Sushi On is a AYCE buffet style restaurant inside of Fair Oaks Mall. This is a good option for a casual dining when you are craving a sushi fix. Quality is not all there but it does the job when you want sushi. Ny nephew and I came during lunch and the place was already bustling at 11:30am when they first opened. We were seated promptly and went to the sushi bar to get our sushi selections. The were a good amount of different sushi selections-- ranging from the standard rolls to nigiri. On the other side of the buffet area; there is a soup bar (premade soups, a pick your own ingredients soup bar (udon and hot pot soup, hot food bar and a dessert bar. Service was fast and timely. Sushi was alright and does the job... the best part is the price. Lunch is $27.95 ans $13.98 for kids. What a bang for your buck! I will try to come back for the dinner options!

Maybe I'm just tired of this place because my grandparents go here every weekend to eat, but Sushi On does have a lot of great options. The right side of the buffet is mostly carb-filled items, and if you're a true buffet eater, you know you can't really get your value through a lot of the items served here. I will say that there are a lot of decent sushi options along with seafood items. There's seaweed salad, crab legs, and sometimes crawfish. There's also a noodle soup section where you can sometimes make ramen or pho. There's also a coffee/ espresso machine that is next to the ice cream machine, which I tend to make a mock affogato with, and there's a crepe station in the evenings for dinners. The staff work really quickly and efficiently here, and it's always crowded on the weekends, even before opening. You have to get there right when it opens or there will be about a 45 minute wait to get in. Again, it's fairly crowded during peak hours, so definitely try to get here early.

This is the best AYCE sushi buffet in the dmv area. There is a very long wait and they don't take reservations so I highly suggest you come early. I came for lunch, and although it was nearly an hour wait it was WORTH IT!! The sushi variety was incredible!! There was so much to choose from! It was fresh and so delicious! Don't skip out on the sashimi salad! There's also an udon/shabu shabu bar, the typical cooked noodles dishes, seafood like seasoned crawfish, and galbi! It was so tender and charred to perfection. There was a huge line for the galbi and for pretty much everything! The staff were attentive and quick to refill popular items like galbi, sushi and crawfish. They also had really good calamari! I was surprised by it! Everything was so delicious wow! Also there is a coffee bar! Pro tip- put ice cream with coffee for an affogato! SO YUM! The ambience was good, lots of space, so many tables! I am surprised it is so popular!!

So many sushi options!

THE BEST BUFFET EVER!!! I love buffets with a burning passion and this one is the best. I feel like I am entering HEAVEN every time I'm here. And I always leave with at least a 4-month food baby. I mostly go for the sushi (I love the volcano roll and the salmon sashimi) but the hot bar is also excellent. And I love the little jiggly desserts too. I would recommend the lunch over dinner buffet because the price is signficantly less, but either is a good deal. Not the best quality sushi I've ever had, but for the price and the fact that it's a buffet you cannot beat it. ily Sushi On!!!

This is still a spot that you pay for what you get. It's an all you can eat buffet for around $36 per person. The sushi isn't gonna blow you away but it's still good. I really love the crepes here for dessert. Me and the guys love to come here either before a movie or after golf. It's a good place for large groups but be warned that you may have to wait for a table at times.

Came here with a group of six on a Friday night and was seated quickly. Pretty interior, nicely renovated and sleek! Good array in sushi that is good quality, think their other seafood is a bit lackluster but still delicious nonetheless. Definitely would recommend this restaurant if you're trying to focus on having an AYCE sushi experience. There are other dishes available but tbh the sushi is where you'll be getting a bang for your buck. Other than sushi and some salads, there was also two soups available in large pots, noodle soup section, crepe station, desserts, korean hot foods, dumplings, and a few other hot dishes as well. I think I had more expectations for the seafood based on pictures I saw on Yelp but there was just oysters and crab legs which were both in the cold section. There were also cooked oysters and mussels in the hot section which were pretty good! The service was good, lots of waiters available which makes it easy to wave someone over for chopsticks or more water. Also cleared our empty plates pretty quick. I'm very content with my AYCE experience here and hope to come again to satisfy my sushi cravings:)

The first time I came here I was really wowed and couldn't wait to come back. However, when we came again on a Friday night, it was just OK. They don't have tons of food, which is OK if they had it really good like that first time at something, just a little flat and not as fresh. It's very popular and certain times there may be more than an hour wait. They have a mix of Korean and Japanese and Chinese dishes. There were crab legs at crispy crab, crawfish. Their sushi. They also have beef short rib, pork belly, and a batter chicken dish. There's also some vegetable tempura. I would probably go again, but hope that the quality stays at a higher level. They also have a coffee machine and a small desserts and fruit section. The location is convenient in Fairoaks mall. The dining area is clean. The bathroom is OK.

Ask the Community - Sushi On

Does anyone know if they open for lunch in weekday? And what the time is?

11:30 AM until 2:30 PM, everyday.

Are they open for dine in?

Starting 11/20/2020, they are open everyday for dine in.

What's the difference between lunch and dinner buffet (except price)? Is it worth it to go to dinner buffet?

Dinner serves lobster tail. It's a mix food of sushi and korean style food. The dinner has better verities. But all sushi is the same lunch or dinner. It's the Korean food stuff that changes.

