Okay so people know there's not much to Chico besides the college parties and some hiking spots. I particularly came to only visit my friend and had a double date with her. We decided to meet up at this location to grab some food and drinks for lunch. I had already drove for 2 hours from Sacramento so I was a bit hangry. I pulled into the parking lot and it was very spacious and even had a drive thru! I don't think I've ever seen a sushi and boba restaurant have a drive thru!! I went to the front counter and looked over my options before ordering. I decided to get the Peach Green tea (w/ Boba) in Large and my friend got the Honey Lemon Tea( w/Boba). We got spicy tuna roll and caterpillar rolls~ We chatted while we waited and she was telling me that they serve all types of dishes such as sushirittos, boba drinks, and even sushi! There were only about 8 tables and there was lots of seating, so I think this place is more of a to-go take out restaurant rather than a eat-in style type of place. Nonetheless, the workers here were very sweet and even brought out the drinks for us with napkins, straw and utensils. My friend ordered some sushi rolls and sesame balls and they looked delicious, but I just ate the rolls I had ordered. The caterpillar rolls was filled with avocado at the top and had lots of delicious yummys on the inside! I was pleasantly surprised that their honey lemon green tea was so flavorful. I could definitely taste that they use real tea and even had about 3 slices of lemon! I also tried my friend's Peach Green tea and it had the perfect amount of syrup and once again, it had the nice floral tea aroma to it. I never thought that a small shop serving boba and sushi would be so delicious! I think this is definitely one of those hole in the wall restaurants that one should visit when in the area~ read more

So my review is strictly on the boba drinks and honestly I do not think I will ever try the food so do not expect an updated version. So as you can see from my previous reviews I am from the Bay Area where everywhere you turn there is a tapioca spot and a lot of them are very good. What makes a good boba spot is being able to make the pearls just right. Undercooked and they are hard as a rock, same if they are not fresh. Overcook and they almost deteriorate in your drink. I only know of two boba places in Chico and have only tried this one so far and yes they have mastered the boba. I got the lychee tea with boba and the boyfriend got thai tea with boba. He said his thai tea is too sweet I thought it was normal. My lychee tea reminded of home. Hopefully they get a 5 star thing so I can start building up free drinks. Only flaw their drive through PA sucks but that's a minor thing. read more

I've been coming here for the last two years, always good, but sometimes really good. Last night was one of those "Holy crap this kind of sushi is available on drive through?!" nights. We got a rainbow roll each and some soft shell crab rolls. The rice was perfectly sticky, the wasabi was prepared just right and the fish was sliced ideally. I really don't like leaving a mediocre review such as this. I am doing this so that the proprietor maybe can learn and improve. Two weeks ago, went inside ordered, since they do not have beer, I asked for a water. First time in my seventy years I had to pay for water. (.50) Probably, because any decent establishment will be serving beer. No big deal, unless you are an 'Merican. Then it is a big deal. Second, I go in there today and standing at the counter for no less that 20 minutes. The drive thru is going steady, but they forgot about the counter. Two clowns. walked past me without even an acknowledgement that I am something different that a smoked sausage. One of them could have at least taken my order. If you are not going to serve the walk ins, just turn that empty space into an appliance shop. Like, I said the chow wasn't bad at all, I just don't like being treated like a dog. read more

We came in to get some food to go, waited so long, I feel like the priority was drive-thru. So not sure what would have been best. We probably wont go back, if anything they should tell you it will be an approx wait time 40-45 minutes. I was about to ask for my money back at 30 minutes, then decided to just not care anymore because I was so hungry. Sushi Burrito King is a quick sushi burrito and boba spot that also serves excellent teriyaki combo plates. I have been here many times since they opened several years ago. The fish has always been good or excellent. Overall they are very consistent and I have been a pleased customer. One tip is if you change or modify something make sure your request is very clear. Many of the employees do not understand English perfectly and they can make mistakes with complex orders. Some of the ingredients in the burritos are a bit awkward in my opinion containing daikon and jicama but maybe this is normal? I've tried every burrito and my favorite/go-to is this: Fried Soft Shell Crab burrito, no softshell crab add tempura shrimp instead, no daikon, no jicama. Highly recommended! The boba tea is the best in town as long as you order the right one. Some of the flavors are overpowering or weird. The Thai Tea is good but my absolute favorite tea is this custom drink, it's really really yummy!: Large black tea, sweet, add boba, add creamer. Make sure they don't make the Boba Milk Tea, that ones not as good as the actual brewed black tea. One last thing, the "combo boxes" are excellent. I recommend the grilled chicken or grilled beef. It's basically a big teriyaki plate with rice and broccoli that comes with a little egg roll and a basic miso soup as a bonus. Great value for 9 or 10 bucks. read more

