My favorite thing about the food (which flows into my service bit) - is that you can really get some personalization done on your food. Special shout outs to Jacob, John, and Zach. But Zach, overall, was really incredible with his knowledge of the menu. He was the one making my hand rolls today and he gave very polite recommendations for plates and rolls. He was extremely knowledgeable about what was on the menu and ended up showing me something new (and probably my new favorite roll!) you can tell he's very passionate about his job and really takes pride in his work. I tried these rolls: Vegan Philadelphia: My favorite, as it is a simple roll I rarely get to enjoy as a vegan. Vegan cream cheese and vegan salmon put together to get that nostalgic creamy flavor. My last visit was the final straw when a very intoxicated man at the bar repeatedly insisted on buying me a drink. I told the bartender I was uncomfortable and did not want him to buy me one, but the bartender went against my wishes. The man then wouldn't leave me alone and berated me, making comments about how "white women like me" are the reason the country is the way it is. He was also extremely racist and disrespectful toward the bartender. A server recognized the situation and offered to get a manager, which I appreciated. They then asked me, loudly and in front of this angry and intoxicated man, if I wanted him kicked out. This put me in a situation that felt unsafe. Putting a customer in that position was incredibly unprofessional, especially when I had already made it clear that I felt uncomfortable. The bartender even said, "It's OK, he's here all the time." The fact that the response was essentially that his behavior was okay because he was a regular made the situation even more disappointing. After years of genuinely loving this place, I'm disappointed to say that between the decline in food quality and how this situation was handled, I won't be returning.
