Their amazing Gyoza appetizer

I am sure my friends, family, and I are Sushi's Masa's biggest fans. I go to sushi masa at least once every two weeks with my family and nursing friends. We always get the all you can eat which comes with everything on their selected menus depending on if it is lunch or dinner. My favorites are their spicy Kani salad, fried Masa roll, Tuna Tataki, fried rice, teriyaki chicken and steak, and so much more. Their drinks are also a 10/10. I had their blackberry Long Island and it was otherworldly and perfect. The ambiance is always great and I love the vibe and the service! The service is always good. Sometimes there is a wait but it is always worth it. The bathrooms are clean and love the decorations.

I thought the third time would be the charm, but unfortunately it wasn't. When I opened my disposable chopsticks, a cloud of black, fuzzy residue came out of the wrapper. It appeared to be mold and was all over the chopsticks. I immediately asked my three friends to check theirs, and one of them also had the same issue. We went to wash our hands and asked our friends to let the waitress know. After waiting about 15 minutes, we finally received new chopsticks. What was most concerning was that the waitress didn't seem surprised by what happened, which made me feel like this wasn't the first time. I then checked my eel sauce with my phone flashlight and noticed black particles floating on top that appeared to have come from the chopsticks. At that point, I didn't feel comfortable using the sauce or finishing my meal. This experience completely ruined our dinner. Receiving contaminated utensils and having the situation handled so casually was extremely disappointing. I won't be returning ever again

Love this place! There are cheaper options but the sushi always taste fresh and they're super accommodating with allergies! Inside is beautiful calm vibe. If it's your birthday they might send a special treat! Definitely recommend

Sushi Masa is a nice change from the same old sushi restaurant experience. The AYCE is pretty cool. I'm not a big eater, but it allowed me to try a bunch of different stuff in small portions. Kim was my server, and she was awesome. She was really patient and explained everything really well. ITT was pretty crowded and a little loud, but the food made up for it. The Nemo roll and the mango salmon were my favorites. I am looking forward to trying Sushi Masa's other locations as well in the future.

While I have eaten here in the past, this was my first time ordering to go. They have a wide range of sushi options, which I really appreciated and it was hard to narrow down because a lot of them sound delicious. I went with the yummy roll and the green monster roll. Super glad that all of our sauces were included on the side, as a lot of places forget these sorts of things. Our sushi was ready within 20 minutes and was easy to grab and go. The prices of the sushi did cost more when ordering to go than they did on the online menu, so keep that in mind when placing an online order. I'm guessing there's either fees per roll associated with online ordering, or that the menu prices online are no longer up to date.

Since my dad and I were in the Baton Rouge area, we decided to check out Sushi Masa since a lot of people told us that this is the original AYCE sushi place in Louisiana. The inside was a bit dark, but still clean and neat. Service was nice and helpful. It did take them a good chunk of time to get our plates out, but to be fair they were a bit busy because of lunch hour. We got their All You Can Eat lunch special, which is $20.95 per person (total was $41.90 for 2 people) with an extra hot green tea ($3.50). For the price, the sushi quality was pretty good, but not the best. Portions were good, but I only wished that they had sashimi options like Sushi Nami in Metairie, Louisiana instead of the raw fish options all having rice in them. Overall, an okay place to try out if you're craving sushi for lunch.

Absolutely love sushi masa the restaurant is always clean and welcoming. The food is always amazing and the service is never bad. We get the all you can eat everytime and it never disappoints, you get most drinks included unless it's alcohol you can get your first beer free but after that you pay. There's plenty to choose from on the massive menu from teriyaki steak to seaweed salad or your favorite sushi roll. The seaweed salad does have a very specific texture definitely not for my crew lol! They also have the best pink lemonade. Surprisingly there was no wait for 5 o'clock on a Friday but usually it's a 30-45 minute wait on busy nights. Plenty of parking for it though and there's benches outside for you to wait at if you want. Definitely one of my favorite go to places!

Food is always good here. Fresh sushi, and a great selection of sushi. There is something for everyone. Service is always subpar. I get that the restaurant is very busy and it's always packed full, but the service is lacking. Our server from this time had an attitude and brought us drinks in kids cups. Kept walking away mid order. When we informed him of an allergy of one of our party he seemed to barely acknowledge it. I asked for sriracha and never got it.

Amazing food, amazing chefs, and amazing service! Everything was perfect however, I did not enjoy hearing the manager raise their voice at the chefs very loudly while I am trying to eat. That was the second time I have heard this. For one, that is very unprofessional on his part and second, no worker should be treated that way. Will not be coming back because I do not support this type of behavior from management. This is very unfortunate and disappointing because I loved Sushi Masa.

This is the best place to get sushi in Baton Rouge! The buffet menu is huge! My friends and I usually order multiple rolls and share them.

This is the best sushi available for all you can eat! What a steal. The service could improve, but the food is 5/5.

And fish-shaped taiyaki or bunggeobang pastries that feature custard or red bean filling--warm and sweet with a crispy exterior. The ube cookies were the only items that didn't blow my mind as the ube flavor was lost amongst the food coloring and white chocolate chips. The ube ice cream however was solid, with a mild and lightly sweet earthy flavor similar to taro or matcha. 8/10 recommend especially if you've never had bingsu or ube. My favorite was definitely the fish-shaped pastries, a very impressive replication of the Asian street snacks sold in the wintertime.

The sandwiches were fresh and packed with flavor, the pot pies were rich, creamy, and pure comfort food, and the appetizers were the perfect start to the meal. The whipped Parmesan mashed potatoes deserve their own standing ovation. They were unbelievably creamy, cheesy, and easily some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. And don't even get me started on the sweet pies... BOMB! They were the perfect ending to an already amazing meal. To top it all off, our waitress, Sophie C, was an absolute gem! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure our entire experience was perfect from start to finish. If you're anywhere near Baton Rouge, do yourself a favor and eat at Elsie's Plate & Pie. We'll definitely be back for the food the people and the ambiance!

Expected a wait, 20 minutes, no problem! Another 15 to place our order, and another 25 to receive our food. We were there over an hour before we got any food. Ooffff... it's fine. We're laid back and can roll with the punches-they're busy and staff was friendly-it'll all be worth it when the food rocks our socks. Sadly...no. Both grilled cheeses (entrees) were room temp and the cheese was already hardening. It felt as if they had forgotten to deliver the food. Waitress was so kind and took the one off our check. It was appreciated. Boudin balls were great!! Bedford and remoulade sauces were okay. Parmesan potatoes were good!! Brussel sprouts and fries were fine-would have been better if served hot, I think. We did the pie flight and they were all good. Not mind blowing, but good. I always give out second chances-public service and food service is tough and sometimes you just have off days. Worth checking out if you live in town!! But if you're just passing through, maybe just get some pie to go.