I pulled up to six cars in the drive thru, hoping it wouldn't take too long, I sat there for 10 minutes before the first car moved. The whole line took about 20-25 minutes. Ordered a large boba milk tea and an egg roll. Egg roll was alright, but wouldn't get it again. I was mostly disappointed with the milk tea. Used to love them, but this one lacked flavor and the cup was 3/4 full of ice. It was gone in about 10 sips. Really disappointed after waiting so long in the drive thru. I went on an order for door dash where I found the lobby closed and drive through to be the only option for pick up. As there were only two cars in line I went right up and spoke to an employee who directed me to drive around where I would sit for 25 minutes. Had i not been in the drive through I would have simply cancelled. However when I finally got to the window the employee said they had not yet finished and to drive around up front where I again sat and waited. As soon as I heard of a fast food sushi burrito I immediately wanted to try it. I had their pizza once before and was surprised when I heard they shifted over to sushi. There was no one else in the drive thru when my friends and I arrived so we got to take a good look at the menu. I saw that wings were on the menu which I thought was funny now that they're pizza has been replaced with sushi. We ordered a sashimi burrito and a fried shrimp burrito. I tried both of them and liked the fried shrimp better. For a fast food sushi joint I was not disappointed in the quality. It was still kinda pricey but it got me full with no side dishes. I came here a few days ago and order a sashimi burrito. When my friend and I both realized we lost our wallet we told the lady that we were so sorry and asked if they had apple pay. When she see said no she saw how sad we were that we couldn't pay for it, she then asked if we had the zelle app and if we did i could just zelle her the payment of the food and she would pay for it. ARE YOU KIDDING?! I told her of course I did and i zelled her the money. That was the nicest gesture someone in the customer service has ever done for me. The price is right and quality was pretty good today. We tried the fried soft shell crab sushi burrito for which others had warned against its messiness. I ate it very carefully and had no "fall apart " issues. We also tried the dragon roll which was tasty especially for only $7.95. We tried the popcorn chicken in Hawaiian and BBQ both were ok, very saucy. Our order if cream cheese tools was yummy, even the 3 year old liked it. We also had boba, of course, loved it! Don't let the exterior of this place stop you from trying it, as you can get some of the best sushi rolls in Chico here. The burrito rolls are a bit large for me, but they are delicious. I prefer the regular rolls, as the rice to fish and other ingredients is a bit more balanced. I recently tried the sweet and sour chicken combo box for $8 and was blown away by the quality and amount of food for the price. Batter was extremely crisp, sauce had a good sweet and sour balance and there were vegetables under the chicken soaking up some great sauce, as well as broccoli and carrots to the side that were perfectly steamed. Took a group of co-workers here for lunch to try the place for the first time as we were all very curious... and we all came away delightfully satisfied. The service was prompt and friendly and the place was extremely clean. The sushi burrito was incredible and big (I think that I will actually eat it with a fork next time). I got the sashimi burrito & she got the golden cal roll- they were both very fresh & came out quickly! Sushi burrito is one of its kind, great portion for your money. Tried shrimp and sashimi by their recommendation, not a fan of sashimi since to many flavor rushed in mouth. But the shrimp burrito is very good indeed, love the combination of crisp fired shrimp and flavorful vegetable. Ok, it sounds weird, but it is not that bad. At first I figured this place couldn't make up it's mind. A few months ago it wash Pizza king, now it is Sushi Burrito King. At first I thought they served both sushi and burritos. Count me out, if a place can't make up it's mind on what to server I'll make my mind up to avoid them. However it turns out a Sushi Burrito is just a giant sushi roll that you eat with your hands, tortilla not included. The taste was alright, the price was not bad. You get grocery store sushi price, for something that is a little better. As for the Boba tea.... I am personally not a fan. That being said I do not like Thai tea either. If you do order one I highly recommend you request it be "less sweet", as the thing tasted like I was drinking Kayro syrup. All in all the place is alright food, good portions, and fairly inexpensive (about $6-8). I recommend you give it a shot to see if it is your thing. read more

All I ever get here is the Taro smoothie with boba but it's my favorite. The tapioca balls are flavorful and not rubbery like a lot of the other boba places. I got the spicy tuna roll here one time too and I really liked it. I've never had drive thru sushi before so I was surprised at how good it was. The girls working there are always sweet. read more

I sat waiting in the drive thru wondering if they forgot they had a customer outside. I couldn't keep my composure at all when another car pulled up behind me, sis we gonna be waiting all day out here. Not 2, not 5, but 30, yes 30, 30 minutes pass and I finally get my boba tea. We visit here mostly for the boba drinks. This place offers a Thai smoothie which most places don't. They have a good selection of teas, slushes, and smoothies. Their menu is very good too. Vegans and vegetarians can order sushi rolls with avocado or cucumber. They also have vegetarian sushi burritos which I have yet to try. They deserve to be in a more attractive location, yet don't be fooled by the outward appearance. They've got a unique and delicious menu for vegans/vegetarians and meat eaters. Got a boba tea one time, another time sushi; both wait times were the longest I have ever been in a drive thru...no other customers besides me. I doubt they made the sushi fresh, it just wasn`t good. One day I went here because I only had a few minutes to grab lunch. I was leery because of the former restaurants at this location which failed. I thought Sushi King might be the same cheesy kind of place. Well... I was pleasantly surprised! They were fast and friendly. The sushi rolls were pretty good and fresh. The iced green tea was delicious- not too sweet but had a little citrus flavor to it. And the prices aren't too bad. Went back a second time. Had grilled beef with veggies. It was super tender and yummy! Sauces are good- ginger and teriyaki I think. Miso soup was mild but good.
