The charashi bowl was plated so beautifully I didn't want to eat it. The futomaki was also amazing and tasty. My dad said it reminded him of the way his grandmother made it. We tried Sushi Nara in Morgan Hill for the first time yesterday, and I'm glad we did. Walked in and got seated right away. Initial thoughts were it's a very friendly, clean place. Good overall vibe. Checked out the menu and ordered their sashimi combo, and a few various rolls. Everything was fresh and tasty. We were very satisfied! The only thing I'd "ding" them on is one of the rolls wasn't tight and it kept falling apart. I definitely recommend worth checking them out if you like sushi! read more

Cash and card accepted. Sushi Nara is in the same plaza as UPS and Jamba Juice and offers a lot of plaza parking. I've been here a couple times and both times it hasn't been that busy. There is a good amount of seating here and the service was ok. They have a good variety of dishes to choose from. Although this place isn't the worst place I've been to, it's not the best either. I would say it's ok if you happen to be nearby and you want Japanese. Overall I would say you can try it at least once. read more

Overall, I think that this sushi spot is just ok. I think I'd rather go to Ichiban than Nara. I ordered the G-dragon roll. It was decent, but it was missing something that I can't put my finger on. I also had the miso soup, which I thought was pretty bland and lukewarm. My mom ordered one of the bento meals, which I thought was over-priced, especially given the average taste. Unlike many sushi restaurants, though, the service is exemplary. Our server, Artie, was extremely friendly, patient, and helpful. Even some of the other staff members were very nice despite our coming to the restaurant shortly before closing. read more

Sushi Nara is probably my favorite sushi restaurant in Morgan Hill. The owners are very friendly, the servers are attentive and the sushi is fresh and tasty. I usually get salmon sashimi and a couple of rolls. My go to rolls are the: Victoria's Secret, Nara, Jane and Artie Rolls. They are bountiful in size and have always fulfilled my special requests (sauce on the side or no sauce at all). There aren't too many options in Morgan Hill to begin with, but if you're looking for fresh sushi, tasty rolls and great service then look no further. read more

We were visiting for a bowling tournament and looking for something near our hotel.. We went for dinner yesterday, June 12, 2021. It was not too busy, which was nice. Service was good and prompt. The chefs behind the bar greeted us and sent us with a farewell. The food was good. We got tempura and egg rolls for an Appetizers. The sushi was good and presented nicely on a large plate. The lunch bento boxes are also a great affordable option if you're trying to get the most bang for your buck. This place is one of my favorite sushi spots in Morgan Hill because of the great amount of natural light that shines inside during the afternoon. I have been to a may sushi place. but this one I'll definitely save in my car GPS.(favorite dinner place) The seafood was fresh and delicious. We were with a big group of about 12 people .... everyone enjoyed it. For a restaurant like this, I thought the bill would be crazy. But I had a pleasant surprise at how inexpensive it was. The owner deffinatly care about his customer's experience. Great place if you have someone visiting your town to show off. Sashimi is the best and that teriyaki salmon... defiantly worth trying. Sushi Nara is the first place I tried sushi back in 2008 but I have no memory of that event besides my gf at the time tricking me into trying the wasabi. This time we tried Sushi Nara because our go to spot was packed like a can of sardines and the call out wait time was 45 minutes. I ordered a Lion King roll, California roll and gyozas. The gyozas and California rolls were perfect. Everything I expected them to be. Now I know there is somewhere closer to home where I can get these little cravings. The Lion King roll however, was strange. It was nowhere near the level I was expecting it to be. But this is not a new thing. Almost every sushi spot falls short of making the perfect Lion King roll. I had two bites and trashed it. Couldn't do it. Overall I will definitely be going back to try out more of their rolls and other dishes. Side note: I wish more places made cooked edamame with oil, garlic and Japanese seven spice. read more

I'm bummed I have to write a "not so positive" review but after my phone convo with them I was left with no choice. First I really enjoy their sushi and rolls. I have always received fresh fish and have always been satisfied with my food. The same is true with my last experience too. My wife and I had lunch on Friday. It was our first dine in experience since Covid-19 shut everything down. We ate. Enjoyed. Got full. So far everything was amazing. Later that evening my wife wasn't feeling too well. Started with a little nausea and eventually she got sick. At this point I felt fine so we passed it off as a fluke. But about 2 hrs later I got sick too! And it was brutal . So I called to let them know what had happened. At this point I didn't ask for anything because I wanted to see how they would handle my situation. His response was this- you probably got sick because the fish was SO FRESH. WHAT? So I threw up not because of bad fish but because it was too fresh!? Wow So he basically said we are sorry you couldn't handle the freshness of our fish. Very, very disappointing. The food tastes great but be careful because you just may end up with fish so fresh you will vomit . read more

If you want great sushi, this is the place to go. I like how the restaurant is clean and the service is excellent! It can get busy around dinner time but they have been able to accommodate customers. My husband and I come here often for dinner. Our favorites are the Angelina Roll, Chicken Teriyaki with miso, Rainbow Roll and Grinch Roll. The Gyoza appetizer is also tasty as well as the Agedashi tofu which is served crisp with the dipping sauce on the side so it won't get soggy. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This is my go-to sushi spot always. I'll drive up from Gilroy just to patron the family who owns Sushi Nara. They are always quick, affordable, and friendly. I've been coming here since 2011, and this review is long overdue. The quality of their meals is always consistent, I've never had a single issue here, they recently accommodated my party of 14 on a Friday night (reservation of course) for my birthday, Artie was professional, speedy and extremely accommodating. I LOVE sushi, it is my favorite food I could eat it forever! I eat sushi at least 3x a week. I moved from SJ and there are really great restaurants out there! Anyways, I felt like a bento box one day and decided on the teriyaki chicken. WORST CHICKEN EVER! it was PURE fat! It was honestly disgusting. You can tell they use cheap meat here. Decided to give them a second chance and ordered sushi. Nope! Totally skimped me. I payed what $13 for a roll and there were only 4 tiny pieces! Wtf! Total rip off.