Good thing we arrived early enough to beat the crowd and get dibs on the food that alone would be worth $20 if eating by itself in a typical Chinese resto - examples include the seafood (which my wife says was surprisingly fresh compared to all other buffets we've had in the past), ribs, roast duck, pho (yes...PHO!) - to name a few. The place itself is quite spacious, modern looking, and clean. Tables were NOT crammed together like some other buffets might be. Restrooms were big and clean. Speaking of cleanliness - plates were clean AND DRY (unlike every other buffet I've been to where the dishwasher seems to be so overwhelmed that plates come out wet...yuck) Staff is amazing! Friendly, took their time, efficient at removing dirty plates, and gentle...not sure what I mean by that, but I feel like it made my dining experience that much better. Food-wise, I'd say was slightly a step above in terms of the non-seafood items. My wife says the seafood was top notch. I really enjoyed the ribs, chicken stick, and beef broccoli - although everything else was quite tasty. My 7 y/o enjoyed the pizza, fries, and chicken nuggets. The taro bun was nice and soft - a definite departure from the stale, hard-on-the-outside buns I was accustomed to at other buffets. Most surprisingly was that they had pho!...which I've never ever seen before at a Chinese buffet. I didn't have a chance to try it, but will certainly do so next time. Parking-wise - there seems to be dedicated parking at the resto level (at least I didn't see any other businesses at that lower level) which can be accessed by driving straight towards the buffet and NOT going to the upper level where the Burlington strip mall is. If lower level parking is full, there would certainly be more parking in upper level....then simply take the stairs down to buffet. I'm excited to go back....and excited for YOU to try it! Definitely one of the best....if not THE BEST Chinese buffet I've ever been to. And having experienced the Chinese buffets in Southern California, that's saying a lot! NOTE: Don't compare a buffet to a traditional Chinese restaurant. In a buffet....it's more about getting your fill. Here, I think you'll find that you not only get your fill, but you'll be satisfied. OH! And my stomach was not upset at all afterwards (apart from being soooo full lol). Bon appetit!

The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself is clean and well maintained, which immediately sets a great impression. The variety here is incredible -- everything from Chinese favorites and dim sum to sushi, a raw bar, hibachi grill, made-to-order noodle stations, and an impressive dessert selection. There are honestly too many delicious options to list. Some of my personal favorites include the carved brisket roast and the perfectly steamed halibut. I also loved the made-to-order noodle bar, where I customized a pho bowl topped with beef, wontons, and roasted duck. It was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. With so many high-quality options, you truly get both variety and great taste here. This is one buffet that definitely exceeds expectations.

Great American Buffet…read more GOOD: Baked chicken, tacos, peppered roast beef and pies BAD: many of the vegetable dishes, fried chicken and cakes Like many buffets, this was hit or miss, some dishes good, some you avoid The star was the freshly sliced pepper coated roast beef. It was medium rare and juicy - very good. The baked chicken was tender and the cream/meringue pies were spot on The fried chicken got big reviews but it was very dry, and not much crunch to the skin. Alot of the veggie dishes were floating in fluids and the cakes were dry. The whole experience was squarely average. The baked potato was a nice touch and delicious. The restaurant was very crowded and very popular. Service was somewhat slow in getting us drinks and plates off the table. The bathroom was not in a clean condition. We stuffed ourselves but couldn't eat anymore food afterwards. The cost of the buffet was a good price yet I rather save money and cook three items we truly loved at the buffet. This place is ideal if you don't have time to cook and rather eat out. I wanted to give the restaurant a four star rating but had to drop a star to a three star rating due to the bathroom and the hit & miss of some of the food at the buffet and other factors. The fried chicken was too dry to eat. The grilled & sauced chicken was not good. No sauce cups to dip food in were not available.

We've had plenty of bad experiences with Chinese buffet seafood making us feel sick--pretty sure I'm not the only one--but that has never happened here. Also, my daughter doesn't eat much seafood, but they're flexible and let us order something simple like a mozzarella stick for her, which is a huge plus. Yes, there's an 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more, but it feels fair for the quality and service. The gumbo you can order on the side is amazing, and the crab legs, mussels, clams, and shrimp are all fresh and delicious. It's $58.99 per person, which isn't cheap, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

We still needed to wait for like 20mins, so this place is very popular (no surprise - edit: turns out it was Valentine's Day ). It was our first time so we were given the rundown of the process - order on a little tablet, your order gets delivered to you, ala cart, and there's a sauce station and appetizer section in the center I tried the apps - spring roll, cheesy corn, fried chicken. All delicious - the fried chicken was really good - but had to stay mission focused for hot pot and kbbq Kbbq is self serve and the portions they deliver to you are quite reasonable and small, as you can always order more. Our table did seem quite small though even though it was a booth specifically meant for two and we ran out of space quite fast It's a bit hectic if you're doing bbq and hotpot - since you're (in this case just me, as my wife just dallies on her phone ) managing cooking on both fronts and space can fill up quite fast and trying to manage raw ingredients from cooked Kbbq was great - loved how I can adjust how done my meat is (extra burnt crispy anyone?) but the hotpot was really lacking. I remember getting a bok Choi from the tablet and literally got like 3 leaves too much overhead to go to tablet - order that small amount of veggies - make space - cook - eat This place does two things medicore. I applaud the concept, and in theory hot pot is an excellent balance to heavy kbbq, but I'm old with a shrinking stomach and with the plethora of options in the area, I'd rather go to a dedicated AYCE kbbq or hot pot That being said, I still had a great time here, ate till I passed out, and would recommend tldr; AYCE at two things but not excelling in either - try to come here during weekday afternoon for lunch price, it's much more appetizing
