Worst "rainbow roll" I've ever had. For $21 I was expecting the quality of fish to be great, nope The picture on their menu fooled me

Host was nice but I'm so mad I spent $21 on this sad low quality "rainbow roll" I was fooled by the rainbow roll they advertised on their website. Couldn't finish it I was nervous I was gonna get sick

I love the thick fish cut on the nigiris. Fish is so fresh. Love the ika geso i wish the portion was bigger. Lots of fish inside the handrolls as well. Some seating inside, you can even sit right in front of the chefs!

My family and I visited Sushi Nakano for my birthday and it was fantastic. The sushi chef explained what he was doing and gave me a special sashimi for my birthday. We sat at the sushi bar and we liked having the interaction with the chef. It was comfortable for the 6 of us. We tried lots of things from sashimi combos to California rolls! I can't wait to return and explore additional dishes. What a great birthday celebration!

Super chill date night. Place is small so expect a wait. Food is absolutely worth the wait. Chefs are also fun. Glad we took a chance on this hidden gem.

This small sushi restaurant delivers great-quality sushi at very reasonable prices. Everything we tried was super fresh and delicious -- not a single complaint. I usually go for nigiri, but this time I tried the rolls instead and they did not disappoint. My favorites were the Phoenix Roll and the Bushido Roll -- both were outstanding! Perfect spot for fresh, well-made sushi without breaking the bank.

Great sushi spot in Ahwatukee! Clean restaurant, friendly staff, and a fun view of the sushi chefs in action. Watching them prepare the dishes was a highlight. They also have a YouTube award for Life of a Sushi Chef, haven't watched yet, but thought it was worth noting. Their hours are limited (Tuesday-Sunday from 4:30pm-9pm) so would recommend for happy hour or a date night!

Nice service: a wet towelette with the chopsticks.

First time at Sushi Nakano. I arrived at 12:30 on a Friday and it was half full. The restaurant was located next to Trader Joe's. I ordered the lunch bento box, which had a few choices. I got the mixed tempura and the Cali roll but with spicy tuna. It came with miso soup and a salad, plus rice. Pretty standard bento box. It came to $20.63 plus tip. My soup arrived in less than five mins and was the standard miso soup, with tofu and scallions. My bento box came about seven mins later. The salad was a bit odd. I couldn't tell what the dressing tasted like. It wasn't sesame, nor miso or ginger. It was good, just didn't know. The Cali roll a nice size, with eight pieces. The tempura was the highlight for me, but probably because I love onions so much. There was one prawn, one green bean and three onions. It was tender, fresh and very delicate. Also on the plate, next to the steamed rice, was a tiny seaweed salad. I mixed it with my rice and really enjoyed it. Service was very pleasant, efficient and thorough, even though she was the only one. Definitely a return trip upcoming.

My husband and I came here for a date night tonight, and we had an amazing experience! Everything was absolutely delicious, the service was great and the restaurant was spotlessly clean. The atmosphere is so pleasant and welcoming. We are already looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommend.

This place is super cute! The sushi box is a good amount of food for dinner (and delicious), it came with a salad and soup. The service was wonderful and the employees were very sweet.

Amazing quality in food and service, despite how busy it can get! I would say that expanding the location to more than a couple of tables in a small building space could help with the wait times, but truly, something about the smaller and more intimate space maintains the quality treatment you feel as a customer while dining in. We went on a Friday evening at around 6, and had to wait about 30 minutes, but it was so worth it. The waitresses do it all and keep a respectful approach to their work, while the sushi chefs are clearly passionate about the presentation and quality of their food. Highly recommend to anyone in the Ahwatukee area looking for fresh quality fish and creative rolls!

We came for the first time yesterday and had a great experience. The food was awesome and the service was fantastic from the waitress and chefs themselves. We especially loved the negi toro and Agadashi tofu. We will be back for sure!

