    Portabello Chicken Basil Roll
    Andrea F.

Service was impeccable and the quality and taste of the food was outstanding. We visited during a holiday weekend and was advised upfront that there could possibly be a short wait on the food due to a quick onset of diners that arrived at the same time. Our server recommended a few items that they would be able to get out to us quickly and was prompt to take our order. All items that we ordered were fresh, beautifully presented and delivered to us in a timely manner. I have nothing but great things to say about sushi Niko Niko. When in that area I will return

(2 hand rolls 2 spicy tuna rolls and chicken fried rice for $54) the rolls were sloppy and over packed with rice alone with and my handrolls

For $54 it was not worth the amount of rice they put on the sloppy made spicy tuna rolls that they made along with my hand rolls that were also mostly packed with rice. The chicken fried rice was good, but it wasn't worth my toast.

A unique and niche sushi restaurant. It was great to go to a sushi restaurant that didn't feel like a massive chain (it could be a chain I'm not sure). The service was great! I got a mall of Georgia roll and my friend got the Georgia Roll and we got to try each others! It was delicious! The menu was in a binder which was kind of weird but it had pictures of what the sushi looked like. I would eat here again!

We came here on a Friday evening at 6 PM. They were not busy. We were seated in the Habachi side but at a table. (We were not eating hibachi). I should preface this review that I don't eat sushi or care for Japanese food. I ordered Chicken Breast Katsu fried rice. The rice was good and flavorful, but the chicken had a weird taste. It wasn't disgusting, but it wasn't good. It was almost as if the chicken was cooked in old oil. My husband enjoyed his shrimp fried rice. Our server was friendly. They automatically charge 20% tip for large parties, which was fine since our server did a good job. This place can get extremely loud. A huge group of high school kids came in to eat, and it was unbearably loud. Overall, it was an "okay" dining experience. I only came here for a family outing, but I wouldn't make a special trip for this place.

Atmosphere: 10/10 Service: 4/10 Prices: 7/10 I wanted to update this review. Not much has changed. This place is still really a hit or miss with the service. I started to notice a change in the quality of the sushi rolls every other time I came to dine in here. The chefs started being a bit more stingy with the portions of the contents that go into the Tito and fiesta rolls. Sometimes when they don't have seaweed they'd use I think a rice paper substitute which would make the roll fall apart easily when you pick it up. I would still come here but I'm a little disappointed each trip I make here.

FOOD: 4/5 Had to separate the rating because the food here was amazing. I'm very particular about my sushi, and it's very rare that a sushi restaurant portion size are filling but Sushi Niko Niko gets high regards for that. I ordered the Grand Canyon roll (left) Baked Mussel Roll (middle) Big O Roll (right) The Grand Canyon roll wasn't my favorite roll. Not memorable at all so I don't think I'd get that again. However the baked mussel and the big o roll were delicious! I would say those two are very similar in taste and presentation which I couldn't tell from the pictures so that's just something to keep in mind. Both are cooked sushi too if that is your style. SERVICE 2/5 Service was terrible. Restaurant was fairly busy so I can understand the hustle and bustle but I found it completely rude for our waiter to continuously begin a conversation and then walk off prior to the conclusion. It made simple tasks such as getting the bill drag on longer than it should. The food was great but there service is definitely taking away from the rating. Overall, this is a great place for sushi, but don't come expecting top tier service (or even mid par service at that).

You got to try Verizon sushi. And the Huntington lady sushi with the mangoes slice. It's different and good. Service was alright but could be better. The ambiance is nice.

Came here with some friends for lunch while visiting some friends. Sushi rolls are huge and they come with generous slices of thick fish. While I did enjoy the rolls I had, I did not like the eel. It was chewy. I ordered the Tito roll and the Verizon roll. The Tito Roll had shrimp tempura, cucumber, crab, avocado on the inside. It was topped with avocado, eel, mango, and baked seafood salad. The seafood salad included shrimp, mussel, scallop, lobster, and crab. It was then finished with roe, scallion, seaweed powder and sauce. It tasted just okay. The seafood salad did not consist of what the menu said. I definitely only tasted and saw crab and shrimp. The Verizon roll had eel, tuna, salmon and yellowtail on the top and spicy tuna and avocado on the inside. Topped with a special sauce. This one was okay as well. I don't remember what rolls my friends ordered, but they enjoyed. My other friend is a vegetarian. He ordered veggie fried rice. After a few bites he discovered pieces of chicken! When he told our waitress, she looked and said, "Yeah, I see it. I'm not even going to try to argue." Argue? Last I checked we are customers. She brought it back to the kitchen and then came back to us and told us that the chef tried just taking the chicken out, and she convinced him not to and to make a new order of veggie fried rice. Umm, that's what should be done in the first place! The first order and the second order of fried rice came out WAY before any of the sushi rolls. Food should be brought out together as we are all together. It just makes sense that way. With both of the above mentioned, I can say that service is absolutely terrible.

