It has been a while since I've been to a Chinese buffet. There are less and less of them in the area but Golden is considered one of the better ones. Like any Chinese buffet, they have a wide selection of items - from Chinese food, a hibachi grill, some American food and even sushi. The quality is exactly what you pay for. Most of it was mediocre and/or bad, but there are a handful of items they do well. Some of my favorite things were the salt and pepper shrimps, fried flounder and wings. Lots of options on ok food for a good price.

I'm a regular customer, I have to say the food are very good! Compared to the Siki buffet , this place is cheaper and much more delicious

Food was HORRIBLE!!! Plates were unclean and sticky! in the hibachi line the broccoli was moving, literally green worms on it & once i said anything the guy just used the spoon for the chicken to pick the broccoli up, Cross contaminated everything. Food just completely nasty and im not okay.

Very average Chinese buffet with nothing special. I probably won't be coming back here because I like other buffets in the area more. Nothing noteworthy

I came here because I heard rumors of an all you can eat crab place for $13. Once I arrived I asked if they had the crabs and the front desk person nicely checked for me. My favorite items here were of course the crabs, brisket, clams, and a mushroom and beef dish. The brisket was a giant slab of meat you could cut yourself and control the thickness. As for the crabs, I would consider them on the smaller side, however they had lots of them so I guess it really doesn't matter at an all you can eat place. Overall I had a great experience here, there are definitely more attractive places then here but this is a good place to go if you looking to get your moneys worth.

The food wasn't the best, but it was okay overall. The service was fairly decent, and the ambiance was nothing extraordinary, just average.

Second, the selection is huge. They pretty much have almost everything you expect in an AYCE place. Chinese hot food, Japanese sashimi, Korean BBQ, vegan salad, drinks, ice cream. They even have snow crab and lobster claws the day we were there. They also had "buddha jumping over the wall" soup - if you know what it is. One thing is that my empty plates were piling up before they were taken away, but I guess it was Saturday and they were busy. Overall the food selection was amazing. I only wish their desserts are better... I thought the little roll/balls in the frig was mochi... but no... it was something with unpleasant texture - they tasted like silicon... Other than that, I think this place is the best Asian AYCE I have tried in the US. If we are ever in Maryland and in the area we will definitely come back.

Most buffets have typically the same things but this one exceeded my standards. I loved the build your own hot pot, the meat tasted so fresh and it was very tender. They had a massive sushi selection with sauce bottles for eel sauce and spicy mayo. A bunch of hot and cold bars. Even a diy boba bar! Everything i tried tasted really good. They have workers who go around and make sure the service areas are clean of food and such which i liked. It was very clean. Would i make the drive again? YES but also i heard there's an alexandria location opening this year!

I arrived here from Ronald Regan Washington international airport and used the public transportation system to get here. Thankfully, they were open for dinner and I got seated right away. The restaurant itself was not big but not small either. It could accommodate 50 people at any given time. I arrived here around 5:30 PM on a brisk Wednesday evening. It was nice to be here because of the travel that I had done the day before to get here. With that said, I spent a good amount of time eating my way through the station that they had. I was quite famished because of the air travel and definitely was looking forward to diving in. I ended up having most of the seafood related items first before diving into a second round of the seafood again I ended up with a plate of carbohydrates, mostly pasta and rice before ending the meal with a full stomach and a happy smile on my face. Definitely worth coming here because of the unlimited items that they had. At least it felt unlimited because of the share volume of food that they put out on any given day. I spent about an hour here trying to get full value for my meal which happened to be around $15-$20 with out tax and gratuity. Feeling pretty good when I've dived in. Bloated when I finally said I had enough. It was worth the effort though! If you're in the area and wouldn't love a good Chinese themed inspired buffet, consider coming here to this one in Alexandria, Virginia. I certainly recommend this one for sure. The overall experience here at this Golden Buffet restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia was very good. I overdid it calories wise, but I was on vacation. I sat near the food, which small wonderful and Daphne made me think that I could eat a lot more than I normally can on any given day. At least the price was fixed so that you can indulge beyond what you can for a fixed price. That's what I love about a buffet and the Golden buffet here in Alexandria Virginia is no different. The ambience here was very good and quiet for sure. It was just me and my stomach hurting all the food that I was eating. Once in a while, the server comes to check up on me to see if I had needed any water or anything else to drink during my stay. While the food is mass produced, you can feel that there is pride and love that goes into making such delicious dishes every day. They basically have the traditional Chinese food dishes that most Americans would enjoy, as well as other dishes that local Chinese in the area would enjoy as well. So they have a lot of stuff that can pique the curiosity of both. I eat a bunch of vegetables during my stay but majority of the food that I had was the seafood, considering that's usually the most expensive items on the menu anyway. And so, if you love buffet and Chinese food, consider coming here in the Alexandria area if you're hungry for something that would carry your dinner plans as definitely scratch that Chinese food fix that you've been craving all day long. The Golden buffet restaurant is located in Alexandria Virginia. It is physically located at 7820 Richmond Highway, a few miles from the Ronald Reagan Washington International Airport. I took the metro and a local bus to get here, which was okay. The rush hour in DC is pretty much crazy but I made it work. For the most part though, my experience here at the Golden Buffet Alexandria was good and cozy. As I write this, I'm full to the max and don't really regret it at the moment. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have a small parking area for y'all who drive. If you're like me, public transportation is available (DC metro and other public buses) for anyone and everyone who wishes to come and dine here. And of course, there's Uber and Lyft and Empower at your convenience. If you're looking for something that can fill your stomach at a reasonable price, consider coming here for your next meal in the DC / Alexandria area. Oh maybe you could probably skip a meal or so just to make room to get real value for your money. That's what I did when I came. Air travel can do that to anyone. 4.0 stars for the overall experience Support local! B

Hostess barely looked happy to see us, and if that wasn't a sign, the food sealed it. Sushi was crusty, dried out, weirdly gray - honestly, you'd expect fresher from a gas station shelf. Chef at the sushi station was glued to his phone, blasting what sounded like a personal playlist so loud you could catch the rhythm from across the buffet. Wasabi was chalky and ginger looked days old. Soy sauce? Evaporating. Buffet choices were super slim, mainly shrimp. Beef and chicken stir fry didn't look worth the plate space. Two kinds of fried wings in total, which didn't help. Another staff had their phone volume maxed out, so the noise never stopped. Salad bar was a sad scene; brown edges and limp leaves, with dressings crusted over like they'd been sitting since breakfast. Forget the dessert section and fruit; nothing looked tempting. Soup looked so neglected, you'd swear it belonged in a donation bin. Ice cream was worse; just tough lemon and a chocolate that didn't pass the smell test. Only highlight? The hibachi chef hustled to make shrimp, and eggs feel freshly cooked, even if the supplies were running dry. The green tea was decent. But with sticky walls and greasy windows, it's hard not to feel like the place quit on cleanliness a while ago. At least our server has a smile. Takeaway: Skip this spot, unless you're real desperate for hibachi shrimp and don't mind a rundown vibe. This one's for folks who think food court sushi is gourmet.