Upon arrival, the place doesn't look like anything special. It's inside a strip mall, and looks mediocre. However, do not judge too soon. Once you get inside, everything is well laid out & it's very nice. It was busy when we went in on a Friday night, BUT we got seated quicker than estimated- which is always a win! I was not happy with where we were seated, as it was facing the wall in the small bar area. We are people watchers by nature, so it's always fun to be in a spot where we can look around the room effortlessly. However, it wasn't the end of the world and I certainly didn't want to wait any longer, the food looked wonderful & I was starving! I do not remember exactly which rolls we got, but... all of them were EXCELLENT!! Everything was undoubtedly fresh, and made with quality ingredients. I thought the black rice was really neat! I've never seen that before. The waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating. It took no time at all to get our orders out, which was impressive considering that the place was packed near capacity! As we left, all of the sushi pros behind the glass thanked us for coming in and wished us a great rest of our evening. I thought that was very kind. It's not very often that you find a whole line of people stopping what they are doing to wish you well on your way out of their establishment. All in all, 10/10 experience! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Sushi!

We were a party of 12 visiting on vacation, and none of us are from the area. We ordered spam musubi and a chicken skewer as appetizers. Both appetizers arrived well after our entrees had already been served and we had essentially finished eating. Each time we asked about them, we were repeatedly told, "They're coming." Mind you, these are simple appetizers that should not take anywhere near that long to prepare. When we asked for the third time, we finally asked that the appetizers be cancelled since we had already finished our meal. At that point, the gentleman working the front area , tall, with red hair, loudly yelled from across the restaurant, in an extremely rude and confrontational tone, "It's already on the grill!" There was absolutely no reason to speak to paying customers that way. His response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and honestly created a very hostile and uncomfortable feeling during what should have been an enjoyable dinner, especially while our group was on vacation and simply trying to enjoy a meal together. When the appetizers eventually came out, we left them sitting there because we were already done eating and ended up taking them to go. He eventually told us they would be removed from the bill, which we appreciated, but that did not excuse the way the situation was handled. Again, the food was good, but good food does not make up for poor service and especially not for an employee speaking to customers in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. Management should seriously address how customers are treated, because the interaction with this particular employee overshadowed what could have otherwise been a good dining experience for our party of 12.

Definitely a vibe for anime lovers! Food-wise, we started with the gyoza and they were delicious. Perfectly cooked and even better dipped in the ponzu sauce! We also tried the sushi flight, which was a great way to sample a few different flavors. Overall, I really enjoyed it, although the eel was probably my least favorite of the flight just personal preference. The crispy tuna rice was easily the star of the meal! Crispy, flavorful, and the textures worked so well together. I would 100% order that again. The ramen, however, was just okay for me. It wasn't bad or inedible, but the broth was lacking that rich, deep flavor I look for in a good bowl of ramen. A little more depth and seasoning would really take it to the next level. The service was honestly one of the highlights. Our waiter was super friendly, cool, and attentive without hovering, which I always appreciate. Overall, there were definitely more hits than misses. The great service, fun atmosphere, and crispy tuna rice are enough for me to give Full Moon Izakaya another try. Next time, I'll be exploring more of the menu!

And the gyoza had just the right amount of kick to them. We had both the hamachi crudo and the halibut crudo. They were both delicious, but the hamachi was the standout. Hamachi is usually a little too fishy for me, but this just melted in my mouth and left me wanting more. We also had one of the specials, the 808 roll. It was topped with poke, and we would not let them take the plate until we'd scooped up every little morsel! Cocktails and service were excellent as well. The service- pretty poor. I was sat in the bar at the back but I basically sat there for a good 5 minutes and nothing. Never got my water refilled, had to flag them down to put in more food, that sorta thing. The vibes- thought the bar was pretty lit and is prob pretty fun during HH. The food- overpriced for what you get and portion size while the fish and flavors being a smidge above average. I left still hungry after getting the gold omakase, bad and buri roll, and hamachi crudo. The hamachi was the best part of the meal but I'd still expect at least 5 pieces for the price. Anyways, this spot will hit the spot if you have a sushi craving. I can't vouch for the drinks but I assume it more than checks the box in that regard judging by the menu, selection, and vibe. But know that you're in for some trade offs imo.
