Their menu can be a bit intimidating (there's at least 30 items just to choose from in the apps section). The edamame is a must! They jazz it up weigh shredded carrots and a serving of krab- yum!!! Lucky enough, we arrived during happy hour where you get 2 specialty rolls for $20 and/or 2 regular rolls for $10! Awesooommme!!! I heard that and I became Audrey 2 and said - Feed me Seymour, feed me now!!!! I had the jazz roll with krab salad, tuna, and salmon along with a spicy krab salad. TIP- if you're new to sushi or just not into raw fish but still want to tag along here with friends- try the Wednesday morning roll- it's stuffed with lots of goodies- and no raw fish- then it's deep fried so the cream cheese inside gets nice and gooey!! Topped with eel sauce and spicy mayo(perfect combination of sweet and spicy!). Each meal ends with a complimentary fresh home baked cookie. So, I ordered 2 rolls of sushi (Spicy Tuna and salmon roll) via Bitesquad. The food was delivered in a timely manner. However, the sushi was very disappointing. I am a sushi lover and I have been to multiple high end sushi places so I consider myself to be a sushi connoisseur. These two rolls looked and tasted very average (even mediocre). I can't comment about the restaurant ambiance or customer service since it was a home delivery order, but this bad experience leave me unwilling to go there or reorder online. read more

We stopped by at 7 on a Friday. We were told there would be a 10 minute wait and then sat there for 15 minutes staring at 2 empty tables. After we asked again we were finally seated, our drink order was taken and then we were asked to move tables. This "mom" woman who runs the place was loud and aggressive and kept grabbing and hugging on me while she asked us to move in order to accommodate the large reservation that they apparently had not planned for. She was very aggressive and made me very uncomfortable. After moving, than waiting almost another 10 minutes, putting our drink order in again and finally getting our drinks "mom" brought us a complimentary appetizer that she said was super special and no one got it. It was completely pedestrian half a baked avacado with a drizzle of cheese and I could clearly see it on other tables. We placed our food order and then "mom" was back this time grabbing and hugging on my boyfriend while asking us to move again to accommodate a new large party that had just shown up. At this point we left. It was very clear that this "mom" disaster was just looking at the dollar signs of the large group and had no problem inconveniencing a party of 2 to get those big groups in. Not to mention couldn't keep her damn hands to herself! We used to order take out there all the time and eat at red light but I will definitely not be giving this disaster of a restaurant run by a madwoman with no concept of customer service another dime. read more

My first few experiences with Lola's was very good. Service was slow but overall very friendly and the food was excellent so I was pretty excited to find a new sushi place to love. My rating is based off of my last three visits... First of those three visits, i was on my lunch break with two other coworkers. We all ordered our usual sushi rolls and waited....and waited....and waited...and after an HOUR had past (keep in mind we were already there probably 10-15 min before we got our order finally placed) we decided to get up and leave because we were already late getting back for lunch. On this visit we were the ONLY people in the restaurant at the time so its not like they got backed up in the kitchen. Once we got up to go the managers rushed over, apologized many times, packaged up our food to go and gave us coupons for free appetizers on our next visit.....but still charged us for our food. This irked me but at this point i just needed to leave so i didn't argue. Next visit i went back for a lunch break with one of the same coworkers. Again, it took forever to get our order even placed and it seemed like a lllllll of the workers happened to be on their own lunch break at the same time...which was weird...but i was craving yummy sushi so i kept quiet. As my coworker ate his food he found a hair on one of his pieces of sushi. Now he is more forgiving than I am with something like that until he found ANOTHER hair on a different piece of sushi. EW EW EW EW EW. They didn't charge him for the roll (how nice?) but made him point out where the pieces of hair were. GROSS Third and most recent visit...which at this point i don't know why i even returned...my two coworkers decided to use our free appetizer coupons an enjoy our regular sushi orders. All the food tasted fine, service was alright and they remembered us from other visits and were grateful we returned but on the drive back to work my stomach was very uneasy. I ended up resting for a little bit before returning to