Sushi Niko Niko is one of my friends' favorite sushi spots. After much hesitation on my end, I finally agreed to check this place out with them last week. We came in and were directed to sit literally a feet apart from the table next to us while there were several clean tables around us. We asked to move a couple times and was denied before another lady said okay. Needless to say, social distancing is not really enforced here. However, the staff are wearing masks and a couple bottles of hand sanitizers are placed near the entrances. Looking around the restaurant, there were a great deal of dirty/used empty tables with plates stacked. Seems to me like they were short staffed that day. The inside decor is nice with some oddities here and there (i.e. the statue of a turtle holding drinks while staring us down while we ate LOL). Also, the tables are kind of sticky. Rolls: * Crunch Tiger Roll ($13.95) * Verizon Roll ($13.95) * Rainbow Roll ($12.95) * Mall of GA Roll ($13.95) Crunch Tiger Roll and Verizon Roll were my two favorites of the four we tried. The pieces of fish are layered on pretty thickkk. Fish quality is okay but if you want to play it safe, order sushi rolls with sauces (i.e. eel sauce, spicy mayo or wasabi mayo). The rolls are pretty big so each piece took two bites for me. After reading the Yelp reviews, I came in with low expectations especially in terms of the service. Many yelpers say the sushi is great, but the service is not so much. Our server was really nice but the first lady that greeted us wasn't very accommodating. In the end, I'd have to agree with the general consensus. The sushi roll quality is good. You'll get the best bang for your buck here. TDLR; spotty service, large sushi rolls for a reasonable price

Crunch Tiger roll and whatever number 46 is with the cucumbers... Both were excellent!

Straight up... been coming to Nico Nico for many years and have seen them have their ups and downs. Early on, it was one of if not the best sushi restaurant around with quality service and excellent food. I'm glad to say that the dinner we had here tonight was the best one yet! Excellent service and fantastic quality sushi. Made for a most enjoyable evening! If you haven't been back in a while, it's definitely worth another go!

We went for the dinner AYCE at $29.99 per person, and kids under 3 eat free. Our toddler (3) and baby, free of costs. But our toddler did have his own meal (chicken nuggies and fries...what a plus!) Keep in mind that some items are included in the per-person price, while others come with an additional charge. For example, the fried ice cream dessert was $1 per serving on top of the AYCE cost. Not a huge deal, but worth noting. Now, onto the revolving sushi belt experience. The bottom belt is full of pre-made sushi, circulating around, while the top belt carries the sushi you've specifically ordered via iPad. This is where a few concerns come in. Since the pre-made sushi is constantly circulating, you don't always know if someone has fiddled with it. As for the iPad ordering system, it was placed up above the top sushi belt, which was a bit of a nuisance. It would have been easier to use if it was within arm's reach, but again, not a major issue. We opted to order items that would take time to prepare and came directly to our table, so we could avoid the pre-made conveyor. The fried ice cream dessert was great, tasty--but the spoon they gave me was dirty and sticky. It honestly felt like it had been used by a kid before being handed to me. Needless to say, I didn't use it. Service was solid. Our server was helpful, especially since it was our first time, and walked us through the process. Overall, it was a decent experience, but there are a few things that could be improved, particularly with cleanliness and the setup of the revolving belts.

During my short time in the Buford area, I've come to this place twice in the last two days. The food brought me back as well as proximity to our hotel, however if I were local, the service would drive me away. The type of staff that seems more, interested in hanging out and talking with each other than actually serving the customers. First day I was here. I got the bulgogi Omurice dish and it was tasty. I expected the omelette actually cover the entire portion of rice (top and bottom like an omelette which it didn't. Nevertheless, served piping hot in the stone dish and the flavors were good and not overpowering, and the portion was large. A decent value. The second day, after learning a lesson from the previous one, my wife and I split the Bulgogi fried rice dish (which she had gotten the day before.) Again, the flavors did not disappoint. The rub came when my cousin and I, who have two Independent families and who paid separately, were bulked together as one large group so that a mandatory service fee could be tacked on. When I asked, they said the computer made them charge the service fee. This is in addition to having the system prompt for a tip in addition. The ironic part is that we weren't even standing next to each other in line. Then if you are going to charge a service fee, we would expect to have some solid service that is pretty prompt. Small things such as being able to get water when and as soon as you sit down (perhaps they were busy?), as well as having the sufficient amount of silverware (perhaps they just miscounted?) and actually people smile when they're helping you (perhaps it was the end of the day and they were tired?). Lots of hypotheticals. Just a higher expectation of service, especially when being subject to this service fee. Nevertheless, the family enjoyed the food. We are in and out and about 45 minutes and I'm leaving town today so it doesn't really matter but if you're looking for great service, this isn't the place for you but if you just need a quick bite to pick up and take back to your home or hotel,, go for it.

First, let me say that I love this restaurant. I live in South Metro Atlanta, so for me to come all the way up to Buford, Georgia to eat at this place, I really like it. My previous experience has been nothing short of excellent. Even on this visit, the food was excellent and I had no complaints with its quality or in the environment in the establishment. However, when I walked in, I was greeted my an extremely rude young man at the front counter. He was so rude that, I decided to leave and went back to my car. As I sat there, I had to remind myself that I had driven over an hour and it would have been foolish to leave at this point. So, I went back inside and ordered. Again, extremely rude to myself and my guest. It was so bad that my guest also noticed. Even in telling us where to sit, he acted as if I was bothering him by coming inside and ordering food. When our food arrived to the table, he just slammed it down and walked off like he was annoyed. What was even more telling about how, insanely, disturbing his behavior, was that when he and his 'shift' left and was replaced my some young ladies, the experience, completely changed! I mean, immediately changed. The young ladies were helpful, pleasant, and friendly. The mood changed so drastically like night and day. Again, this food is good! The environment is neat! But, if this young man is continued to be allowed to interact with customers, there will be some continued problems.
