The service not so great they take a bit to seat you and even longer to take your order so if you're impatient Definitely mentally prepare . But the menu is very extensive & the quality hits the spot we got Gyoza, ramen & sushi and everything was excellent. As far as interior I'd say it's my and favorite off strip sushi restaurant it's huge inside spacious the booths are giant and it's just repost pretty inside. Let me start with the positive. Great atmosphere! Located in a small strip mall, so you would never expect the inside to be so spacious and nicely decorated. The order of sushi was fresh and delicious. Now, the not so good. Our waitress was not very gracious. Definitely not trained in the Japanese style of greeting. I guess she just wasn't the warm and fuzzy type. I needed to use the ladies room as soon as I got there and when I came back to the table before I could sit down real good, she was asking to take our order. Of course I hadn't even looked at the menu yet. Now, I could understand if the restaurant was full of people but we (two people) were the only ones there. She came back a couple more times and we still weren't ready. I felt like she was circling us like a shark. Couldn't understand what the hurry was. We're the only two people in the restaurant. When we were finally ready to order, she wasn't writing it down. I had to repeat the order to her. No problem though. When she brought our food my order was not there. I reminded her of what I ordered and she said I didn't order that. Really! I know what I ordered. It was 2 lunch specials and an order of sushi. I didn't have a problem with waiting because I had my sushi to eat and my glass of wine while my companion ate their lunch. It was really a no big hurry day for us. Thankfully, 5 more people came in so she wasn't circling as much as before. But, while we're maybe halfway through our lunch, the waitress asks if she could box up the sushi. I wasn't really finished but just said yes to get rid of her. Just such a weird experience with a waitress. One last thing, the lunch plate which consisted of 3 very small pieces of shrimp tempura, the smallest piece of teriyaki salmon I've ever seen, 2 pieces of gyoza, soup and salad was pricey for a lunch special. $25 plus $10 for the sushi. Like I said earlier, the sushi was excellent but $111.00 (including tip)for 2 lunch specials +1 order of sushi and 2 glasses of wine seems pretty high for the quality of the specials. My third time here now. Went with my bestie on NYE. The interior is still as nice as I remember. Spacious booths, nice lighting and ambiance. Service was very friendly! Really appreciate the complimentary miso soup offered to us with our meal. I will say.. I was a little disappointed to hear they didn't have the seafood mango salsa available (it sounded so good!) .. instead, I got a seaweed salad and a Spider roll. My friend got the "stuffed tomato" which has no rice with spicy crab and spicy scallop inside, wrapped with salmon. I tried the stuffed tomato and it was sooo good! Now, the Spider roll is a classic... but I feel this is the best Spider roll I have had in town. I do understand this place is a little pricier but I feel like you get good portions and higher quality. I really do love this restaurant. With the exception of a few with soft shell crab. Where's the fish? If I go out for sushi I don't want a bunch of filler. We opted for the sashimi 10 pc sampler. Was craving sushi but wasn't sure where to go as I'm really particular about the quality of fish and a lot of places just don't do it for me. Luckily, we decided on Sushi Loca based off a friend's recommendation. I can't emphasize this enough, the freshness of the fish was on par or even better than some places I've visited. Prices were great for the quality and our server (I think her name was Roomi?) was so sweet and attentive. Some of our go to menu items are the hot sake, eel nigiri, vegetable tempura, and the Kiss of Fire, Time to LOVE, and Treasure Island sushi rolls. I was feeling adventurous on the most recent visit and decided to mix things up by ordering the premium sashimi combination platter. It came with the chef's selection of sea urchin, yellowtail, bluefin tuna, salmon, halibut, a Japanese plum, and one other fish (possibly sea bream). I personally would have loved to have eel on the platter too, but it was still a solid meal that delivered the fresh and clean flavors that I was craving. Double check your bill--the restaurant charges different prices than listed on website. Spicy crispy tuna--listed at $15.95, charged $18. Nigiri listed at $8.95/$7.95, charged $12 and $10, respectively. Overall, marked up the bill by $24 versus advertised prices. When I contacted the restaurant, they claimed the official website for their restaurant was inaccurate. Check your receipts and makes sure they don't get rip you off, then do a chargeback for the inaccurate amount. Restaurant claimed they had no way to refund even though most POS systems allow an invoice to be opened and corrected the same day, and we offered to give them all of our info from our order. I get things can be hectic but we came at a slow period so you'd think it be different. Food was very underwhelming. Portion was big which counts for the prices but taste was very mediocre. We ordered the fried rice, menu said it came with veggies and I'm thinking ok, carrots, peas etc. But it also had mushrooms and I hate mushrooms. I wish they had specified the specific ingredients especially because I've NEVER seen mushroom in fried rice before so it's not common thing to have in fried rice and it should be notated on the menu.