work and didn't think much of it until one of my other coworkers actually got sick and threw up. Plans to ever visit Lola's again? absolutely not. really a shame since the sushi tasted good and they had a great selection to choose from but an hour wait followed by hair in the food then possible food poisoning??? Family owned, Sushi Lola's is my favorite place to eat when I come to Orlando. If you're a sashimi snob like myself this is your place! They take pride in large portions of the highest quality seafood at very fair prices, while providing a relaxing casual environment with impeccable service. They have a large variety of delicious sushi rolls as well as tasty traditional Korean dishes. My personal favorites are the Salmon Toro and the Uni, but they consistently have new unusual items that will satisfy any sashimi adventurers pallet. The first time we visited this place, I liked it a lot. While the service was sketch, we chalked it up to the small size. But the Korean food was good, the sushi was good & then we just were never able to go back for whatever reason...until last week. We happened to be in the area & wanted to go to Sushi Lola. They had move to a larger place & the wait time was minimal. Once we were seated, getting service seemed to take longer. In fact what irked me the most was that folks who arrived AFTER us were served before us. That water we were promised right away took over 5 minutes to get. But the table that came in after us was served water AND wine within minutes of arrival by the owner. Seems to me that the quality of service at Lola depends on whether the owner knows you or which section you are in. The fact is the service was spotty. The food was ok. I enjoyed my Bimbap but the sushi was passable. I wouldn't say it was the freshest I've ever had - nor were the portions all that great either. Even worse, our sushi arrived well after everything else. In fact the server forgot to put in the order (we asked her about it & she looked confused) and then it arrived with some story how ours was taken to another table. I'm sorry, but she forgot and put it in after we said "hey if you didn't put it in, we can do without since we're done with EVERYTHING ELSE." The Korean food was passable this time around. I wouldn't say their Kimchi was the best I've ever had -- and I've had some great Korean food before elsewhere. Honestly we decided that this would be our last visit to Lola. We couldn't get over the spotty service, which wasn't worth the quality & cost of our meal. This is absolutely THE BEST sushi I have ever had outside of CA and Anna Maria Island. My two friends and I shared the garlic edamame (intense and delicious!), miso soup (very tasty), and Lola's Boat -- the sashimi, including red snapper, mackerel, yellowtail, tuna, and salmon, all literally melted in my mouth, and were so flavorful that I swear my brain melted, too! I felt like I was in heaven! (It disappeared too quickly for pictures hehe) The service was great and always there when we needed anything. The restaurant also serves dozens of types of sake as well as beer, wine, and tea. My friend got lychee sake, which was perfectly sweet with a nice bite. Thank you Lola's! So I have been to Sushi Lola's several times, both in their old space and in their new, updated space, and I have never been satisfied with any of my visits. It was recommended to me originally by several different people who live in the area, but it's only redeeming quality is that it is close to where they live if they don't want to venture out. My latest experience will definitely be my last. Their new space is bigger, and the decor has been updated nicely, but the chandelier that they have by the door does not match anything else; it is too bright if you are seated facing it, and the shadows that it casts make the walls and blinds look dirty. Also with the new decor did not come new dishes, which is fine, but if you seat me at a nice table in a nice chair with a cloth napkin, don't serve my drinks to me in a clear plastic tumbler with green and purple dots on it from Target. The tables are also just as close together now in their bigger space as they were before in the old, smaller space. While we were seated promptly and given menus, the server took about 5 minutes to bring us drinks, and he did not ask us what we wanted before or after he brought them, only brought us water. When we were finally able to order, the food was brought out faster than it has been in the past, but it was very disappointing. I ordered a tempura roll that was rolled so loosely, it just fell apart when I tried to pick a piece of it up. My other roll was an avocado roll, and the avocado was so ripe that it was just mush, and whoever cut the roll did not wash their knife between cuts, so the roll was covered in smeared avocado where it was cut, it was not pretty. We also ordered a beef teriyaki bento box; the beef was bland, and while it had a good sauce to dip it in, there wasn't enough of the sauce for all of the beef. The sides were decent, but they were your standard deep-fried fare (tempura vegetables, spring roll, white rice). Overall with the experiences that I have had I can't say that there is any reason for me to return to Sushi Lola's, and I don't understand why people continue to list this on their top sushi spots in Orlando. read more

