The hibachi is a giant portion of food that our whole table could have shared. I also noticed how great the beef tasted, this I will say was above average. I was a bit skeptical ordering the sushi but was pleasantly surprised at how fresh it tasted. It was also very well prepared and plated. I would say the food here a bit more heavily seasoned /salty than the average Japanese hibachi, but it still left us full and happy. My recent experience at Sushi Nova in Orland Park was an absolute nightmare, rife with disorganization and a shocking disregard for customer service. Arriving at 6pm with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday, we were told there would be a 15-30 minute wait for our table. After providing our contact information and receiving a confirmation text at 6:08pm, we patiently waited for our table. As the wait dragged on, our anticipation turned to frustration when we watched other parties who arrived well after us be seated ahead of us. When I voiced my concerns to the hostess after a party of five was seated at 6:45pm, she dismissed me, claiming they were merely adding a chair to an existing table of four. The situation worsened when, at 7:00pm, customers were seated at a table next to a vacant one that could have easily been combined to accommodate our group of six. Upon pointing this out to the hostess, she looked dumbfounded and promised a table would be ready shortly. Alas, the table in question was already occupied by a party of four who had paid their bill and were idly scrolling through their phones, completely unaware of the chaos unfolding around them. Having now waited an hour and a half--far longer than the initial estimate--I pleaded with the hostess to consider our situation. Shockingly, another hostess intervened, stating that their policy forbids asking people to leave, even when they have already paid. This utter lack of logic left me stunned and questioning their disregard for potential business. Resigned to our fate, we continued waiting until 7:41pm, when we received a text alerting us that our table was finally ready. In a rushed and unapologetic manner, the hostess shouted our party's name and carelessly tossed menus onto a table, which we presumed was ours due to her hasty departure. Throughout this ordeal, not a single staff member showed concern or offered a sincere apology. By the time we finished our meal and left the restaurant at 9:22pm, the extent of the mismanagement and poor service became painfully clear. Our birthday celebration was ruined, and the staff never took responsibility for their errors or offered any compensation for our wasted time. Sushi Nova's chaotic table management and unapologetic customer service left me feeling disrespected and disappointed. Their refusal to prioritize our group's experience or recognize the severity of their shortcomings reveals a deep disregard for customer satisfaction. While their all-you-can-eat sushi menu may be tempting, I cannot recommend Sushi Nova in Orland Park as a place to celebrate a special occasion or enjoy a meal with friends. Until they address their dismissive staff, inefficient policies, and lack of basic customer care, potential customers should look elsewhere for an enjoyable dining experience. read more

Have you ever eaten at a highly acclaimed sushi place where you are impressed with freshness, presentation, friendliness and cleanliness?? WELL THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE PLACES. It's a Monday night, a holiday of sorts with kids off from school and many businesses closed and you would think that a restaurant would be ready to do some serous business. It has been empty most of the time we have been in here. I know why! The sushi is slightly better than room temp and it certainly doesn't taste fresh. Have you ever seen white tuna that is more yellow than white? Never in my life. No need to go on. Seriously disappointing. Expected much more than a queasy stomach and the inevitable date with Mr. Kohler ready for a violent expulsion of what was just introduced to my stomach. Thankfully I did not eat much else today so the down time on the porcelain Honda won't exhaust my entire evening. As you might be able to tell dear reader this is my last stop here ever. Hopefully I make it home in one piece so as not to destroy my latest Levi Strauss jeans. All of this destruction shall be meted out on the throne of shame. Wish me luck.
