    Chirashi Bowl with Fresh Wasabi
    JD B.

Edit: Turns out, I've been going to Sushi Nara since I moved to Morgan Hill over 10 years ago. I have been going to Sushi Nara for at least 5 years. It's all about their Chirashi Bowl and the fresh wasabi add on. It's legit my favorite menu item because they are super generous with the fish slices, variety and portions. I have tried other sushi places that have been a Morgan Hill staple as well as newer places but I keep coming back here. I've mostly done take out these days but when I do done in, the staff are attentive and polite and there's a bit of speed in their step when providing service. There's plenty of space to sit, it's not too loud when the restaurant is full either.

    Chirashi and YB roll

I stumbled upon Sushi Nara by pure luck, and what a find! I visited right at opening, and the place is extremely clean with a great vibe. The YB Roll and Chirashi were awesome. The staff were friendly as well. Highly recommended this place. The best in this area.

My absolute favorite sushi place, never misses. The food is incredible amazing sushi and rolls spectacular. I love dining inside as well the people are great and fast service too. The place itself is very neat and welcoming! The sushi chefs at the counter always tell us goodbye, great location. Highly recommend!

The presentation was beautiful and the sushi was delicious

California roll $8.85 and Shrimp Lover $18.95

Really enjoyed our visit on Tuesday evening. Staff is very attentive and helpful, they read the room very well and do their best to provide great customer service. This was my first time here, came with my toddler. What we ordered: - Kids plate with salmon (which was half the cost of what we usually pay in another our go to sushi place). The bento box came with a piece of salmon, one pot sticker, one shrimp tempura, salad, rice, miso soup and a slice of orange. Very good size for a kids place and for the price around $9.50. - California roll and shrimp lover roll ( I really enjoyed my rolls). Very cute presentation on a little bamboo bridge. We enjoyed fresh food and very laid back quiet ambiance. I was impressed by the warm, welcoming atmosphere, with the staff and sushi chefs enthusiastically greeting every customer as they entered and left, creating a memorable and inviting experience. We plan to return with my husband next time and sample other sushi rolls. My total for 2 sushi rolls, kids bento box and orange juice was under $50 which is reasonable considering current economy. Give this place a try!

Sashimi combo has all the hits!

Stopped in the second they opened the doors. Was greeted quickly and told to pick anyplace to sit. Waitress was friendly and brought me a water and asked what I wanted. I ordered a pot of green tea and the sashimi combo along with a big bang roll. Sashimi combo - nice selection of fish. Very fresh and tasty. Had the usual tuna, salmon and yellowtail. Big bang roll- was very good. Not very spicy but had a little kick and was really good. They kept the tea coming and and service was excellent Had a few TVs on and the inside is just ok, clean and pretty open. Nothing fancy It picked up really quick, got crowded fast. Good spot for some good sushi

A decent place for sushi out in Morgan Hill. I think their prices are a bit high for the level of sushi they provide. I will say the Hamachi Kama is bigger than other sushi places, but the sushi rolls itself is just fine. The nigiri pieces on the family meals seem a step above the sides of the boat. I don't recommend the agedashi tofu. its frozen tofu with a packaged sauce. Not worth. Service is ok, ambiance is typical. Not bad

Beef Teriyaki and Tempura Combo Lunch: Good portion, dipping sauce is yummy

This is a decent neighborhood Japanese restaurant. Place is kept very clean and spacious. The sashimi pieces are humongous, the way hubby likes. And, the most important thing I look for in a Japanese restaurant: they do the sushi rice right. Their roll was very delicious too. The friendly owners serve and cook the food. Worth revisiting.

Our server was…read morekind and doing their best, but the food quality and overall experience were not good at all. We drove almost 3 hours to visit while spending the day in the area, and honestly, we would've rather grabbed fast food instead. What made it worse was that we were hoping to treat our mom to a nice meal, but all of us ended up disliking the food. The appetizer plates we were first given were visibly dirty, so we had to ask for clean replacements right away. A few people in our group ordered the loaded clam chowder since we'd seen so many positive reviews online, but it was extremely underwhelming. The seafood tasted undercooked and the soup itself had barely any flavor. The wait time was also frustrating. We received appetizers fairly quickly, but waited almost an hour and a half for our entrees. During that time, staff kept coming by offering extra bread and refills we didn't ask for, which honestly felt more like an attempt to make up for the long delay. Meanwhile, several larger parties that arrived after us were served their meals before we were, even though our group was only 5 people. What also made the experience uncomfortable was that once our food finally arrived, we felt rushed to leave. After waiting, staff were already trying to clear plates while some of us were still eating, which felt unfair considering the delay was completely out of our control. By the time the food finally arrived, the quality just did not justify the wait. Overall, it was a very disappointing Mother's Day experience, especially after driving so far. Sadly, we won't be returning.

When you walk in, there's nowhere to sit -- only to-go orders and outside seating if the weather permits. My husband ordered the chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, and orange chicken. The only thing he liked was the sweet and sour chicken. Everything else was bland, no flavor or seasoning. I ordered their Chicken Sizzling Rice Soup. It took them a minute to prep that one, but no problem, I understood. When I got it, it looked more like a mushroom soup than anything else. The broth was flavorful enough, but I had to take out 75% of the mushrooms. It comes with chicken, zucchini, and mushrooms, with the rice on the side. We decided to eat outside since our drive home would be too long. We were in town for a funeral, but we will not make our way back here again if we're ever in the area.