The Orlando Magic roll is dinner and a show! The roll is served engulfed in flames. The presentation is killer. Sushi Lola's is definitely one of the better sushi places in Orlando. However, it was a little pricey. I spent $35 on a meal for myself during happy hour and I still left feeling hungry. Also, the cookie wrapped in Saran Wrap that came with the bill was a little hokey. Even the playboy roll that comes highly recommended was just okay. Average. We tried three rolls and the playboy was the best of the bunch. The wine was overpriced for the flavor. We drank it down due to the cost but it was worse than a grocery store bargain bottle. The best part of the meal was the appetizer. We had the crab lava balls. The last time we were in Orlando, my boyfriend and I tried to stop in here for dinner on a Saturday night but the place was packed with an hour wait. This time around we got here somewhat earlier and were able to get a table after a minimal wait. The restaurant is cute, simple, clean and comprised mostly of small tables that can be pushed together. During our visit, my boyfriend and I shared a sushi roll (don't remember which but it was spicy), some nigiri (tuna, salmon and white tail) and a bowl of the miso ramen. The sushi was rolled really well and was really good. My boyfriend was impressed with the amount of wasabi used for the nigiri (I personally thought some of the pieces had too much). The ramen was delicious, with chewy noodles and a good amount/variety of fish cakes. I enjoyed the broth although the salt level kind of got to me at the end (and I love salt, bad I know). I'm not sure if that was more the broth or the rolled up piece of ham that was there. I'd get the ramen again but without the rolled up ham. The service is GREAT! Even when a large group came in, I still felt like I was well taken care of. The owner was also out, serving tables and making sure things were going smoothly. It's a busy place so it can get loud at times. However, I still felt like it was reasonable and I didn't have to raise my voice too much to hold a conversation. Came into lunch on a rainy day. I was feeling soup so I ordered shoyu ramen. BAD MISTAKE! I should of known not to order ramen from a place that was not popular for it. The description was "Soy Sauce Based Soup with Chopped Negi, Kamaboko, Wakame, Moyachi, Boiled Egg, and Ham". For the ham, I got 3 pieces of deli sliced ham... you heard right.. DELI SLICED HAM. I wish I had taken a picture of it.... Anyhow, you can very much tell this was a packaged ramen with ingredients thrown in. This should probably be removed from the menu. I think the only thing good came out is the chocolate chip cook for your sweet ending. They give you one for free when you checkout. read more

The best part about Sushi Lola's is the fish. Because of this, I'm giving it four stars. I ordered the Chirashi bowl and the portion was fairly generous and the sashimi was great. The spicy tuna roll was delicious, much better than what I usually receive. The ratio of tuna to rice was on point- normally, sushi restaurants use way too much rice. The rice was also very fresh, it was the best sushi rice I've had in a while. The other aspects of the restaurant are lackluster. The tempura noodle was bland. The service was slow (although many employees were friendly) and the inside itself is nothing to talk about. I went for lunch and it had a decent amount of people. I can't believe it's taken me this long to check out their new location but better late than never. Am I right? I love how much more space they have now, we were able to get a table as soon as we walked in which is a nice change from the previous location! The staff at Lola's is always super kind & that hasn't changed, they welcome you with a smile, recommend dishes & always leave a cookie with your check at the end. A really good cookie I might add. The portion sizes are good, the Seaweed Salad is by far the best in town, & there are a lot of vegetarian options for my fellow plant powered friends out there. I was disappointed as soon I consumed my first roll of sushi, the overall quality of sushi was not fresh. My bf and I ordered the Ninja roll, Unbelievable, and Chirashi bowl. The fish didn't really taste fresh whatsoever, I could tell that it has been frozen and defrosted over and over again. The flavor of the fish was very washed away, there was absolutely no flavor to