time and I will definitely go back. I like the miso soup because it's not very salty like the others. My favorite is the King's roll.

This place has been around for so long! Definitely a classic in Jax Southside area if you're familiar! I was craving crab cheese wontons so ordered that - you can definitely skip on this unless you're really dying to try. Didn't find anything special about it & actually it was a bit too crunchy/hard for me. I like mine a bit soft towards the middle. The sushi is good! Not overpriced. Came out decently quickly. Tasted what sushi is supposed to taste like & I didn't find anything to complain about in terms of fish quality. We normally get it to go & it's one of our go-to for sushi takeout but decided to dine in this time. Glad to say it tastes just as fresh even with takeout. I think lots of people get it for takeout so if you're looking for a quiet sushi dine in experience, this place is not bad for that. Would definitely return.

I order takeout from Sushi House all the time! I am always impressed by their food which keeps me coming back. I have tried the agedashi tofu appetizer at many sushi places but theirs seems to be my favorite and I love the sauce that comes with it! I would definitely recommend this restaurant & I will continue to order from here! :)

I really enjoyed the Sushi rolls at Sushi House. I was in the area got hungry and decided on Sushi. I went to my handy dandy Yelp app and found this little gem. I went around lunch on Sunday, and the establishment was not busy. I was able to order quickly, and the food was out pretty fast. I decided to try cooked rolls this time since it was my first time coming. The rolls were nice. I would definitely consider trying other rolls in the future. Overall, nice place if you're in the area.

Food was delivered on time, but Luke warm this time. My soup .... had no flavor and my daughter (going to school for culinary) .... stated (w/o my opinion) .... "mom ... the soup is t like last time, it almost taste like warm water". My filet mignon didn't not taste nor feel like filet mignon ... almost like ... either .... sirloin (which I think is the case due to the "beefy" flavor, but also ... it was chewy .... not filet mignon quality. Rice and noodles was abundant.... if you like that ... it's a good feature... however, I want my filet mignon and normal rice/noodle/vegetable portions ... honestly felt like I was over compensated for the "other" meat that was served. Calamari.... just don't order it .... it's chewy and no flavor ... and for take out ... no crunch left when it got to me and was really "fishy" smelling. I'm just posting an honest review ... not sure what happened between my first and 2nd order .... almost same Oder and with same instructions.... I feel that I may not give another chance .... not for over 100.00.

sashimi lunch with soups or salad is great quality & such a deal for $15!

I saw my drink sit at the bar for quite a while while my husband sipped his beer. The server was super sweet, but not as attentive as I'd expect especially since it wasn't busy. The fish tasted fresh and mostly everything was really good. My favorites were the drama queen roll, the blood orange akami, and the truffle unagi roll. I wouldn't get the truffle enoki mushrooms again- the texture was off (chewy/stringy). The cocktail I got was the nori margarita and didn't feel it was anything special. The glass and straw it was served in was kind of throwing it off for me. I'd go a different drink route next time. I liked the vibe of the restaurant and felt like the ambience was great for date night. It had a sexy feel. I wish there was music or if there was I didn't notice it, because I could hear everything the table next to me was saying. They also brought a refreshing treat for my husband's birthday. We were bringing the whole family and hoping for a fun night, but unfortunately the experience didn't match the ratings. From the start, the tone felt off. When I called to make the reservation, the host immediately said, "We don't seat incomplete parties. We only wait 5 minutes or we give the table away." The policy itself is understandable, but the delivery came across harsh and unwelcoming. A more thoughtful approach like, "We kindly ask that your full party arrives within 5 minutes, otherwise we may need to seat other guests," would have felt very different. When we arrived early and asked if we could be seated sooner (with the rest of our party just minutes away), we were met with the same response again, which felt unnecessary given that there were several empty tables. Unfortunately, the service inside didn't improve. Our initial waiter was inattentive and at times dismissive. We had to ask for basic things like utensils and plates for shared appetizers, and the responses often came with an unwelcoming tone. At one point, when I asked for a plate and knife to share, the interaction became uncomfortable, and I ended up asking to speak with someone. The situation was handled poorly, and the waiter did not return. On the food side, I ordered the Massaman chicken curry at the lowest spice level, and it was still too spicy to enjoy. That said, most of my family did enjoy their meals, which I appreciated. Thankfully, a different waitress stepped in later and was kind and attentive--if the service had been like that from the beginning, the experience likely would have been very different. I also spoke with the manager, Jorge, who was receptive to the feedback and said he would address the issues, which I did appreciate. Overall, I was really disappointed given the strong reviews and the lively atmosphere happening around us. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn't return.

We started with the edamame, with the sea salt and truffle oil, which is always delicious. The service over the evening was very slow, and we spent a lot of time waiting on food. We sat in our favorite spot at the bar window so our server also appeared the be working behind the bar and was busy making drinks. We love sake and usually get a bottle of the Noble Arrow. We asked for a recommendation and the server recommended the Soul of the Sensei, which is $107 for the bottle. We were celebrating our 24th anniversary so we went for it. He said it was on the dry side, but we found it very unexpectedly sweet, almost like a moskato wine. It wasn't surprising when we read the back of the label and saw the flavor profile was all the way on the fruity side, with notes of Muscat grape. We definitely made a mistake by not tasting it first, so we ended up asking for a bag to take it home and ordered 2 glasses of the Noble Arrow. It was a disappointing start. Next we ordered the yellowtail carpaccio, which was very good, although the size of the fish pieces overall seemed smaller than usual. Everything we ordered over the evening was undeniably tasty, but small. We got the Usuzukuri salmon and when they brought it, they had the tuna carpaccio as well. The person who brought it said it was a gift. Later, we were charged $2 on the bill for the "gift." It's not much, but it's just that giving us a gift and then putting a charge on the bill for it was very strange. Overall, I still love the food at O-Ku, but this was not the best experience. We had gone there previously for our anniversary and they made it feel special. This time there wasn't any kind of recognition besides possibly the "gift" we had to pay extra for. And the service was so slow that we ended up drinking the bottle of sake we didn't like rather than waiting for another drink order. Every place will have its off nights, and this unfortunately seemed to be one of them. I would still recommend going there, because even though the portions are tiny and expensive, the taste is delicious.