it. It's possible that they buy cheap quality fish. On top of that the rice was very mushy as if they used left overs from yesterday, almost didn't taste like normal sushi rolls. The sushi rolls barely remain in one piece as soon as I pick them up. I had high hope for this place but unfortunately it did not meet my expectation. My bf and I spent over $50 at this place for a buffet quality sushi. This is about to be a bold statement, but I'm going to stand behind it. Sushi Lola's definitely has be best sushi in town. No questions asked. The space is definitely small but it helps to foster an intimate and personalized feeling. I always feel known when I walk in there and that is always the best way to keep me coming back. The miso soup is as a starter is excellent and serves as the perfect way to prepare your tummy before diving in. My weapon of choice is the sweet potato roll and the tropical roll with a side of eel sauce. (I will always be a sucker for any roll with cream cheese). They seal the deal at the end of the meal by providing a home baked chocolate chip cookie with your receipt after you pay. I also really love how the owner will personally come around and thank you for being there. I know it's not something that has to be done, but it's nice to feel appreciated when dining in there. I came here at around 6pm on a Friday and the place was packed full. However they have more than ample staff running around in circles doing nothing to handle the crowd, just they will run around in circles A LOT. I was there for about 5-10 minutes before my server even noticed me and that was only after the owner who wanders around the place like royalty noticed me and directed the server to me. I like that the owner is out introducing herself and touching tables but she seems to not be supervising and not care how SLOW the service is and how unhappy guests are getting. I ordered my food. Dumpling appetizer and the Korean rib entree. I then waited, and waited, and waited.... Couple sitting next to me who arrived long after me served... 15 minutes, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting... Large table who order 15 minutes after me served... Waiting, waiting, waiting,waiting.... Giant platters full of sushi being served to tables around me. Owner bringing out special dishes to tables that got here 20 minutes after I place my order. All you have to do is acknowledge my presence. I look at my watch and give them 5 minutes before I walk out. Around the 30 minute mark I am finally acknowledged and told they are sorry for the wait and my food will be out shortly... Around 35 minutes a plate of the smallest most over priced dumplings I have ever seen is dropped on my table. They taste okay, nothing spectacular. DO NOT order the dumplings there are insanely expensive for what you get. Very soon after that the ribs arrive. I can tell you the only reason this place is getting 3 stars is because of this plate of ribs. A huge portion. Delicious. Served steaming on hot sizzle plate. One of the best dishes I have ever had in a restaurant in my entire life. So beyond 5 star food, but sub one star service and pricing. My advice avoid this place when busy and learn what items to avoid on the menu due to insane pricing. read more

A family run restaurant that has been a fixture in Audubon Park for years. Sushi Lola's is a clever take on Japanese / Korean food that still stays true to both roots. The classics are there: spicy tuna rolls and bibimbap are easily found ... but treat yourself and try the lava dips and dirty old man or the zombie roll. The owners are welcoming and always hard at work managing customers and food alike. You may even find some extra cookies tucked in with your order. If you're mood for beer with your Japanese-Korean food order take out and ask them to bring your meal to Redlight Redlight or order directly from the bar with conviently left menus. I've been to Sushi Lola's before and after it's move in the plaza off Corrine. I enjoy their prices and variety of sushi and different offerings. They are also really helpful with substitutions (I hate cucumbers) and don't charge extra for small add-ons (sauces). It's a decent place for decent sushi. There is nothing too special about the decor and there's nothing too special about the sushi. However, one of my favorite dishes is the lava dips! A very good, deep fried appetizer. When it gets busy, service can be lackluster. They don't tend to have enough help for the amount of people in place. Hopefully they spot you extra house made chocolate chip cookie for your wait. So pleased to visit the new location and find that they are still serving up the best Hawaiian roll I have ever had. I also love their ginger-dressing salads. My other go-to dishes are from the Korean menu. They have some of the best bibimbap and bulgogi- these dishes come with sides that vary daily.
